Spouse was served with papers including a TRO yesterday. He is currently applying for a job that is running a background check on him. Will the TRO show on the background check?

Is there a way for me to have it rescinded? The hearing isn't scheduled until July 8.

Please help. Thanks in advance.

We have a court date set for August. I will be getting my parenting class in this week. My lawyer asked if I wanted to propose a settlement offer first or just schedule the mediation. Knowing my sbtx will fight everything in the settlement offer, should I even bother? (All he is willing to do is pay child support and get visitation.) And, if I do make a settlement proposal, will this prolong the divorce? i.e: they give him 30 days to respond to everything..and then some. My lawyer also mentioned that most cases get settled in mediation. If it's settled in mediation, do we still go to court?

The whole process is kind of confusing.

Been married 22 years and make half as much as my spouse. He has agreed to a divorce but he is nickel and diming me. He thinks he is only obligated to child support and that all other assets and debt should be split down the middle. We meet with a lawyer he picked out next week in order to hammer out an agreement. If I don't agree on anything then I can get my own lawyer. I think I am entitled to some sort of support above the child support. How do I go about determining what it would be. Is there some sort of guidelines by law. I am afraid he will overrun me in the mediation. I have had an initial consultation with my own lawyer, but I don't have a $3,000 retainer to give her. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

HELP! My divorce was final 11/12/2008. I had hoped that after it was final things would get easier...Not! My ex couldn't care less about how much his hatred for me affects our son. He continually puts him in the middle of everything. Our son is with his father for summer visitation and ex refuses to let me talk to son. He took son's cell phone and downloaded over $100 in charges to my bill just to try to upset me. He will not provide me with the title to the car I was awarded in divorce. He refuses to pay his 50% of medical expenses required in divorce decree..plus much more.

The other day my son asked me if we could stay in a cheap motel when I get him for weekend because his dad gets mad at me when I stay in nice places.

Our son is 12 years old and I don't think I can deal with this for 6 more years. What should I do? His actions are really affecting our child. My ex is the one who left he cheated and wanted the divorce. He is still with same girl and they just had baby. It seems to me he got what he wants..Why can't he just leave me alone.

I have an agreement that was approved by a judge but the fianl decree has not been rendered (very slow moving attorneys). The agreement was created by XH & has very litte detail - it says he has 2 weeks of visitation per summer but says nothing about when or how. XH has asked for the time & I replied "I know the children need to spend more time with you. Let's talk about an itinerary, communication & a possible brief visit (kids are 5 & really attached to Mama). He replied he doesn't have to give me any info. I let him know I will get the girls ready for a visit, but I won't agree to a date without more info. I have heard nothing more & the date is one week away. I know my little ones will have a difficult time being away for so long & I am very anxious about being out of contact. Is is customary for the parent with custody to be allowed information during the other parents' extended visit?

I thought I remember seeing this question posted, but could not remember where. Can an ex-spouse claim any settlement money that is granted to their ex for a personal injury after the divorce is final-if the injury occurred during the marriage?
