No, it was a United States Senator named Dick Durbin. Mr. Durbin uttered this shameful comparison as a way to protest the way prisoners at Guantanamo Bay were being housed. Mr. Durbin is a liberal Democrat and embodies the outright contempt that many powerful Democrats openly display in regards to our men and women in uniform. Another high-profile Democrat who seems to enjoy dumping on service members is John Kerry who famously said “You will get stuck in Iraq if you don’t get an education.” He also said that if you are fighting in Iraq you are basically a terrorist yourself. Even the great Barack Hussein Obama said that the war in Iraq “was a dumb war” but now touts the war as a success and recently proclaimed that the “Iraqis have a chance to forge their own destiny.” The military are a convenient campaigning tool to liberals, nothing more. Schakowsky in Illinois claims it’s not about class warfare (perhaps it’s just about having brownshirts handy), Elizabeth Warren has claimed that she’s provided much of the intellectual foundation of the occupy movement, and that you can help support the class warfare (her words) by donating to her. And the Consumer Protection Bureau she helped set up essentially does exactly what the occupy movement is demanding. […]
