The brethren at Fossil Creek Church of Christ want to thank everybody for coming to the 2010 meeting. We realize you go to great expense to attend meetings such as this. Your presence contributes to the success of this meeting. We’re especially thankful to brethren from all the congregations in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area who attend and assist in the meeting. Thank you!

Our thanks go primarily to those men who make it their life’s work to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This year’s preachers are shown in the picture below, taken at the conclusion of this year’s meeting. We appreciate them for accepting our invitation to preach at this year’s meeting. This meeting is a gospel meeting. The focal point continues to be the preaching of the gospel of Christ. We want to always maintain that focus for this, and all gospel meetings. We appreciate these men very much and commend them to you for future use in your home congregation.

We also want to thank The Baymont Inn & Suites for being our host hotel. Their cooperation and support were remarkable. Our personal thanks to Sydney McGyver, Director of Sales. She aggressively worked to help us provide this year’s visitors with a high value room rate. We hope we can continue to work with them in the coming years.

Our thanks to the brethren of the Grapevine Church of Christ for their hospitality and cooperation. They opened their homes, provided refreshments and went out of their way to contribute to the meeting. Every year we receive much needed assistance from these brethren. Thank you.

We thank the kind folks of the recreational facilities, the private endeavors undertaken by various individual members so young and old alike can congregate after the services for association. Mostly, we’re thankful to Brian and Lianne Elliott for their kindness and hospitality in opening their home each year on the opening night of the meeting. Singing gospel songs is a tradition at this – and other – events. They go to great lengths to make folks feel comfortable and welcomed. We thank the entire Elliott family for their hospitality.

Thanks to Kevin Presley for making the new songbook – “Glory Echoes” – available for this year’s meeting. We sold a few hundred books at the conclusion of the meeting at the discounted price of $200 for a box of 50. That’s a full dollar discount per book. We have more boxes available. If you’re interested in buying the book in boxes of 50 you can still take advantage of that discounted rate of $200. Books are available for local pick up or we can ship them (shipping charges are extra). Contact Kevin Presley or Randy Cantrell if you are interested.

Thank you to all the homes of local brethren who opened your hearts and your doors to visitors attending the meeting. Your hospitality enables some people to attend who otherwise might not be able to afford it. Additionally, you harbor young people and provide a supervised environment so our children can have a safe, fun time with other Christian kids.

Yes, it’s a long list of people to thank, but it shows you how vital it is for brethren to work together to make a gospel meeting like this happen. We’re almost finished, but we must mention two final words of thanks.

One, we thank the members and families of our congregation – the homes of Fossil Creek Church of Christ. Your willingness to serve rather than be served, your sacrifices on behalf of others and your dependability make this gospel meeting – and all the gospel meetings that we conduct, possible. Thank you.

Lastly, we want to thank Ronny and Alfreda Wade. Some years ago Ronny graciously accepted our invitation to conduct the nightly oversight of the meeting. Ronny has been a vital part in the history of the churches in Texas. The boy from Cleburne has long been a valuable soldier in the Cause and we admire him greatly for the Work’s sake.

Admittedly, our congregation has a fondness for Ronny because he has been a trusted faithful gospel preacher for many decades. We pray the Lord will bless he and Alfreda with many more years of service. Lord willing, Ronny will continue to serve our congregation by conducting this meeting in the coming years. We thank him for all he’s done for the Truth and for the annual Texas Labor Day Meeting conducted by our congregation.

The annual Texas Labor Day Meeting is an annual tradition over 50 years old. This gospel meeting is conducted by the Fossil Creek Church of Christ in Ft. Worth. Each year the meeting is conducted beginning Friday night of Labor Day weekend. The meeting concludes on Sunday night. There are no services on Labor Day Monday. We hope you’ll make plans to attend each year.
