No name shrine

A while ago I build this shrine (I don't remember what it was my first plan), and didn't finish.

Some few days ago when I looking for my tail I found this piece, and continue working on it. I had some vision on my head, but not so defined.

When I start to work on it, I didn't know what it was the next step, each piece follow of other...

So I start with little pieces of scraps that I kept, I don't know why, every one else I think will be through them out. And here is the result (After I took the photos, I add one more piece on right corner down).

Omer from my "new" family had a 7 years old Bday. He is a little boy that loves to play with fantasia character. Therefore, I asked his mom if he would love sewing or knitting robot, she said that they were at Toy Exhibition and saw handmade robot and they were so lovely, so why not do that?

The Bunnybot are 24" length with ears and legs, made from my own pattern, and finished all my black sewing thread ;-)

Cloud bag

The theme was cloud, what can I do to Karin that I did not know so much? Only she likes useful items, orange color and she likes sewing items (because she does not sewing).

After "Plan A" drop down (missing materials). I must to thought to other plan, I was "killing" my sewing machine and here is it.

In a looking for the treasure swap, Tzlil choose "fabric" as a theme.

I thought what "fabric" is for me. "As clay in the potter's hand‏‏‏‏", this phrase came from the bible (Jeremiah 18:1-11), and I thought it is very appropriate to her.

Therefore, I decide to create this piece of art mostly from some kind of fabrics as a symbol to this phrase.

When in need to created something ethnic for Y.kipod I choose to crochet pixies shoes. But what Is Pixie? The pixie is mythical creatures of England folklore. The Pixies poem by Nora Chesson is best explanation:

Have e’er you seen the Pixies, the fold not blest or banned?

They walk upon the waters; they sail upon the land,

They make the green grass greener where’er their footsteps fall,

Knitted recycling bath matte

A while ago, I see that my bath need a new bath matte, so I decide to knitted that from fabric that I cannot found what to do with them, sheet that it is not my type and other "ugly" fabric.

I cut them too many strips and start knitted, and suddenly my material almost finished, so I stopped for a while. One day my hand was scratchy and I was continuing my knitting and think what other material can be appropriate to finish that bath matte that I cannot need to bought. I suddenly remember that I had thick yarn scraps that were appropriate for this matte.

Therefore, here is it.

Healthy wishes

What are your wishes for the Jewish New Year? Zohar asked for healthy life for her and her family.

I think many of us had a lot of words to describe what is healthy life, but what can I do if I should not use words for that? I need to create a piece of art or craft without words as main issue? How can I do that?

So I looking for health goddess and I find that Hygieia was the goddess of health. If so I decide to create hanging doorknob with her face to keep house health.

For now I make for her family, what can I create for her health?

I keep reading about Hygieia and found that she had some representations during the history, and also nowadays. One of them is Hypatia, which even once did not married in the assertion that is "betrothed to truth", but what is the truth?

What is the internal truth of the person? The truth that bestows the mental health and the physiological health.

I was looking for truth symbol and found that at druidism (one of the nations of the Celtic), am Awen (inspiration in Welsh). The three of the rudiments of this symbol are understand of the truth, love of the truth and guarding of the truth.

So I decided to created this pendant that supposed to give inspiration to her truth, the truth that will bestow mental health & physiological.

White measurement

It's little bit difficult to create something to person that you never met, and I only know about her that she master in one stroke painting, make some sewing and scrapbooking.

I have a theme swap- white, but what I do with that?

So I made a little search and I found that Racheli as you know her as schnitzel (escallop...) likes vintage, words and something with humor. After some days I met her in the first time in scrap event here in Israel.

Some weeks ago I saw this post and I would love to try something like that and I thought it will be match to Racheli. I was looking for propriety picture on the net, I think I found it on flickr it was package of vintage sewing pattern.

So I had a picture and I was looking for propriety sentences to mix them with the picture, I found them in my library they were in old Hebrew Burda booklet.

It start with that words: "The first measurement" = White measurement;

And continue with that words:

"Is always an event to wait in suspense.

Where you get the first compliments again from your faithful assistant for this purpose .

If the problems form when you are measuring the paper sector on your body, you can just put an end them for ever.

Close the seams, stitches and if you have a zipper - stitches too.

Put dress and close the opening properly (mid to middle).

First, let your mind on the upper part of the dress - then start top-down... "

I typing that on my computer and start to play with all the ingredients until I satisfied.

I print the pattern and start to embroidery...And here is it.

Pink reversible tote

I created this little reversible tote for Anna in Poland, who knows her as pink-orange-red Ann.

I have fetish to scraps so I took most of the fabrics from my cosmopolitan "scrap bag", the blue one is only one that was FQ, and that one with tailor form bust are handmade by stamps.

The handles (the grey strips) were recycling from shutters.

I like the results, are you like that too?

Alice in Wonderland bowl

It was so much fun to create this paper mache big bowl for Alice in Wonderland swap in Israel.

The bowl outside with some hand drawing motif from Alice in Wonderland by acrylic paints on Hebrew book pages.

The bowl inside is the big mushroom, with Hebrew book page dots.

And the border is crochet with vintage thread from my grand mother (over than 50 years). I like the unique touch that it is making.

Should I do that?

Sunglasses Case

This is almost the last one swap that I participation, I take a break with swaps meanwhile.

The summer is here and the idea was to create sunglasses case to take out from your bag a beautiful case, not the regular one from optic store. So I decide to use my embellisher, and here we are.

I want to create that kind of bowl a long time ago and I found it appropriate to the feeling of that song. I catch separate word and put them together in this bowl.

I need to create something for kitchen useful swap, but kitchen for me is only place to warm food or drink something or bring foods to my animals.

In this swap my partner kitchen and sewing room in one place...So I decide to create something with double useful. She can use it as utensil holder or just put threads inside, what ever she wants.

A while ago I receive a ton of used cd, after I did A Luna Park Carousel. How many carousels can I do?

So I found CD Coasters Tutorial in the net. I tried once, it was nice, but it's not my taste, I give it another chance, and I change little bit the design. I love the one with solid color and pattern dot. What do you prefer?

Five Materials swap #2

At last in finally finished to create with those materials, as I wrote in previous post.

I decided to create a bookmark with my embellisher. I take some samples from rest of the fabrics and take some wool from my stash and here is it.

I host a swap in my country. This swap we call him in nickname Five Material Swap. The meaning is that you choose five materials and send him to your partner, your partner create something with that materials and send you back.

So I receive assorted materials, I choose part of them; one sock, one bias tape, 2 kinds of fabric, buttons and washers, and created a doorstop and planet to create one more thing in few days.

Recycle Bracelet

In few months ago, my friend gives me a box full of foundation of handles in bus. I didn't know what I can do with that. I try to use them in one swap and that's it.

Lately I host recycle swap in flickr group, and decided to use them for this swap. I saw pop top bracelet tutorial and the pop top look like that foundation, so why not try it with that material?
