Kindle Fireファーストレビュー

Kindle Fireが届いて約1ヶ月が立ちましたので、少しレビューを。

◇サイズ　

　7inch液晶は読書には最適なサイズだと思います。

　何と言っても、寝ながら本を読む事が出来ます。

単行本とかだと大きくて重いので、寝ながら読むには何とも勝手が悪いですよね。iPadもこの点ではしっくりこない。

左からiPhone5、Kindle Fire、初代iPad
iPhone/iPadではKindle Appを表示しています。

文字もKindle for iPhoneに比べて大きくて読みやすいです。

iPhoneで長時間読んでると、頭痛がしてきたりするので。。

　一方、Webブラウジングにはなんとも微妙なサイズ。

インターネット中心で使うのであれば、iPadかiPhoneが最適だと思います。

　

また、重さは395gと少し重め。
Kindle Paperwhiteが222gなので、1.5倍近い重さとなっており、満員電車でずっと片手で読んでいるのは辛いです。

◇コンテンツ

KindleのUI。購入した本が並びます。
下段にはレコメンドも表示されます。

2013年1月時点で約140万冊の品揃えと謳っていますが、物足りない印象は拭いきれません。

　欲しい本を検索しても出てこない事はしょっちゅう。

　一方ビジネス書については、イノベーションのジレンマやストーリーとしての競争戦略など、往年の名著をきちんと押さえていたりもします。

　HUNTER x HUNTERなど漫画も充実してきているのは魅力ですが、最新刊はまだKindle化されておらず、結局書店で購入しました。

　とはいえ、不定期に実施されるオンラインセールは魅力的。

2013年1月6日現在、ドラッガーのマネジメント［エッセンシャル版］が62%オフで￥800になっています。思わず即購入しました。

　中古市場でも中々値段が下がらない本が、安く、ワンクリックでお手軽に手に入るのはオンライン書籍特有のメリットだと思います。

◇総評

7inchタブレットで何をしたいかでベストなガジェットは異なると思いますが、電子書籍を読む事を中心に考えているのであれば、iPad miniの半額以下で買えるKindle Fireは現時点でベストな選択だと思います。

◇備考

　Amazon Kindle PowerFast急速充電器を合わせて購入したのですが、これは失敗でした。iPhoneを持っている人はiPhone用充電器のコネクタで代用可能ですので、必要ありません。

スターバックスで無料WiFiサービスの提供が知らぬ間に始まっていたので、ご紹介。

最初に登録が必要なのですが、こちらでメールアドレスとパスワードを設定するだけ。

携帯で申し込めば、その場でPCが使えるようになります。

もちろん登録も利用も無料です。

選ぶWiFiはat_STARBUCKS_Wi2です。

幸運にも、私のMacBookにはCitrix Xen Desktopが入っているので、スターバックスでいくらでも仕事ができるようになりました。

At first, you should register on this site.

It needs only your email address and password(of course you can decide it).

After that you can use the internet by your gadget free of charge.

Then you should select the below WiFi.

Uncommon x Fragment DesignのiPhone5ケース

HF氏のブログで紹介されていた、Uncommon x Fragment DesignのiPhoneケースを買ってみました。

USのオフィシャルサイトから直接購入しましたが、日本でも買えるみたいですね。
ケースは$34.95で送料は$15。
円高なので、複数個買えば日本で買うよりお得です。
カード決済で即手続き完了、10日程度で到着しました。

マルチカラーを選んでみたのですが、プリントがイメージよりくすんでいてチープ。。
質感もいまいちで少し残念。

一方、友人の選んだLeopardはいい感じ。

こちらが正解だったようです。

I've bought the uncommon x Fragment Design iPhone5 case which is introduced by Hiroshi Fujiwara's blog.

I ordered on US official site because of the recent strong yen.
They will ship internationally, and it cost is $15.
It is better if you buy with your friend because shipping cost is flat-rate.

I chosen a multi color one, but its texture and print is cheaper than image.

But Leopard one which is chosen by my friend looks good.

Leopard is the best choice.

iPad miniやNexus 7など、7インチタブレットの熾烈な覇権争いが始まっていますが、私はKindle Fireを予約しました。

理由は3つ。

①ジェフ・ベソス本人も認める(ほぼ)原価販売による圧倒的安さ
②iPadより小さく、持ち運びしやすい（電車で立ちながらでも読める)
③安価で豊富な海外コンテンツ(英語学習に最適)

12/19発売とまだ先ですが、いまから届くのが楽しみです。 <11>在庫量は不明ですが、Kindle Paperwhiteが人気のようで3G,WiFiモデル共に1/6の発送になっています。Kindle Fire/HDはまだ発売日に届くようです。

Apple and Google recently launched a new 7 inch tablet like iPad or Nexus 7.
But finally, I decided to buy Kindle Fire.

There are three reason.

1.ultimately cheap
Jeff Bezos admitted that its price almost equal to cost.

2.Smaller than iPad. Easy to bring
We can use even if in Japanese train.

3.Cheap and various foreign contents
It is best to learn English.

Kindle Fire will be delivered on 19th Dec.

M&Mの家具

伝説的内装屋のM&M。

エム＆エムについて Fashion Press 「M&M(エム＆エム)」は、裏原宿という文化を支えてきた内装クリエーター集団であり、インテリアブランド、ファッションブランド。アベイシングエイプのNIGOとアンダーカバーの高橋盾が原宿竹下通り構えた「NOWHERE」もM&Mが手がけた。そのほかネイバーフッド、シュプリームなどストリートファッションの中心的ブランドのほとんどがこのM&Mによって仕上げられた。ペンキや木材の使用、無骨で味のあるデザインを多くの人を魅了した。ショップだけではなく、レストラン、カフェなどのデザインも手掛けている。

都内で唯一家具を取り扱う、M&M専門店、Happy Ever Afterは目黒にあります。スツールとか、デスクとか、いいかんじでした。値段も割とリーズナブルです。詳細はここに詳しいです。

M&M is the legend of the interior designing company in Japan, especially in Harajuku. They had made the interior of Nowhere, which was included the Japanese Apparel brand, Undercover and A Bathing Ape.
And recently, they has also made the interior of Supreme Harajuku.

M&M furniture is now available at Happy Ever After, which is located in Tokyo, Meguro-ku. It's really cool, and it's not too expensive.

どちらもebayだと日本に比べて格段に安いですが、サイズも大きいので梱包が億劫なのか、"local pick-up only（取りに来い）"と。。
カリフォルニアは取りに行くには遠すぎる。

日本だとhhstyle.comやModernicaで購入できます。

ESU(Eames Storage Unit) was designed by eames for the Case Study House #8.
Currently, Modernica also deliver this storage as CSU(Case Study Unit).
CSU is official reprodut as of now, and it is cheaper than original one made by Harman Miller.

On ebay, these are cheaper than buying in Japan, but many sellers always say "local pick-up only".
California is too far to pick-up.

先日、Levi's OVERALLS THE ORIGINというイベントがリーバイス渋谷店で開催されました。

これは、そのお披露目時の動画ですが、リーバイスがオリジナルであることを証明し、その偉大さや貴重さを最大限まで引き出しています。

実物は、深遠な経年劣化を通じ、神々しいまでの色落ちでした。

こういうことを続けていただきたい。

Levi’s OVERALLS THE ORIGIN “THE FILM”　SLAMXHYPE

Coinciding with the Levi’s OVERALLS THE ORIGIN initiative which has seen some of the oldest denim from the iconic denim label reworked, the oldest pair of Levi’s denim that dates back to 1876, made an appearance in Japan at a recent launch. On hand was Historian, Lynn Downey who is the person responsible for this specific pair of denim and works at the Levi’s Staruss & Co. Archives. Speaking passionately about the denim, this video makes for great viewing.
Levi's OVERALLS THE ORIGINという有名なデニムレーベルが補修した、数本のビンテージデニムが展示されるイベントの開催に合わせて、1876年に作られた世界最古のデニムが日本で披露された。

IncaseがNike SBに所属するプロスケートボーダーのPaul Rodriguezと組んでスケーターのためのバッグコレクションを発表しました。

２回目のコラボになりますが、前回のものと比べてシックで大人っぽいデザインとカラーリングが施されています。

Incaseは元々はアップルストアなどで見かけるギーク向けのPCケース、バッグメーカーというイメージでしたが、最近ではA.P.Cやfragment designなどとコラボするなど、ファッションコンシャスなブランドへとシフトしているようですね。

私服でノーメイク、私物のトートでの撮影ですが、さすがの存在感です。

She’s barefoot, wearing her own clothes, no makeup and toting her own elegantly weathered monogrammed Alto bag. Yet Angelina Jolie looks radiant and completely in her element, reclining on a wooden boat in a verdant, lakeside landscape in Cambodia’s Siem Reap province. Jolie discovered the country in 2000 when she filmed “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider,” and it sparked her humanitarian activism.
She’s the latest celebrity to pose for Louis Vuitton’s popular “Core Values” campaign — and surely the only one who brought four children to the photo shoot, some of whom had to be shooed out of Annie Leibovitz’s frame.
“People are not used to seeing Angelina in this situation,” said Pietro Beccari, Vuitton’s executive vice president, unveiling the image exclusively to WWD. “I like the fact that it’s a real moment. This travel message we give through personal journeys is a fundamental one for the brand.”
The ad is slated to break in the International Herald Tribune on Wednesday, followed by a range of news, general interest and lifestyle publications, including Vanity Fair.
Beccari declined to disclose budgets for the media buy, or comment on reports Vuitton paid the American actress millions for the shoot. He would only say Jolie donated an undisclosed portion of her fees to a charity.
The campaign is expected to run for at least 18 months alongside a few other recent “core values” personalities, including Bono and Sean Connery. Vuitton introduced the advertising concept in 2007 as a way to trumpet its travel roots and showcase its perennial monogrammed leather goods as a balance to its fashion-driven marketing — and to reach a broader audience. Other personalities who have posed for Vuitton include Mikhail Gorbachev, Keith Richards and Catherine Deneuve.

Also on Wednesday, Vuitton plans to post a teaser on its Web site, louisvuittonjourneys.com/cambodia, foreshadowing an interview with Jolie that will be posted later in the month. In it, she is expected to discuss how her visit to Cambodia was a life-changing experience, awakening her to the plight of Third World countries. She adopted her eldest son, Maddox, from Cambodia and she and Brad Pitt established the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation, which is active in community development and conservation in the country.

“This campaign is about a very special person and a very special journey,” Beccari said.

Nujabesこと瀬場潤氏が亡くなったのが、2010年2月26日。
もう1年以上立つのですね。

Nubabes＋Shing02のLuv(sic）はこれで最期になるのかもしれませんが、それにふさわしい名曲です。

Shing02のオフィシャルサイトではShing02＋JumpsterによるPart.5が無料でダウンロードできます。

ちなみに自分はPart1が一番好きです。

フロントはレッドとブルーの単色で、バックにフローラルモチーフとブランドロゴがプリントされています。
香港のI.T.その他特定のショップで発売されるとのことですが、日本でも展開されるかは不明です。

Dr.ロマネリが、ラグジュアリーウォッチカスタムメーカーであるBamford Watch Departmentと手を組んで、ロレックスのカスタムモデルを発表しました。

ボディはミルガウスで、ダイヤルにブランドロゴがペイントされ、長短針はロマネリのトレードマークであるシザーズに付け替えられています。

相変わらず、センスいいですね。

Today we get a first better look at the upcoming collaboration between Bamford Watch Department and Dr. Romanelli. The LA based designer decided to work on the Rolex Milgauss, giving it some nice added details on the dial. In the coming days more news on the actual release of the watch should be revealed.

ロサンゼルスのMOCAで開催中の”Art in the Streets"を記念して、リーバイスは10組のアーティストとコラボレーションジャケットを製作しました。

写真はグラフィティアーティストとしてMr.Aを生み出し、青山/パリのクラブシーンを牽引するル・バロンのプロデュースでも有名なアンドレ・サレヴァとのコラボレーションモデル。

50着限定で販売され、収益は全てロサンゼルスのコミュニティに寄付されるようです。

Levi’s x MOCA x Andre Trucker Jacket SLAMXHYPE
To commemorate the ongoing “Art in the Streets” exhibition going on at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, Levi’s has invited 10 artists to create a unique design for its classic trucker jacket as part of a limited edition capsule collection. Designed by French artist Andre, the jacket is made from indigo-dyed raw denim and features his iconic “Mr. A” character printed on the back in white. Limited to only 50 units, the jacket is available exclusively through the MOCA’s Geffen Contemporary with all proceeds being donated toward various charities within the local community.

香港のNew Mondayという雑誌とのコラボレーションで、ブラックとレッドの2色展開とのこと。

価格は未発表のようです。日本では発売されなそう。。

New Monday x Levi’s 501 Camera Straps Hypebeast Staff
Hong Kong publication New Monday celebrates “501 Day” with a new set of collaborative camera straps produced by Levi’s. Paying tribute to the brand’s iconic 501 denim, the straps come in two colors featuring either black or red accents. Premium leather detailing juxtaposes nicely against classic raw denim with trademark Levi’s branding finishing off the superb look. Price details haven’t been disclosed but additional looks into the straps are offered here.

大戦モデルが出来る経緯や、プリシュランクデニムについて言及されています。

⑪Back pocket stitching, banned! During World War II the U.S. government told the company that it could not stitch its “Arcuate” back pocket design on the 501R jeans, because it was decorative and not a functional use of thread, an essential item for the war effort. So, LS&CO. painted the Arcuate stitching on the pockets of the 501R (men’s) and 701R (women’s) jeans “For The Duration” of the war.
バックポケットのステッチがなくなった。第二次世界大戦中、アメリカ政府は501Rジーンズのバックポケットのデザインである”Arcuate"を禁止した。なぜならそれは装飾であり、戦争への協力のための本質的なアイテム、糸としての機能性を持っていなかったためである。よって、リーバイスは”For The Duration（戦争の間）"、501R（メンズ）と701R（レディス）ジーンズのバックポケットにアキュエイトステッチ柄のペイントを施した。

In the early 1960s, Levi Strauss & Co introduced its first preshrunk 501R jean, a new concept for old timers who were used to buying their jeans a few inches too bit to allow for the specially loomed fabric to shrink to fit them.

定番のVans×Supremeのコラボで、The EraとThe Chukkaの2種類のスニーカーが5/28から販売開始。

The Eraはアニマルプリントで3色展開とのことですが、グリーンはスイカみたいです。

The Chukkaはチェックのヒールタブ。

Vans and Supreme present the second collaboration of the season. The Era comes in three colorways with animal print on the canvas upper and leather heel tab. The Chukka comes with a canvas upper, leather lining and leather heel tab detail in several colorways. The two collaborative sneakers will release online and in-store on May 26th and in Japan on May 28th.
