Britain's Princess Eugenie, daughter of the Duke & Duchess of York and granddaughter of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, was the latest in a line-up of high profile guests visiting Thailand's premier 'luxury lifestyle resort community' the Royal Phuket Marina over the recent Easter holiday weekend.

Pictured (second from left), the young princess was accompanied by four friends for lunch and a boat trip around Phuket's famous Phang Nga Bay which is renowned for its iconic James Bond Island which featured in the 'Man with the Golden Gun' with Roger Moore, as well as Phi Phi Island which appeared in the film The Beach, starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

Princess Eugenie and her friends were guests of marina developer Gulu Lalvani, a close friend of the British royal family. The tycoon founder of Binatone, the world's second largest manufacturer of digital cordless phones, is partly based in London and features regularly on the Financial Times' annual Rich List.

Princess Eugenie, 19, is the second daughter of Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and Sarah, Duchess of York. She is on a gap year before university, having completed her A-levels at Britain's prestigious Marlborough College.

Royal Phuket Marina is becoming a magnet for the world's celebrities and socialites looking to escape the limelight and enjoy the idyllic lifestyle of Phuket. Gulu Lalvani recently welcomed tennis star Martin Navratilova while his Christmas guest list included Hong Kong entrepreneur and Shanghai Tang founder Sir David Tang, model Kate Moss, British heiress and fashion icon Daphne Guinness, London property tycoon Nick Candy, Louis Vuitton CEO Yves Carcelle and Japanese designer Kenzo.

Located on Phuket's eastern seaboard overlooking scenic Phang Na Bay, Royal Phuket Marina is Thailand's first world-class luxury lifestyle community rivaling top marina resort communities in Europe and the Caribbean.

It was developed by tycoon Gulu Lalvani, founder of Binatone, the world's second largest manufacturer of digital cordless phones, whose vision is to promote Phuket as a world class yachting hub in one of the world's most scenic and assessable locations.

Royal Phuket Marina has become a popular entertainment and lifestyle hub with open air restaurants and bars overlooking mega yachts moored in the Mediterranean-style marina.

Following the successful completion and sale of Phase I with its luxury condominiums and penthouses, Royal Phuket Marina has just completed its unique 'Aquaminium' penthouse apartments which come complete with their own integral boat berth as well as a series of ultra luxury private villas, also with private berths, which complete Phase II of the complex.

More than half of the Royal Phuket Marina development is devoted to leisure, shopping, recreation, and dining set amidst landscaped gardens overlooking the 350-berth marina.

Tourist arrivals from the Middle East to Thailand are expected to dramatically increase following the launch of a daily A380 Emirates service to Suvarnabhumi Airport on June 1.

This launch reflects how much the airline expects visitors to increase to Thailand,กฑ said Chumpol Silpa-archa, Thailandกฏs Tourism and Sports Minister, during a meeting with the chairman of the Emirates Group, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Maktoum, at the Arabian Travel Mart in Dubai.

The Emirates chairman confirmed that Emirates would begin operating its Dubai-Bangkok service on schedule.
Typically, superjumbos are reserved for long-haul flights only, and the Dubai-Bangkok flight, with a duration of six hours, is considered short-haul.

Thailand's tourism minister said that other international airports in the country, including Chiang Mai and Phuket, were prepared to extend services to Emirates as well.

Emirates' A380 aircraft is configured to carry 489 passengers and features luxurious facilities including lounges, flat beds, shower spas and massage-equipped suites in the first class cabin.

Business class passengers are provided with a new generation in seating known as intelligent seats and with flat beds.

Deputy Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Juthaporn Rerngronasa, said that the daily service from Dubai was a hopeful sign for the country's tourism sector.

Prasaat Phanom Rung and Muang Tam are located in Buriram.Prasaat Phanom Rung is one of the most significant Khmer monuments in Thailand. It was built in the 10th-13th century A.D. Phanom Rung was a Hindu Saivite (Shiva) monastery. Sculptures also present images of Vishnu. A processional way leads through Naga bridges to the main sanctuary. Lintels, pediments depict the Hindu Gods Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, with also scenes of the Ramayana. The most famous lintel (Vishnu Anantasayin) depicts Vishnu reclining on the back of the Naga King Ananta. This lintel disappeared for many years outside the country, but was recently returned. The setting of Phanom Rung is quite scenic, with views of the countryside all around. The site is probably the most visited Khmer monument in Thailand. If you want it quieter, be sure to arrive before 10 A.M.Muang Tam ('low city') is located nearby, and is worth a visit all by itself. Around its main structure, five 'brick' towers and ponds with lotus flowers are present. There is not much supervision and school children seem to use the area as a playing ground.

Lopburi

Lopburi is located 150 km north of Bangkok. It houses interesting historical monuments and a national museum with lots of archaeological finds.Lopburi had its greatest days during the Ayudhaya period, when King Narai the Great made the city his second capital. A lot of diplomatic activity with western nations took place at Lopburi during that time.
Below you will find images of archaeologic finds in the Lopburi area. Prior to the Ayudhaya period, Lopburi was a provincial capital of the Khmer empire, and this is reflected in statues and architecture. The city is presently also known for its monkey colonies. They are present by the hundreds at Phra Prang Sam Yod, probably ruining the monument in the process. Phra Sri Mahathat is located on a large compound, housing many chedis and smaller prangs.

Lamphun

Lamphun can be reached in a little bit more than half an hour from Chiangmai, and makes for a worthy half day trip.
Lamphun was the centre of a small Haripunchai settlement (Mon culture), and remained independent from both the Khmer and the Thais for a considerable time(750-1281)
The main attraction are Wat Phra That Haripunchai and Wat Chama Thewi. The buildings are Haripunchai style and centuries old, though most of it was not built during the Haripunchai area proper, but in later years. Interesting, different style of temple. Both mentioned temples are fairly active and further expanding.

Images of Kanchanaburi (bridge over River Kwai)

Kanchanaburi is located about 130 km west of Bangkok. Its environment is rather pleasant with quite a few rivers, and pleasant river resorts.
One of the major attractions to foreigners is the bridge over the river Kwai, immortalized in the movie of the same name. The bridge is still standing, part of it original (it was destroyed after all during the war). Closeby are the Allied War Cemeteries, and the JEATH war museum. Many, both locals and prisoners of war, perished in constructing the railway from Thailand to Burma, needed as a supply line for their troops during WW II by the Japanese.

Bangkok bars and bargirls...Thailand's nightlife : the ultimate male fantasy

Thailand, being a tropical country, abounds with snakes of great varieties, poisonous as well as harmless. Each year a large number of casualties are caused by venomous snakebite. Therefore the Thai Red Cross Society deemed it necessary to establish a snake farm to keep different poisonous snakes for venom collection in order to produce antivenine sera for treatment of snake poisoning. Dr. L. Robert, the first director of the Queen Saovabha Memorial Institute, received contributions from foreigners residing in this country, and with the money collected, a snake farm was built in the premises of the Institute. This was the second snake farm established in the world and was officially opened on November 22, 1923. The Queen Saovabha Memorial Institute constitutes the Science Division of the Thai Red Cross Society which was formerly named Pasteur Institute. The main function of the Institute is the manufacture of vaccines and sera.
The snake farm is an attraction in Bangkok for tourists from all parts of the world. It is visited by scientists, educational bodies and distinguished visitors. Different kinds of poisonous snakes found in the country are kept for venom extraction which is demonstrated to the public at scheduled hours. These venomous snakes are brought in alive by snakecatchers who are farmers by profession and they are paid for at prices according to size and species.
Poisonous snakes found in Thailand are Cobra, King Cobra, Banded Krait, Russell's Viper, a few species of Pit Vipers and some species of Sea Snakes.
Numerous kinds of snakes other than mentioned above, though common in this country are not of importance to human lives because they are slightly poisonous or nonpoisonous. Their bites often cause alarm but generally are not dangerous.

Five of the best Christmas markets

Miss the high-street mayhem and head to one these traditional Christmas markets to stock up on all your festive needs.
1. Budapest
Budapest exudes romance throughout the Christmas season, with twinkling lights and snow-blanketed squares setting the scene. The biggest market is at Vőrősmarty Square and is the only one to hold an official certificate from the Hungarian Society of Folk Arts & Crafts, meaning that all of the products sold at the market have to be handmade and traditional. Visitors can pick up wrought-iron candlesticks, tree decorations, brightly painted wooden toys and glassware, all in the shadow of the snow capped Buda hills. Get into the festive spirit with a touch of ice skating in the Városliget city park or relax in the open-air Széchenyi Baths. The festivities kick off on November 29 and stalls open from 9am until late daily. For more accommodation and travel information see our Budapest city guide.
2. Copenhagen

Copenhagen's Tivoli Gardens embrace the absolute essence of Christmas. Europe's first amusement park opens its gardens each December with throngs of brightly painted stalls selling all manner of festive accoutrement from hand-carved angels, to candles and wooden dolls. Try a glass of glogg (mulled wine with liquor and spices) or aebleskiver (hot apple dumplings). Rides are still open during the day, however it's after dark when the Christmas charm comes to life as the park glitters with thousands of lights and knit-clad ice skaters glide around the lake. The market is running until December 28 and opens from 11am until late daily. For more accommodation and travel information see our Copenhagen city guide.
3. Barcelona

Each year since 1786 Barcelona's glittering Fira de Santa Llúcia market kicks off on December 13. The gothic cathedral and its surrounding cobbled streets become entrenched in the Christmas spirit with stalls selling handmade artefacts and nativity scenes carved out of clay. The Catalan-inspired fair adds a quirky twist to the traditional festivity, with figurines of the defecating caganer (‘Christmas Crapper') - fashioned in all its squatting glory. The tradition dates back to the 18th century and the bizarre statues are thought to symbolise hope and fertility for the coming year. The market is open until Christmas Eve from 10am-8pm daily. For more accommodation and travel information see our Barcelona city guide.
4. Vienna

Christmas is serious business for the Viennese, with the inhabitants of the Austrian capital opting for traditional and refined rather than tacky and commercial. In fact, they have completely outlawed the notion of red-suited Santa Claus and have created their own icon - Weiner Christkindl, a blond-locked maiden. In homage to the city's creation, the Christkindlmarkt opens on November 15 in Rathausplatz. Looming over the square is the neo-gothic building of the town hall, which opens its numbered curtains one by one in advent calendar fashion. On sale are beeswax candles, decorations and wooden toys, as well as warming drinks and kitsch charms. For more accommodation and travel information see our Vienna city guide.
5. Berlin
With around 60 markets across the city, Berlin does Christmas full pelt. The most popular market is the one around the Kaiser Wilhelm Gedächtniskirche, which attracts around four million visitors each year. Around 100 stalls cluster around the Memorial Church, selling traditional arts and crafts as well as more radical artworks from some of the city's cutting-edge artists and designers. The interesting collection of antique and contemporary jewellery make perfect Christmas gifts. For more accommodation and travel information see our Berlin city guide.
Best of the rest:
Tallinn - Grab some quirky hand-knitted jumpers and juniper wood toys from one of the 50 stalls in the Town Hall Square.London - Borough Market on London's Southbank may not technically be a Christmas market (since it's a year round fixture), but it does conjure the festive vibe with the scent of mulled wine and holly-strewn stalls.

Many tourists when talking about Krabi think of a province where collect more than 100 attractive islands. Anyway, not only islands, the coasts of Krabi also look great, such as Ao Railay, and Ao Nang. Though not as fantastic as Ao Raylay, Ao Nang is a favorite place of Krabi tourists as many businesses-restaurants, bars, banks, travels agencies, etc.-are located there. Besides sun-bathing and swimming in dawn, you can hang out with friends in such restaurants and bars in dusk. What you can eat here is varied, from sea food, Italian food to McDonald! If you are too lazy to find other restaurants, you can have a meal from the hotel you stay as most of hotels also have their own restaurants with not much different costs from other restaurants. Hotels and resorts here have many classes, from 150 baht to 9,900 (approximately).
The transportation is quite comfortable. Tourists may get a service from a public mini bus in a reasonable price, (well, I can't say it's cheap but it's acceptable in a tourist area) or a taxi in a higher cost to be more comfortable. Another choice for tourist is renting a motorcycle, only 200 baht a day, then you can travel around the beach, also other tourist places. To go to islands: Phi Phi Island, Bamboo Island, Chicken Island, and others, You can buy a package tour from loads of travel agencies. It's very comfortable as you have many choices-private tour or public, boats or speed boats-of course, different choices have different costs. These prices include scubas fruits and other comforts for tourists. In case of going to islands of Krabi by yourself, there're boats of local people waiting for you on the beach.
The cost of living in Ao Nang is quite high as it's a business area like Pattaya or Patong Beach in Phuket. As a result, some native tourists may complain about high prices of food or services (even McDonald is more expensive than in Bangkok). This maybe one thing tourists who are planning to travel in Ao Nang should know.
The guards in front of the Palace attract tourist with their calmness, stillness and a deep feeling how aggressive they are suppose to be, make the Palace appear so important. At some point, I think they enjoy it when they are on duty.

Jazz in Bangkok

For jazz lovers, they must have been waiting for their bigwig "Hua Hin Jazz Festival." We believe all of them who were in the festival must have enjoyed and had a great time. If you love jazz but many reasons caused you to miss this festival, there are still some cool places in Bangkok where you can actually have your own "jazz-fest" as often as you can!

The Ambiance at the Living Room and GRammy Award winning Carmen Bradford "It Simply Swings!" This is all about the Living Room at Sheraton Grande Sukumvit. The venue leads in live jazz performance with nice and comfortable ambience. In this month from 17th-July 20th, the venue hosts Grammy award-winning jazz diva, Carmen Bradford back again. If you love the classic jazz with vocal, the evening with Carmen Bradford at the Living Room is waiting for you!

Bamboo Bar at the Oriental Bangkok Bamboo Bar at the Oriental Bangkok is another place to hear the rhythm of jazz for live performance featuring international jazz vocalist. The venue is decorated in jungle-like style and not too crowded with cozy atmosphere. Now, Bamboo bar welcomes a sultry jazz vocalist Frankye Kelly who will give you a sensational jazz night every Monday till Saturday from March 1st – June 30th.
Another venue hosting world's famous jazz singer is the Diplomat Bar at Conrad Bangkok hotel. You can loose yourself with the sound of jazz music as well as the taste of great cocktails among the sophisticated decoration in spacious area. The place is usually crowded on Friday nights so you should make a reservation. The venue currently hosts a talented American pure soul vocalist Ernesta Dunbar who will light up your evening Mondays till Saturdays from April 24th – June 30th.
Apart from hotel venues, there is the Saxophone Pub and Restaurant near the Victory Monument. The venue suits those who craze about Jazz and Blues. The place is spacious yet often crowded. It hosts the live Jazz and Blues by the local musicians but skilled as international artists.

The food alone is really reason enough for a trip to Thailand. Curries, fruit shakes, stir fries, fresh fish made a zillion ways - and that's just the beginning. Food in Thailand can be as cheap and easy as 20 baht phat thai (Thai fried noodles) cooked at a street stall or as expensive and complicated as a $100 ten-course meal by a royal chef served in one of Bangkok's 5 star hotels.
Since most backpackers will be sticking closer to the first than the second, one of the great things about Thailand is that food from stalls and tiny sidewalk restaurants is usually quite safe. Unlike some Asian countries, travellers should worry more about overeating or too much curry spice than about unclean kitchens and bad food. In fact, street restaurants, where you can see what you'll get and everything is cooked on the spot (usually in a pool of germ- and diet-killing vegetable oil) can be a safe option.

Shopping

Thailand is a shopper's paradise and many visitors to Bangkok in particular end up spending much of their time in the countless markets and malls. Particularly good buys are clothing, both cheap locally produced streetwear and fancy Thai silk, and all sorts of handicrafts. Electronics and computer gear are also widely available, but prices are slightly higher than in Singapore, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur.
A Thai speciality are the night markets found in almost every town, the largest and best-known of which include Suan Lum Night Bazaar in Bangkok and the Night Bazaar in Chiang Mai. Here a variety of vendors from designers to handicraft sellers have stalls selling goods which cannot normally be found in malls and day markets. Most night markets also have large open air food courts attached.
You can also find marvelously tacky modern clothing accessories. Witness pink sandals with clear plastic platform heels filled with fake flowers. Night markets along the main roads and Bangkok's Mahboonkrong (MBK) Mall, near the Siam skytrain stop, are particularly good sources. Not to be left out is what is often touted as the world's biggest weekend bazaar - The Chatuchak Weekend Market [25] or knowned to locals simply as "JJ" Market. Chatuchak sells a myriad of products ranging from clothes to antiques, covers over 35 acres (1.1 km square) and is growing by the day!
Haggling is the norm and often market and road-side vendors will try to charge you as much as they think you can afford to pay. It's not uncommon to buy something, walk outside, and find somebody who bought the same item for half or one third what you paid (or even less). Try to figure out the item's rough value first — adjacent stalls, government-run fixed price shops and even hotel gift shops are a good starting point — and you'll find that prices drop drastically when the seller realizes you have some idea of what it costs.

As Rai Leh is a peninsula surrounded by ocean and mountains, final access can only be by boat. Long-tails depart from Ao Nang (10 minutes, 100 baht/person, minimum 6 people) and Krabi (30 minutes) on demand, making those towns the gateways to Rai Leh. It's also possible to access Rai Leh via regular ferries that run between Ko Lanta, Ko Phi Phi, and Phuket (more frequent in the November-May dry season - times available from local travel agents, or check online ferry schedules).
The Krabi, Phuket, Ko Lanta and Ko Phi Phi articles have information on reaching the gateways to Rai Leh from throughout Thailand. From Bangkok there are flights to Krabi and Phuket, direct bus services, and trains to Surat Thani with onward connections by bus.
NB: If departing from Ao Nang, be aware that you're expected to walk out several meters into the surf before getting on a boat (depending on the tide). It might be best to change into clothes suitable for getting wet, or at the very least be sure you don't have more luggage than you can carry a few meters into the ocean.

Chiang Mai

How did you find yourself eating hot-dog breakfasts on Kho Pha-Ngan?

It all began with an order of Haad Yao Fried Rice, a bizarre concoction of rice fried with ketchup and chicken, enveloped in a thin omelette. Now, I've eaten lots of Thai dishes in nearly every region of Thailand and have never come across anything quite like Haad Yao Fried Rice. I'd also never seen a green curry the way it was served the next night: soupy and impotent and laden with carrots, cauliflower and potatoes. In fact, once I actively sought it out, I began to discover an entire repertoire of food on Ko Pha-Ngan's Haad Yao that I'd never come across, dishes that weren't quite Thai, but that weren't quite foreign either. Western dishes one would be unlikely to find in the West, and Thai dishes one would be hard-pressed to find in the village up the road. There were dull flavours, inaccurate interpretations of Western dishes, bland takes on Thai, facsimile menus and mystery ingredients. I called this genre of cuisine Backpacker Food.
There were dull flavours, inaccurate interpretations of Western dishes, bland takes on Thai, facsimile menus and mystery ingredients.
The simple fact that backpacker food exists begs the question, why does one need comfort food when on the road? Isn't the point of travelling to try new things? Admittedly, there are times when a tender tummy might cry out for familiar flavours and textures. Perhaps this is when a queasy Italian would order the Spaghetti 'Cabonara', or a homesick native of the islands the Pork Chop Hawaiian. (I'm still not exactly sure where Contigi Prawn, Fried Chicken Mayonnaise, No Name Falafel-Style Chicken or Cauliflower Cheese come from.) But the ubiquity of such menu items suggests that they are the norm rather than the exception.

Backpacker breakfasts in particular seemed to have the least in common with the local food. The English, with their Full English Breakfast (coffee or tea, baked beans, toast, fried bacon, fried eggs, fried cheese and fried mushrooms) seemed to dominate this area. The Swiss, with their muesli, often little more than uncooked oatmeal with a few cornflakes thrown in, have also had a palpable, though unpalatable, impact. And the ubiquitous 'American Breakfast' of instant coffee, lighter-than-air white bread, warm hotdogs and oily fried eggs isn't doing much to promote the image of American food abroad, and certainly isn't a good way to start the day.
If you do make an effort to go 'local', Thai-style backpacker food is often just as bizarre, if not more so, than the quasi-Western food. Authentic southern Thai cooking is a vibrant seafood-based cuisine that is among the most full-flavoured in the country, but the guesthouse kitchens of Haad Yao served up consistently weak Thai-style salads, limp tasteless stir-fries, barely-there curries, and of course, when all else failed, mediocre phat thai.
Backpacker breakfasts in particular seemed to have the least in common with the local food.
Even on Bangkok's Khao San Road, nestled in the heart of a city where one's stomach is spoilt for choice, backpacker food still rules. Along the strip you'll find carts selling greasy fried noodles that are phat thai in name only, tables hawking yogurt and muesli, shwarma stalls, well-stocked drink carts, and - in what has become a virtual cottage industry - vendors making fruit smoothies and fresh-squeezed orange juice.
Off the street, Khao San Road's guesthouse restaurant menus are more expansive than those of Haad Yao, but the flavours are generally the same. The area's saving grace is its abundance of cheap and relatively authentic Israeli food. Generally bland, mostly vegetarian and inherently accessible, dishes such as falafel, hummus and pita bread are backpacker foods in spirit if not in practice.

Back on Haad Yao, if the lack of authentic Thai food was getting to you, you could always order American Fried Rice, rice fried with ketchup, sliced hotdogs and sweet raisins. Despite the name, the dish is found all over Thailand, and is particularly popular among children and poor students. It was, as far as I could tell, the only truly Thai dish on the menu.

Wat Suan Dok, Chiang Mai

Wat Suan Dok is now sponsoring a two-day, free-of-charge meditation retreat - certainly one of the most unusual ways to spend a Tuesday night in Chiang Mai.
Formerly known by backpackers primarily for its Monk Chat programme, Wat Suan Dok is now sponsoring a two-day, free-of-charge meditation retreat - certainly one of the most unusual ways to spend a Tuesday night in Chiang Mai. The retreat begins every Tuesday at 2:30pm with a brief series of lectures explaining the basics of Buddhist thought. Following three hours of meditation and an early bed call, participants rise at 5am the next morning to the sound of a gong. More meditation, chanting, and even alms-giving follow; the retreat ends that day at 1:30pm. The retreat is understandably popular, so call the temple (tel: 0 5327 8967) well in advance to book.
To participate in Wat Suan Dok's Monk Chat, during which foreigners are welcome to speak with monks and novices about nearly every aspect of their lives, simply arrive at the temple a few minutes before its 5pm start time on any Monday, Wednesday or Friday. Monks chat freely until 7pm.

"NONG NOENG" CROWNED MISS TIFFANY‘S UNIVERSE 2008, PATTAYA

A spokesperson for Madonna has defended the singer‘s performance in London last night, which has come under attack by fans. A large proportion of the pop stars fan base have criticised the sound quality of the concert at Wembley Stadium, while others have complained about Madonna's late arrival on stage. Thursday night's concert, part of Madonna's Sticky and Sweet tour, received rave reviews. But hundreds of concert-goers inundated message boards saying they had been let down by poor sound quality at Wembley Stadium. Prices ranged from £65 to £160 to see Madonna play at the venue, where Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Hudson were in the audience. One wrote: "The sound for those of us in the seated areas was very, very poor... During a number of the songs being performed, people around me were discussing the price of bread - really".
Another wrote on website itiswhatever.com: "Audio was dreadful." A fan said of the only English date on the star's tour: "So many people were leaving before even halfway through the show. Near me there were a few boos and people losing interest... At times you would see her mouth move and the sound a few seconds later... at times we couldn't even hear what song it was she was playing."Another wrote on the site: "The sound was terrible, we were sat in block 527 and we could not hear half of the songs, the baseline drowned everything out, absolutely the worst concert I have been to. There were riots going on outside our block as people couldn't see the show and couldn't hear the lyrics."Another stated: "Spent most of the evening lining up to sign the complaints book as the staff could do nothing".Radio stations also received complaints. In a statement to the London Paper, a spokesperson said: "Stage times are only guidelines. I was at the gig and the sound was fine."Despite enjoying the concert, one fan said that transport problems afterwards had "completely ruined" her evening. At the same night, her husband, Guy Ritchie celebrated his 40th birthday with a low-key party at his favorite London pub, while his wife Madonna made an early exit. The pop superstar joined other guests, including Kate Moss' boyfriend Jamie Hince and Sting's wife Trudie Styler, at the couple's Mayfair bar.But Madonna reportedly left promptly at 10 p.m., leaving her husband to continue the festivities into the early hours of the morning. The concert, the second of only two UK dates on the singer's Sticky & Sweet world tour, was watched by 90,000 people, including a host of celebrities. The elaborate show featured four sections: 'Pimp', 'Old School', 'Gypsy' and 'Rave'. The 50-year-old opened the show singing Candy Shop, a track from her latest album, Hard Candy.
Actresses Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Hudson were spotted in the crowd. Penelope Cruz and Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas were also reportedly there. The singer thanked God and her friends during her performance. She also announced she was pleased it had not rained. Her dance routines were energetic. The yoga and gym fanatic even managed to skip through one track.
