Releasing her first single since leaving Knighthouse, MoCheddah under her new label Cheddah Music release the track Louder. This one caters to the house/dance genre which I’m not feeling quite so much thanks to the auto-tune overkill. MoCheddah has great talent and hopefully we hear more of her old/original stuff in singles to come. Peep the video below.

Jazz singer/composer Teni makes our list this week. This is the first I’m hearing from the afro-soul artist and her music is pretty impressive. From performing with her band The Afro-Renaissance or on occassion Fela Kuti’s Egypt 80 her song Lion Heart boasts a track rich in African culture.

Popular actress Funke Akindele yesterday walked down the aisle with her boo Kenny Almaroof in Lagos, Nigeria. The church wedding and reception rounded up a week of wedding events for the couple, with their trditional engagement and Nikkai taking place early in the week.

When rumours of Funke Akindele’s upcoming nuptials began circulating the blogs a few weeks ago her PR denied it saying she was having an engagement and the wedding proper was set to take place in December. Well we now know that story was only sent out to throw people off her real wedding date.

Funke made an absolutely stunning bride in a strapless gown with crystal detailing, which she rocked with an up do. She topped off the entire look with chandelier diamond earings and bracelet. Nicely done Funke…Jenifa will be so proud of you

Also on the red carpet was Kanye’s girlfriend Kim Kardashian.

The movie premiered last night 24th May in Cannes, across 7 screens and D’Banj was there with the GOOD Music crew ( no photograph yet of him), also present at the premiere were Jay Z and Kanye’s new girlfriend (?) Kim Kardashian.

Cruel Summer is a 30 minute short, filmed in Doha, Qatar. Accoring to GQ Editor Logan Hill who tweeted from the Cannes premiere:

Cruel Summer is the story of a Lamborghini car thief who falls for a beautiful blind Arabic girl who’s father will let them marry if he can help her see. So he (Kid Cudi) does using strings that lead her around palace to play music.

Kanye West says it’s a work in progress but it’s wildly stylish, huge booming soundtrack, Vanessa beecroft production design. Immersive fun.

Kanye says he had to get script approval in Qatar. He needed 20 camels, 100 extras, and around 20 Lambos.

His female star (Sarah A., an intern at Doha Film Institute, pictured above) is the star of Cruel Summer.

The film features fashion he designed and pieces by local Arabic designers, shot in 4 days, 3 months start to almost-finish.

Amanda Palmer of Doha Film Inst says Cruel Summer will premiere November 19 as part of festival in Doha.

The @kanyewest Cruel Summer music was all-new (Cudi confirms) and was the best part–big complex production, huge beats.

I guess fashion magazine shoots is what the country really needs right now…don’t you think? Maybe the publicity generated from this will eliminate the Boko Haram problem, or perhaps give us constant power supply and maybe even hold the answer to eradicating corruption in public office.
