IanJ- Payphone Ft. Steve Mast

2012-05-09T17:02:00.004-04:00

I know it has been a few months now, but I have decided to bring TCSwag back for the summer. I thought a great way of bringing it back would be by introducing Payphone. It's another one of those really chill songs, that I have always had a soft spot for. I know IanJ has a few different versions of this but see what you think of Payphone by IanJ.

Sol-2020

2012-01-11T16:59:00.000-05:00

Being off my music grind for a while, this is the first time I stumbled upon Sol. I found him while looking around GMAD, and I'm glad I did. From what I read about him, I gather all his tracks are just as chill as this one, and if you know me at all, you know that's what I am into. This song does it to me, and just puts me into that good mood. Check it out, 2020 by Sol.

Return of TCSwag- Levels Remix

2012-01-11T16:31:00.000-05:00

Hey Guys, Sorry that "That College Swag" has been MIA for a while. Things in my life really kicked up in mid November, and I was unable to find the time to keep the site up to date. But what's important is that I'm back, and the posts will once again begin to come to you daily.

I'm going to start you off with a little bit older of a song from Skrillex, but it is something I definitely want to post about just in case anybody happened to miss it. Last week me and some of my friends went up to Canada for a College Xmas Break trip and it felt like this song was on repeat. Definitely check this out, Levels Remix by Skrillex.

Blue Slide Park

2011-11-08T16:46:00.000-05:00

Aye, power is finally back in the 860. So it's time to give you all a new post, the big story today is, of course, Blue Slide Park. So how could I not post about it? Mac Miller released his first album today and it already reached number 1 on iTunes. All the hype has been worth it, the only complaint I really have is that all the best songs were released before the album even dropped! Besides that Blue Slide Park is DOPE. And you all have to go and check it out, download it off iTunes to support Mac.

2011-10-26T12:43:00.000-04:00

I've been slacking on my posting lately and I saw this and I knew I had to get back on my grind. Matt Scully is one of my old friends back from my high school summer days in the OS. I don't know how he did it but he managed to make a surprisingly catchy song with some REAL lyrics. This song just describes my college life, along with most of you other bros lives in the college scene. Peep it, you wont be disappointed.

Machine Gun Kelly

2011-10-20T12:30:00.003-04:00

This rapper from Cleveland has been creating buzz in the Hip-Hop industry. As of late, he's been signed to P-Diddy's label "Bad Boy Records". His mixtape "Lace Up" has been creating lots of talk on Datpiff.com. His delivery is normally at a blistering pace, but MGK can slow it down for a few tracks and spit fire. This rapper should definitely have your attention because, he's climbing up extremely fast and will be a force to be reckoned with. Check him out on BET's "Cypher" as well as his mixtapes.

August Coupe- Out of Town

2011-10-19T19:06:00.000-04:00

Ever been in love with someone who might not be in your group of people? Well August Coupe can tell you all about it in this track. Great song, my own wish is that turned up the vocals a little bit, but the background track can hold its own. Don't blame me if "I'm in love with someone out of town" is stuck in your head for a while. Check out "Out of Town" by August Coupe out, I'm feeling it, real catchy.

Chris Cab- Pumped Up Kicks

2011-10-18T21:32:00.000-04:00

So I have another Pumped Up Kicks Remix for all of you, and this one is a must listen to. I have always really enjoyed Chris Cab's music he puts out, and in this case I like his version more than the original. It has that crisp real sound to it, if that makes any sense at all. But like I said, you need to listen to this one because I promise you're going to be feeling it. Enjoy.

Some Hope For Old-School

2011-10-15T12:42:00.005-04:00

Rap has become more glamorous since the days of N.W.A and Wu-Tang clan. Now-a-days anyone with money and a cool beat is destined for a hit. Old-school rap is coming back through the underground. What do I mean by this? BET is hosting "the cypher" which is an all-out freestyle over simple beats, and nothing is off-limits. It's the best way to show your stuff and throw some punches at other rappers. And no....these aren't no-name rappers. Names like: Kanye West, Eminem, Yelawolf, Big Sean, Mos Def and Jay-Z (just to name a few) are all throwing down at the cypher. Check it out:

Babes and, Monkeys?

2011-10-13T23:35:00.000-04:00

So you remember growing up and learning in school how humans are supposed to be more intelligent than any other species on earth? Well according to this picture, that might not be the case. Seems this monkey has us all figured out. In one picture he has successfully demonstrated what is on a males mind 90% of the time. Way to be monkey, way to be.

Jupiter Unison (3LAU Bootleg)

Word, my week is pretty much over and I have the perfect song for the occasion. Need a good pregame song? Well I gotchu. Came across this track on FratBeats, and I'm loving it. The video just about matches the song in greatness, the kind of life every college kid wish they had. Well the song a mashup of a few tracks, and they flow perfectly together. I'll put the list of the original music under the video. Before checking those out though, take a listen and see what you're thinking about "Dallask and Porter Robinson - Jupiter Unison (3LAU Bootleg)".

Adele vs. Skrillex

2011-10-12T23:16:00.000-04:00

Most of the songs on my Top 25 on my iPod are mashups, so when I say I'm excited about this one, I mean it. Two polar opposite artist were brought together, Adele and Skrillex. Skrillex with his song "Kill Everybody" and Adele with "Set Fire to the Rain", together are the perfect combination to make this dope mashup. Check it out, "Set Fire to Everybody".

I Want to be Tough

2011-10-11T21:59:00.001-04:00

So me being a scrawny white guy, I've always wondered how I could appear to be a little tougher. Well thanks to the magic of StumbleUpon, I've finally come up with the solution, I'm getting a Rabbit. No not a bunny, because that would just be stupid. I'm getting a Rabbit, maybe I can look a little more like this guy. I mean, I wouldn't fux wid him. #scrawnywhiteguyproblems

Brenton Duvall- Phone Rings Goodbye

2011-10-11T21:44:00.000-04:00

My posting has been weak as of lately, being in the middle of exams has made it difficult, so I'd like to apologize. But I'm going to make it up to you all by giving you this little gem. This is the first time TCSwag has had a repeat artist, so Brenton Duvall deserves so credit. This is a real chill song, not much going on with it, but I've found it to be perfect study music. The flow of the song somehow conveys a story with giving you so little lyrics. It's really grown on me, see what you think of "Phone Rings Goodbye".

Silver Medallion- All I Ask

2011-10-07T19:18:00.000-04:00

I have a dope song for you all, came across it today on GoodMusicAllDay and I knew I had to post about it right away. From the beginning of the track you know it's going to be good. Silver Medallion did everything right in this song, including having Shwayze featured in it. Believe it or not its his first single, and what a way to start it off, I look forward to seeing what else he releases. This song did it to me, check out "All I Ask".

Changes to TCSwag

2011-10-06T16:07:00.000-04:00

So I'm real excited about some of the upcoming changes to TCSwag. The blog has only been opened for 2 weeks and is already approaching 2,000 viewers. Thank you to everyone who has been following my posting as the site has just been starting up. Lately, I've found it difficult to keep up with my posting everyday so I've asked one of my friends to the second author of TCSwag. Who will it be? You'll have to wait and find out, but you won't be disappointed. All I can tell you is that there will be a lot more music and ever more non-music related posts. Hopefully by the end of the today you will see the first post of the new TCSwagger.

Strange Clouds- B.o.B

2011-10-06T15:51:00.000-04:00

This song was brought to my attention by one of my friends over at URI. I've always been a big fan of B.o.B and now I'm a fan of this song. Real great beat to it, and Lil Wayne's part makes it even better. Overall, this is a real proud song and I think it deserves a post on TCSwag. Take a listen, Strange Clouds ft. Lil Wayne by B.o.B

Inspired Flight- Wonderwall Remix

2011-10-03T22:58:00.000-04:00

So this song is better than any medication out there if you just want to chill out. I just finished listening to it for like the 4th time today and it's still doing it to me. I've always been a huge fan of the song"Wonderwall" by Oasis, but I think this remix may trump the original. Anytime this song comes on I feel like I should be cruising the California coast, and what's chiller than that? So check it out, "Wonderwall Remix" by Inspired Flight.

Keep Your Friends Close

2011-10-03T19:31:00.001-04:00

I know I missed posting yesterday, its just college life has just gotten into full swing. But today I am giving you a great song to make up for it. I mean what do we really enjoy more than a talented white rapper? Besides Eminem, because it's almost like a 3 legged horse winning a horse race, it just doesn't happen! So today I am going to introduce you to Dylan Owen, if you don't already know him. This is one of my first times hearing of him so I went and checked out some of his other tracks and I was real impressed. I really just like the sound in his music, as if he's just telling you a story. See what you think in, Keep Your Friends Close.
