WORK

Holiday CardsWinter 2011

Designed for the 2011 season, this card was printed and sent to clients to thank them for their patronage in the previous year. The design pulled from a vintage style, resulting in a clean, wintry look. The card was laid out for both print a web, to be sent to clients around the world.

OrientationsFall 2011

This illustration was created to become a painting on the ceiling of child's playroom. The nautical theme and classic style were pulled in to lend the design a sense of timelessness. It was important the final image look old, but not dated.

BalloonsSpring 2012

A design for a children's t-shirt or book cover.

Inquiry Followup CampaignSpring/Summer 2012

The University of Rochester is coordinating a massive refocusing of its core message in 2012. Specifically, the office of Admissions is redesigning all of its publications to ensure consistency in messaging and visual design across several major publications.

As Graphics Manager, my job is to design the family of pieces that will mailed out beginning in the spring of 2012 and lasting into the fall of 2012. My responsibility is to the look and feel of the physical pieces, as well as the online components that will complement them.

Admitted Student CampaignFall/Winter 2011

Once a student has been admitted to the University of Rochester, they are sent a series of publications to inform and invite them to accept the admission offer and enroll as a student at the University. In 2011, the strategy was revised by expanding the number and focus of the pieces that the students received, which required a significant amount of re-branding.

My job was to design the visual aspects of the pieces to make it clear to the students that all six pieces they received were not only from the same office at the same same University, but that they were taking part in a larger series of communications that student could follow as they went along.

Blog LogoWinter 2011

I worked closely with the owner and developer of ninSeam to create a new logo that would help advertise the new blog she had created. The design evokes the home-made aspect of her work, as well as the playful yet professional attitude she seeks to maintain.

Dragontamer's DaughtersSpring 2012

Coming out later in 2012, the book "Dragontamer's Daughters" and its sequel will both feature cover artwork of my design. I purposely designed both covers in tandem, to visually tie them together and reinforce their existence as a set.

Card Game: KillzoneFall 2011

Contracted by a games developer in Chicago, I have worked on several iterations of this card-based game system. Built on top of the popular Warhammer 40,000 tabletop war game by Games Workshop, Special Operations: Killzone expands the game by adding a new method of playing. Players operate on a much smaller scale, with increased tactical flexibility.

In order to convey the intricacies and more random elements of such a game, the developers chose to utilize a card system. I designed the faces and back of all the cards, delivering both print-ready and web-ready files to host on the developers website.

Gandhi Institute for NonviolenceFall 2011

I lead the rebranding campaign for the M.K. Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence. As a part of this project, I helped the client find a combination of images, colors, and fonts that suited their identity. I then applied these visual elements to all the printed materials the institute uses, ensuring a consistent brand message across all mediums.

Offlane Branding CampaignSpring 2012

As a part of the initial branding campign for Offlane Inc., I designed business cards and several web elements for the client.

Facebook TimelinesSpring 2012

With facebook redesigning it's interface with the expanded timeline view, it was an opportunity to produce customized graphics for the pages I maintain. I chose images that allowed the design to flow off the timeline and into the profile picture, creating an interesting and intriguing visual continuity.

Flash Applications2011

I have designed and programmed a number of flash applications for the University of Rochester. You can see examples of my work here and here.

ABOUT ME

Relentless Creativity...

I am a professional Graphic Designer and Illustrator based in Rochester, New York. I graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a BA in New Media: Design. I believe in doing what you love every day you can. For me that means making the time to draw and dream. Sometimes it's for a client, sometimes it's for a friend, and sometimes it's just because I can. Fun, fast, and fueled; I call it Relentless Creativity.

It's what keeps me going back for another cup of coffee after the rest of the world has nodded off. It's what gets me up early in the morning. It's what makes each day one to remember.

If you're interested in working with me for any project, just say the word. I'm always up to discuss new ideas and possibilities. I view every new project as a challenge to raise the bar and enjoy while I do so. I have worked for large and small-scale operations, and my work has taken every form imaginable; from tattoos to web sites, from book jackets to iPad apps, I'm ready for anything.

Let's talk.

MY SERVICES

Icons

I have done icon design for blogs, small businesses, ARAMARK Food Services, the Ghandi Institute for Nonviolence, and several other major organizations.

Web Design

For the modern website, users expect a clean interface that doesn't interfere. They need a tightly designed experience that flows logically and quickly to help them reach their desired information. That's where I come in.

Print Design

No matter what the skeptics say, print just keeps coming back. In an increasingly digital age, the printed product has returned to it's original position as a hallmark of quality. A physical piece can make all the difference, but it's important you leverage the best design when creating a print. I can help with that.

Illustration

Sometimes you really need someone who can help you bring your vision to life. Making a wedding announcement where the happy couple look like Simpsons characters? How about a caricature for a local personality? I've been there and done that, and I'll be happy to do it again.

Interface Design

Not only visual design but information architecture, I can create an interface for your program. I have designed for iPhone, iPad, and HTML5.

Interactive Programming

I create flash applications for clients ranging from animated banners to much deeper experiences like games, customized media players, and interactive interfaces.
