1. Good thing that they filled the sinks with water, because everyone is so freshly washed all the time (just like in many pre-plumbing era movies/shows)!

2. Will the hobitses make it to Chicago with the Ring?

The problem with the show is that truly dystopian ideas and issues can't be effectively communicated in a viewer/advertiser-friendly network format. Revolution is a slick, eviromentalized Hunger Games/Alas Babylon/The Road rip off that plays on energy supply fears without the soul or horror necessary to truly sell the idea.

Re: THAT RADICAL LIBRARIAN: Review: Leaving Fishers by Margaret Peterson Haddix

You would enjoy it Becca. :)

Re: THAT RADICAL LIBRARIAN: Why Revolution Ain't Revolutionary

Yeah. I also realize the degree is what employers tend to look at. However, I think as we change our perceptions of education and learning, so may future employers. I also think that we could see an era where we could get actual degrees from completing online programs, for free. Although, I hope we move to a standard of evaluating critical thinking rather than evaluating how well we pass exams where we regurgitate facts.

Re: The Future is (Almost) Now: Free College Education | THAT RADICAL LIBRARIAN

I think that there's a huge difference between an education and a degree; unfortunately, the degree is what employers tend to look at. At the same time, I've learned more from reading and exploring on my own than I ever did in formal education.
