The other day while I was in the middle of watching a show on direc tv extra,, my doorbell rang. I wasn’t expecting anyone, so it was definitely a little unexpected. I went to open it and as soon as I saw who it was, I began berating myself for not looking through the peephole beforehand. It just so happens that it was a Saturday morning and the representatives from whichever church it is that comes around and passes out religious materials were standing in front of me. They fit the usual description: young, wearing plain black suits, and wearing name tags reading “Elder so-and-so”. I am all about freedom of speech, but I have always taken issue with people who push their beliefs on you like this under the pretense of “spreading the good word”. I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I am I am going to believe what I want to believe. Your handouts will not sway me. I especially take issue with it when it interrupts my favorite part of the week: weekend coffee time.

My Fear Factor!

"COLLEGE STATION - The Texas A&M community is mourning the death of a football player who died Thursday in a car crash." Yahoo.

This report stunned and feared me as I read the whole story because I had same wreck that he had, but it's not my time yet. The gamut of fearful emotions still in me. I was scared to drive and in fact, I didn't drive for almost three weeks and definitely I refused to drive when it rains. But today, I fought my fear that was trapped since the accident and I rebuked it! It's has been several months since it had happened but I succumbed myself of this fear.

My accident occurred three days after Thanksgiving Day when I was driving home in a wet wet wet rainy day from church. I was driving in minimum speed approaching the traffic light when my truck swerved to the 18 wheeler truck that ran the red light. All I remembered was the gushing speed of the 18 wheeler truck smashing the front side of the SUV. I heard myself screaming "Oh my GOD!" I thought about my Dad back in the Philippines who died in a motor accident that was hit by a big truck. I thought that was it! But God spared my life and I wasn't hurt at all. God has still a purpose of me that I need to fulfill. I was so blessed. My family, Boss and my co-workers were unceasingly checking on me if I was alright! I started sharing my accident to my friends after recuperating from fears. GOD IS GREAT! Hadn't I face my fear? I will probably spending the night at my friend's house until the rain stops. I am so blessed to have such a caring and understanding husband who didn't mind dropping and picking me up.

One thing that I have planned for this year is to spend a little more time on myself. I've let work just take over my life and I don't think that it's worth it to take it home with me. Work is work, not my life. I'm trying to just keep that in mind.

My health has definitely suffered from my workaholic attitude, so I'm going to work on exercising regularly again. Plus, eating right is also a top concern of mine. While I was looking online to get some tips about eating right, I ran across some info on a ear aid and thought that it wouldn't hurt to go and get a hearing aid test done. I've been having some hearing problems for a little while now and weould love to get that addressed.

I'm going to start working out before I go to work in the morning as a better way to start my day. Plus, I'll be able to get in my required exercise before I start worrying about the stress of work. A lot of the time I want to just go and watch TV after work anyway so I don't think that exercising after work would work out so well

Kyle's Very Own Chirtmas Tree

We normally have our tree up after Thanksgiving day but this year kind a the Christmas spirit did not sink in as early as normally does. It's our family tradition to go visit Home Depot and pick out a live tree but not this year. Kyle had been haunting us to get a tree so finally we decided to go to Walmart and he picked out his very own tree. He was so excited and warned us not to help him putting it up. He did great! I added the lights and the topper. The Christmas tree is all decked up with his very own style.
It is beyond compare on how he decorated the house. He is so ready to see what Santa Claus will be bringing to him this Christmas. We are so blessed to be surrounded with loving family, friends and for sending angels to us. Have a joyful Christmas to everyone. Blessed be The Name!!!

We use hughes net as our satellite internet provider. I never really have any problems with the internet, which is good, because I have decided to start my own freelance writing business where I work from home. I will need to have the internet ( we live really far out) for staying in contact with clients and those people who I will out source my work to. I will also need the internet to send in my completed pieces to my clients. I will be posting and working on my blog in between doing work for clients. I was a little nervous at first, because there are deadlines that I have to meet and being the procrastinator that I am, I can’t afford to have shotty internet service. Luckily, the satellite internet provider that we use has gone really smoothly. I seriously have not had any problems. The internet also works pretty fast. It is actually pretty nice working from home because I can get everything done that I need to at home while I am making money too!

Fishing Rodeo!

Fishing Rodeo with the scouts! This Kyle's first rodeo with the scouts and with me as his partner. Ironically I'm the wrong partner to the fact that I don't know how to fish and scared of baits especially live ones. Kyle was apprehensive at first of hooking the worm. So he started using the gloves that I brought if in case I have to touch the worms. But it was time consuming indeed but there was a sweet parent who helped us out. After endearing time of hooking using gloves later Kyle had a gut to try it without gloves and voila he got it! Finally he is not scared of worms! We didn't use the casting rod because we both don't know how to do it. It would be nice if Glenn was there it will be perfect but we made a deal. Kyle did really good to the fact that he overcame his fear in holding worms right then is a winner to me!
It's amazing how competition can change your mind and focus!

Scouting Kicks in!

Kyle is so excited because "scouting is back!" Last year he was a in a Tiger and this year he is in Wolves! He anticipated the events and activities of this year. The first kick in was the "rocket bottle", which was held few weeks ago. He is so proud of his very own creation rocket. We helped him of course by putting the tape around it. We witnessed the successful launching of it! He did great!

Tonight was our first pack meeting and announces the upcoming events and activities for the scouts. He is looking forward for his Fishing Rodeo which will be held at Oak Mountain Birmingham, AL. on Sept. 24th. He earned his first badge tonight (recruit badge)!

What's your favorite ride?

Weekend is a great time to lay around, be lazy and just be with your family and do some fun stuff! Today, Kyle is so excited because I promised him that we'll go to Alabama Adventure. I was uncertain of going because I just don't feel comfortable. But Kyle felt dismayed and reiterated that this is only the time that he can go because it will be closed and will be re open next year. So we decided to go after his baseball practice. We're so excited because our dear friends are already there waiting on us. This plan was supposed to happen last week but due to the inclement weather we decided to postpone it today. Thank you "Baging for the tickets!" We really enjoyed it except for the roller coaster.

The water was a little bit chilly but once you get a hang on it, it was bearable and the kids surely had a great time. Well since the park is closing early we decided to go to the amusement park for rides.
Let me tell you, I don't like heights but I try to get over it, before I get too old for rides. The first time we went there I refused to ride the roller coaster because I am fledged plus Kyle was just too young for it. We did a lot of rides: Wild River Gorge, Giant Wheel, Hurricane, Scrambler, Midway Carousel, and the Rampage (wooden coaster). We couldn't ride all of it due to limited time but for me and Kyle the Rampage was the scariest ride I ever had, and I refused to ride it again! This ride is the top rated wooden coaster in the world! While we were inside the cube waiting for our turn my heart started pumping so fast. Kyle held my hand so tight and whispered to me "I'm a little scared but let's do it together....". I was about to back out because of fear of heights and the speed. But Kyle wants me to be with him. So Im putting out my tough facade to alleviate his fear. The incharge announced "enjoy your 30 sec. ride!" I was relieved! But that the 30 sec. seemed to me a prolong one. Me and Kyle clung our hands tightly and shut our eyes as we sped and coasted along. It was the most scariest and infurating ride I ever had. I wish I had me a button to stop it so that I can just step out! But guess what? We endured the ride and both nauseated. But by all means we tried it before I get too old for it! But the Rampage (roller coaster) ride is my least favorite! But to be around with beautiful friends is a fun ride!

Have y’all ever seen that show called Four Weddings? It comes on TLC and I think it’s just the best thing since sliced bread! My fiancé got us http://www.direct.tv/direct-tv-hd.html satellite so he could watch all his games but I’m always hogging the TV so I can watch my wedding shows. Ours is coming up in December and I think it’s a really fun way to get some ideas and also not to feel so crazy – some of the girls on these shows seem to make it their life’s mission to make everyone around them miserable before their wedding! I try really hard not to do that because I still want everyone to like me when it’s time for my wedding to happen so I try my best to be a nice person about everything including all the planning that I have to drag everyone into. It’s only a few months away now and I’m getting some really good ideas just from watching TV which I never thought was possible!

Entering 2nd Grade!

Wow years pass by so quickly and just didn't realize that our son is in 2nd grade. Kyle's first day at school was Thursday so the day before his first day he decided to buy a backpack so we went to Kohls to get his backpack. But when we got there he didn't like what they have and he insisted to go to Walmart because he saw what he wants. The price was half of what I thought he would get from Kohls. He wowed me because of his choice and keeps me from splurging money. I'm lovin' it.

That night we fixed his meals and snack for school. I told him to start acquainting himself to try fruits. So he suggested that he might can try grapes, seedless & little ones. He wants to have 3 grapes in his lunch bag but I stuck 5 in it because they were little. When he got home that day I asked him if he did try the grapes? He said that he tried but the peeling making him choked up and he confronted me of why I put 5 grapes instead of 3! I told him that I assumed 5 are ample because they were little. Lesson learned: Do as I say! I am still impress because he did not throw up. Normally if he sees something green or just the texture of it will make him sick. So we made a deal to give another try the next day and I will peel it for him.

The second day of school he came home with a commendation notes from his teacher:

*Great thinking in Math!

*Great Behavior!

Then I asked him if he ate his grapes then he said that "Ah Mommy, I didn't have enough time to eat it." I responded calmly that ok we'll try again... So I guess the grapes episode will be to be continued...

We are so proud of him!!!

Horrible Pain

Today me and my co-worker Bevs went to Red Cross Headquarter to take 6 hour class for CPR/ First Aid in order for us to be a certified individuals. It was fun learning and soar hands while doing compressions for several times but it was loads of fun to learn. It is really important for us to learn when someone's life is threatens. It might be scary in reality but it's the best tool to have in order to save lives.

Few minutes after I got home I had this excruciating pain in my abdominal areas. It was so painful that I began to sweat and nauseous. I can't barely stand up straight due to the pain. I was thinking- probably because I ate too much Fiber One bars while the class was in session but I have my cycle too so either way. I took some pain reliever and Kyle heated me some heat pads. Sub consciously I was thinking "oh no which first aid do I need to use?" . I threw up once and laid back down, I didn't realize that I fell asleep for an hour or so perhaps the medicine took effect. Right now I feel a little bit better and I hope it won't come back. Thanks for my wonderful nurses.

COWBOY!

One of Kyle's favorite costume was his cowboy outfit that his Aunt Janne gave him when he was two year old. He wants to wear it on Saturday's Daisy Duke/cowboy party at my friend'd house. So I decided to make him one. I stayed up so late that night to finish it. He was telling me exactly the older one looks like but I don't have enough fabric to go for his long sleeves so I ended up making his vest and pants. Then he asked me if I can take the sheriff badge off from the old one. While I was sewing he keeps looking for his accesories to go with his cowboy outfit and he found his pistol, hankerchief (bandana), hat and then he inisisted to make him a cowboy boots! I said "what!!!" I am not a shoemaker I am just a dressmaker (barely). Well I guess that would be our next project for him to find a cowboy boots.
