Due to the fact that Grooveshark is no longer in existence, I have started making playlists on 8tracks. It's neat that you can embed your cover art within the music player. Although there are alternatives to Grooveshark's online music streaming, like 8tracks, all the playlists that I had made on Grooveshark have been erased. Any playlist that I have posted before this is gone.

Nothing on the internet is concrete and with the amount of energy that I put into it, I hope to find more reliable online resources. However, this also makes me think about how any information you decide to call your own on the internet could very well be gone the next day, so there's no point in putting a personal value to anything stored online. The internet is transient, and a tool to develop your own transient mind; to learn and create impermanent collections of images, sounds, or words. Treating it as such, you will never be disappointed in what it can do for you. And when these pieces of information are gone the next day, you won't really care.

Red House Painters did a cover of the Cars' song "All Mixed Up." They also made a weird music video for it with a 90s forest sprite-woman who looks like she got lost on her way to the set of the "Crash Into Me" music video. Let's just say it's super effing whimsical. And we can gain an understanding that altrock musicians of the 90s had a thing for twee girls dressed in eccentric fairylike costumes.</p>

The Brown Bunny (2003) Vincent Gallo

Vincent Gallo's The Brown Bunny "is both a love story and a haunting portrait of a lost soul unable to forget his past...Building up to a notorious climax, the film presents one of the frankest portrayals of male sexuality ever seen in American cinema." (The Brown Bunny, dvd 2003)

Knowing too much about The Brown Bunny before seeing it just might ruin your viewing experience. Having preconceived notions about writer, producer, director, lead actor, etc., Vincent Gallo could distract you from becoming immersed in his storytelling. Reading review after bogus review on Rotton Tomatoes, and reading the plot synopsis on imdb before seeing the movie made me have this guarded outlook on the film. I guess I was expecting it to be bad, or at least much worse than his previous film, Buffalo '66.

This skeptical feeling passed after the first ten minutes. The lengthy highway driving scenes were hypnotizing, and forced me to synced up with the film's slow pace, which forced me to focus, which helped me become compassionate towards the main character and his story. If you plan to see this film- which I recommend you do- keep an open mind (and heart) and watch as The Brown Bunny slowly opens up to you.
