Viva KSYM 2017! It's an honor an a privilege to once again be involved and helping celebrate San Antonio College Radio.

Wow, can't believe it's been 31 years since my time back-in-the-day at SAC, working on staff at The Ranger as an editorial cartoonist and photographer while getting my associates in advertising art before moving up to Boston and Massachusetts College of Art in January of 1987. Fast forward to now and holy-cow, it's already year 17 of designing t-shirts, lobby art and official Fiesta medals for both the station KSYM and some of my favorite shows.

Some of those shows - Brian Parrish's The Casbah, Bobby J's Mainstream 120, Richard Turner's Best of the Beatles, Hank Harrison's Hillbilly Hit Parade and Dan Kliens's Lush Life. Dang time goes by fast! All that said, thanks to all of the above and John Onderdonk for believing in me - ladies and gentlemen here is your new KSYM 90.1 logo for Pledge Drive 2017. I will post shot's of the Fiesta medal as soon as I get samples in hand.

The Olmos Pharmacy is Back!

That's Right! And I am wicked happy and lucky to be working with Rod Campbell, Carlos Padilla and Stefan Shambora, some really cool, dedicated folks on the rebirth and rebranding of the classic Olmos Pharmacy Diner and Pub here in San Antonio.

Awesome Angus Beef Bacon Cheeseburger complete with a side salad with bleu cheese and an icey cold pint of Lucky Ol' Sun; a Belgian Strong Pale Ale style beer brewed by San Antonio's own Ranger Creek Brewing.

Classic Shakes & Malts since 1944. Real deal, old school soda fountain drinks and now featuring 10 Rotating Taps of great, locally crafted IPA's, Ales and Cider!

Breakfast served until 3:00 PM!

We're working hard on the big Grand Re-Opening scheduled for early 2014 in celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the world famous Olmos Pharmacy.

Just a few things in progress: A San Antonio/Pharmacy centric Timeline Wall Mural that will include the Mayors of San Antonio, price of shakes, burgers, milk, gas, mortgage and beer.

And starting soon... Show up at the Olmos Pharmacy on your birthday and enjoy anything on the menu at prices from the year you were born!

Hey y'all, I've got some new, fresh and totally affordable HMK art posted and ready to hang!

Although my profit on Society6 is really pretty minimal, hardly enough to offset my phone or water bill, between 5-10 bux a print depending on the size. But, the the awesome and most important thing is that I can finally offer some of my art to folks, family and friends have been bugging me for a piece of my art an amazingly affordable price.

I totally love weekend home projects that are not only realistically doable and affordable, but also those that truly make a dramatic, noticeable and functional impact. Dig this awesome little $85 entryway makeover courtesy of crafty couple Jami & Nato. Made from a small batch of 1x6 and 1x3 boards they've created this killer built-in panel effect complete with hooks and shallow shelves.

V-Luxe is the brainchild of Paula Anne Patterson in Brooklyn, New York. This drool worth iPad accessory, (my new favorite must have) sits 17.5" high x 12.5" long x 8.5" wide. Audio and power cable access, compatible with both iPad and iPad 2 along with an awesome retro speaker cabinet.

I am so totally digging the work and skills of sewing artist, textile artist, crafts person, maker or simply artist Jennifer Collier.

Her practice focuses on creating work from paper; by bonding, waxing, trapping and stitching I produce unusual paper ‘fabrics’, which are used to explore the ‘remaking’ of household objects.

The papers she uses are treated as if cloth, with the main technique employed being stitch; a contemporary twist on traditional textiles.

All of her works are unique one-off pieces, available in a varierty of different recycled papers. The best part is that the work can be made to order with your own choice of ephemera!
