The Dark Knight Rises Trailer Downloaded a Record 12.5 Million Times

The new trailer for Warner Bros. Pictures' and Legendary Pictures' The Dark Knight Rises smashed the record for most combined downloads through the iTunes Movie Trailers site (ITunes.com/Trailers) and the iTunes Trailers iOS app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The trailer went online at 10:00 Monday morning, December 19, and was viewed more than 12.5 million times in its first 24 hours, breaking the previous record by well over two million. The trailer can be viewed here.

Opening on July 20, 2012, The Dark Knight Rises is the much-anticipated epic conclusion to Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy. The film's international all-star cast is led by Oscar winner Christian Bale (The Fighter) in the dual role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. The film also stars Anne Hathaway, as Selina Kyle; Tom Hardy, as Bane; Oscar winner Marion Cotillard, as Miranda Tate; and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, as John Blake. Reprising their roles from both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, Oscar winner Michael Caine (The Cider House Rules) plays Alfred; Gary Oldman is Commissioner Gordon; and Oscar winner Morgan Freeman (Million Dollar Baby) plays Lucius Fox.

The film is directed by Nolan from a screenplay by Jonathan Nolan and Christopher Nolan, story by Christopher Nolan & David S. Goyer. The film is produced by Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Charles Roven, who previously teamed on Batman Begins and the record-breaking blockbuster The Dark Knight. Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Kevin De La Noy and Thomas Tull are the executive producers, with Jordan Goldberg serving as co-producer. The Dark Knight Rises is based upon characters appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. Batman created by Bob Kane.

A presentation of Warner Bros. Pictures, in association with Legendary Pictures, The Dark Knight Rises will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

The Dark Knight Rises comes to theaters July 20th, 2012 and stars Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The film is directed by Christopher Nolan.

Groove Armada: New Life With Live Show http://www.mediaservicesnyc.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=555:groove-armada-new-life-with-live-show http://www.mediaservicesnyc.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=555:groove-armada-new-life-with-live-show Groove Armada: New Life With Live Show

The past summer saw the duo taking its ‘Red Light’ show to select stages around Europe

When Andy Cato and Tom Findlay announced they were retiring the Groove Armada live show, it wasn’t so they could put their feet up. This Northern summer has seen the duo taking its ‘Red Light’ show to select stages around Europe, armed with four decks, effects and integrated, on-the-fly visuals. For those who were beginning to tire of GA Live, this new incarnation has all the signs of a damn fine reinvention. Or, in the words of the guys, a return “to the spirit of the warehouses where the GA project started”.

The first ‘Red Light’ performance was at Rockness in the Scottish Highlands back in June, and video evidence suggests it went down a storm. Since then Cato and Findlay have dazzled Space in Ibiza, Serbia’s EXIT Festival, their very own London gathering Lovebox and Belgium’s vast Tomorrowland.

The duo’s show utilises Kinect cameras to create a “real-time humanised visual system” from live footage, making for an eye-popping backdrop to the music. All the visuals are live generated and reconfigured from movement behind the decks. Of course the trickery could add up to a big “meh”, but it really looks like they’ve nailed it, along with a return to upfront, euphoric GA house. Pleasing news indeed for fans of old.

“We’ve got lots of decks and computers making funny noises but then we also run the lighting and the lasers and visuals at the same time, so it’s quite busy,” Findlay told The Independent in July. Maybe the ‘Red Light’ show should be promoted into our Summer Hit-List & Predictions feature…

The Candelario trademark sound returns with A.Salih on vocals

House veteran Benji Candelario makes his MN2S debut with 'Get Down' featuring the unmistakable sounds of A.Salih on vocals. First up on the EP Pete Moss provides classy, deep yet soulful mix. Candelario's 'Strut mix' is serious dance floor material with a relentless, funky bass line and energetic synth action. The club mix showcases Candelario's trademark sound with a killer organ riff and uplifting piano. The BNS original is quintessential soulful house with lush chord arrangement and arpeggiated synth's. A Salih's vocoded vocal is the perfect accompaniment to this dreamy production. On remix duties BC teams up with DJ ALX for a euphoric, progressive tinged work-out and DJ Sakaki turns in a chunky tech houser.

RA Poll: Top DJs of 2011 http://www.mediaservicesnyc.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=544:ra-poll-top-djs-of-2011 http://www.mediaservicesnyc.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=544:ra-poll-top-djs-of-2011 RA Poll: Top DJs of 2011

RA begins two weeks of polls with the readers' choice of the finest DJs of the year.

Electronic music is a global phenomenon, but for most of us, our perspectives are shaped by the cities in which we go raving. Tastes and trends vary from place to place, and it's nigh on impossible to keep tabs on the scene at large (unless you're a DJ and travel the world for a living). That's what's so fascinating about their annual poll of your favourite DJs: it's a rare chance to see the broad spectrum of who people like to see in clubs. It's like a distillation of countless parties around the world over a 12 month period: the late nights and fuzzy mornings of thousands of punters are funneled into a single list.

Contest: Ministry Of Sound Resident Search http://www.mediaservicesnyc.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=541:ministry-of-sound-resident-search http://www.mediaservicesnyc.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=541:ministry-of-sound-resident-search Contest: Ministry Of Sound Resident Search

Data Transmission teams up with Ministry Of Sound to find new resident DJ.

Over the last 12 months Ministry of Sound has been supporting its residents Michael Woods, Joe & Will Ask and the Cosmonauts who have each grown in their own way. With Michael touring the world, Joe & Will Ask about to drop a new album and Cosmonauts successfully packing out Spacestation regularly - being a part of the collective ain't such a bad thing. Now we need someone else to become part of the fold and it could be you.

The club has joined up with Data Transmission to find not another superstar DJ but someone that has something different to offer who is looking for the next step up. It's a pretty tough world out there so a little help is always good and that's what is becoming a resident is all about, progressing and working closely with the club team to open up opportunities. This is a nationwide search with a fairly open minded crew judging, so if you are into your house and electronic music, play out a lot and can see yourself opening the main room at Ministry of Sound then enter NOW!

Send us the required bits below but MOST IMPORTANTLY make sure you let us know where you will be playing over the next few months - we will be sending representatives down to the gigs to film any potential entrants which will be uploaded and used as part of the judging process.

Open Bar Music compiles the best remixes and tracks from various labels.

Davidson Ospina & Oscar P (D.O.O.P.) have been blowing peoples minds for the past 7 years with a collection of remixes and original productions that have established them as serious contenders to the NY underground crown. Both raised in New York, though hailing from Colombia and The Dominican Republic, the duo is often sought out by labels and artists for their Deep-Tech-Soul hybrid sound that crosses house music genres.

What makes their sound so special is their ability to attract many of the Top 100 DJ's in the world to support their tracks. DJ's who range from deep house to minimal to trance seem attracted to their productions. Something almost unheard of in the music industry. DJ's such as Inland Knights, Robert Owens, Milk & Sugar, DJ Sneak, Kaskade, Carl Kennedy, Eddie Amador, DJ Hell, Miguel Migs, Michael Gray, Black Coffee, Maurice Joshua, Quentin Harris, Mark Knight, Marques Wyatt, and Grant Nelson are supporters of their productions.

STOMPY.com caught up with the guys for an in depth interview.

                      -How did you guys meet?

OP - I've known Davidson for years from the NYC industry scene, and before we started working together I actually hired him to do keyboard work on remix projects when we worked at Quad studios back in the early 90's. Things kicked off from there. Lets not even get into the crazy hangouts at the original WMC at the Fountaine Blue Hotel.

DO - We go way back from my early days starting out at the industry parties , seeing each other all the time & hanging out. Unforgettable times!

-Both of you are from New York, which has influenced generations of musicians and artists. How does your musical influence compare to each other growing up and still today?

OP - He's Colombian, and I'm Dominican. Yes we speak spanish, but its a whole different type of upbringing and culture. I think thats what makes the sound great when we work together. A fusion of tropical music influenced by the sounds of Chicago, Detroit, and of course NYC house legends like David Morales, Todd Terry, Tony Humphries, Jellybean and Masters At Work.

DO -  Both coming from latin speaking families & growing up listening to amazing music is certainly one of the most important factors. Influences that we always try to express in our music till this day. Living and coming up in NYC during a time where so many legends came in and led the path for so many of us was a huge thing.

-What roles do each of you play both creatively in the studio? Do you have a method when approaching each production project?

OP - We basically give each other room and respect. We exchange ideas, and input. We make sure each other's vibe is imprinted on the project. It's second nature by now, and though we do other projects seperatly and we also do work with other people, there is definitely a distinct sound we get when we come together.

DO - After so many years working together, there is certainly a formula in place. Always going in with a open mind on all ideas that come up. Whether they work or not, we like to give a  try & see where it goes. We speak about the project and direction we want to go. Always looking for a way to give the audience a new surprise in the production.

-Which part of the business takes up most of your time, and how do you schedule all the different jobs you have to do?

OP - Distribution. I put in 3-4 days a week on this with an aggressive schedule.

DO - Prepare our releases with promos & graphics for our releases on Ospina Digital. I like to start my day early to get things done.

-With a broad range of nearly every sub genre of music in your production arsenal--Soul, Deep, Classic, Funky, Tribal, Latin, Tech--do you know what style of music you want to make when entering the studio?

OP - We make house music with a deep-latin influence. Thats our style, but we've also produced other styles growing up in the business. In the 80's and 90's you had to know how to produce music, not just make the dance records that we hear today. Alot of the music today is great, there's alot of talented people out there, but its not as musical as what was heard when we were coming up in the scene.

DO - House Music! but I came up in a time and learned early on that it was important to be a versatile producer. So, from time to time we will get hired to work on Major Label artist projects to give it the edge many know us for.

-How does it compare remixing a producer on a small independent label, to remixing someone like Brittany Spears, Beyonce, John Legend or Marvin Gaye? Do you feel additional pressure or creatively restricted when remixing a major label artist?

No secret the industry has changed. LOL. But if you love what you do, TALENT and CREATIVITY will always win. The process is the same, only the checks are smaller. However technology plays a huge part in producing music today. The programs we have today are amazing, its very advanced, and I'm in awe each time I go in the studio. The REMIX was invented so that certain songs could be played & heard in other formats around the world.

DO - Checks are smaller for sure ! LOL. No pressure at all, just go with what I am feeling. Don't want to have restrictions with something I do to express myself creatively. Major label artists projects are more a challenge I feel. but love them because they test your creativity & you get implement production methods you may not have to use as much on Independent projects.

-What are some of your favorite studio toys?

OP - Reason, Ableton Live, you name it we use it.

DO - Reason, Digital Performer, Waves Plugins, Virtual Synths, Mixmiester. We use it all.

-How do each of you find new artists for your labels, and what is the A&R process like?

OP - It's a combination of having a good ear, and as your label grows people seek you out.

I enjoy collaborating a great deal, and I love finding new talent. But a track either hits you or it doesn't.

It has to speak to you on some human level, or what's the point? Anyone can make a track with today's technology, but not everyone can touch your soul. Thats what its about for me.

DO - Collaborations, social networks, networking with other producers, Dj's & most importantly consistent with releases on the label for new up & coming artists to seek us out.  Always looking for new talent. I search for music that captures my attention early into listening to a track.

-Which new artists are you most excited about right now?

OP - Personally right now I'm enjoying artists, like Nina Kravitz, Rocco, Love Birds, Ethyl & Flori, Radio Slave, The MuthaFunkaz, Kink, Delano Smith, I mean I could go on and on. There's just so much music out there. I love the diversity and styles from different clicks and cities. If I gave you $1000, and I took $1000, and we went record shopping, we'd both come out with 2 sets of music.

DO - Wow! so much talent in the world..too many to list !

-With the move from physical albums and compilations bought in a store on single our double disc, to the a-la-cart method of the digital world, you still release a lot of comps from Various Artists. What do you feel is the biggest role of the compilation album in today's musical environment?

OP - Comps are the name of the game. I have been accused by some of doing too many...hehehehe.

But the reality is, that it's a great way to break new artists, and build sales on your label.

DO - Digital Comps are the best thing for a label ! There are so many up and coming artists that comps are a great way to get heard. They sell very well.

-Tell us about the new 'Best of 2011' compilation? Do you have a favorite track from the album that is extra special to you guys?

OP - Its a collection of our best from 2011, and some things from 2010, that you may have overlooked in the crowded digital market. Marvin's Song because it opened doors for us in many ways.

DO - Collection of nothing but great tracks! That we feel are timeless. These tracks are going to work for a long time indeed.

-What did each of you want to be when you grew up?

OP - A comic book artist and writer. I actually worked at Marvel Comics for 2 years when I was 19.

                      SShhhhhh.

DO - Entertainment in some way or another. I did all sorts of things growing up, but somehow always had music attached to it. I used to BMX Freestyle (Do tricks on my Bike!) & compete. The biggest one was at the Felt Forum/ Madison Square Garden. Always used my favorite songs to do my routines.

                      -What's the goal for 2012?

OP - More new albums, more European tours, and more wine!

DO - More Original Productions, great selling releases on the label, and more Tours.

Special Thanks To: Norty Cotto, Todd Terry, Maurice Joshua Digital, Naughty Boy Music, In-House, Staff Productions, Thompsonic, Keith Thompson, Newlight Muzik, Sonny Lopez, Serena Calo, Still Cookin Records, Gaga Records, Ospina Digital, Gene Douglas, and Almost Heaven Music. MJ White: Interview http://www.mediaservicesnyc.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=532:mj-white-interview http://www.mediaservicesnyc.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=532:mj-white-interview MJ White: Interview

MJ White, the Voice of Underground House, shares the secret of longevity

and his House experiences with us in this Media Services NYC exclusive. Susan Rescue Reports.

The jump from minister’s son in North Carolina to worldwide House Music sensation as the “Voice of Undergound House” seems like the stuff of Underground legend. How did this become a reality for you?

I moved from Texas to New York in 1986 and started by singing everywhere I could. One day a friend of mine told me about an audition for a backup singer for a group with Ed “The Red” Goltsman and I went. When Ed heard me sing he fired the front man and made me the front and the rest is history. We recorded my first project and I've been rocking the scene from 1990 until now.

When you moved to NYC, what was of the greatest impact that kept you here? How did you know you had found the right place to establish yourself?

Ed The Red. As a matter of fact, I was getting ready to move back to Texas when my friend told me about the audition. I learned that when the Lord is in it you will win it and i just keep on moving.

Tell us about your first recording experience with Bottomline Records. How has that first experience changed over the years to recording music today?

In the beginning, I was very afraid because I don't read music. I was scared that I wouldn't be able to do it right, but Ed loved the fact that I sing from my soul and he really worked with me to bring it all out. It was hard and there were a lot of long nights but, we did it. Now, I'm very comfortable in my skin and I have learned that when the soul song is sung it opens the heart of man and, so, I soul sing when I get the chance. I started doing Deep House, but now I'm doing big room and spoken word as well. I love it all!!

I’ve had the opportunity to see you perform “Well of Love” live. Tell us about working with Davidson Ospina on this track. How has its success affected your career?

Wow! Working with Davidson Ospina has opened up a brand new door for me. I think people always knew who I was, but the “Well of Love” track really took it to the next level. Now I'm getting requests from all over the world to do vocals on projects. It has truly been a blessing and I can't say “thank you” enough to Davidson Ospina and Oscar P for always having my back.

You’ve performed for audiences all over the world. What has been the most fun location for you? Where is the one place you want to leave your impression on that you have yet to perform at?

One of my favorite places was Rome, Italy. Last year, I learned why they call it the “City of Eternal Love”. The people were so sweet to me and gave me so much love. The place I really want to go and do my thing is the south of France and I hope to make that my reality in 2012. Get ready, France! Here I come!

You have a wonderfully full discography. To what do you attribute your staying power?

Nothing, but the grace of GOD! It seems that, no matter what I'm going through, the Lord always sends the right people at the right time and, now, even more so. I have some great new tracks coming from South Africa, as well as Italy and from all over the world in the New Year. The bomb is getting ready to explode again!

You’ve worked with a variety of producers over the span of your career. Whose work do you admire that have you yet to work with?

I would love to work with Maurice Joshua, Bob Sinclair, Axwell, as well as David Guetta. I can't wait to do some work with some of the new cats on the scene as well.

What upcoming projects do you have in the works? Any tour dates, performances scheduled?

Well, I have a new one with  Davidson Ospina coming and I hope to be doing a new one with Oscar P soon, as well as Yuri Omneari from London. I also would love to do a tour of Spain, France and Italy next spring, as well as South Africa, but nothing solid as of yet.

What words of wisdom can you offer to a budding recording artist whose dream is to impact the world the way you have?

Stay focused and attract to you the highest energies that the universe has to offer, and always love what you’re doing. When you are love, love comes back to you many times over..

                        Final Thoughts?

I just want to say “Thank you!” to all the people who have been with me on this journey and, I promise, I will always try my best to make your heart sing! Love you all! MJ White

Thank you, MJ, for sharing your insights and the “well of love”.

                          Berny-F.Sonik: Interview http://www.mediaservicesnyc.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=531:berny-fsonik-interview http://www.mediaservicesnyc.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=531:berny-fsonik-interview Berny-F.Sonik: Interview

One of the hottest records in the market right now comes from BERNY & F.Sonik on New York's HEAVY label.

Levando is getting Support  HEAVY from Baggi Begovic, Master Kev, Mannix, Miles Maeda, DJ ALA, Doc Link and Booker T. We caught up with the duo online for a quick Q&A.

Guys whats good? Tell Us about this new hot release on HEAVY.

The idea started from me (Berny). We found a nice African Voice Sample and just tried for months to build a groove tribal but with no good results we were happy with. Then after listening lto some releases from my friend Ales (F.Sonik) I asked him to find some good elements for the track. We exchanged some ideas and sounds and from that came the Original Version and Ales the Dub one! Remixes from Andrew Technique and Osamu M from Tokyo spice up the package!

How involved are you guys in the deep tech house scene back home?

We like to think that we have a respect in our scene after years of good productions and collaborations, especially here in Europe! We keep building our contacts with Labels and Djs, working hard in Studio and making people dance what we play. We receive lots of proposals for music collaborations and it's good to see that also more Clubs starts calling us to play in all Europe, we hope to be more "on the road" in 2012.

What gear do you use in the studio when producing tracks?

We both use Logic, Berny in Studio uses also Sony Acid and Pro Tools. Ales is really a "monster" in the Studio. The quality of his works are impressive!

As DJ's do you feel its important to produce tracks?

Absolutely. But to be honest for us the best Djs we've ever heard and worked with are NOT Producers! We think Djs that don't produce have more open mind and more eclecticism!

What are your Top 5 records right now?

                          Berny & Ales:

Mr V Back for the final I'll House you of 2011

You've been on a rampage, especially the past 3 years.

But I do notice you tweaking your style and sound. Tell us about that?

Not tweaking it so much as just finding interest in different things. digging the NU DISCO sound as of late and the Berlin Vibe at the moment but all in all it's still soulful, it still has energy. Plus there's a surge of the 90's house sound in the past 2 years or so.

What's new with Sole Channel, and tell us about the new label?

Do you find the transition between DJ and Artist a bonus these days?

Yeah somewhat, it continues to go hand and hand, and people wanna see the person behind the music. Djing allows you to do that.

Where are you touring this month?

Dance music artist Keith Thompson sits down with MSNYC for an exclusive interview.

Mr Thompson glad to see you well...whats new?

Expanding my fanbase and working on new music for the coming season.

People dont realize how big you are in the middle east. You are doing huge concert appearances. Why do you think your style and songs have resonated with the  people in that  region?

There are a lot of great clubs and young people who travel internationally or went to university in Europe, when they go clubbing want to party like the rest of us.  I also think because I usually have progressive/commercial mixes on my releases it opens up a variety of markets.  House is not just deep or soulful, it's tech too.  So I'm true to that. Throughout my career, I've had a good following in the UK, France parts of Europe due to songs like "Break 4 Love", "Can't Take It" & "The Rhythm Of Life" that are now classics along with some recent releases, "Living On The Frontline", "Body Music", &"Truly".  But when I remade "Break 4 Love" and had David Vendetta do a remix, it took off in France and the rest of the world, reaching Top 20 in France, no.1 in several countries and made me a star in the middle east.

I also make it a practice that wherever I have a major hit or exposure, I do a duet or collaboration with a local star.  I did some gigs in the region after "Break 4 Love" (Vendetta rmx) was a hit and I did "Show Them Love" with DJ Bob in Lebanon 2009 and it reached no.1 in Lebanon, becoming a mini anthem throughout the middle east. The Vendetta rmx was also a hit in Eastern Europe so I collaborated with Bulgarian star Maria Ilieva  on "Truly" which in turn also reach no.1 there and became popular in that region. So, I put in work to find different markets and revenue streams.

What is it like working with NRJ which is one of the biggest  radio stations  in the world?

It's been a pleasure because after being booked for one of their big events back in 2007, they've always supported my music and treat me as if I were family. My radio mix show, The Keith Thompson Party is also carried on NRJ 91. FM.  I've also been the the host and performer for the last two years of their music concerts featuring stars like Flo-Rida, Inna, Alexandra Stan, and more.

What are some of the most interesting places you have been to  and why?

Tunisia, Egypt, Moscow, Bogota:  Tunisia because it's mostly desert with oasis of cities that have some cool hotels & clubs along with the history of it being the home of the historical Hannibal (not Lecter but the conquer). It was my first time in Africa when I landed and it felt great to finally land on the continent.  Egypt for the ancient history that hits you every turn. I'm driving down a highway from Cairo going to a gig in Alexandria and I'm blown away that part of the scenery are the pyramids in the distance; amazing. I felt so at home there. No strange looks like in some other middle east countries.  Besides, my great-great grandmother was actually from Egypt so it was a spiritual home coming. Then there's Moscow for the opulence of the great restaurants and purpose built clubs with nothing but rich GQ dudes & super-model type women. Everyone too busy having a good time to have attitudes. Then Bogota for the surprise of seeing a city that is massive and cosmopolitan with a great night life with a real knowledge and love of good house music. Great food, of course, good music & amazing people.

Tell us about your new projects?

Right now "Sun Is Shinning" with Knee Tremblers is out wrapping up the summer vibe. Coming soon is "Where I'm Coming From" with Shane D on Look At You.  Then "Lose Your Shhht" with NightRhymes on Purple Music.  I have a progressive/commercial track targeted to the middle east that is coming, titled "Just One More" with Emdee of Lebanon.  On deck is a pop track I did with DJ Salah "All My Life" coming on GaGa Records.  So, nuff un-finished projects getting ready for next year, including one that my cause some controversay, "Your Girlfriend" with remixes by a young gun from Kazakhstan, yeah, Kasakstan (a young upcoming talent).

I was just watching the VMA's, and was kicking myself with all the dance music element this focused on.   Is this another trend?

The R&B dudes like Usher and Chris Brown can't get promoters or venues to pay the fees that theywere used to and they've seen that remixes of their hits have sometimes made their songs bigger hits. So, when they travel to St. Tropez or other vacaton spots they've now realized how big club music is so, they're actually just going straight to doing club productions from the jump. Would be cool if they actually used some good house producers and get some true house mixes but I think it does nothing but help our cause of keeping the music alive. House music/club is alive even though a bit more difficult to make a living for those who make it fulltime and not just passing through. It might be a trend but I think it's one that will last for a while. The economic times beg for tracks that make you want to release. That's why hip hop is still big, it serves the same purpose.

We hear you have a birthday coming up with a NYC appearance on Oct 21?

Yeah, seems I'll be celebrating for the whole month. I start in Beirut with a rooftop pool party at Sun7 then private thing later that night with DJ Bob who is also a Libra. Then I'll take it to either Paris the next week. If I can't arrange that then I've locked in Bar 13 with I'LL HOUSE YOU and crew to wrap it all up with a bang.  I'll dj a warm up set then later rock the mic with some classics and hits.

                                Final Thoughts?

House music is international.  Like Bob Marley said, "when one door is closed another is open." So, don't let yourself be defined by one market or region. The world is small like they say but at the same, its wide with are a variety of scenes to get down with. Spread your talent, people are open to it. Just do you.

What do you make of a new Scarface movie? And who would you like to see play the lead role?

                                  By: Derrick Deane

After reading that headline, you might be thinking this is yet another remake/reboot to come out of the Hollywood pipeline. Well, not exactly. Deadline reports that this new Scarface movie will be use common elements of the first two films in an attempt to create a new story.

Essentially the backbone of the story will remain the same – a little guy who tosses his morals out the window in to become the king of the criminal underworld and achieve his American Dream.

Whether all this means our lead gangster will be Italian as in the 1932 version or Cuban as Al Pacino's famous take on the character in the 1983 Brian de Palma movie is still yet to be decided.

Though it's still in the early stages of coming together, what do you make of a new Scarface movie? And who would you like to see play the lead role?

Facebook is about to completely change the way its profile pages look. Good Lord Watch Out.
As part of the website's biggest redesign so far, and only a fraction of the website's 800 million users seem to have the slightest clue. I'm not talking about the new real-time "Ticker" at the top right of your Facebook profile. I'm not even talking about the "Top Stories" that now appear at the top of your Facebook news feed -- those are tiny, insignificant changes compared to what's just around the corner.

But boy, did some people react badly to even those minuscule improvements. Among my Facebook friends, more than half said they disliked the changes and some threatened to quit. Of course, they did no such thing. How will they react when Facebook throws away the old profiles and replaces them with something completely new?

Here's what'll happen once the Timeline profiles are launched: Your Facebook profile will go from having one central column to two, with boxes of text, photos, videos and even maps of your favorite locations. Rather than just displaying your most recent activities, your profile will become a scrapbook documenting your entire life, all the way back to your birth. Facebook will become a record of your existence: All your memories, your victories and your defeats, your loves, your losses and everything in between.

Through this process, you'll realize that Facebook Timeline is much more than a way to post the minutiae of your existence. While a typical social networking profile might highlight what you ate this morning, or what time you left for work, or where you had lunch, Facebook Timeline takes these thousands of seemingly inconsequential events, discards the irrelevant ones, finds the most emotive, the most visual, the most striking and emotionally touching moments and pulls them into sharp focus.

Much like our memories, Facebook Timeline understands that some moments have resonance that lasts through the years. It's a marvel of computer programming: An algorithm that comes eerily close to emulating human memory; perhaps the first algorithm to spark such a deep emotional response.

So yes, you will hate the new Facebook profile when it launches in the coming weeks. Then, like me, you'll realize that Facebook has unleashed something so remarkable that you didn't even recognize it at first: A meaningful social network. And like any other groundbreaking technology -- the PC, the smartphone, the iPad -- you'll wonder why life wasn't always this way, and how you got by without it.

Full Report!

Davidson Ospina made his first foray to Burning Man, and if you're wondering what happened, well here it is.

Once a year, tens of thousands of participants gather in Nevada's Black Rock Desert to create Black Rock City, dedicated to community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance. They depart one week later, having left no trace whatsoever. Burning Man is also an ever-expanding year-round culture based on the Ten Principles. Burning Man isn't your usual festival, with big acts booked to play on massive stages. In fact, it's more of a city than a festival, wherein almost everything that happens is created entirely by its citizens, who are active participants in the event.

                                        So tell us about it.

Burning Man is a large-scale social experiment. The 50,000 people who converge on the desert each year create a temporary but legitimate city – roughly the size of Santa Cruz, CA....LOL...amazing. The city has its own street grid, and laws. No Money Is Exchanged. Its all based on what they call a (gift economy). Very Hot & Sunny in the Daytime and Very Cold at Night! They have huge Art installations all over the place. Everything at night lights up for miles!! And of course you have also the amazing Sound Camps.

What camp did you roll with and why?

I camped with an awesome Bubbles & Bass from NYC. Their concept of awesomeness was to have morning parties right during the Sunrise on the playa giving out free champagne to everyone. This was a HIT & people came from all over to check us out. Our system was LOUD & pumping! Great people to roll with for my first time out.

What did you enjoy the most out of the experience?

Be able to share my first Burn with hundreds of new friends & play my music without any rules! Taking them threw a musical journey of styles that inspire me & that they never heard before. Making them dance their asses off!!

What are some of the most interesting things you saw?

People willing to help, was certainly a wonderful site for sure. Don't see that to much in your own city sometimes. The Art structures blew my mind away! Things you thought could not be possible were built on the playa. Camps with the most amazing layouts. Also the Art-cars! They had sound systems in them with people dancing as it moved slowly around the playa. It was CRAZY!! I played on one for Mosaic Lounge camp one night w/ Marques Wyatt. So much fun!

                                        Final Thoughts?

GOING BACK HOME NEXT YEAR!! In a RV, playing more parties, meeting more people, and having the time of my  life!

                                        You heard it here first!

Roger Sanchez Groove Cruise 2012 http://www.mediaservicesnyc.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=403:roger-sanchez-confirmed-for-groove-cruise-2012 http://www.mediaservicesnyc.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=403:roger-sanchez-confirmed-for-groove-cruise-2012 Roger Sanchez Groove Cruise 2012

The Groove Cruise is proud to announce Roger Sanchez officially booked for Groove Cruise 2012.

Roger Sanchez has always operated several miles ahead of his dance music colleagues. Sanchez’ front-running position in the club community comes from an innate talent and taste for creative exploration. From the beginning of his career, he has consistently strived to redefine the boundaries of underground house music, and expanding on his already ardent international audience.

"To me, spinning records can be just as creative as producing and remixing,” he says. “A great DJ can take a record and give it an entirely new sound or vibe, by the way they deal with the beats or chord progressions.” “DJ-ing is part of what draws me into making music.”

"See You On The Groove Cruise"
