This is a very different type of video. I recently took up painting again and some of you requested a Speed Painting video so here it is. Sit back, enjoy the music and paint with little Bubz.

This is my 3rd painting lesson with Tim Gagnon. He is a fellow Youtuber and amazing artist. I found him a week ago and have been OBSESSED with his painting techniques. His passion inspires me so much and I’m learning so much from him right now.

For 2012, I decided to take up painting for one of my resolutions. I loved painting as a child. I was obsessed with art because I can go anywhere through my drawings. It freed me because it allowed me to escape from the busy World.

As I get older, I really realize that the simplest things make me happiest. Sometimes, I feel like the World moves too fast for me. Almost 8 years after High School, I plucked up courage to paint again. Painting somehow slows down time for me because it allows me to be 100% focused on the painting.

for my painting story. I hope it also inspires you guys to go back to your passions. I know we can become occupied with life but really, this has given me back lots of meaning in my life again. I don’t think people realize how short life really is so do all the things you want to do that inspires you while you can. Make the most out of it.

I’m still learning from Tim right now (You guys should see his original painting of the one I did lol, it’s like…breathtaking!!!). It will be a while for me to be as skillful (or if not, half as skillful) as he is. But one day, I would love to give away one of my paintings to you guys as a gesture. If I ever hit 1 million subscribers- that would be such a special thing to do.

Some of you mentioned I can auction a painting and put the money to charity. That’s a great idea but it makes me nervous. It’ll be a fun and good cause and I’ll work hard practicing for that day.

The story behind the song:

Each time we write/arrange a tune we take a journey. We have to admit—this journey took us a lot further than we expected. Retracing our steps reveals several factors that made this a reality. As we started arranging it we had serious writer’s block. Perhaps some of the worst we’ve ever had. In fact, one day instead of writing we went around the entire studio with a can of WD-40 and coated every piece of metal to ensure that we were a squeak-free studio. Then on a whim we decided to back away and take an entirely new approach to the song—an African approach. It may seem random in retrospect, but at the time it was an exciting way to restart the arrangement. It was working, but our journey still was on foot until we called in Alex Boye, one of the most talented people we’ve ever met. Alex has this contagious energy that gave new life to the song and to us. He sings the tune in 4 different languages: Swahili, English, Yoruba (his mother’s native language), and Alex’s own African “scat” (we’ll call it…Scafrican) =) Most of the words you hear are translated from the lyrics in the original Coldplay Tune. We’re huge fans of Alex — We bet you are now too!

When we had finished the arrangement we all agreed that listening to it was like taking a journey to somewhere remote and ruggedly beautiful. How were we to depict this with a cello, African percussion and, most difficult of all, a grand piano? We took a risky, but oh-so-valuable turn when we called in helicopters to air-lift us and our instruments where none had gone before! (Please excuse the Trek reference). Since no one had ever done this before where were we to go for advice? Well, we can tell you that Home Depot didn’t have a lot of answers (how disappointing) but we did clean them out of their strongest cable they had. We don’t mind telling you that when that helicopter began lifting our brand new-never-before-played grand piano into the air we couldn’t help close our eyes and cross our fingers. We consider a blessing of Heaven that it worked. I guess we figured that if it didn’t, maybe it could still be a viral video — “PIANO MOVE FAIL” =)

We’d like to thank from the bottom of our hearts, Duane Fielding who offered the helicopters and SkyHawk www.skyhawkhelicopters.com for not dropping the piano…:-) Half-way through the first day of shooting we discovered that, as typical guys, we had forgotten to bring ANY food or water to this remote location. We had two options: one, wrestle a mountain rodent and harvest cacti or two, starve. Duane, our head pilot, took pity on us. He took off (literally) and moments later landed in a Wendy’s parking lot, ordered 5 of everything (sadly, he couldn’t use the drive through)…took off again and brought us chicken sandwiches and hamburgers via airmail. Thank you Duane! Flying in your helicopter was a dream come true for us despite the lack of doors. =)

Boys and girls, it’s another episode of UP CLOSE with Carrie Keagan featuring Midnight Meat Train and today we hanging out at the NGTV Studio Bar, known as the Shark Tank, none other than the Vinnie Jones.
The Midnight Meat Train is a 2008 horror film based on Clive Barker’s 1984 short story of the same name, which can be found in Volume One of Barker’s collection Books of Blood. The film follows a photographer who attempts to track down a serial killer dubbed the “Subway Butcher” and discovers more than he bargained for under the city streets.
The film stars Bradley Cooper, Leslie Bibb, Brooke Shields, Roger Bart, and Vinnie Jones. The film was directed by Japanese director Ryuhei Kitamura and stars Bradley Cooper, Leslie Bibb, Vinnie Jones and Brooke Shields. Its script was adapted by Jeff Buhler, the producer was Tom Rosenberg of Lakeshore Entertainment, and it was released on August 1, 2008.

Producer Joe Daley, a long time friend of Buhler’s, brought the two writers together and helped develop the script, along with producers Anthony Diblasi and Jorge Saralegui, for their newly minted horror factory The Midnight Picture Company. As of this entry, The Midnight Picture Company was busy shooting Book of Blood, the next film adaptation from the anthology of short stories that spawned Midnight Meat Train.
Photographer Leon goes into the city’s subway system at night to take photographs. He saves a woman who is attacked by a gang by pointing out the videocamera. This young woman goes missing by the next day. Leon later finds clues in the photos he has taken that lead him to discover that butcher Mahogany is involved and may be a serial killer, and that there have been people going missing in the subway for at least a hundred years. Leon’s involvement quickly turns into a dark obsession, upsetting Maya and leading her into her own investigations when Leon returns home severely wounded.

Maya and an acquaintance named Jurgis investigate the butcher using the photographs Leon has been taking. After breaking and entering the butcher’s home, Jurgis is captured. The police will not believe Maya’s story, and the police’s involvement with the butcher is revealed when a policewoman leads a misguided Maya onto the late train. Leon, unaware of Maya’s involvement, prepares himself to kill the butcher and end the horror. The climactic battle ensues and Mahogany is killed, but Leon and Maya find that the bodies being slaughtered are actually food for dark, unnamed creatures at the end of the track. A supernaturally strong train conductor murders Maya while a wounded Leon watches on, and then forces Leon into slavery as the new butcher. The last scene has Leon wearing a ring with eight stars, the same ring Mahogany had. A television reports an European union conference as the policewoman sends Leon off for the day, hinting at international involvement in some type of cult.
