It’s hard to believe that almost a whole year has gone by since we first started inviting Christians in the Atlanta marketplace to step out of their comfort zone and share their hope in Christ on video.

In the infancies of the ministry we invited several people in marketplace ministry and the church to a listening/prayer session at Cloudwalk. We heard some very cool things from the Lord. One word was “God is already preparing the hearts of the men and women who will share their stories.” That word has been a tremendous source of peace as we are constantly reminded that this is all His plan, on His time table, for His glory.

This little montage captures the humility and authenticity of men and women surrendering to a higher purpose of which I’m not sure any of us can fully understand the magnitude or potential.

“But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my father in heaven.” – Matthew 10:33

The image below is a tag cloud I complied based on several LinkedIn profiles of business people I know to be devoted Christians.

I suspected that Christ didn’t get a whole lot of love in a marketplace context on LinkedIn, but I wanted to see just where He fits in when you look at it from a macro view. Why do we so quickly and comfortably mention golf, fishing, basketball, alumni, awards, affiliations, yet make hardly any mention to what we claim is the center of our existence and reason for being?

Imagine the ripple effect that would take place if well-connected, surrendered Christians in the marketplace began to share their faith within their LinkedIn profile? Lord knows it isn’t hard (I didn’t say comfortable) to somehow share your faith within your LinkedIn profile. You can: weave it into your summary or interests link to a written testimony or story link to a video testimony link to an inspirational video that shares the Good News.

It’s think it’s a lot harder to muster up the guts and find an opportunity to share your faith with people one on one in the marketplace, or at a coffee house.

Mother Theresa once said, “I alone cannot change the world but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.”

The 3:15 Project is our small stone. Our prayer is that Christians in the marketplace would rise up as an army to magnify Christ by sharing their hope and faith on the internet with gentleness and respect. What’s holding you back?
