She states, “It is so important that a customer can come to Pav’s and know that the kustard they are tasting has tasted the same for the last 40 years.”
 
Customers continue to rave about the tasty flavors, especially the old fashion kustard. Michelle explains, “we spell it with a ‘K’ because it is custard without the egg.” Kustard fans certainly don’t miss the egg as since they continue to love their product. Pav’s always serves chocolate, vanilla, and chocolate almond kustard along with a specialty flavor of the week. Black Raspberry, Pumpkin, New York Cheesecake, and Banana are just a few of the customer favorites. Michelle says she is partial to the Butter Pecan Kustard herself. Yum!
 
Year after year, it’s the customers that continue to make Michelle’s job enjoyable. Because of their loyal fans, they plan on making some big changes in the upcoming years, including serving up more customers’ favorite flavors all summer long. Home of The Original White Pizza

Nearly 18 years ago, Akron was introduced to DeCheco’s Original White Pizza and the hype hasn’t died off since. The beauty parlor turned pizza shop is home to “mom’s” recipes, loyal customers and a family’s life long dream of making pizza.

Jack and Shirley DeCheco opened DeCheco’s barbershop and an adjoining beauty parlor in 1978. After a broken leg left Shirley unable to work in the salon, Jack took a risk and opened up the pizza shop he always wanted. The barbershop moved to the beauty parlor side and the vacant parlor became the Akron staple known as DeCheco’s Pizzeria.

Taking part in the new venture, mom created all the recipes that are still used today. The famous “White Pizza” was the brainchild of Shirley, as she tried many recipes to get that winning combination. The area locals were intrigued by this new idea in pizza and kept spreading the word of the Original White Pizza. Covered in a creamy garlic sauce and topped with fresh tomatoes, banana peppers, black olives and herbs it’s clear to see why this pizza brings in half of DeCheco’s business still today.

Their menu also showcases other favorite specialty pizzas including their Baked Potato Pizza and BLT Pizza. New to their menu is your choice of the Spicy or Sweet BBQ Chicken Pizzas- Yum! You can also build your own pizza with a long list of available toppings. Coming Oct. 14-22

The third annual Cleveland Beer Week takes place from October 14-22, 2011. A nine-day celebration of craft brews, Cleveland Beer Week features hundreds of tasting, activities, dinners, and educational programs at more than 125 venues throughout Northeast Ohio. We hope you will join us as we celebrate the world of craft beer at Cleveland Beer Week.

The week culminates with BREWzilla, a monster of a beer tasting, on Saturday, Oct. 22. This ticketed event has a general admission ticket price of $50. Tickets giving you special access to the Brewer’s Circle, are $75.

BREWzilla will feature more than 70 breweries, a special “Ohio Brewery” area with various beers from local breweries, and appetizers that pair well with craft brews. General Admission tickets include 25 tasting tickets, a 3 oz. tasting glass, and complimentary appetizers courtesy of Winking Lizard. All proceeds benefit Malone Scholarship Fund.

Established in 2009 as the first event of its kind in northeast Ohio, CLEVELAND BEER WEEK is a not-for-profit, collaborative celebration that raises awareness of the strong craft beer industry while promoting patronage at local establishments and energizing the region’s retail economy.
