Just created an Amazing Product that I’m sure you’ll love …

For the last few days I have been putting the final touches to a Premium Quality Sales Page Pack I’ve been designing. And I’m happy to be offering it here to you with PLR Rights …

Your list will LOVE you for this!

Why … ?

Because there simply isn’t another template pack out there of this quality. I know, I spent days searching for quality squeeze pages with matching One Time Offer and Sales pages and found NOTHING that I would have been comfortable using for my product.

Tired of the low quality, rehased, outdated PLR sales pages, I decided to create my own …

So What Make This Sales Page Pack So Special?

I’ve coded and designed this pack myself from the ground up. No outdated tables here, just pure css. This sales page is super clean, super fast loading and great to look at.

I’ve also made is kids play to customise. I’ve included every psd file I used to create this pack. So no hiring a designer to tweek this for you. It’s ready to go plug and play style … just edit, upload and watch it work for you.

Also, you don’t have to worry about this pack finding it’s way onto every Tom, Dick and Harry plr site out there. I’m limiting sales to 50.

This does mean that if you want the template you’ll have to be FAST. I’ll be promoting this offer pretty agressively tomorrow and expect to fill numbers by then ….

Light and Dark Variations

Always one to please I’ve created two variations of the template pack, light and dark. By simply opening a text editor and changing the image name, it’s possible to switch between dark and light!

Light And Dark Variation

PLR

I must be gone crazy because not only am I offering you the opportunity to buy this Premium Qaulity Template Pack but I’m giving you licence to make money from it too.

Sell it to your list, offer it on your membership site or auction it on ebay, I don’t care! Put your own name to it, say you’re the designer … all ok! My only restriction is that it cannot be given away free!

This entry is part 2 of 2 in the series “The Desperate Buyers Only” 10 Day Challenge

Ok, so I have followed the directions in Desperate Buyers Only and have researched my niche. I spent no more than 1 hour on this. I was tempted to use niches that I had come across during previous research that could have worked for the desperate buyer but for the sake of working through the guide, I started from scratch.

I began by brainstorming some keywords in the Google Keyword Tool. After 10 minutes, I had what looked like a potential niche. 76 keywords to work with that would generate up to 120,000 impressions per month. I also found a sub-niche within my main niche with a monthly search volume of 8000 across 28 keywords. I will write this as a seperate desperate buyer infoproduct. Naturally I’m not going to reveal my niche publicly. Suffice to say that it is within the Health/Beauty category.

Following some of the other steps outlined in Desperate Buyers Only, I researched the niche further to find angles/questions relevant to the niche to further refine my keyword search. As it happens, for this niche, the original keywords were as deep as I needed to go as they reflected the most common problem for people searching this niche.

While Desperate Buyers Only gives several methods for generating ideas for desperate buyer products, I was lucky to have found this one quickly. I’m only hoping that I’m not way off the mark and the info product I’m about to create will convert.

I guess that comes down to my sales copy. For now, I’ve got to start writing my product. I plan to spend four hours on it today and will update you tomorrow on my progress …

For now …

This entry is part 1 of 2 in the series “The Desperate Buyers Only” 10 Day Challenge

Yesterday I grabbed a copy of Alexis Dawes “Desperate Buyers Only“. I’ve got to admit it appealed to the lazy writer in me because although I am capable of writing a full length ebook (if I had a gun to my head), I’m easily distracted and have literally dozens of half finished ebooks in my WIP (work in progress) folder. I know, I feel ashamed!

The premise with Desperate Buyers Only is that you find a market desperate for a solution. Now this is nothing new as a selling tactic, as most marketers will try to cash in on a desperate buyers to generate a sale. But what you sell them is a little different. If people are desperate for a solution and you have some advice to offer, Desperate Buyers Only shows you how to create an infomation product that will offer a fix for their problem. In fact you don’t even have to know the fix yourself. The method teaches you how to find it and write about it with authority … nothing new so far, right?

BUT …

These are not lenghty ebooks however. We’re talking 20 - 50 pages max and this is where it gets interesting for me (being a lazy writer ‘n all). These products can literally be created and selling within a couple of hours.

So being curious and always up for a challenge, I’ve decided to set myself the task for July of seeing how well Desperate Buyers Only actually works.

The three stages to my challenge will be

1.Finding desperate topic

2.Writing my desperate topic

3. Promoting my desperate topic

This is how I am thinking it will pan out.

On Day 1 I will work on finding my niche. I want the most desperate bunch of buyers on this planet who will literally throw money at me when I put my great product in front of them!

Day 2, and 3 will be dedicated to writing my 20-ish page info-porduct.

Day 4, I will create the sales page, report cover and all other graphics and copy needed.

On Day 5 I will begin promotion and continue to Day 10 - forum posting, blog posting, article submissions (… maybe, as this is not a method recommended in the book) and a couple of other promotion strategies suggested.

I don’t plan to working 24/7 at this over my 10 day challenge. I don’t think it requires it. More time will be required for actually writing the product but I figure a few hours a day on some of the other tasks, such as niche research and promotion, should be sufficient.

So, I’ll go get started …

Until tomorrow …

It’s almost here. I got up this morning to an email inviting me to preview, Flippa.com, the new Sitepoing Marketplace. Since I first heard the announcment of impending change, I’ve been more than a little worried. When something you have been using for some time to make money announces changes, it’s bound to give you the wobblies!

So now that it’s here, what’s does the new marketplace mean for sellers?

On the upside, it’s a clean interface that follows a pretty typical web 2.0 design. Easy to navigate and manage, the site is pleasing to use. Though it’s a far cry from what marketplace users are used to, for most there shouldn’t be any problem making the transition to the new marketplace.

The big question is, why the need for change at all? The old marketplace worked fine for everybody and as they saying goes “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.

The rationale for change most likey comes down to money. The new price structure which sets $19 as the flat fee for all listing seems unjust. I don’t believe that somebody listing a website for $300 should pay the same listing fee as somebody selling a site for $30,000. Typically startup sites sell for far less than established sites, so those operating in this part of the marketplace are bound to feel the impact.

Add to this the 5% success fee and those selling at low cost will find quite a large chunk of their profit diminished.

For short-term flippers, particularly blog flippers selling at the popular $297 price point, the price hike adds an extra $25 onto the cost of flipping a $297 site. For those selling below $100, as many are, I don’t see how they could continue.

The positive side of the increased listing fee and success commission, is that it might filter out the low quality websites and sellers operating at this end of the market. This may bring healthy competition back at sustainable prices for quality sellers.

Secondly, as a standalone web property, seperate from the Marekplace, Flippa.com is a far more valuable assest to Sitepoint owners. It could be sold on for a considerable sum if desired. It seems only logical that a site that facilitates sellers to flipping web properties for considerable sums, would not themselves cash in on this, or at the very least set themselves up to have that option!

A recent experience of mine taught me a valuable lesson that I’d like to share. I visit at least 50 domains a day during my average 10 hour work day, maybe more. Many of these are to sites that help me build and grow my Internet business. How many of them do I remember at the end of the day? Not may at all and I guess that’s why we have bookmarks. But I have a habit of dumping stuff in my bookmarks that I make a mental note to come back to. The reality is, it gets lost amid my hundreds of other bookmarks and I am very unlikely to remember to go back to it EVER!

So recently I was browsing and came across a domain called www.whopopsyourpopcorn.com. Because of the context of the link , I knew it was an IM site and it sounded fun. How many Internet Marketing sites are fun? The domain said to me, this is somebody with imagination and energy. I clicked through with a certain amount of anticipation.

Turns out the domain is for a show hosted by mother and daughter team , Shahar and Nashlah, social networking advisers who hold advanced degrees in business, ecommerce and consumer psychology. Not your typical suited up, over polished presenters, just a couple of regular women who know what they are talking about.

Here’s what they say about their choice of domain name - whopopsyourpopcorn.com

Back in the day when microwaves were not an option to make popcorn, one would get some kernels and put them in a pan. After some minutes, the corn would start to pop. At first there would be a pop here and a pop there and then the popping would be everywhere.

Social media marketing works the same way, someone starts talking about your business here, then someone else there, and suddenly everyone is talking about your business!

The analogy was such a great one, the domain instantly stuck with me. So much so, that I called my husband and kids into to look at the show and told people about it and even posted here about it.

I regularly check back to see what Shahar and Nash have going on in the show and I never needed to bookmark this domain. It stuck instantly. Why … ?

Because …

It stood out from the crowd and caught my attention

It was associated with a strong metaphor that helped me remember it and give meaning to it

It fulfilled my expectations - I expected a fun and energetic website. It delivered.

It touched on my emotions - childhood memories of popping popcorn and the joy of the experience

This domain did all the right things to grab my attention and make itself sticky in my mind. The lesson to be learned I guess is to think outside the box when it comes to choosing domain names. Sometimes going for the most obvious choice is not the best strategy. Being imaginative and giving meaning or a story to you domain, will suceed in making it memorable and meaningful.

I am now a lifetime fan of Shahar and Nash and guess what? I can’t remember the 49 other domains I visited that day!

Back in February of this year something amazing happened on the Established Sites Marketplace on the Sitepoint. A site just over 30 days old sold for $6200. This site was just old enough to be listed in the established site section which is restricted to sites over 30 days old.

The site was in the console/gaming niche and claimed to have made $1700 profit during January, it’s first and only month of business at the time of the sale. This profit was achieved through a PPC campaign which the seller claimed cost $10 a day or $300 a month to run. Pretty remarkable if this was the case.

People were interested, believed the sales pitch and stats and somebody bought the site.

Two months later the site was listed again on Sitepoint by the new owner! She had spent $6200 on a profitable site that she was now willing to let go for $5000 so she could “concentrate on more important projects”. What’s more important than a site that takes 30 minutes a day to run and brings in $1700 a month profit?

If a profitable site is relisted within weeks of being sold, something is off!

Obviously regulars to the marketplace would have been instantly suspicious of this relisting and the site reached a maximum bid of $3000, which was below the reserve. It didn’t sell second time around.

Smelling a rat, I ran the domain through keywordspy, a cool resource for all kinds of ppc and keyword research. Low and behold, the spend shown for adwords by the first owner in January was a long way off the $10 a day claimed in the listing. The actual daily ad spend for the site during January was $116.

I haven’t revealed the site because I feel sympathy for the new owner who as you can see from the graph below continued during February to pay the $10 daily ppc budget she believed the site was profitable on when she bought it, increasing her spend in April (when the site was relisted on SP) to over $30 a day but continuing to claim as $10 a day ppc budget.

The guy who sold this listing first time round obviously took a huge risk. He ran up over $3K worth of adwords for a month to make a profit of $3000. Not bad for a months work if you are prepared to dupe innocent people into buying a site that is likely not profitable on ppc campaigns or only just breaks even.

Sitepoint Scammer Sniffout Lesson Number One …

Investigate any claims of ad spend, especially when they seem to be good to be true! There are numerous tools to help you with this. For me, keywordspy is about the best. The basic functionality is free and gives you enough information to research scams like this.

What is website flipping?

Webite site flipping is just like real estate flipping, buy cheap, add value and sell at a profit. However, unlike the real estate analogy, website flipping can turn profits is hours rather than months and years. It involves hunting down virtual real estate bargains, renovating them or allowing them to mature and selling them on for a significant profit.

There are two types of flippers …

1.Those who look for fast turnaround creating low investment small blogs or forumula sites (usually a wordpress blog with 10 articles and a plr ebook or a clickbank product) . Those flipping websites using this method can expect to turnover between $100 and $3000 per site. Typically the wordpress sites sell for between $247 and $347 while Clickbank products can achieve up to $1000.

2.Tthose who invest long term, spending more money and putting more effort into adding value to the site, achieving much higher price on sale.

Let’s look at the first type who typically sell in the Sitepoint Startup Section …

Because of the ease with which these types of sites, especially the wordpress blogs, can be created, the market for these, which is largely Sitepoint, has become saturated. Site flippers are finding it more and more difficult to achieve the prices or number of sales they were reaching two months ago.

Some sellers are offering cut price websites that others have been used to selling for double or even triple the price. This is making it more and more difficult to sustain the level of profits that were possible previously. Right now, competition in the startup section of Sitepoint is fierce.

Whether or not this situation continues remains to be seen. I have seen people on some of the private site flipping forums talk about moving out of the low cost, short turnaround flips after their listings failed to sell, towards the more long term flips. If this happens, maybe the market will pick up again, at least for a short while until it floods over yet again and continues the cycle!

There are always peaks and troughs in the Sitepoint marketplace and it reamins to be seen how long this one lasts for.

My advice would be to avoid selling blog style flips for now unless you are capable of producing sites of the highest quality, as this is what you will need to stand out from the crowd right now in the Sitepoint marketplace.

Sure, there are some sellers still making money and flipping successfully but these sellers have built a strong list to whom they can market new sites , driving traffic and bids to their listing. They are also well established sellers, with excellent feedback and a lot of experience in choosing the right niches for selling.

All this is a contributing factor to your success on Sitepoint as low cost site flipper on Sitepoint.

When I started out I was naive. I’m almost embarrassed to admit this but I was so naive I even got sucked into the $1 pyramid scam believing I had found my way to huge riches! Now, that was a long time ago, and the $1 pyramid scam no longer involves snail mail but instant paypal payments. I’m sure there are many people still falling for it today as I did 5 years ago …

because new students of IM are vulnerable …

Instead of having one instructor or tutor to guide and direct us, as we do in offline learning situations, we have literally hundreds to choose from, all teaching different methods and I’m afraid, may of them telling us different lies or at the very least withholding certain truths.

Here’s are the three biggest eye-openers I discovered on my journey.

Wake-Up Call #1 - Adsense Checks

You’ve probably come across the image of Shoemoney’s awe inspiring Adsense check. Seeing stuff like this, as a student of making money online, is inspirational. We could be forgiven for thinking that if we create enough blogs and dedicate enough time to posting in them, someday we will earn simiar amount of money.

That’s how I had it figured and ever enthusiastic I gave it a shot. After building several blogs and seeing only minimal amounts of money ticking up in adsense each day for tedious hours of work, I figured this wasn’t going to be as easy as it seemed.

It was quite some time before I realised that it was PPC Abritrage that was pumping up the adsense checks for pro’s like Schoemacker.

To get really huge adsense checks, you need send cheap traffic to your blogs and set up your sites in such as way that you gain high conversions on clicks for ads which pay out far more than it cost you send the visitors there in the first place.

Wake-Up Call #2 - Clickbank Earnings

Everybody knows the sales pages that can’t show you enough of what it is possible to earn and how easy it is to make a bazzillion dollars a day promoting clickbank products.

I’m sure there are people working quietly at their computer cashing in huge Clickbank checks but is it is really that easy to earn such massive profits or could they be faking it. I wonder …

It turns out that by using a simple piece of Javascript code, web pages become editable. Apply the code and start typing in any amount of money you want, and viola , you’re an instant super millionaire. Screengrab and paste in your website. You’re now a Guru and you’ve fooled everybody!

This must be one of the easiest ways to fool newcomers. It worked on me!

Wake-Up Call #2 - Make Money Starting With Nothing.

This is something that it took me a LONG time to wake up to. Like most people starting out in Internet Marketing I didn’t have a lot to spend. In fact, in the beginning I had NOTHING to spend and that is one of the biggest reasons why I struggled for so.

I believed I could do it ALL without having to spend money - Wrong, Wrong, Wrong!

Not matter how many headlines tell you that you can start out and build your empire from nothing. It is not ture. You will need to spend money to make money. Sure you can get by with a few dollars for a domain name and hosting but to make serious money you need to be able expand beyond that, pay for ads, outsource, buy quality learning products.

I have started to have some ebooks written, some in the hope of flipping as Clickbank ready products on Sitepoint.com and others to sell on the back of some niche blogs I am developing.

I’ll share briefly my experience in finding quality writers, how much I have had to pay and the mistakes I have made.

Just to be clear before I begin, I’m not talking about long detailed ebooks. The standard on Sitepoint for Clickbank ready products seems to be about 50 pages or 12,000 - 14,000 words approximately and it is ebooks of this length that ‘m referring to within this post.

I began my search on oDesk. I had used oDesk before with some success. I decided to post my job as a 12,000 word writing project rather than specifically an ebook project and I figured the moment people hear ebook the price is immediately higher. A 12,000 word project could be posted as 7 detailed articles and mean the difference between paying $150 and $450. Each article could be a chapter and I think presenting the task this way makes a big difference to the writer pyschologically and to the price they charge.

I hired two writers from oDesk, an Indian company charging $83 for the project. Too good to be true? Yes, they took on the job and after an tonne of miscommunication, being tossed from one writer to another, they refunded my deposit a week later and told me they were booked and would contact me in the future!

I also hired a British writer, who charged $122 for the project. The quality was decent but the project was sent back 50% shorter than it should have been and had to be rewritten which extended it way beyond the 7 day turnaround I had specified.

So not much success on oDesk!

Since deciding to develop Information Products, I’m always on the watch for potentially good writers and while browsing the Digitalpoint forums, I came across a couple of people whose posts suggested they were quality writers. I contacted both, one in the US and the other in the UK.

On initial contact with the US writer I asked for her price on a 12,000 word ebook and she came back with $450, way beyond my budget! On explaining a little futher that this wasn’t a ghost-writing project as such but rather a series of detailed articles combined into a mini-ebook, she agreed to my budget of $160 dollars. Perfect!

She has since delivered my first ebook, excellent standard, on time, well formatted and presented.

My Uk writer is also a gem, fast turnaround, excellent scope and range of interests and a great writer.

It is worth nothing that they are both graduates. This makes a huge difference to the quality of the work.

I have often seen it posted around that you will never find quality freelancers on Digitalpoint, that is full of scammers and people looking to make a quick buck! I think amidst all the chaff, there are some gems in there. You only need to be patient while searching for them. And treat them well once you find them. They are few and far between.

I started my first serious ppc campaign about three weeks ago for a small dropshipping ecommerce store I had built. The store was in the gaming niche and I had seen a similar one for sale on Sitepoint which claimed an amazing $1700 return a month on a $10 a day ppc budget, which sounded too good to be true, and it was. (I later found that this was a scam. A post on this is on the way!)

The person who bought the site on Sitepoint was still running ads which meant that it must be profitable, if not to the extent the seller claimed. Impossible as it seemed for a complete novice with Google Adwords, I took on the challenge of bringing my site into profit on a $10 a day budget. I wasn’t looking for a $1700 return but doubling my money would be nice.

Week one was a disaster. I hopped from content to search, to search only to content only to search only in 3 countries to search and content in 179 countries …. you get the idea. I was clueless. Needless to say, there was no profit this week.

Week two I slowed down and broke even and week 3 was similar.

Feeling really frustrated, I remembered an email I had gotten from Rosalind Gardner a long time ago that I had glimpsed and then trashed. Some guy was paying over $3 a click in the spyware niche for specific keywords. How did she know this? She was using ppc keyword spy to check out what keywords competitors were bidding on, how much they were paying and how many clicks they were getting.

At last, a glimmer of hope. I could possibly find out what keywords my competitor was using to keep her campaign in profit.

When I checked it out, I was amazed to see that I could try out ppc keyword spy for free and it was a simple Firefox plugin!

Immediately, even with the trail limitations I could see my competitor was bidding on keywords that I hadn’ t even thought of and I could see how much I needed to pay to be up there in the ranks.

The PPC Keyword Spy plugin simply places a ‘View Keywords’ link under each ad. The free version shows only 10 results, which sometimes can be enough to give you competitive advantage. The full version will display up to 100 competitor keywords. Simply clicking on the

View Keywords will pop up all the information you need. PPC Keyword Spy is a dream come as far as competitor espionnage is concerned.

PPC Keyword Spy, the full version is definitely next on my list of IM investments. I don’t run enough ppc campaigns yet but this tool has given me the little push to feel safer experimenting with dropshipping.

So is my Adwords campaign turning me a profit. Yes! I spend $10, I make $20. That was my goal. Nothing to shout about but I know now that I can create 10 more dropshipping sites, confident that I have the tools to set up and manage a profitable ppc campaign!
