It’s time… they’re finally here.

Samsung has released the latest devices in their formidable range of foldable phones, and you can now pre-order the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 and Flip4 on Three.

Wait… what are foldable phones? And why should you get one?

In a nutshell, foldable phones give the clever people designing these bad boys twice the space to work with. As a result, that means you can then enjoy a device with a bigger screen, larger battery, a faster processor and a more powerful camera.

Perfect for multitaskers, foldable phones are a bit like having 2 monitors – imagine sitting on the train and being able to binge watch a Netflix show whilst writing an email.

You could say that foldable phones are the perfect combination of smartphone and tablet. A durable hybrid that slides into your pocket easily.

Oh, and they look pretty cool, too.

Samsung’s foldable phones

These types of devices have come on leaps and bounds in recent years and Samsung’s foldable phones are arguably leading the way.

Millions have now been sold, as they become more common around the world.

When it comes to the foldable phones on the market, both the Fold4 and Flip4 are stylish and innovative game-changers.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4

The most obvious difference between the Fold4 and the Flip4 is that the Fold4 bends like a book, while the Flip4 folds vertically.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 has a triple-lens camera and large 7.6-inch internal display, plus a case for the S Pen it supports. It’s waterproof and has a stronger frame than the Fold 3.

What we love about the Fold4

The Galaxy Fold3 was a huge success and the Fold4 has kept everything we loved about the previous model and improved it. The Fold4 is thinner and lighter than its predecessor, but it’s just as strong.

The Samsung Galaxy Flip4

The screen size will be the same as the Galaxy Flip3 (at 6.7 inches), so although there hasn’t been a radical design change to the Flip3, significant upgrades have been made.

The Flip4 is slightly thicker and feels more durable, whilst the crease down the middle of the phone has been reduced, making for a more seamless look and feel.

What we love about the Flip4

The hinge design has been vastly improved and you also get loads of colour combinations to choose, from, so you can really get the look you want.

Why get the Fold4 and Flip4 on Three?

You can pre-order the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 or Galaxy Z Flip4 today, on a Pay Monthly contract, or on Pay As You Go. You’ll also get access to our 5G network and, according to Ookla, that’s the fastest 5G network around.

Plus, you know that you’ll be on the Best Network for Data.

Where to get your hands on the new Samsung Fold4 and Flip4?

Now that the Fold4 and Flip4 have launched on Three, you can pre-order either device online or in your nearest store.

Pack up the caravan or motorhome for summer holidays to discover the UK in a new and exciting way. Between 2020 and 2021 a total of 16,608 motorhomes/ caravans were registered with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA)*. This is the highest number of sales in recent years, and it was all due to travel lovers seeking new ways to travel without leaving the country due to the pandemic. Whether you’re planning a weekend trip up the Jurassic Coast or driving the kids to the grandparents in Cumbria motorhomes/caravans are the perfect way to mix work and play this Summer.

Carvaning’ is all fun and games until it’s 9pm and it’s time to stream Love Island or you missed an important work meeting because of connectivity issues. Fight back against connection issues with potential solutions like hot spotting, public WiFi, or mobile broadband devices.

Below we have listed the ways you can get WiFi in your morothome/caravan:
Using your phone or tablet hotspot as WiFi
Using Public WiFi
Use a MiFi device

Using your phone or tablet hotspot as WiFi

Enjoy Netflix shows and update Facebook with epic roadside photos from your caravan with a reliable mobile WiFi connection. This can be done by creating a hotspot with your mobile or tablet to use your WiFi just like you’re at home. Hotspotting is simple and convenient. To hotspot you can use your mobile or tablet to create a WiFi signal with a mobile signal that will then allow internet access.

The techy explanation is that you’re leveraging your phone’s reception to the nearest tower and turning it into a mini router. This creates the ability for other devices to connect to your phone. The benefits of this type of connection are that you’re giving your caravan WiFi access making it easy for you and the family to stay connected on the go. And you will be able to enjoy apps and devices that require WiFi.

Hotspotting comes with a lot of positives, but it also has its negatives. The performance level won’t be the same as a Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) because those hubs use antennas to access more power. Also, only a limited number of devices will be able to connect.

When it comes to hotspotting the more data you have the better which is why we’ve made it easy for you to upgrade to a contract that gives you more or tap into data add-ons on the go.

Using public WiFi

Free public WiFi is extremely common, and you can literally get it anywhere you are. Malls, café’s, airports or in the case of caravanning holiday parks. Free WiFi is affordable and allows you to save money on data charges while do more internet related activities on the go. It also aids productivity by allowing you to choose your office and work from anywhere.

The downsides of public WiFi are its reliability, security, and low speeds. Public connections go down a lot because they can’t support heavy user loads, which makes them unreliable. They’re also more susceptible to attacks because of how many people are using the network in one area. If your device doesn’t have a strong firewall at the time of access, then you’re putting yourself at risk especially if you’re sending out confidential information. Public WiFi is notorious for operating at slower speeds. Too many users on the network results in a loss of bandwidth which leads to a slow network speed.

Use a MiFi device

MiFi is a term used to describe a wireless router that acts as a mobile WiFi hotspot. This is the perfect solution for your motorhome/ caravan. You can use MiFi or MiFi dongles anywhere you can connect to WiFi, creating a localised, portable signal. MiFi also allows you to connect multiple devices. MiFi taps in 4G and 5G mobile phone networks and this connection can be shared between laptops, tablets, smartphones, and some gaming consoles. So, you and the family can take your streaming and downloading habits on the road without a hitch!

For more storage, wireless dongles and mobile broadband dongles are compatible with SD cards. Another big advantage of MiFi is it requires very little setup so you can get online in a matter of seconds. Expect high speeds, the ability to connect multiple devices, and no need for software download during set up.

Which solution works best for you?

Mobile broadband , MiFi devices or dongles are all necessary WiFi options for travelling around the UK this Summer in a motorhome/ caravan. It’s really up to you to choose which options works best for your requirements. If you’re travelling with family, then choose one of our mobile broadband options that allows you to add on data when you need it. Take advantage of our 4G Plus MiFi, currently at 6 months half price on 12 and 24 month contracts with unlimited data, perfect for the upcoming holidays. Or upgrade your existing plan to one of our options that will give you enough data to stream shows and connect multiple devices.

At Three we’re lacing up our trainers and getting ready to clock up the miles, in support of Samaritans’ Samarathon. Fancy joining us?

We’re excited to be the official sponsor of this huge fundraiser again this year, which encourages everyone to run, jog, or walk the equivalent of a marathon throughout July. Fitting it in around your everyday life. The month-long event will help save lives – raising money so that Samaritans’ awesome volunteers can continue providing vital emotional support.

Why you should join us

Fresh air and exercise are known to help boost physical and mental wellbeing. So, while you’re raising money for an incredible cause, you’ll also be looking after your own health. All you need to do is choose how, when, and where you complete your 26.2 miles. You’ve got the whole of July to get the miles in. And friends and family can sign up too – cheering each other on in-person or remotely.

Right now, more people are finding it hard to cope. Rising costs mean that people are finding it harder to make ends meet. Samaritans know that financial insecurity is a risk factor for suicide. Every mile you do this July will help make sure everyone has somewhere to turn, no matter what they’re going through.

“On the two occasions when I reached out to Samaritans, I was in a pretty desperate place. The ability to get those feelings out – the feelings of lack of self-worth, hopelessness, whatever you want to call it – empowered me to then go to the people around me.” Ian, Samaritans caller.

How to sign up

To join forces with Three and support this year’s Samarathon, all you need to do is follow the simple steps on the Samarathon website.

You’ll be taken to a fundraising platform from Enthuse, where you can register for the event and set up your page. Sign up with friends, family, or work mates – or go it alone if you prefer. You can easily link your page with Strava to track your miles automatically. Then share your fundraising page far and wide to help raise money for Samaritans.

Raising £50 could enable Samaritans to answer 10 potentially lifesaving calls for help.

Our partnership with Samaritans

At Three, we’re all about connecting people. Our partnership with Samaritans is the perfect opportunity to inspire customers to really listen to their friends and family. To be a Better Phone Friend whenever they can. During our 3-year partnership, we’re working together to expand Samaritans’ services and help more people access emotional support, 24/7, 365 days a year.

More about Samaritans

Anyone can contact Samaritans for free, at any time from any phone on 116 123. Even a mobile phone without credit can make this call. And the number won’t show up on your phone bill.

Or you can email jo@samaritans.org. Or go to www.samaritans.org for more email options, face-to-face calls, online chat, and postal details.

Samaritans respond to a call for help every 10 seconds. Samaritans is a charity and it’s the public’s kind donations and more than 22,000 volunteers that mean they’re always there for anyone struggling to cope.

Find out how you can support Samaritans or  volunteer with them. Whatever you’re going through, Samaritans will face it with you.

The new Google Pixel 6 Pro has finally landed at Three and it doesn’t disappoint. Google is giving you a completely redesigned phone with something you’ve always dreamt of…all-day battery. That’s right all-day battery is a big ask but they’ve delivered so you can respond to work emails, respond to you ‘Summer vibes’ group chat, edit photos and stream your favourite shows without missing a beat. The Google Pixel 6 was designed for daily life and its Google Tensor processor makes it the smartest and fastest Pixel phone to date.

It’s up to 80% faster than the Pixel 5, but how does it compare to its predecessor the Pixel 6?

Pixel 6 vs Pixel 6 Pro – The Camera

The Pixel 6 features a 50MP main camera and a 12MP ultrawide camera. The only difference on the Pixel 6 Pro is that Google has added a third camera – a 48MP Telephoto with 4x optical zoom and 20x digital zoom. The Pixel 6 has up to 7x digital zoom making it the lesser of the two when it comes to zoom strengths.

The Pixel 6 Pro gains a point over the Pixel 6 as it pertains to sharp shooting and vivid videos especially in low light. Its powerful camera system and pro-like lenses are a photographers dream with a main sensor that captures 150% more light than any other Pixel ever. With the Pixel 6 Pro, you’ll find new features like Magic Eraser, which helps you remove unwanted parts of photos, and Face Unblur, which adds definition to faces that the camera didn’t quite capture.

Both phone cameras capture vibrant and detailed photos, but the Pixel 6 Pro is definitively a photo lovers dream and takes this round.

Pixel 6 vs Pixel 6 Pro – Battery Life

The Google Pixel 6 has a 4,614 mAh battery while the Pixel 6 Pro has a larger 5,003 mAh battery. Both phones boast 24-hour battery life and can last up to 48 hours when Extreme Battery Saver mode turned on.

What does this mean for your daily life? Simply put, it means more screen time, more streaming your latest Netflix obsession, or more time to capture and edit videos on the go if vlogging is your thing.

The Pixel 6 Pro’s adaptive battery is everything a battery should be. It learns your favourite apps, so it doesn’t waste power on the ones you never us. By turning on Extreme Battery Saver, it keeps your essential apps running and turns off other apps to save on power. The battery lasts up to 48 hours with Extreme Battery Saver, so there’s always power when you need it. And with the compatible 30W charger, the Pixel 6 models both charge up to 50% charge in 30 minutes.

Battery wise it’s a draw, both phones have fast charging and long lasting batteries.

Pixel 6 vs Pixel 6 Pro – The Display

The Pixel 6 models both have Gorilla Glass Victus on the front and back, as well as a camera bar on the back.

The models differ in a few areas, the most obvious being their size. The Pixel 6 boasts a 6.4-inch OLED display while the Pro has an impressive 6.7-inch. Another feature that is different between the two are their cameras. The Pixel 6 has two rear cameras while the Pro sports three.

The Pixel 6 has a 90Hz refresh rate which guarantees more responsive gaming and scrolling. And high brightness mode lets you watch and play in bright sunlight. The Pro on the other hand has a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother, more responsive performance. Its display automatically adjusts to whatever you’re doing, which makes it battery efficient. And with high brightness mode, you can watch and play in bright sunlight.

The clear winner is the Pixel 6 Pro.

Pixel 6 Pro – Colours

There are a range of different colour options for both phones. The Pixel 6 comes in Stormy Black, Sorta Seafoam and Kinda Coral, while the Pro comes in Stormy Black, Cloudy White and Sorta Sunny.

Which one is right for you?

Both the Pixel 6 and Pro are great phones for social media lovers, photographers, business owner and vloggers alike. Google made good on their promise of the Pixel 6 models being designed for everyday life with essential features like 24-hour adaptive battery, super-fast charging, and impressive cameras. So, which do you choose when the phones seem to be equally good?

If you’re looking for a phone that is fast, small, secure and adapts to you then the Pixel 6 is for you. Google’s custom-built chip helps to keep your phone fast, your games rich, and your personal information safe.

The Pixel 6 Pro is simply the Pixel 6 reimagined for individuals with fast and busy lives that require a device that will not only keep up but will simplify their days. Use Call Screen to avoid unwanted calls. Talk to Google to get things done fast, send texts and emails, add lists, and easily control your apps. If your alarm goes off when your hands are full, just say: “Stop.”

The possibilities are endless with the Pixel 6 and Pro, it’s up to you to choose the one that will make daily life a little more hassle free.

How to get your hands on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro?

When it comes to high performance the Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6 do not disappoint. The Pixel models are for serious screen lovers, photographers and those who lead busy lives.

That’s right, the all-new HONOR Magic4 Series is here, and it’s arrived in style. HONOR’s first major launch in the UK is set to make some serious waves. The Series comprises both the Magic4 Pro and the Magic4 Lite; each with its own unique features. But what’s the difference between them? And which one’s right for you? Let’s explore.

HONOR Magic4 Pro: The essentials

Iconic design

Unlike most flagship handsets, the HONOR Magic4 Pro sets its periscope telephoto camera in the centre. So the rear camera looks super-striking and will certainly turn heads.

It’s all about colour

The Magic4 Pro’s 6.81in display boasts 1.07 billion colours. Did you know there were that many colours? We didn’t. This means the Magic4 Pro is certified HDR10+ and IMAX Enhanced. Basically, the visuals are incredible.

Photography

HONOR Magic4 Pro’s triple camera system brings you a 50MP wide camera, a 50MP 122° ultra-wide snapper, and a 64MP periscope telephoto lens. Plus, a whole load of fancy extra features which we’ll go into in more detail later.

Battery

Need to charge in a hurry? Magic4 Pro boasts a 4600mAh battery which gives you plenty of power throughout the day. And its wired or wireless charging options give you super-fast charging when you’re short on time.

HONOR Magic4 Lite: The essentials

Great view

The Magic4 Lite’s 6.81in Ultra HD screen has a 94% screen-to-body ratio.

All-day battery

If you’ve got a long day ahead of you, Magic4 Lite will back you up. Seriously – nearly 13 hours of playback, or over 25 hours of calls, all on one full charge.

Capture every moment

Photographers and filmmakers will get their fill, with Magic4 Lite’s 3 HD cameras. Plus, with its optimised imaging algorithm, you’ll be a pro in no time.

What we’re loving about Magic4

Let’s get into the detail of these phones a little more…

The cameras

HONOR Magic4 Pro: capture all you want and more

Are you ready for your close-up? Magic4 Pro offers 3.5x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom. And with its multi-point laser focus sensor, you can focus on anything you want, quickly and accurately. And get your bokeh effects on too.

Plus, if you’re feeling fancy, you can tap into its advanced features:

Advanced wide camera: The advanced wide camera has a superior lens than its predecessor, and an upgraded algorithm. So, you can capture sharp HDR photography.

Night mode: Take stunning photos, even in low light. With a large aperture, and extra-large sensor, your Magic is perfect for shooting at night.

Magic-Log: An industry-first 10-bit Log 4K video recording in 60fps delivers cinematic-level footage. Magic4 Pro is built for smartphone filmmaking. Magic-Log pro mode gives you more original details and dynamic range information. Now anyone can shoot professional-level movies.

HONOR Magic4 Lite: Be a professional in no time

The Lite has 3 rear cameras to play with: a 48MP main camera, plus a 2MP macro and 2MP Bokeh. So, you can stun your friends and followers with a wide range of beautiful images, from super close-ups to landscapes, and everything in between.

The displays

If 1.07 billion colours isn’t quite enough for you, the Magic4 Pro offers a truly immersive experience. Its combined LTPO 1~120Hz adaptive refresh rate and 1920Hz PWM dimming technology delivers beautiful, smooth viewing. And the Magic4 Lite gives you beautiful smoothness too, with up to a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate.

Magic4: Batteries and storage that keep going and going

HONOR Magic4 Pro:

As well as its 4,600mAh battery, the 100W wireless HONOR SuperCharge can charge the phone to 50% in 15 minutes. Or, if you fancy plugging in, Magic4 Pro also has 100W wired HONOR SuperCharge. It’s made from super-conductive hexagonal graphene. Which basically means it conducts faster, but without overheating. And, the Magic4 Pro comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB memory.

HONOR Magic4 Lite:

With a large battery and HONOR’s AI smart power saving technology, you’ll get a longer battery life. And its powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 6nm processor gives you more power while saving power. Plus, you can charge up to 81% in only 30 minutes. Plus, the Magic4 Lite comes with 6GB RAM. But its dynamic RAM Turbo technology gives you an extra 2GB ROM to boost your performance when you need it.

Design to blow your mind

The Magic4 Series is designed using cutting-edge thermal glass bending. It gives it a beautiful quad-curved screen, which fits perfectly and comfortably in your hands.

Which one should you choose?

As with all Series, it really depends on what’s important to you. Both these phones have a beautiful, curved design with 6.81in screens, so size isn’t a key factor between Pro and Lite. It’s more about display and cameras. The HONOR Magic4 Pro offers superior camera options, plus a more vivid, detailed viewing experience on its screen. The Lite will save you a little on costs, while still offering a gorgeous display and wonderful image capture. Both deliver a high-performance, fast-charging and smooth-scrolling experience. Whichever one you choose, one thing’s for sure: the HONOR Magic4 Series is a serious contender in the world of premium smartphones.

Where can you get your hands on one?

Right here! Both the HONOR Magic4 Pro and the HONOR Magic 4 Lite are available on Pay Monthly and Pay As You Go phone contracts at Three. Or, if you want to get your hands on it before you buy, come in-store to explore HONOR for yourself.

Times are changing. Way back in 2003, we were proud to launch the UK’s first 3G network, kickstarting a mobile revolution. Now we’re 2 decades on, and feeling pretty nostalgic about it.

In 2003, Concorde took its final flight, Ronaldo made his Manchester United debut, Peep Show came to our TV screens, and 50 Cent ruled the charts. People even got excited about the Nokia 3200.

So much has changed. Smartphones were non-existent and data was hardly ‘a thing’. Now our network carries nearly a third of all mobile traffic in the UK.

In order to continue offering a reliable service to all our customers we need to upgrade parts of our network. This means that by the end of 2024, we’ll be switching 3G off.

Don’t worry, nothing’s going to happen anytime soon. And by the time we do switch off our 3G technology, we’ll have upgraded all our sites to 4G. Plus, we’ll continue to roll out our award-winning 5G network at the same time.

So, why are we doing this?

We’re proud of what we’ve achieved and the standards we’ve set over the years, but we need to look to the future.

The government has requested that all public 2G and 3G networks are switched off by 2033 at the latest, to create new and exciting possibilities. So we’re moving fast and staying one step ahead.

The demand for data is huge these days with the average customer currently using a whopping 19GB per month. This figure is increasing by 20% every year as more and more devices and objects become ‘connected’. So, we need to invest in newer, more efficient technologies that give our customers all the benefits of being on one of the UK’s biggest networks.

By switching off our 3G network, we can free up resources and focus on improving our 4G and 5G services for all customers.

How does this affect your current 3G service?

3G can’t carry as much data as 4G or 5G, so at the moment it’s struggling and the experience you’ll be having on 3G won’t be as good as it should. Once the whole country is covered by 4G or 5G, you’ll start to enjoy an improved mobile experience.

All our customers will eventually be in either a 4G or 5G area, so the transition will be totally seamless. You’ll literally get a better service overnight with faster download speeds, better quality streaming and a generally smoother experience.

Since 2018 we haven’t sold any 3G only devices and all our 4G devices have been VoLTE capable (which means ‘voice over LTE’ 4G network) and ready for the future. However, if you’ve got an older 3G-only or non-VoLTE device, as the switch off day approaches, we’ll help you stay connected. It’ll also be worth checking our Device Compatibility tool.

The future

In the meantime, there’s plenty to get excited about. You’re already on the UK’s Fastest 5G Network* – so if you fancy trying it out, check if 5G is in your area now.

Then, all you need is a 5G Ready phone to be able to experience super-fast streaming, browsing, gaming, and playing.

When it comes to affordable and high performing phones Xiaomi is an industry leader. So, it is no surprise that the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro do not disappoint. If you love small phones, taking photos that capture every detail and a powerful battery, these phones are for you.

The new Xiaomi 12 series is here, and the brand known for affordability isn’t holding back with the release of the Xiaomi 12 5G and Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G. We’re dubbing these two new options from Xiaomi, small but mighty and packed with enough technology to challenge any industry leading phone on the market today. Both phones feature a crystal clear 50MP rear camera to capture your best moments of Summer 2022. The Xiaomi 12 Pro has Sony’s new IMX707 sensor to capture 120% more light than past phones such as the Mi 11. Another standout feature of the 12 series is the introduction of fast charging, which means you can triple your scroll time without running out of battery life.

The Xiaomi 12 vs 12 Pro Camera

The Xiaomi standard for cameras is quite high, from phone to phone the 50MP rear camera is a staple for the company. Both the 12 and 12 Pro share this front camera that was designed to amplify low light photos, but this is where the similarities end.

Get studio quality shots on the 12 with it’s 32MP front camera or focus on the smallest details with the 5MP macro lens. Use the main camera to capture dynamic and sharp daytime photos during all your summer activities. In terms of shooting indoors, the Xiaomi 12 retains a significant amount of detail and sharpness.

In comparison the 12 Pro is simply a step up and probably better suited for those who love to dabble in phone photography. Equipped with a state-of-the-art triple camera array including a 50MP rear camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP telephoto camera. It includes shooting modes such as auto, pro, video, portrait, night, panoramic, slow motion, vlog and so much more. Xiaomi ProFocus, One-click AI cinema, and more provide you with cinematic capabilities and professional special effects. So, there’s plenty of room to flex your creativity with the 12 Pro whether you fancy yourself a vlogger, director in the making, or simply the certified family gathering photographer.

The Battery Life

Considering their palm sized compactness, you’d think the 12 and 12 Pro were lacking in the battery department but it’s the complete opposite. The 12 has a reasonably sized battery at 4500mAh and the 12 Pro is only slightly larger at 4600mAh so you’re not really missing out on much capacity. Both phones can last through a regular day of normal phone activity, but if you’re a gamer don’t expect them to last the entire day. Xiaomi did a great job of making sure the charging is superfast for users who are a bit more screen time focused such as gamers and vloggers. The 12 can get to 90% within just 30 minutes of charging and the 12 Pro comes with a 120W charger for an even faster charge.

How does the Xiaomi 12 stack up against the Xiaomi Mi 11?

With the release of the 12 and 12 Pro, there is bound to be comparisons to the older version the Mi 11 because the phones look so different on the surface. Consider the 12 series an upgrade and not a complete exit from what you already know and love about the Mi 11. The first immediate difference is the size, as the 12 series is considerably smaller and mainly for those who enjoy a compact looking phone.

The main differences lie in the design of the cameras, performance, and battery life. The Mi 11 came out the gate with a curved camera that was soon copied in the industry. This designed is stripped back in the 12 series as Xiaomi has reverted to a simple rectangle camera. If performance is what you’re looking for then the 12 series is slightly more impressive than the Mi 11. The 12 series is Xiaomi’s first phone to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Chip and will most likely be the standard moving forward.

Now a days battery life is king, and most phone users are looking for a phone that will be able to handle anything from updating social media, on the go business meetings or editing a video. Against the Mi 11 the 12 series definitely delivers on its battery life promise and can handle a whole day of performing. The 12 series comes with a 67W charger which can get you to 100% charge in 39 minutes, whereas the Mi 11 has a 55W plug and achieves the same charge in 39 minutes.

In Summary

When it comes to affordable and high performing phones Xiaomi is an industry leader. So, it is no surprise that the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro do not disappoint. If you love small phones, taking photos that capture every detail and a powerful battery, these phones are for you.

The Xiaomi 12 series is for anyone who loves the look and feel of a smaller phone, photographers that want to capture small details and super-fast charging.

You can buy the Xiaomi 12 and the Xiaomi 12 Pro from Three, online or instore today. But if the 12 Series doesn’t take your fancy, we also stock other Xiaomi phones such as the Xiaomi 11T Pro and the Redmi Note 11 Pro.

S22 displays

The Galaxy S22’s 6.1 inch Full HD+ display has a refresh rate that adapts to match your activity. So, scrolling through your social media doesn’t drain the battery as much. For the S22+, the display’s got 1750nit brightness. Which basically means you can watch in bright sunlight and still see clearly. Then the S22 Ultra takes it one step further, with Galaxy’s brightest display ever – 80% brighter than an OLED TV.

On top of the impressive functions of the displays, there are also loads of different options for your screen. If you go to Settings > Display, you’ll find tons of screen choices like:

Adaptive display. This lets you access 120Hz mode. It’ll use a little more battery, but gives you smoother viewing when you need it.

Dark mode. Everything’s dark mode now, isn’t it? Whether you’re into your dark or light screens, you’ll find this at the top of the display settings.

One-handed mode. Great when you’ve got your hands full or limited space; it shrinks the screen for easier access. Find this under ‘Advanced features’.

Eye comfort shield. It’s good for pre-bed scrolling as it reduces blue light and is less harsh on sleepy eyes.

Display resolution. With three resolution settings to choose from, tap ‘Screen resolution’ and select whichever you need.

Lights, camera, action

The S22 phones are game-changing movie makers, packed with next-level innovations. Their AI-enhanced cameras give you beautifully bright night-time videos and portraits. And, with a 50MP wide camera, wider OIS to keep your shot steady, and Adaptive Pixel technology the Samsung Galaxy S22 Series gives you the most detailed photos on a Galaxy.

But there’s more. These 3 phones have pretty different cameras. If you’re big into your photography and videography, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is the ultimate. But whichever you’ve gone for, we’ve got a tip for you:

8K video mode. For ultra-high-resolution videos, open the Camera app to video mode, and select the aspect ratio icon. You’ll see an option for 8K, which will give you a crystal-clear result.

Night mode. The night photos you can take on all the phones in the S22 Series surpass everything Galaxy’s done in this area before. But switching to night mode even in low light gives you a much better result, too. Just tap the moon icon when your camera’s open.

Shot suggestions mode. This isn’t a new feature to the S22 Series, but it’s still a handy one, with even better pictures than before. You can turn this on in the settings within the Camera app.

108MP mode. This is only on the S22 Ultra, but it’s totally worth it. The Ultra isn’t set to 108MP as a default; you have to select it to get the full resolution. You’ll also find this within the aspect ratio icon.

S22 Safety and security

Samsung have taken their security even further with the Galaxy S22 Series. With a new Secure Folder for your private info, the content that you want to keep for your eyes only is safe. Plus, you can use anti-tracking to stay safe online. And, across the S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra, SmartThings Find helps you remotely track your phone, and block and wipe your data if you lose it. The secure Digital Wallet has had a massive upgrade too.

As well as all this, there are some shortcuts and suggestions – some of which are standard Android, but good to know anyway – which will give you that extra peace of mind:

Call screening. Blocking nuisance calls now only takes a couple of taps, with the Samsung’s caller ID and spam app. Head to Settings > Apps > Default apps > Default caller ID and spam app, and select ‘Phone’.

Change your app permissions. You can have full control over how much data you share with your apps. Go to Settings > Privacy > Permission manager, and you’ll see all your apps listed with all your permission types. You can manage which app uses which permission from here. Even if you’ve done this on a previous Android phone, it’s worth double-checking as the setting may not have carried over.

Set up Secure Lock. This will make sure your phone instantly locks as soon as you hit ‘standby’. Go to Settings > Lock screen > Secure Lock setting.

Smart Lock. This lets you tell your phone which other devices to trust, so you can unlock your phone through those. Like a Smartwatch. Head to Settings > Lock screen > Smart Lock.

Remember, though, all your additional biometric locks etc. are only as strong as your PIN. Make sure your PIN isn’t easy to guess, as biometric and other additional security layers can often be bypassed.

Save your S22 battery

The S22 Series has a vastly improved battery life, which often means you can go all day without charging. Galaxy S22 has a long-lasting 3,700mAh battery. Galaxy S22+ has a mighty 4,500mAh. And the Galaxy S22 Ultra boasts a huge 5,000mAh battery.

But for those extra-long days out, or those times where your phone is constantly in use, it’s always handy to know about these battery-saving tips:

Power saving mode. An old favourite, but a good one, and easy to access from your Quick settings.

Dark mode. It’s likely that having a lot of bright, white light drains your battery faster than darker colours.

Reduce your display brightness. You’ll find this in Settings.
