Tom Arnold likes the Roseanne reboot, even if he doesn't like the real Roseanne's politics.

Probably more than anyone else in the entertainment industry, Tom Arnold has a weird relationship with Roseanne. He was the guy who warmed up the audience before live tapings when the series first started, and he gradually worked his way up to being a writer, producer, and the former husband of Roseanne Barr herself he even wrote himself into the show as “Arnie Thomas.” Naturally, then, The Hollywood Reporter decided to have him review the first episode of ABC’s Roseanne revival.

In his write-up, Arnold acknowledges that it was hard for him to come through on his promise of “objectivity,” but he actually likes the new version of the show a lot more than you’d think. “Once my eyes adjusted a bit, the cold open could be from the ‘90s,” Arnold says, noting that John Goodman and Barr “haven’t skipped a beat” despite the decades since the original series finale. He’s also impressed that the show still does a good job tackling hot-button issues in a relatable way, but his favorite thing about the new show is that “Jackie is in the house.”

Arnold says he’s a huge fan of Laurie Metcalf and apparently considered dating her back in the ‘80s, but Barr told him that it was a “rule of show business” that writers can’t date their actors. He says Metcalf could not only “carry this show” but “every show ever,” and he says he can handle all of the “past pain and humiliation” that the show brings up for him because “Laurie Metcalf walks this earth.”

That all being said, Arnold has some issues with the way Barr’s politics have infected her iconic sitcom character. He notes that Barr used to be a “feminist-pacifist voice for the working folks” who has now become a “far-right Trump-loving troll.” He can understand the plot reasons why the show’s Roseanne Conner would support Trump, but he thinks the real Roseanne—who knows Trump “and saw how he treated women” should know better. “Roseanne Barr made $200 million off Roseanne Conner,” Arnold says, “so I’m a little disappointed she doesn’t have her back.”

The wait is finally over! The first official teaser of "Ang Panday" was released online last night, November 13, on Star Cinema's YouTube channel and Facebook page.

The 36 seconds video introduced the newest "tagapagligtas ng sangkatauhan," played by Primetime King Coco Martin, and his epic ways of saving people from supernatural creatures.

Carlo J. Caparas' "Ang Panday" also marks Coco's first-ever directorial project under his real name Rodel Nacianceno.

It is among the entries at the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival.

Coco Martin plays the grandson of the original Panday whose life will suddenly turn upside down when he realizes that his bloodline is destined to save humanity from the evil doings of Lizardo (Jake Cuenca).

Lizardo, the immortal evil nemesis of Panday comes back from the world of darkness to once again bring havoc to the human race. With Flavio III not knowing that his bloodline is the only one capable of destroying Lizardo, he will have to scour different worlds to be able to gain the trust of the mythical power of the legendary sword.

The Revenger Squad. Gandarrapiddo: The Revenger Squad is an upcoming 2017 Philippine action comedy superhero film directed by Joyce Bernal and starred by Vice Ganda, Daniel Padilla, and Pia Wurtzbach. It will be distributed and produced by Star Cinema and will serve as an official entry to the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival.

The first full trailer of Vice Ganda's entry to this year's Metro Manila Film Festival, "Gandarrappido: The Revenger Squad," a comedy flick about a mishmash group of superheroes out to protect the world, was released on Thursday.

As the clip shows, Vice Ganda plays a gay superhero who lives a normal life away from bashing villains after losing his memory. He was forced to remember his past, however, after a boy he cares for deeply, Chino (Daniel Padilla), a speedster hero, finds himself in danger. The video also introduces Pia Wurtzbach's character.

The movie, directed by Joyce Bernal, will debut on December 25, the same for all of the other entries of the annual film festival.

It is Vice Ganda's follow-up to "The Super Parental Guardians," which holds the title of the highest grossing Filipino film of all time.

Marvel Studios' Avengers: Infinity War Online Released

It’s been a long time coming, but Marvel has finally released the first teaser trailer for its upcoming superhero team-up to end all superhero team-ups, Avengers: Infinity

War. As the clip shows, Infinity War is shaping up to be one of Marvel’s biggest movies ever, uniting the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and almost every other superhero Marvel has ever put on-screen in the 17 prior films over the last decade. All these heroes are banding together to face off against Thanos, the big bad that Marvel has been teasing since the post-credits scene of the first Avengers back in 2012.

Marvel first showed off a teaser all the way back in July at parent company Disney’s D23 Expo, and again at San Diego Comic-Con, but for the vast majority of fans who weren’t in the audiences at those events, the trailer marks the first look at the film.

Infinity War is set to be a major, game-changing film for Marvel so big, in fact, that the story will spill over to a second, still-untitled Avengers movie set for release in 2019.

Along with the trailer, Marvel has also released the first poster for the movie, which doesn’t do much but remind viewers that yes, this is in fact an Avengers movie (although the design is a bit of a stylistic nod to the first teaser posters for the original Avengers and Age of Ultron).

Avengers: Infinity War will be arriving in theaters on May 4th, 2018.

MANILA – Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz’s "Finally Found Someone" is off to a blazing start as it crossed the P100-million mark just after four days since its premiere, Star Cinema announced on Saturday night.

The film began its run on Wednesday, raking in P20 million despite the bad weather due to a tropical storm that affected parts of the country including Metro Manila.

In a previous interview, Geronimo and Cruz said they are very grateful that a lot of people still came out to watch their movie despite the rains.

“Siyempre po we feel blessed. Kahit na bumabagyo, actually worried po ako kasi ang lakas nga ng ulan so mas safety nila 'yung iisipin mo, pero may mga pumupunta pa rin talaga, so thankful kami sa inyo. Maraming, maraming salamat po,” Geronimo said.

Cruz, on the other hand, is happy with the feedback they are receiving so far.

“Iyon lagi ang mystery kapag ipapalabas ang pelikula. Hindi mo talaga alam kung ano ang magiging epekto. Ako, never ako naging confident sa magiging reception ng tao. I can be confident doon sa quality, doon sa ginawa namin na produkto. Pero as to kung paano tatanggapin, iyon ang laging mystery para sa akin,” he said.

Directed by Theodore Boborol, “Finally Found Someone” tells the story of Aprilyn (Geronimo), who found herself heartbroken after being left at the altar. She later on met Cruz’s character, Raffy, who would “help her find her happy ending.”

“Finally Found Someone” is the fourth film of Geronimo and Cruz. Other films featuring the tandem include “It Takes a Man and a Woman” (2013), “You Changed My Life” (2009), and “A Very Special Love” (2008), all of which are box office hits.

Amalanhig is a gratingly noisy

film. Posadas populates his film with all sorts of abhorrent sounds, with every lousy visual meriting a lousier sound effect. The dubbing is atrocious. The acting is terrible. The special effects, cheap. Heck, the titular monster is actually nothing more than a greased up actor wearing a sooty long-sleeved shirt with computer-generated embers following his trail.

It seems that Posadas' idea of horror is to bombard his audience with as much ugliness as possible. With all its haphazardly woven scenes that hardly evoke any semblance of mood or dread, the film only manages to shock by how truly awful it is and how clueless it is about its inescapable awfulness.
This isn't a case of a film so bad, it's good. Amalanhig is just reprehensibly lazy that even its attempts at humor falls flat.

Amalanhig isn't just that it is a shoddily crafted horror flick. It is also brazenly bereft of any real insight.

It struggles to make sense of its horror, wasting the precious lore it borrows from local folklore just to service a ridiculous story of witless students who put themselves in mortal danger all for the sake of a research paper. It also doesn't help that the film's main star, Jerico Estregan, has the charisma of a dried up twig. He is paired with Sanya Lopez, who proves to be as forgettable as the rest of the teens who all end up as fodder.

Posadas, who also wrote the screenplay, posits confused theories about his titular monster, peppering his film with all sorts of useless information, from Catholic imagery to pseudo-science, that amount to nothing.

He only succeeds in making a mess. Amalanhig is just joyless. It offers no real pleasures, just aimless suffering, at least for the duration of its running time.

The film takes place on a train to Busan, as a zombie apocalypse suddenly breaks in the country and compromises the safety of the passengers.

The film premiered in the Midnight Screenings section of the 2016 Cannes Film Festival on 13 May.[ On 7 August, the film set a record as the first Korean film of 2016 to break the audience record of over 10 million theatergoers.The film serves as a reunion for Gong Yoo and Jung Yu-mi, who both starred in the 2011 film The Crucible.

An animated prequel, Seoul Station, also directed by Sang-ho, was released less than a month later.

Seok-woo is a fund manager, workaholic, and divorced single father to his young daughter, Soo-an. For her birthday, she asks him to take her to Busan to see her mother. His work makes him hesitant but his mind is changed when his mother gives him a video of Soo-an's solo recital of "Aloha ʻOe"; his daughter did not complete her performance, knowing he was not present. On the way to the station, they encounter a speeding convoy of fire trucks, ambulances and police cars, and pass by a burning building. They board the KTX in Seoul. Others on the same train include tough, surly working-class husband Sang-hwa and his pregnant wife Sung-kyung; a high school baseball team; rich and selfish COO Yon-suk; elderly sisters In-gil and Jong-gil; and a traumatized homeless man who has witnessed a zombie attack.

However, at the instigation of Yon-suk, the passengers there block the survivors from entering, fearing that they are infected. Unable to fight off a horde of zombies, Sang-hwa sacrifices himself to give the others time to force open the door and enter the car, but In-gil doesn't make it. Yon-suk claims the newcomers are infected, so the other passengers force them to isolate themselves in the forward vestibule, where Jin-hee joins her now boyfriend Yong-guk. As Yon-suk and other passengers seal them in, Jong-gil looks at her zombified sister In-gil.

Angry at Yon-suk's and the other passengers' cowardice and cruelty and unable to accept her fate, Jong-gil opens the door, allowing the horde of zombies to enter and infect all of the surviving passengers in the main compartment of the car.

Seok-woo receives a call from his coworker, who informs him that Busan has fought off the zombies. However, Seok-woo also learns that it was his company that helped fund a project that caused the outbreak. After the phone call, the train suddenly slows to a stop. A blocked track at Dongdaegu Station forces the survivors to stop and search for another train. A runaway train crashes into the infected train, trapping the four remaining survivors. In the process, Seok-woo, Sung-kyung, Soo-an, and the homeless man are separated from Yong-guk and Jin-hee. Yon-suk, who survived with a train attendant by hiding in a bathroom, manages to escape by pushing the attendant into the zombies. Entering the train where Yong-guk and Jin-hee are hiding, Yon-suk throws Jin-hee into the path of a zombie, and she is bitten by a zombie. Heartbroken, Yong-guk stays with Jin-hee and is bitten when she turns.

The locomotive engineer starts a locomotive moving on another track but is killed by zombies (in part by being pushed by Yon-suk) while trying to aid Yon-suk, who boards the locomotive. The homeless man sacrifices himself so that Soo-an and Seong-kyeong can escape with Seok-woo and reach the locomotive. Entering its cab, they encounter an infected Yon-suk, who attacks Seok-Woo, biting his hand before Seok-woo throws him from the vehicle. He puts Soo-an and Seong-kyeong inside the engine room, shows Seong-kyeong how to brake the engine and to not let his daughter see him zombify, says goodbye to his daughter, and goes outside. As he zombifies, he remembers the first time he held his daughter, then throws himself from the locomotive.

Nearing Busan, Soo-an and Seong-kyeong are forced to halt at a blockade and walk through a tunnel. On the other side, soldiers are stationed at a checkpoint to defend the perimeter against zombies. Unable to see Soo-an and Seong-kyeong clearly in dark, the soldiers are instructed by their commander to shoot them both. Just before the trigger can be pulled, the soldiers faintly hear Soo-an tearfully singing "Aloha 'Oe". Realizing they're survivors, the soldiers rush out to accompany them in.

A young man and his four younger siblings, who have kept secret the death of their beloved mother in order to remain together, are plagued by a sinister presence in the sprawling manor in which they live.

Children and big, mystery-stuffed houses are hardly unusual ingredients in thrillers; they're about as common as bumps in the night. But their pairing in Marrowbone, the first feature directed by Sergio G. Sanchez, strikes a familiar and deeply satisfying chord.

Set in 1969 America but filmed in Spain, it from the start recalls several other pictures made in Spain by Spanish or Mexican filmmakers: not just The Orphanage, which Sanchez wrote for director J.A. Bayona, but Alejandro Amenabar's The Others and the Spanish Civil War-set ghost stories of Guillermo del Toro. (Tellingly, Marrowbone's Alvaro Augustin has served as a producer on films by all three of these directors.) No moviegoer who loves more than one of those films should be disappointed by this one, a sumptuous tale of various sorts of haunting set in what should be a seaside Eden.

Scary enough to please most genre buffs, it would also play well in art houses: If you were to go through and remove every hint of ghosts, you'd still have a drama well worth seeing.
Four siblings from England are brought to an unnamed Northeastern American town by their mother, who grew up here. They move into her childhood home and rechristen themselves with her maiden name, Marrowbone, which is also the estate's name. "Our story begins here," she declares, drawing a line in the accumulated dust; but all the talk of fresh starts is clouded by hints of someone back home who very much wants to find them.

The relevance of Sadaat Hasan Manto, and his stories, only seems to increase with each passing year. He wrote of a nation trembling on the cusp of Partition, which was cleaved into two in August 1947, and caused devastation and sorrow on an unimaginable scale.

‘Mantostaan’ is based on four Manto stories, and functions as a quartet, which cuts from one story to the other, the pace increasing as the film progresses. They become one, as the place and time of that mass migration come together in Manto’s searing strokes.

Each segment is harrowing in its own way: a father finds a barely-alive young daughter after being separated for a time; a family refuses to go ‘sarhad paar’ even when as the rioteers come closer and closer; two soldiers, Hindu and Muslim, learn what drawing a line between the two religions can do; and a pair of lovers discover how, in the course of a night, permanent emasculation can occur.

These are stories hard to read because it’s almost impossible to imagine how people who had once lived together in seeming amity could turn upon each other with such viciousness. Read them we must, though, if we want to know how our nations were born: the Partition created the India and Pakistan we live in today.

But the film fails in translation: it is a forced construct, and comes off flat and stagey, both in treatment and performance. It’s only the power of the original material which breaks through once in a while and holds us.

Raghuvir Yadav’s face, as he searches for his lost daughter, crumbling with mounting despair, will stay etched in memory. So will the absolute horror of a moment, in which a phrase triggers an action in a young girl after she is rescued from a gang of aggressors. It breaks your heart.

If done better, this film would have been a fitting testament to our times.

" Luke (Edward Barber) is of course referring to Shine (Maymay Entrata), the dark-skinned and wiry lass he falls in love with in Giselle Andres' Loving in Tandem. The touching words of the Filipino-American who finds himself miserably trapped in one of the many slums of his estranged mother's motherland, however, can also apply to what ABS-CBN thinks of Entrata, the breakout star of the latest iteration of Pinoy Big Brother, the reality show that has evolved to become a star-making vehicle.

Loving in Tandem has no aspirations for far-reaching novelty for its overused genre.

It pulls off all the genre's familiar tricks and tropes. It also doesn't avoid a lot of the rom-com's many pitfalls, starting with a clear chauvinist slant with Shine's questionably desperate efforts to please Luke, who is initially characterized as offputtingly privileged and heartless. It doesn't seem to mind the antiquated worldviews it espouses, relying heavily on comedy to render all the questionable scenes somewhat palatable.

Loving in Tandem could have been an obnoxious mess but thankfully, it's not.

Amid all the problems it doesn't avoid, it ends up surprisingly charming thanks mostly to Entrata who turns out quite an endearing actress. She could have easily gone the route traversed by Ai-Ai de las Alas, Pokwang and Eugene Domingo, actresses with non-mainstream beauty whose onscreen romances with their male leads always had them enunciate the glaring and supposedly humorous gap in looks. She, however, churns out a more dignified performance, one that is grounded not in discrepancy but on very relatetable appeal.

Three years after their hit film Starting Over Again, Toni Gonzaga and Piolo Pascual are set to reunite with a movie that will soon be in the works. In an interview with ABS-CBN, Toni said that she did not expect that she and Piolo would work on another film so soon.

"I was supposed to do a different movie and then all of a sudden, everything fell accordingly. Nangyari lahat, yung mga schedule namin (Everything happened, our schedules), the script is so beautiful, it’s something that I wouldn’t want to miss,” said Toni.

No further details about the movie have been released, but Toni said that movie is very different from Starting Over Again, which is a romantic comedy. The movie will be directed by Joyce Bernal, who recently did the Vice Ganda-Coco Martin movie The Super Parental Guardians.

“Sobrang iba. Actually hindi mo siya puwedeng paglapitin. Magkaibang genre. Hindi ko siya mae-elaborate lahat pero I’ve never been this excited to go back to doing movies nung nabasa ko yung script,” she said.

Bes and the Beshies Online Released full movie. Ai-Ai delas Alas returns to the movies in a new comedy film together with Zsa Zsa Padilla, Carmi Martin, and Beauty Gonzalez.

Titled Bes and the Beshies, the movie tells the story of 4 friends and the different struggles they face in their relationships. During the press conference for her upcoming movie, Ai-Ai revealed that her character, being a single mom, hits a little too close to home.

In Bes and the Beshies, Ai-Ai plays Charla, a single mom who's taken on several odd jobs to support her family.

It's very hard being a single parent because the time you want to give your child when they need you, like when there's PTA, sometimes you can't go because you have work. So it's very sad because sometimes they're on their own or the grandmother would go if even you want to be there for them

But for me, I see to it that I give the time for that, especially when I'm needed in school. I will really ask for permission.

Written by Ricky Lee and directed by Joel Lamangan, Ai-Ai promised fans that Bes and Beshies wouldn't be your typical slapstick comedy with the overused cliché plot. She's also proud to be doing another movie with strong female characters as leads, after Jose Javier Reyes's Pinay Pie in 2003.

Exciting events are set to happen in the upcoming "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 episode 14 as beloved characters are faced with several changes, as well as the consequences of their decisions. Latest spoiler news teased of Alex's (Justin Chambers) return to the hospital after being cleared from a legal case, while Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Bailey (Chandra Wilson) will have a tense discussion about executive decisions.

Avid viewers of the ABC medical series were shocked when Bailey suspended Meredith and gave the said surgeon's job to April (Sarah Drew). Featured in "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 episode 12, Meredith's move to ban Eliza (Marika Dominczyk) from her operating room resulted in Bailey's decision to suspend her friend for an indefinite period.

However, in the upcoming "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 episode 14, Meredith's suspension from Grey Sloan hospital might come to an end. A teaser clip posted on Spoilers Guide featured Bailey's surprise visit at Meredith's home where she tried to discuss the said doctor's career options.

The two women's discussion will also tackle Bailey's decisions that included replacing Richard (James Pickens Jr.) with Eliza as the head of the hospital's residency program. With Meredith highlighting how it was the wrong move, Bailey appears unaffected with her friend's explanation and cited the difference between stubbornness and loyalty.

Despite the two doctors' tense meeting, Bailey will be pressured by her mentor Richard to bring Meredith back to Grey Sloan. The former residency program chief will also try to convince the suspended doctor to fight back and regain her rightful place at the hospital.

Meanwhile, the said episode will also feature Alex trying to adjust to the many changes at Grey Sloan. Eliza and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) will also start to bond although Arizona will still try to put some distance between her and her new friend.

The development of the said two characters' relationship will be slow given the various professional challenges that Eliza will face at Grey Sloan. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Dominczyk commented on how the new residency program head will have to deal with a "crazy uphill battle" at the hospital.

UNLUCKY PLAZA - UNLUCKY PLAZA - Epy Quizon Online Released Now 2016. Online Released Now 2016. UNLUCKY PLAZA If we’re talking about the talent of Epy Quizon, we’ll probably bore you with how good he is in the movie. But Unlucky Plaza is more than that, more, that it actually feels long and tedious at times.

The story, while best not to deviate from it because it is based on real events, is hard to be engaged at. Mainly because it has no focus and that most of its sequences are too long. But when the film goes raw, you’ll find something amazing in it, especially with Quizon’s performance, everything just goes thrilling. But the way the film built its climax is kind of messy that some of it are just unnecessary.

The film has enough surprises, family drama, the infamous situations in Filipino television dramas which is hostage taking and infidelity to interest the audience leading to its crazy climax. If not for its talented cast, the film wouldn’t be as fun as it would be. It’s far from being an outstanding film but the story and actors are worth the look.

Synopsis: UNLUCKY PLAZA

In multicultural and cosmopolitan Singapore, Onassis (Epy Quizon), a Filipino single father, is struggling with a failing business, rising rents and a bureaucratic civil service. Just when things start to look up, he is cheated of all his savings. One dog day afternoon, he decides he has had enough. In a matter of hours, the lives of a materialistic motivational speaker, his adulterous wife, her tent-making spiritual shepherd and a mainland Chinese gangster will forever change.
