Yes, I did promise downloads... And I know this isn't something new - me posting my own work - but the page that hosts the material. It still needs to be updated, however, a few songs from The Write Bros' (O'be & I) mixtape - The Air Show - have been uploaded. The picture alongside this entry is the official Air Show Mixtape cover. We will continuously upload more tracks until the whole mixtape is up. For now, HAPPY 70TH BIRTHDAY TO JOHN LENNON! and, hello to The Write Bros:

I'm Sorry!

2010-09-24T21:47:00.003+02:00

“It’s been a long time, I shouldn’t have left you…” spoken in the witty words of Rakim.

I don’t think I need to explain myself this time around. Okay, maybe a little… But you KNOW where I’ve been, well, for the most part. If you don’t, “stop being ignant man”! Actually, even the most ignorant people couldn’t have turned a blind eye to this.

2010 FIFA WORLD CUP! FIRST EVER WORLD CUP HOSTED IN AFRICA, SOUTH AFRICA that is.

I wish I could have provided every detail of every game. Every tackle, every skillful move, every sharp play, every swift maneuver in anguish to escape hard D (efense), and every defensive display showcased to prevent that dodgy “Jabulani” from cradling in the net. However, this is something had to experience firsthand…or…in a living room, behind a TV, like me. Who were the World Cup Winners? Spain. Their first ever World Cup win might I add. In my failed effort to provide you with every detail, I will make up for it by other means of course. Am I just not the greatest? :-)

Moving right along…

We do have new additions to the blog. Some things that I have thought about and feel I should try my luck at:

1. Review Of The Month – Either two albums, two movies or maybe one of each.
2. Whiz – A question, quiz, brainteaser or just something to think on. We do need to keep active minds after all, and
3. Downloads – Yes, I know, these already exist but, I’m talking on a broader platform. This will not be so regular, neither will it be illegal (to my knowledge at least). This might come as software, games, videos, music OR a LINK to a website that I might not trust.

Till then, goodnight my fellow readers. I do forward sincere apologies, once again.

I want you to sketch our hearts,

And keep it in your books of art, I think we're that complex.

And, picture two hands, mine and yours,

And, tear away any pages that would settle divorce.

Paint our future, colour it right...

At this moment you are the finest art in my life,

"20th Anniversary of the Hubble Telescope by NASA" & Mr "Yours Truly" is back in AKshun! LoL.

2010-04-24T12:13:00.004+02:00

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the Hubble Telescope launch by NASA. The Hubble Telescope is a telescope that orbits our planet, Earth. Due to its positioning, it is able to distort and block the light that reaches our planet, giving it the view of the universe - which surpasses that of ground-based telescopes. I present to you, the HubbleSite:

Well, Mr "Yours Truly", will be back soon. I'm still in the process of making music.

It's the end of Easter... But who says I still can't do a post on it? Besides, I did much research on it and feel that maybe it should be shared. Have you ever wondered what all the celebrations were about? Well, take a look at the link I put up and if that's not enough, don't be a lazy fart - do some research yourself.

As you have probably noticed, I have only updated OUR blog once in a while (in recent times) - this is due to my relocation. I sincerely apologize if you're disappointed. What I would suggest is that you check out the news on my side tab (daily - if you so please), to the right of your screen.

I will continue to post up "Words of Wisdom" as often as possible if my brain allows. And as soon as I figure out a way of connecting more often, OUR blog will run as smooth as we started off.

Now, back to your regular programming.

Hello, Hi!!!

2010-01-15T20:33:00.005+02:00

It's been a while, almost a whole month... Well, I've had my days and issues but we all have - and in these times, remember to make the choice to be and stay happy.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! (And a Merry belated Christmas to all those who celebrate such festivity - God is good)

Congratulations to all (South African) matriculants who have made it into their chosen courses, and to those who didn't make it, education is (a) key... So key that you should learn from this experience and let it make you a stronger person. It is not the end of the road, but an experience.

Ideas!!!

I recently discovered something cool that has been a problem for many, including myself...

"The idea of liking someone"

See, this is a simple concept. What might be the problem for many people who "tend to like" a lot of people (of the opposite sex) at the same time is that... They actually fall in love with the idea of liking a person and their minds begin to believe that they actually do like the person - which in many cases misleads us into unwanted relationships. So in future, avoid such.

Just food for thought.

Resolutions??? Create positive change (pun intended - actually adding some 'change' to my pockets).

"This Is A Global Warning!" [Reconcile with nature]

2009-12-17T18:33:00.004+02:00

Yesterday South Africans celebrated a day of reconciliation. Who or what each soul reconciled with is a mystery to me, but, Oxfam & I are asking you to reconcile with nature. Show her you care.

Oxfam are doing their bit by promoting awareness through a very dope musical piece. Which can be downloaded right here:

http://sites.google.com/site/climatechangeproject2009/home/downloads

While you're at it, check out the rest of the site - fresh. Maya (in the 2nd picture), who was my better half on the song Lovers In A Music Room, graces the song with her strong poetic presence.

And me? What am I doing to reconcile with nature? I'm sending this message out to you! Be conscious of what is happening around you and act on what's not healthy.

For more Oxfam, join their Facebook page and do your part in reconciling with nature:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/manage/#/pages/aintgotnothin/205874760534?ref=ts

And I'm not just talking to South Africans, YOU TOO!!!

I'm Back...

2009-12-09T20:38:00.003+02:00

It's been weeks, I know, I apologize...

I thought I'd raise my St Alban's College flag high for a while... and while I did that, I did Vac, brew!

I've just enjoyed the craziest 9 days of my life with a whole bunch of other fruitful matrics, down at Umhlanga, on Matric rage - or as we casually call it, Vac brew! (jock accent)

And this is the part where I'm supposed to fill y'all in but, "Whatever happens [on vac brew!] stays [on vac brew!]"

I leave you in the hands of the DJ himself, Smokes:

St Alban's College!

2009-11-25T08:56:00.003+02:00

http://www.mediafire.com/?ezdirnwjmgt

My form of patriotism! South Africa - I could stand for my country but I don't think I could stand for it like I stand for my school.

I rejoice for 5 years of growth, but at the same time I put on a sad face so as to display exactly how I feel about this school. Like our head boy said this year, it's not the buildings but the people... You could take away the buildings, the soil, the fields.....blah, blah, blah..... (you get my point) AND it will still keep it's essence.

I won't go on about this any longer. What I can hope for now is that it keeps on like this and that, hopefully, this song is the closest thing to summing up what we have here. Enjoy it! I know you will. Recorded, Mixed and Produced by Alec Brits and myself (Prof. X). Once again, enjoy it:

3 A.M and..... Melvin van Os (Don't Sleep on Him)

2009-11-21T07:58:00.006+02:00

Yeah, I've been up since 3 am. Ask me why. I just happen to wake up in the middle of my sleep and everytime it happens, it's around 2 or 3 am. Damn Biological alarm clock!

Anyways, it's been a couple of days, a bit miserable - I officially finished school on Wednesday, with a not-so-hard Chemistry paper. I AM DONE WITH HIGHSCHOOL... Goodbye St Alban's College! Will miss you though... And while I'm on this topic, I'll be posting up a tribute song we (a band), did for our school, specifically our matric group.

ANYWAYS... Lol... Melvin van Os... Do not dare sleep on this musical gift. I've been in studio with him before, still have more work to do with him and it will be dope, I guarantee it. Will post it up when it's done. For now, here's a cover track he did a while back. John Legend's "Used To Love You":

NIA (Natives In Action)

2009-11-17T09:40:00.007+02:00

Introduction? Well, why not...

"NIA(Natives In Action) is a coming together of mc's, graffiti artist, dj's, producers, animation and musicians to express the movement of Hip-Hop in SA founding city Cape Town!!! Kapi-Ton, TMO, Cue-Dubz, Supreme1, Loyd, T4..."

That's the description on their Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/posted.php?id=73610722207#/pages/NIA/73610722207).

Kapi-Ton (the dude with his own solo photo) being my mentor, I had to push their movement. Plus their music is fresh. He (Kapi-Ton) used to go by the name Spoken Word so don't e surprised if I refer to him as that and not Kapi-Ton.

Now, as I always do... Some music. I have not yet asked for their permission to do so, but their music is free therefore I don't think they'll mind. And if they do mind, I'll remove the joints.

I'm no scientist, we all know that. But, I have a disgusting love, which eeks me, for systems, how "stuff" works and the potential of discovery. It's quite filling to know what surrounds you and how it exists.

However, I will not speak on topics with such vast volumes of information, I'll just point you to who we deem as experts of this nature: NASA! HAHA (Evil genius laugh)!...
