Small Room. Big World

Everything happened so fast. I was losing myself to final fantasy online and then I am in a small room in Bundoora sitting, studying, struggling and contemplating about my future.

I've been asked by many students and instructors questions about why I am studying or what my future plans are after the masters.

Sometimes I say for self development

other times I say for professional development... like they are different.

But actually, I don't know what my future plans are.

Although sometimes professional development seems a logical reason

but I am not sure if studying can improve me in my career.

Like Studying and work!

It has been proved that they are different

Like apple and orange.

Very different

The idea of studying is clear but the goal is vague... at least for now.

I don't wanna think too much about it though

Anyway, I am not studying my main course though. I am in an English course for ten week.

Five weeks is left.

Even though I am very good in English,

I am kinda struggling

that because the course is not about speaking English or just writing in English.

It is about reading and writing literature, literature reviews,

searching and researching academic articles and researches.

And it is my first time searching for books, article and researches in the library,

some of which are very technical and very hard to read or understand.

The academic English is very different than the "regular" English we use everyday

and they say many students, who are very good in English, may fail.

I am doing great though and I am enjoying.

I am just gonna wing it.

Though the hard time I'm facing in studying is nothing compared to being alone.

I am alone in Bundoora.

I hate being alone.

I miss a good company.

maybe a family.

and of course girls :p

I couldn't find a homestay so I went for student accommodation.

Many students there

However, I couldn't blend in.

I don't know.

Maybe that's why I didn't go outdoor a lot in Gold Coast

which is weird.

I used to walk at every street in Gold Coast but now I feel tired.

I'm having fun by just staying with my friends.

But...

But..

I can't stay away from Gold Coast night life

I will shake my ground a little in any night club :p

In Melbourne if not in Gold Coast

Side Note:

I am funding myself which means I am paying myself "Mr. obvious"

My further studies application has not been accepted in my work place yet I am studying

Which means financial problems are imminent

Not for now cause my salary is still flowing

but definitely by next year if my application didn't pass through

In a rich country, that is absurd

But they have their rules and regulations for such applications

And I have the right to study anyway

It might be a stunt

or sorta gambling .

But I am doing it anyway

I wanna see how far I can go with this!

وهو يعمل سائق بكل اجتهاد

بمناسبة غير مرافق مريض

Hi ppl of blue planet earth,
I'm writing this to you as I am breathing freedom right from the land of freedom.
Though it pains me a little that I had to enjoy this while my brother is having his health issues treated in here.
But you know ... Overall... I'm enjoying this
It's like sour and sweet
And it isn't like I've never been through situation similar to this

Anyways,
My bro Faisal is having kidney issues since the day he got into this world. His right kidney is working 8% now which is considered not functional and the other one is sore but can do the job. He've been through many surgeries in Kuwait and the doctors said he can live with these kidneys and he'll be fine with them though in that time his right kidney was working 20% with growth injection when he was infant.

Starting this year, he just keeps getting fever and back pain every 3 weeks or so . The doctors in Kuwait did just fine collecting data about his kidney issues but his health keeps deteriorating so he applied for US hospitalization.

Tonight he'll be having a surgery to remove the right kidney. It's small and non functional besides it's causing him reflexes of urine and infection in it . plus, the reflexes of urine back into his body results in infection reaching the good sore kidney so they'll have to work on that too but this is for later

Long story short, he'll be having a surgery for small right kidney removal and inshalla it will succeed.

Sigh, this was not the plan as I'm supposed to write something about myself
But why not write something about my brother and the situation am in.
Besides, family is part of myself... That no doubt for a 28 years old guy who got born and raised with his family for 28 years

BTW am in Minnesota state, Minneapolis city. Any one, preferably a girl, there who'd like to say hi let me know 😝

New Year's Resolution 2014 + Reviewing My 2013

Hi ppl of blue planed Earth,
I know.. I know that my activities in social network dropped to its lowest levels recently
That because I was very very very busy lately
And that brings me to an interesting thought
I'm starting to believe that at the end of every year, something "life changing" happens
That was the pattern over the past three or four years
The year starts boring then interesting (mid year) then mind blowing at the end of the year
This year is no different. Except it was mind blowing for good

Firstly, let me review my last year's resolutions which are:

Change of a career --> Fail
Continue to take care of my brothers and beat manners into them --> Success... and it will always be :D
Travel to USA --> Fail... I didn't get the Visa and it's still under processing since October 2012. I have traveled to Australia instead :D
Buy a new mobile phone --> Success... I have my shiny new Google LG Nexus 5 and I happen to love it :D

That sums up my last year's resolution. Well the main task was "Change of a career" and I failed in that

It sounds as simple as "I'll change my job"

but it doesn't

Actually I needed "Wasta" LOOOOL
Well I feel relatively bad about that I couldn't get a new career

But I'm very happy!
I passed the CCNA Exam and I'm a Certified Cisco Network Associate
I know that it's nothing compared to my peers who may got the PHD level of networking
And I know that I will not work on Cisco Networks at my work place cause all I do is paperwork
But it means a lot to me
It gave me a big boost towards carrying through self development and having more knowledge
And more importantly, it gives me a sense of achievement in my kinda boring life

Though I have new resolutions... new goals for 2014. Which are:

Study more. Maybe I'll study CCNP, the professional level of Cisco Networks
Apply for a Master Degree Program overseas

Well That's all.
I make it sounds easy LOL
Well... I'm looking forward to challenges, successes and failures

Before ending the post I'd like to say something to those who are "giving up everything although there's a chance to correct things":
You'll fail
You'll get Emo
You'll feel bad
really really bad
You'll feel the world is so heavy on your shoulders
and it is
But don't give up everything when you still have chance
Maybe "the chance you didn't take" is the one that would've fixed all things up and put you on the right track
Consume all your chances
Don't just give up

Chat at Work - 2 - Freedom is about parties and Hentai

The chat continues. One topic led to another and we were talking about relationships

I said something like:

Why are we forced to live most of our life under the control of our parents?

Like they decide:

Where should I stay?

When can I go outdoor?

Sometimes... what should I study?

Whom should I marry?

Well I can understand such control till I reach the age of 20

After 20 it doesn't make sense

I imagine a place where every 20 and above "human" can decide where to stay, what to study, whom to love and all. I bet it will be better than familial, tribal control.
I mean better than a community system that suggests long term control of their youths's way of life and behavior.

Usually, western countries allow their young ppl to have the freedom to live their own life at a certain age. When I look at these countries I see that young ppl there are:

Much better in the personal level

More passionate

More self reliant

More confident

Maybe that's why I see Kuwaitis who studied at western universities are the best when it comes to soft skills and decision making

I can see the "?!" on the heads of my friends
One freind, a girl with the name "Afrah", said "Waleed... You're seeing things with your own eyes. Others see something different on their own eyes"!
She said that those countries with such way of life have good education. That's why they tend to have good and responsible people.
And that if Kuwait is granted such life, it will be chaos. Boys will make parties everywhere. It just doesn't suit our society.

Well I got the hidden message in what Afrah said
She said "Education" huh
We can always improve our educational system

The hidden message in all what she said is something like "The age of consent"
Giving youth the freedom to seek the life they want --> parties --> coitus --> chaos
Why does it have to be about coitus?

That reminds me of the "super ultra ultimate limited edition questions" that guys used to toss on every discussion table.
Do you accept that for your sister?
Do you allow your daughter to do that?

If you're asked such questions, what would be your answer?
I used to do the "face palm"
Because it would take me a lot of time going through finding logic & brain farting to find the answer :D
Some people can go as far to say something like "Do you allow your sister go to parties and dance if there is a night club in Failaka?"
Straight to my face
Sigh... I really like those people

The answer is -after going through finding logic & brain farting-:
First of all, my father is still living and kicking. He's the one responsible to allow her to go parties or not. But if you ask me "Do you allow your daughter to go to parties?" I would say it depends because you know there are "good parties" and "bad parties".
"birthday parties" are good parties while "striping parties" are bad parties
But if you insist on giving answer I would say "No"
Why? cause I live defensively. I have to protect the ones I love. I can't let my daughter just wander around a cruel world where everyone looking for raw meat
But at the same time I believe that there is a community, within our society, that allow their beloved young boys and girls to live independent life and protect them at the same time

But as I said, I get too confused to answer these question LOL
You know the pressure, tension and all
Some times I don't even "face palm"
Why do I "face palm"?
I know how brain works in most of the people of this society
I know what are they afraid of
I know what's in their "end of the tunnel"... It's coitus

I was talking about the right of being "independent" but friends keep bringing coitus and link it to "freedom"
That makes me wonder "Are they really listening to me?"

Some how, Afrah changed the subject

She was talking about some weird guys. Two guys to be specific
The first guy I should call him "The scientifically honest" guy
That guy said to his old single sister "I know that you have your needs like eating and drinking. I bet you need sex since you're not married. If you need to have sex, don't worry.
Just let me know and I'll arrange that"
And he does arrange that
-- well, sex isn't basically "a need" for human. That is scientifically proven.
Because we will die if we don't eat or drink but on the other hand we won't die if we don't have sex.
Though I can approve that one would die "inside" from lack of sex LOL --

The other guy is "the Hentai" guy
She said that he told her that he does "wife swap". It's like he make a deal with other couples to do the "wife swap" and they practice it at chalets
So if they were two couples, they book for two chalets
and if they were three couples, they would book three chalets
-- first of all, the chalets part falls under "too much information" milady.
Second, wife swap!... that's gross.
Third, "SAY WHAT... THERE ARE WIFE SWAPPIES IN TOWN!" --

Everybody was in shock from the "wife swap" story. It's when another friend, a guy, interfered to add his story.
-- I should tell you that this friend is an athletic guy. He plays Judo and regularly builds his body in gym. Long story short, he's a handsome black guy with big muscles and six packs that make most of the girls drool -Now that you call "too much info"--
Anyways, He said he met a guy. That guy is a "friend of his friend".
So they became friends, exchanged phone numbers, hangout together and all.
One day that friend told him something like:
" I want you to be a friend who's always with me. You can stay at my family's home whenever you like. You can even hangout with my sisters, like you're one of the family.
And I want you to be with me, hangout together and do shopping together. You choose clothes for me. I can buy you gifts"
-- It turned out that man is gay and that the man is offering something like "Gay marriage" --
As soon as he finished telling his story, Afrah said:
"This is the freedom that Waleed wants"

I can swear that it took me like one tenth of millisecond to react:
"NONONONONONO"
FREEDOM ISN'T ABOUT WIFE SWAPPIES
And linking freedom to all those stories is not fair
This time, I had to "face palm"

One friend, a girl, talked about how people are dressed these days. She was complaining rather than talking I must say. It was about:
Girls with little to zero hair on one side of their head leaving the other side with long hair
guys wearing low waist jeans with underwear shines out for public to see
Girls showing their sexy curves
Guys showing their extraordinary muscles
Weird mustache
chest hair
among many other things

She says
What's with those people?
How they wear something like that?
It's 3aib "Aiyb"
People shouldn't be allowed to wear that
Guys should be forced to join military to be real men instead of wearing low waist jeans and do weird haircuts

I was in total disagreement with her as I see that everyone should have the freedom to dress as they like.
Most of my friends disagree with me if not all of them though, which I find weird. I thought that they would agree with me but that didn't happen

"You know what's the story behind low waist jeans" one friend, a guy, said
I said "It has some story and I don't wanna talk about it".
I could see it in the eyes of the girls... Yes curiosity it is LOL
It's something about the color of the boxer that shows the "sexual status" of prisoners. It was used as a signal that says "I'm horny and I'm available".
Anyways I told my friend that I know. And I know the story behind punk and the story behind emos as well but I believe that:
Everyone should wear what they want
Everyone can cut their hair the way they like
Everyone should have the freedom to express their own style
UNLESS THEY'RE NAKED... AND THEY AINT

I myself don't like turban. Hate it I should say. I hate silky floral pants too. But I don't go as far to say that women shouldn't be allowed to wear turban
or "Floral pants are not allowed at work place"
or even despise the people who take turban or whatever as their style

-BTW I don't like guys showing their chest hair cause I don't know what does "showing chest hair" supposed to mean. Plus, I don't have chest hair-

And come on guys we travel overseas walking beside nearly naked people and have no problem with that. So why is it when we come back to our home we start complaining about citizens wearing this and that.

Friends keep listing reasons that I see unreasonable

"It isn't beautiful. They shouldn't wear it"
I, myself, have my own standard of beauty. I keep it for myself though. I don't force anyone to follow my "beauty standards" nor do I try to despise non-followers

"Some times I don't blame guys for harassing a girl wearing this"
What is that bullshit?
Then tell me what is the minimum requirements of clothing that would make a girl safe from harassment?
Let me say something to you. I saw guys despise and neglect "tight jeans" girls for "black Abaya and burqa". Following them... flirting with them... and trying to harras them
Harassment will not stop
Unless women wear a big wide black sack that shows nothing... absolutely nothing. Not even eyes. And that is arguable too

"Religion doesn't allow that"
Don't get me started. If you say religion then I would assume you mean the religion that states women are allowed to show face and hands only. Streets filled with women all in black would make our religion.
You got told that this is our religion mate
but in fact... it isn't
Go read history books about Muslim's social life throughout the history of Islam and you'll know what I mean.

Flight crew didn't mention anything about dress code to the passengers coming to Kuwait
Because there isn't any

One of those moments... Staring at nothing... far beyond

It's one of those moments where I wanna stare
I don't wanna stare at something in particular
I just feel the urge to stare

I try to know why I insist on staring
I start to list the things that are not reasons for my sudden urge to stare rather than listing the reasons themselves
How odd?

So I say
It isn't about getting concerned about how my brothers gonna succeed in their life in the future
It isn't about how that "relatively" big amount of money I have isn't enough to to fulfill my dreams
It isn't about rethinking my life
It isn't about how wrong/right the path I took in my life
It isn't about whether my personality fits the age of 2000s... or should I shape it to fit so
It isn't about doing something else to be like anyone else... instead of doing my thing and be nothing
It isn't about the thought of "I'm the right man in the wrong world"
It isn't about why the world still has poverty while we are manufacturing artificially processed chocolate and milk pills called smarties
It isn't about how people are suffering to get their "own way of freedom" rather than "freedom"
It isn't about how people kill each other in the name of religion

The thing is... I just wanna stare
So I get myself looking at my computer monitor while actually staring at something very very far away
Looking at the monitor is a good way to cover the staring action though

Part of me says I had to stop it
But I can't help it
the other part says just keep this staring at nothing far beyond up

Must see in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Gold Coast

Hi ppl of blue planet earth,
Now that am back to Kuwait with all my adventures in Australia.
Back to work
Back to the congested streets
and most importantly, back to the family

I visited Melbourne, Sydney "back and forth to Wollongong", Brisbane and Gold Coast. So I want to write about must see places and places to go in this post.

So let's start.

Melbourne:
I already wrote a post about Melbourne though it's not a problem to write about it again and "copy paste" from it :)

Anyways, Melbourne is a lovely city. I would say it looks "more beautiful" than Sydney. The streets looks better than those in Sydney. Tramways gives the city some sort of personality. Something between old and modern.

Places to go in Melbourne:
- Walk next to the Yarra river and watch the flares of the crown casino at weekend nights
- Visit the Melbourne Exhibition Center
- Wander around walking the footpath and check the restaurants and stores. For girls, Melbourne is full of small boutiques for you to go bankrupt
- Check theaters for events. You might find a nice show
- Tour to the "Great Ocean Road"which I recommend it. It's a very must book tour
-Tour to the Phillip island. I didn't go there. It's about getting close to the Aussie wildlife there and see the coastline and watching Penguins parade. I don't know why but I recommend that tour for couples
- Shopping at the DFO "Direct Factory Outlet"

Sydney:
The crazy expensive city. Where to go in Sydney?
- Sydney Tower... emm it's like Kuwait Towers though there you'll see the gorgeous Sydney from above
- Taking photos at the Opera house maybe you wanna book for some interesting shows held there
- Wander around Sydney harbour and Darling harbour maybe having dinner and launch there
- Taronga Zoo. You have to go there early morning otherwise you'll miss there shows
- hop on the ferry to Manly. Great Beach out there if you go there in "their" summer"
- Bondai beach is another beach to consider
- Visit the Blue Mountains. You don't have to book a tour for that. Just use the rail ways to a town called Katoomba then hop on the Bus to the Blue Mountains where you can enjoy the rainforest and the waterfalls
- Visit the royal Botanic garden and see trees and plants around the world there

Wollongong:
It's just a small city that's known for their college "UOW" University of Wollongong. I'm socially attached to this city. Most of my friends study there. It doesn't mean you don't want to be there. The places you can go:
- Shopping at the "Crown Street Mall"
- There's a botanical garden next to the college
- Walk along the beach to the Wollongong lighthouse
ummm maybe that's all about Wollongong

Brisbane:
ummm... I didn't like that city that much. In my "5 days" experience there's nothing much to discover and the ppl there are Anti-social though. I don't say don't go there. I would recommend some places and some activities
- Walk along Brisbane river
- Shopping at the "queen street mall". I call it the "in the fresh air" Grand Avenues
- Visit South Bank and enjoy the gorgeous footpaths and restaurants there
eh... maybe that's all about Brisbane and I think Brisbane visitors are all end up going back and forth to South bank only. One Australian guy told me not to go the west Brisbane because there are racist aboriginal/Aussie there.

Gold Coast:
This place is where the all fun happens. The list of fun things can go on and on. The best city in Australia an it's all for all. For the guys, girls, single, married, couples, family...
So let's start:
- Going to the theme parks. You have movie world, dream world, wet and wild, sea world, wax museum among many others
- Believe it or not odditorium. A themed gallery with statues of unusual ppl around the world. Walk through the tunnel of illusion. Spoiler: there's a dance spot before the exit :p
- A place called Infinity. It's like an out of this world maze where you will encounter futuristic halls with lights and mirrors and you'll have to find the doors. tip: it's a great place to dance while wandering around :p
- Dracula Haunted House. It's the same as infinity though it isn't a maze. You just walk through a creepy Dracula themed halls and it's fun
- Dracula Carpet Restaurant. You like having dinner while watching to creepy funny shows with some stand up comedy then this place is yours. I loved their shows more than their food. I laughed my stomach out there. It's a must visit place. tip: Go for the VIP offer. It isn't that expensive for better seats and viewing angle
- Glow worms evening tour with observatory. It's a best selling tour and I enjoyed it twice
- Shopping at the malls. Pacific fair, Oasis mall,Australia fair, Surfers paradise mall. And you can take the bus to a little far city called Robina. there's a mall called Robina Town Center. Though the best place to go shopping is Harbour Town Shopping Center. It's full of outlets so you'll see the lowest price tags there. huh... one can't have enough shopping overseas
- I don't have to mention the Beach part again and again. You don't run out of Beach in Australia. It's a big continent surrounded by Beach anyways
and the list goes on and on for Gold Coast. I'm sure you'll discover more if you go there and go bankrupt :)

Hi ppl of blue planet earth,
Everybody know from twitter than I'm in Australia now. So, my US visa "is still under process... duh" and I really wanted to have a holiday. Staying in Kuwait more than a year without traveling overseas isn't a healthy thing considering the shitty political and social environment.
Though I never thought I will choose travel to Australia again but it happened and I think I made the right choice. I don't wanna travel to stay in a hotel getting myself worm in cold snowy Europe. I don't want to travel to any of Arab lands either. So there was Australia :)

I started in Melbourne. A nice big big city that you don't have many things to do. I stayed 9 days there and I can say five to seven days is more than enough for it. Unless you have a wife you can stay for 9 days like and maybe you'll go bankrupt. It's because Melbourne the city is full of fashion, jewelery, boutique among other shops that women adore.

For those who are planning to stay in Melbourne here are some suggestions of places to visit and activities to do:
- Melbourne Aquarium
- Tour to Philip Island
- Tour to the Great Ocean Road
- Walk along the Yarra River and See the flares of "Crown Casino" on the weekends and may be enjoying bars :p
- Wander the city streets and lanes. There are nice shops and restaurants around
- Check if there is any event in Theater. I went to the "Her Majesty's theater" for "chitty chitty bang bang" play and it was woow

Anyways, now am in Wollongong. I'll stay here going back and forth to the crazy city "Sydney" for ten days maybe

New year's resolution for 2013 + Lil update about me

Hi ppl of planet earth,
Long time no blogging and what to blame?
Blame that little big game called Persona 3 portable on my Playstation vita
I started playing this game long time ago. I ain't exaggerating if I say one year ago. I wanted to finish it but I didn't have the time. So, a month ago, I decided to finish it... But how?
Stop gym
Stop Diwaniya
Stop blogging :-P
Play at home
Play at jakhoor
And in the car

Now that I finished the game and I say YATTAAAA
So if you ask me why all this... I would say because I am a nerd... Bwahahahahah

Anyway, the game has a very attractive characters. Each character has its own goal to achieve that keep them to fight the darkness. In the middle of the action some will die and they will lose hope. Then each character begins asking self questions like
why are we fighting the darkness?
Why we want to live?
Why are we exist... in this world?
Among other questions
So they will discover that the bond between ppl is the thing that makes us want to live... and that Bla bla bla
Actually I like such games... Games that are filled with philosophy
It isn't just wasting time

Anyways
I'll start with a Lil update about me
So...
Life is going very fine with me in 2012.

It started smooth.

No Action

No drama

Ended a little rough though.
Umm not rough like am sick or lost or anything that gets someone emotional :-D
It's like things didn't go according to the plan and what makes it frustrating is that I don't have plan B... Loool

I planned to travel to USA for Christmas and celebrate the New Year but it didn't happen because of the big delay of my US Visa approval. It's been more than three months. Still didn't get approved though. Plus, out of a sudden, I decided to apply for a new job. It isn't that I have low salary in my current job. It's because I ain't doing anything in my current job. I wanted to move from the government sector to the private one... While ppl are moving from public to government. Hahaha I swimming against current.

So I'm trying to find a new job. If I found one, I'll pack my bags and head off to it. If I didn't, I'll say el7mdellah 3la kel 7aal but I'll pack my bags for a big vacation to some western countries :-D
This is considered as a decision... Not plan B :p

Coming to think of plans... They usually change. So one has better to have many plans. When I was in college, I used to have my own longterm plan. A five years plan. I said to myself that I'll graduate, find a job and save some money for a sport car then get married. Not interested in traveling. Everything is fine. Every thing is good. Until I get sick. Those plans got deleted... Loool... Not even suspended

Though I'm free of my sickness
Now that I got new plans
Taking care of my brothers... Those who are still in high school. Two of them are done and now in college. Two to go.
Traveling the world was added to the plan :-)
Maybe that's my plan
You should realize that marriage now isn't in the plan lool
Yeah it's not in the plan though plans do change you know.
Besides, marriage can be considered as fate... Not necessarily a plan :-D

Aaaaand now to 2013 the Addictioneer's resolution.... YATTAAAA

- Obviously, change of career

- Continue to take care of my brothers and beat manners into them

- Travel to USA :D

- Buy a new mobile phone :p

ummm what else.... May be that's all

I have hopes as well :)

I hope that all the ppl who're waiting, seeking, claiming, looking for or fighting for freedom realize that freedom isn't about making your religion or doctrine to rule. It's not about sacking those who don't follow your faith or not belong to your family.

Freedom is about living in peace with each other... No discrimination. Equal opportunities in building a nation.

So if those freedom seekers follow that way then they will get freedom

They won't ever get it otherwise

Thoughts in and about Gold Coast evening tour - Part 5 finale - What a shame?!

Andre, the astronomer, told us that we can't observe the sky that night because of the weather. It was rainy and cloudy. We can't use the optical system - or whatever they call it - in such weather.
Right after the trip advisor entered the observatory room, Andre said "blame the (trip advisor) for the weather"
The trip advisor replied "I told that to God over the phone" *He was busy with his mobile phone*
Then his phone rang... he said "oh... God is calling me"
FUUUUUUUUUUU!

Totally ignoring Andre's presentation, I continued talking with Helen about what she does here. She said that she helps Andre in his Astronomy works. She added that he owns a restaurant which she helps him running it . She also pointed out that he's an athlete. He plays cycling... So what we have here... A worker, astronomer and athlete... The great Andre is.

Anyways, Helen explained to me how astronomy, to her, is boring.
She said "He will observe the sky. Find Jupiter and say: hey Helen come and watch Jupiter and I would say umm yeah this is Jupiter. He'll see it next year AND Jupiter is still Jupiter... Mars is still Mars... sigh".... LOOOL

Helen wanted to know why I came here. She said that Arabs don't usually come to this place
"plus" they don't usually visit Australia this time of the year
"Plus Plus" Arabs like to visit "fancy" places and this place isn't fancy.
I told her that I enjoy visiting green places, forests and waterfalls more than "fancy" place.
She said "Nice... then you might have visited the Purlingbrook Falls?"
I said "No... I visited Curtis Fall"
She replied "Nooo... Curtis Fall is a piss when you compare it to Purlingbrook Falls... Sorry for saying that"
LOOOL.. Then she took some card from shelf, pointed to a waterfall on the left and said that this is the Purlingbrook Falls. In the card, the waterfall looks gorgeous. While the other waterfall, Twin Falls, is a two big waterfalls next to each other. That's why its called so.
She continued saying "Take this card. It's for you... for free... show it to your family and just pretend you went there" LOOOL

Anythough
I told Helen that I loved Australia and it's not only because of the wonderful weather and the beautiful landscape, it's because Aussies are very friendly. Smiles are everywhere. Beside, I can walk the whole night and alone without any feeling of discomfort or insecure :D
If you ask me why I say they are friendly, I would say:
It's because of daily "G'day mate" :)
It's because of their shiny smile. Specially the Queensland smile :P ...
I wish ppl here are like there. You can have ppl here saying "Salam Alaikom" instead of "G'day mate" but you barely could find ppl smiling.

Helen told me that it's about education and being able to openly connecting to people. If we provide a good education then life would get better..... Manners would be better
But if we have a bad education system and have less people manage to study then people will have a lot of empty time to annoy and harass other people thus make a bad atmosphere.
Some of those who didn't have the chance for education may would end up in some wrong place seeking education... A place where they learn how to hate. They may end up learning how to hold guns and fight like what you see in middle east.
She added that there are bad people in Australia and you can bet they stopped their education. They have nothing to do but to make problems.

Ummmm... Here comes the random questions
Is it really about education?
does smile has something to do with education?
Are the frown faces we see around us happened to be caused by poor education?
Is it true that we can fight "terrorism" with good education system?
let me go broader by asking "Is education have the power to make us accept each other?"
I ain't saying "to like or love each other"!.... Just to accept each other... live in harmony no matter how much diverse we are!

I know many people who are well educated in science, engineering, arts etc. Yet they seem to reject other people for their views, religion and even for their family|tribe name.
Good education huh!
So what's the problem here?
I would say the problem is education!
Education is a very broad term. It's not only about learning at school nor about studying only.
It's what your parents teach you.
It's what you learn from religious circles|lessons
It's what you learn from your friends
It's what one would learn from going to theater or some show
Something must be wrong in one or more of "Education as broad term" that cause people to be racist, to reject or hate
I'm not sure if all that all I mentioned above is called "Education" though :D
Sigh...
Loool... I'm talking nonsense

Anyways, Helen was kinda careful with the way she talks. It was so obvious when she uses the sentence "you know what I mean" over and over.

She told me that long time ago some Muslim guy visited the observatory and argued with Andre about some matter. Before leaving, the guy gave Andre a Quran and a small book that mentions the scientific facts in Quran. She told Andre to show them to me.
I took the Quran AND...
That strange feeling of being proud of the Quran being in such place
Mixed with regrets about not praying the whole journey
Mixed with questions like why do they keep the Quran while they are not Muslims... among other questions.

I took the other book which was very thin. I could read some Aayat from the Quran interpreted in a modern scientific way.
I got that feeling again. This time mixed with "I'm reading Arabic"
Andre told me the books mentions great scientific facts. No wonder, most of the facts are about astronomy :) He praised the books for their content.
I wasn't excited though
I was already taught that at school.
Helen, on the other hand, was curious to know if I can read the books. I read some sentences in the first page.

Helen told me that Andre end up getting angry with the guy who gave him the books. Andre confirmed that and said the guy keeps arguing about the moon and how to see it. Looool I said "I know what exactly that guy wants to know. It's something about how to determine Ramadan. It depends on the moon. It's the same argument happens every year"
And I said to myself... huh! traveling miles and miles to ask such question
What a shame...

Andre said "it turned out that he was a bad guy. He has some connection with Alqaeda"!
Again... What a shame...

Here the trip advisor called me. Everyone was in the bus while I were enjoying talking with Helen and Andre. Helen said "don't forget the card"
I replied "it's with me. Thank you very much and good bye"

Tamborine is one of the green places I visited in Australia. I found about it when I was googling for places to visit in Australia and I saw the Curtis falls in Panoramio website. I said to myself "You will go there"

Walking in the forest was very very tiring. You can hear me breathing heavily and hardly at 0:26 that when my cousin walked a little ahead of me then vanished. He told me that he got scared of some huge bird flying above the forest and started to run as fast as he can ... He reached the exit in seconds LOOOL

Ummm... It's called Tamborine National Park

This is my cousin with his "Kuwait" polo shirt and that building in front of us is the... ehm "berwery" and the cheese factory/shop

I don't know if it's natural but the forest has Palms section

Here the driver "John" said "The old villagers used to fill this pool with water and path their kids... and this story is not true"... I totally got owned :D

AND this is the Curtis Falls... It is amazing

This meal from the Tamborine restaurant. It's called chicken panini with fries. So delicious but the vegetables are very organic. It feels like your eating a farm. Guess I ain't used to eat organic food.

Thoughts in and about Gold Coast evening tour - Part 4 - Blame The Society

We returned to the bus after watching the glow worms and it's time to visit the observatory...
So we're there at the observatory... To be exact, It's called Springbrook Research Observatory. We've been introduced to two "researchers". Andre Clayden and Helen, not really sure about her name though, an astronomer and co-astronomer. Andre started to introduce himself and talk about astronomy. It took me five minutes to get lost. I was, actually I am, interested to know about observatory and astronomy though it's hard to follow when I don't understand astronomy terms and words... I didn't know what he was talking about :D
So I didn't bother myself hearing the rest of the talks

While Andre was talking about astronomy, Helen invited all the visitors with cakes and tea. She told us to feel free to eat more cause there is a lot. I prepared tea for myself and craved one piece of cake. It was a big piece covered a little with shredded coconut and was yummy. I finished eating that one and she told me "you're the one who should eat more than one piece" LOOL obviously am the thinest person there :)

She was a tall old nice woman. She said "Where are you from" and I told her from Kuwait. She was like ummm... It's near Dubai. The trip advisor joined and told me that I don't have middle eastern face. I told him yeah actually my father is Kuwaiti but mom is actually Thai so that's why. He told me that he is from Japan... cool I love Japan
He said "You're Muslim then" and I said yup
I asked him "What about you?"
He said "I don't believe in anything. I don't believe in God"
I said "You don't believe in God!"
I moved two steps away from him
He said "Why?"
I said *Confused* "I'm afraid of... thunder from sky"!
He said "It's personal choice to believe in something, isn't it?"
I replied "yes" :S
I always respect ppl's personal and religious views but I didn't encounter someone who don't believe in God in my life. I'm a man with values though. I should respect his views though.
That is sick though... :p

Anyways, Helen told me that some members of her family are in Jordan and that she's been in Dubai long time ago. She told me that the thing she likes about Dubai is their perfumes.
She said "Do you know Ajmal?" of course I know
She said that she love their perfumes "I put their perfume and walk outside everyone would ask me what's that nice strong perfume and I would reply it's Ajmal"
She even went to her room and brought the bottle. It wasn't like the one I see in the market these days so I said "Yeah it's old... I don't think it's available in the market anymore. It smells good though like all the old perfumes". By smelling the perfume I knew what she likes... A perfume that is strong like Arabic perfumes and smells romantic like French ones.
I said to her that Ajmal became old and there are other shops that sell perfumes better than theirs in packages and in competitive prices... You can hear her saying "uh... OMG" and sort of that reaction... hahaha definitely she admires the perfume.
I'm not planning to travel to Australia in the near future though definitely would bring her a bunch of perfumes if I go there :)

Anythough, She also told me that she's surprised at how women there are covering their entire body, head and face all in black. she was wondering about how can they stand the hot weather and breath under that cover and if Islam is forcing women to wear like this. ummm... tough questions. I told her that it's maybe when you were there long time ago but it's not like that anymore. Ppl has changed cause they now watch other worlds and now you can see "colors".
Am I right??? :S

She asked me "Do you want women wear all black?"
hahaha... another tough question. I said "No". Mother earth isn't black only and women have the right to express their beauty.
You have a great voice then no one in the world should stop or prevent you from showing your great voice
You have some talent then no one in the world should stop or prevent you from showing your talent
You are beautiful then no one in the world should stop or prevent you from showing your beauty
If you have a gift from God then no one should stop or prevent you from exploiting it
Tough everything should be shown or exploited in a "decent" way. "Decent" is relative though. It's interpreted differently. I used to see women and ask myself why these women don't follow the Islamic way of clothing.... why my sister doesn't wear hijab!...
Not anymore... I have changed. That after when I discovered that the Islamic way of Hijab/clothing is also relative and that even in the early ages of Islam women weren't wearing black all the way. Also, Hijab was showing some hair back then. Even Hijab wasn't there as a term!
I also see that Islamic clothing is actually some regulation set by old Islam scholars or Sheikh and that it's like a personal view plus it's very old imho!

Anythough, What I wanna say here is that women's clothing isn't the problem of Islam. It's the problem of our society. In our society, no matter what women wear they'll be followed and be susceptible to harassment. Some men need only to see the eyes of a woman to say AAWOOOOOO like wolves... even though woman wears Neqab. (I shouldn't call them men though... Everybody knows what a man is!)
You can also see how some men or even kids follow girls in the malls like zombies. Whenever I go to a mall I ask myself what happened to the world?!
What's wrong here?
What's in those ppl's brain?
What is the "real" society's perception of woman anyway?
It's complicated
It happened that there's a huge difference between my own perception of women and between "Islam's" and society's ones

Thoughts in and about Gold Coast evening tour - Part 3 - Less Social

Taking the winding streets of the Tamborine mountain heading to the rain forest in springbrook. The bus stopped working once... thank god it wasn't engine issue. The driver just didn't shift the gear early enough or maybe he didn't press the clutch properly.
I like how the mountains look at night with huge tree everywhere. They are beside the street, up in the mountain and down the cliffs. Giving a great scene at night. A scene that you wouldn't like to see alone of course :)

It's raining already, we've reached the place where we could see the glow worms. We hopped off the buss and wear the raining suit given by the trip advisor and before get going he told us that our legs could catch leeches as we walk through the rain forest and that it happens more often when it's raining (thanks for the good news mate). He said that we shall not get panic if we get to see a leech in our legs and mentioned that they only suck blood!.
He added that sucking blood is actually good for our health!. So the more leeches you get the more healthier you'll be. ummm too much info mate. I don't wanna get healthier by leeches. I don't want leeches 7ejama :D

So knowing that I was wearing short, nearly half of my legs are naked so they're really easy yet delicious target for leeches. They don't have to worry about my hep c cause I cleared it out :p
I came to think that wearing short is good and bad... bad for the reason I mentioned earlier and good for I can actually see where the leech could be on my leg. "It could reach your legs even if you're wearing jeans" the trip advisor said. So it really doesn't matter

Anyways, through the dark rain forest using our headlight we walked till we reach a small store. There the trip advisor asked us to check our legs for any leech here and there. No one had.... Very good. Anyways, the store sells some forests goods, variety of soaps, creams and honey among other products. All of them are produced from the forest's green tree. I decided to pass not buying anything. I regret not buying honey though :D

After that we went to a cave where the glow worms reside. The trip advisor started with a very boring presentation that demonstrates glow worms, their life cycle and how they catch other insects blah blah blah

Wasn't interested... I just wanted to see the glow worms
Went beyond some door and it was amazing
It was very dark inside and you can see tiny lights like the stars all over the cave. The scene was amazing. I couldn't take any photo as The trip advisor said taking photos isn't allowed. It's because the glow worms will stop glowing if we shoot with camera flash. They are sensitive to white light. They would think it's sunrise and would stop glowing.
The trip advisor used some red/green light to show us the glow worms as it doesn't affect the them.
Anyways what you'll see is similar to the pics below

The most interesting fact, to me, is that they glow to attract insects to their web which is basically a string of liquid sticky thingy. But "why insects attract to the light of the glow worm?"
There is no definite answer to this question though the trip advisor says the best explanation is that insects tends to travel toward the stars and that glow worms colonies look like stars at night. So insects would follow the stars-like glow worms until being trapped in their sticky strings!

The part that made me laugh is when the trip advisor said that the brighter the glow worm glow, the hungrier they are. He continued "And am very hungry... That's why am glowing very bright now" LOOOL

It is very interesting to remember how I was able to adapt to the ppl around me. I thought that I'll be alone and silent during the journey. I was the opposite.
It isn't that am very social... Most of the time I was like silent or looking lost in journeys, bus or when someone tries to start a conversation.
I remember the night before Christmas eve I went with my cousin to to buy some food. We were preparing for the Christmas day cause nearly all restaurants will be closed that day. We don't want be starving to death :p.... anyways, I put the shopping basket on the cashier table.
She said "groceries huh"
I replied with "yep" and yep only
I finished paying... as soon as I left the store cousin told me "are you stupid or what?"
I said "haaaa... What happened?"
He said "The cashier... she wanted to talk to you but you ignored her"
I said "I don't know... I mean how did you know?"
He said "She was confused... really obvious when she tried to charge your credit card"
Actually am the one who's confused. How can I know someone is interested in like talking to me or knowing me
My cousin continues "You could've say like we're preparing for the Christmas eve. start some conversation... you could've end in a date with her"
hahaha bullshit

I can be weak when it comes to being social though I would say this is quite natural for geeks! I mean ppl who spend hours and hours in front of computer, gaming consoles or even watching Anime are less social than other ppl.
As a computer engineer I have many geek and nerd friends. What I mean with "nerds" is those ppl who solves a mathematical problem with a huge smile on their face and they would say "I solved a tough mathematical problem and it made my day"!.... Anythough, I would say they are less social but imho they are very honest and straightforward.

I prefer ppl being honest and straightforward rather than being social
it's not bad being less social than others
Though I have to be more social... or I should say I have to be more interactive with ppl :D

I remember a Canadian old man at the company I used to work before... Those days when I didn't have problem working form 7:00am to 7:00pm
Anythough, it was 7:00pm and I was still working as he came and said to me "Waleed... if you keep working like this you'll never get married"

Thoughts in and about Gold Coast evening tour - Part 2 - Giving back for bright future

The trip advisor who's also the driver of the bus started talking about the journey and the route we will take to reach the mountains

As I said It was sunset. Everyone in the bus can see the Gold Coast Bats starting to fly high up in the sky. The trip advisor said these are called the flying foxes or the fruit bats.

They are called flying foxes because they look like foxes. Unlike the "ordinary" bat we know and fear, which are more like flying mice, the flying fox is big... really really big. Its wings reach one meter length, added up, when spread along.
The trip advisor mentioned that they have functional eyes unlike the regular bats that use sound waves to sense their way. He also said you can distinguish their faces. I'm not sure if he means that each flying fox has a unique face though. I didn't take a "personal" photo of a "flying fox" during my stay in Australia so I can't judge if it's really looks like a fox. Google can help though :) (photo from Google is the one down below). I used to see them every night though I always keep distance. They are really scary

They are called fruit bats because, obviously, they eat fruits. They don't suck blood. Interesting!!
To me it's not interesting... Come on, a bat that sucks human blood and turns into a vampire midnight to kiss pretty woman is much more interesting imho :p

The trip advisor mentioned that unfortunately the number of the flying foxes are decreasing. They are threatened to extinction. He pointed that it's "interesting" to realize that when the number of people living in the region increase, the number of these animals decrease. That makes me wonder about how amazingly this equation is "true".

I mean the region is rich with resources. Rain forests with huge trees, bats and birds are among them. Human want to live there. Human will develop their powers and science to maximize consumption of the land's resources. Human would cut trees among other resources to build their houses or to make farms.

Animals on the other hand can't adapt to this change. Imaging two flying foxes hanging on a tree. One bat sense something wrong with the tree and would say to his partner "hey mate. Do you think what I'm thinking". the other bat says "oh. WTF NOT AGAIN. THE TREE IS GOING DOWN". Then they would search for another tree

And in another story, you can skip if you couldn't bare the previous story and I know you couldn't, a flying fox is on his way back to his tree after a long night of searching for food. It didn't see its tree. It called its friend over the phone and said "Hey mate. I don't see my tree. All I see is a house and a road beside!!"

Back to the main issue. Animals couldn't adapt to this change. They can't survive on a land where human dominates and are consuming the land's resources. Managing to find food is getting much harder for them. Climate is changing. Human are taking and consuming but not giving back.

Realizing that, The Australian authorities and communities are making huge efforts in protecting natural habitat. Reducing cutting trees, taking care of animals and protecting endangered species from extinction.

How does that compare to our country?
In our country, we neither have the green forests nor that much amount of natural habitat or animals. The only natural resource you can think of is "Oil" which will end anyway. So we can't for example take care of oil or grow oil like the way Australia treat their forests and animals.

We are consuming... Are we giving back?
Think with me... What has changed in Kuwait the last say 10 or 15 years... and compare it to Qatar or UAE
New streets and bridges!
New malls!
umm not that much change

but is this how we should give back? What are we doing anyway?
We are still relying on "oil" while UAE and Qatar are buying big companies shares and busy turning their country to a financial state. Not to mention tourism. They managed to make their land, that is basically a desert, attract all the tourists and "shoppers" from around the world.

Can we have another source of energy?
Can we have railways?
Can we encourage ppl to use public transport?
Can we reduce the two million non-kuwaiti workers and start building our country by ourselves?
Can we make our country attract tourists?

Even though we see ads about "Kuwait's Future" showing future projects, ppl here seems skeptical about it. May be because we lost confidence. May be we only care about what we'll get "Now"
Or I should say we're busy in getting more money and "be Muslims" now!

For how many years our "Oil" would last?
There's no specific number
May be we don't wanna bother ourselves calculating that. May be we don't care about the future

Thoughts in and about Gold Coast evening tour - Part 1 - Equality & Justice

The day is nearly over, the night is almost here at Gold Coast, Australia
Just returned from the Dream World theme park with my cousin. He was tired after hours and hours riding those funny, enjoying, entertaining and scary rides in addition to watching amusing events there.
Me, on the other hand, wasn't that tired. I used to take one hour break after such tiresome journey then set off walking and taking photos around Gold Coast from sunset till late midnight

One night, I wanted to do something different and hell... It's hard to find something different to do at night in Gold Coast. Most of the shops and malls are closed around 6 o'clock leaving some restaurants, bars, night clubs, casinos and one amusement park to be honest!
Anyways... I went to the resort's reception room. There was, I don't know what they call it in English, a tour's holder/rack :p I checked the tours and there were many. I grabbed a tour that says "Glow worms evening tour including an observatory" and in the description right under the photo it says "wave goodbye to the glitz and glamour of the Gold Coast's nightlife for a peaceful evening escape back to the nature"... and oh I really want to wave goodbye to Gold Coast's nightlife that night
So I called them and booked that tour

The bus came. I hopped on. As a kuwaiti I scanned the ppl around me and the situation was OMG. All couples except me. They were from japan, India and Europe I can tell. As the trip advisor started to talk about the tour, I forgot all about being alone... It wasn't the time to say "forever alone" cause it isn't Valentine day :p It was just a Christmas day... or I should say the day before Christmas day :)

To travel alone... that was my decision after all. To meet my cousin.
Traveling alone gives you more control on traveling plans. You can go anywhere without worrying about some partner being bored. Or even you, getting bored by partner's places of interest.

A question comes to mind. Should everyone experience traveling alone?
Big question
My father tried to convince me not to travel alone to that country. He couldn't change my mind.
I understand my father being worried about his son traveling overseas alone. I'll be worried for the same reason if I were a father.
It was not my choice to begin with. I tried to search for a partner to travel with me. I couldn't find one. My relatives can't afford staying one month in Australia. Some of them concerned about the money others are married :)
But I want to go there. No one can stop me :)
Answering the question... traveling alone is not a goal. If it happened then it's just happened. It's not something considered to be a big achievement added to someone's life imho. The real achievement is what did you do in the country you traveled to.

What about girls traveling alone?
In my family, I know wives did travel alone. Not completely alone but with some other wives or girls as company.
Never heard of a young girl in the family traveled alone
I don't think that father would allow my sister to travel alone

Anyway... What is my opinion? I'll answer that directly though you should know that The Addictioneer two years ago wasn't the same as The Addictioneer now. Likely won't be the same two years from now. My thoughts and personality are in continuous change :)

So my opinion "now", for my son - if I have one- I wouldn't allow him to travel alone or with friends if he's "not in college or above". Traveling alone when still in college is arguable though. Traveling with family is the best thing to allow at this age. This should be understandable. A man whose "not in college or above" can considered to be teen. Their personality is shaping this period and should be shaped under sight imho.

Now for the tough part, girls traveling. This part would get most of the argues due to that fact they are "women" and to how Islam/"Islam ppl" looks to women.
To me I wouldn't mind my daughter travel abroad and alone if she's going to study. I can't think of any reason to allow her travel alone other than studying but I would say that I would allow that for something reasonable. Something other than tourism. Fear and anxiety will still be there though traveling alone for a good "cause" can cover them.
So I lean to the fact that they are girls. Father, who loves his daughter, naturally gets worried whenever his daughter goes outdoor.

I remembered the Imam of our city mosque said: "Islam isn't a religion of equality. It's the religion of justice. Islam doesn't say that man and woman are equal. Islam insures justice between man and woman"

I would like to live in a world where man and woman are equal though :)

قد تكون امتداد لثقافتنا وعاداتنا وتقاليدنا
لما مثلا تسوي شي غلط أو شي ما يعجب أهلك أو حتى تجيبلهم مشاكل... ممكن أهلك يعالجون المشكلة وممكن يسامحون إذا كان عقلهم براسهم

بالمثل... ولو على أكبر شوي... شخص مريض قام بسب الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم. بعدها... وقفت الامة على ريل وحدة. طوائف دينية تصادمت. المجلس يحمّل الحكومة اللي صار. الكل فقد عقله... وإنسانيته. فأصبح الناس ينادون بالاعدام ولا شيء غير الاعدام!!!

وياليت لو يتم إقرار قوانين تطوير وتنمية البلد بهذه السرعة

Long time no blogging guys. But thanx to Butterfly Chick for tagging me. It's a great opportunity to break out from my blogging silence with this tag.

Btw, Butterfly chick is a great blogger from Bahrain who blogs about herself and asks nice questions. I really enjoy reading and commenting on her blog. You know I like to participate in "personal" blogs and it's quite hard to find one between all of these redundant and commercial blogs

let's start then

11 Facts about The Addictioneer

1- I am Kuwaiti. Mom is Thai. My family's originates from Dubai

as my grandfather's place of birth is Dubai. Just imagine the combination :)

2- Sitting in a room with Internet Connection, laptop, playstation, TV and Tea could mean the world to me

3- I prefer eating yesterday's home food rather than fancy restaurant and fast food. I also feel guilty if I eat greasy fast-food

4- I have acne since I was 15-16. Now I'm 26 and still get acne. I don't know why am still getting it and have no idea how to cure it

5- I love music. I learned playing Oud by myself using father's Oud. Self-learning comes at a price of course. I've broken father's Oud 3 times. I'm planning to learn keyboard and piano though... if I only have time

6- One Piece is the one and only Anime for me

7- I get afraid by heights. You can see my teardrops after riding those machines at the Entertainment cities

8- I love technology... I love linux. I don't use windows anymore though I have it on my machine for Microsoft ppl. I really encourage everybody here to test Linux. Ubuntu Linux is very easy to install and use specially for linux first-timers and those who wanna smooth transition from Windows to Linux

9- I have a color blind. It's not severe though it's enough to get confused when trying to fill Kuwait flag with color :)

Plus, traffic lights to me is like red, red and white from top to bottom :)

What a wonderful world :)

10- I prefer watching movie at home in a bluray/dvd rather than in the theater

11- Three years ago I did my first per-employment test. The result for drugs addiction was positive. Receiving the result was like a slap in the face. I managed to make the doctor do another test and that one came negative. That's the story behind my nickname The Addictioneer.Addicted + Engineer = The Addictioneer

Now to answering the questions:

1. If you were walking and you saw a stranger wearing something that you really wanted to have long time ago, will you go ask from where they got it?
Umm I wouldn't ask him directly. I would try to start a conversation like "The weather today is so hot man". Slowly till I reach my question. If I couldn't start a it then I would just bit my tongue :)

2. Are you in love?
No not in love. I don't know why I ain't thinking about love as much I do before HCV. The love idea comes and goes to my mind though
So come on girls... get this heart occupied :p

3. Do you dislike/hate someone?
Yes I hate someone... That Kuwaiti manager who cheated me when I was doing the resignation papers from the company I worked before
And about dislike, everyone dislikes someone every now and then.
You see yourself dislike someone but after some time you would like him/her. Hate is something different... Dislike isn't something ~~not~~ worthy to mention

4. Have you ever tried drinking alcohol?
Yes.....
I was so curious. Why ppl drink? is it that fun?
So I went to the club thinking what to drink. I really don't know what to drink
I said to myself let's have Vodka
While drinking, I felt something burning inside me and started to get headache.
I stopped and told myself this is not fun

No. I have a canary at home. A present from cousin. I like it very much. I don't know if it can be considered a pet :)

If you asked me this question when I was a teen then I would say Yes. I took the seventh palce in the Quraan Telawa in Ahmadi province. I used to have a good voice back then. But now I can say my voice is from good to ordinary. I can sing but my voice has nothing special :)

11. Are you fat?
I weigh 59.5kg and my height is 167cm
Conclusion: I'm not fat :)

Here I come again + Sydney Opera House

Hi ppl of planet earth,
Here I come again. Back to Kuwait with new laptop and mobile phone :)

Now I can officially announce the retirement of my legendary Toshiba seven years old laptop and the two years old nexus one
Replacing them with the all new google galaxy nexus and Dell inspiron 14z

Now I feel my nexus one is very tiny. I'm also wondering how I used that small screen :)

the laptop on the other hand is an average one. I didn't intend to buy fancy slim i7 with 400 price tag and above... for the time being :)
All I wanted is a laptop that works well with ubuntu linux. I googled for such laptop and found Dell inspiron 14z. Equipped with the second generation 2430M i5. It's a dual core processor but ubuntu system monitor sees it as 4 CPU. I don't know why... maybe because it's dual core with 4 threads... but it doesn't matter. It's linux-friendly and more than enough for my computing needs... also for the time being :)

Ubuntu 64bit installed. had some problems with wireless but I used ethernet wire and updated the system. After that the wireless works fine and everything works out of the box

Coming to the best part: Sydney Opera House
In this post I'll share with you Sydney Opera House photos I took and a video. Inshallah there will be many many photos I'll share them in the upcoming posts

Hi people of planet earth,
Wanna share with you some photos and "a video" of the new year eve event in Sydney. One of the best fireworks in the world. I couldn't get the far view of the bridge but luckily the main event this year was on the opera house side and it was in front of us with the best view

Sydney Wollongong and leaving to Gold Coast Plan

Hi people of planet earth,
I'm really really really enjoying my vecation here in Australia
Just wanna summarize what I did in the seven days here sharing with you some photos

I spent couple of hours in Sydney after meeting my cousin. Nothing to mention

You can see the UTS university building

And took the train to Wollongong

Reached Wollongong and joined cousin and his friends aprartment

I walked around Wollongong like I've never walked before
This is the Crown Street mall

I like the beach and specially the two lighthouses there

This Lighthouse called breakwater lighthouse

I also went to the Bellambi Lagoon which took me more than an hour walking to get there. I don't know why I prefered walk there by myself. It's in north Wollongong I should've took the train to reach it easily :)

بدأت إجازتي

وسأسافر إلى العالم الجديد

سأسافر الى أستراليا للراحة والاستجمام... والمغامرة

سأذهب تاركا اخواني الاثنين المدوجين اللي زفيتهم زف. جايبين لي الشهادة كل واحد عنده كيكة... احم دوّيحة

والاخ الثالث يبشر بالخير... مشروع شخص افضل مني

ما أقول الا شدّوا حيلكم يالخمّة.... أحبكم

واخواني الباقين خو بس خلاص كل واحد عنده وظيفة وما ينخاف عليه

الوالد والوالدة العزيزين... اخواني فيهم الخير والبركة

ومادري ليش احس ان كتابة كلمة العزيزين فيها شي غلط... احس في حرف ياء ناقص

السفر بنظري شي عادي ولا يحتاج الى لحظات حزينة ولا جو فلم هندي

بس السفرة هذي غير شوي لانها جاءت بعد سنتين من معاناتي مع مرض إلتهاب الكبد الوبائي سي او عشان اكون دقيق معاناتي مع "علاج" هذا المرض والحمدالله تخلصت منه

راح اسافر بروحي... وهناك راح التقي بولد عمتي طلال يدرس بأستراليا يوريني ديرته

وانشالله راح اظل اتواصل معاكم كثر ما اقدر بتويتر والمدونة

عجبني كلام الباشمهندسة الكبيرة وفاء
