At Last...

...good news for us! Naked Man is three days on his new job! It's a bit of a drive for him (Plymouth) but it's a pretty good job. He has the next seven weeks of full-time work WITH full-time classes. If he (we) can survive 10 months of unemployment, he will survive the next seven weeks!

It looks like Spring has sprung! 60 degrees today and it's only St. Patrick's Day! I suppose we will get another blast of something but it will, undoubtly, be short lived. Naked Man had his bike out for a spin already. I'm being a big baby because I don't like all the residual salt, sand and potholes. Whaa!

Looking forward to Easter with as much family as we can muster. Gotta have an Easter egg hunt, the Easter bunny and lots of food!

Wow! It's been THAT long?!?

I have been TERRIBLE... and I know it! Where does the time go?

Things are what they are these days. Naked Man is a full time student (without a job) and I am still doing what I always do. I love my job, I love my job, I love my job....

This photo is not new, but it's cute!

Joselyn and Heidi.... or Hidey or ??? The puppy hides a lot... any suggestions? Joselyn turned one on December 3 and Hidey turned one January 28.

Naked Man and I are making the best of our pathetic excuse for a place to live (our crappy apartment in White Bear Lake)... for now! We are desperately trying to find a way to MOVE ON but I think that's still going to take some time. Patience, Grasshopper....

I know this is a short update but I promise to return soon. Hopefully Spring gets here soon and we're all out and up on two wheels before we know it!

2008 has been strange....so far.

As I sit here, wondering "Where have the months gone already?", I realize that some are missing to me.

The year started out fine. We had a nice Christmas and a quiet New Year. Then....things got strange.

In February, I was in an accident.

The car was totaled and we replaced the Toyota with a used Mini Cooper (sorry, no photo yet). Despite my 2005 Mini being a convertible, I loved everything else about it so we searched and found a hardtop with low miles and in good condition.

I seemed "fine at the time" but things started to get worse, for me, over the next month or so.

I ended up.....

The animals kept me company as I waited for surgery and as I recovered. They were great helpers......

and typically amusing.

I kept myself occupied (for 4 months) by taking an "independent study" class, which required a TON of reading. Naked Man worked a LOT and the time passed. By June, I was bored and decided to ROLL my bike out of the garage to take some new photos of it. I am sure it was amusing for the neighbors.....the bike did not want to cooperate with our sloping driveway so it ended up out in the street with no easy way for me to get it back in the garage. I finally had to ride it a whole block to put it back. I went back to work in mid July, with "shortened" days for a month, and am now working full-time. I am also able to maneuver my bike fairly well. No more rolling it around 100% uncontrollably! (I'm only a little bit out of control!)

Naked Man decided to trade in the Goldwing late August and we were able to make our favorite trip to Iowa for the Davis Rally, September 6. He wanted to break in the new bike, a Yamaha Roadliner (a better photo to come). Really..... it is about throwing candy to the little kids watching the parade!

We were not in Iowa long but I was thrilled to snap a shot of, what I like to call, "Bubba butt crack"! You have to look close because it is.....ummmm.... in jail!?!

Oh, I am sure I have more things to "share" but this is it for now. Naked Man and I have to get back to our studies. He is in a business ethics class and I am in two technical communication classes. We are finding that school just ain't what it used to be!

It's been a LONG time....

I haven't posted for SO LONG.... I almost forgot how, but I am here and I am alive. Many things have happened in the past six or seven months so I have a lot of catching up to do. Stay tuned!

...holiday "mood", that is!

Naked Man decided we needed a little holiday cheer around the place and did a little decorating. (No, that is NOT a space alien at the end of the fence. That is Santa!) It was awfully nice to come home one LONG day/night, after work and class, to a bright Santa and a lit driveway. It has helped chase "bah, hum bug" away. Great job, Naked Man, and thanks!

Need I remind you? There is only a few days left to vote for the coolest bike. Looks like Naked Man is going to lose again. I feel kind of bad. He was trying to talk me into reinstating the butt crack poll so he could compete there instead.

You know, seeing how it is after Thanksgiving he might have a chance BUTT.... I think he will have to wait for another one of our big outings. Then he can compete against some fresh crack!!!

Latest adventure in Iowa

Well..... we went on another adventure to the great state of Iowa and stopped at the Diamond Jo (Diamond Ho, as Naked Man likes to call it) casino. We were there for approximately 30 minutes at around $2.50/minute.... in donations. You do the math.

As you can see by the photo, the silo was.... interesting. Loved the Burger King inside! I did try to take a shot of the entrance but was laughing too hard at Naked Man tugging on the brass corn cobb "hardware" on the doors. None of them turned out.

If you head to Iowa on I-35, stop in. It's amusing, but leave your money in your wallet!

We met Paul and Karen in Rochester, MN at the Culvers we stopped at. They were on their new 2008 Goldwing, which they're standing in front of and you can't see, but it's nice. Take my word for it!

Davis Rally, New Hampton, Iowa

Recently, we went to the Davis Rally, "Always The Weekend After Labor Day" and it was a riot. The people who attend are NOT, typically, Sturgis goers. Most of them ride Honda Gold Wings and/or triked Gold Wings.

The three day event consisted of games, organized rides, dinner rides, bingo, music, dancing and shopping. In my opinion, the parade Saturday night was the BEST!!! The entire town lines the streets while about 200 (or more) bikes "parade" by. Many of the bikes are lighted and as Naked Man likes to say "look like rolling disco balls". We rode two-up so I could throw candy to the kids....and take pictures!

I highly recommend experiencing this at least once!

These are some of the adventures Naked Man and I have had on our motorcycles. We were married May 25, 2007.

Naked Man has a 2006 Honda Gold Wing, which he has had almost two years now. I bought my bike, a 2006 Honda VTX 1300, June 14, 2007.

Since then, we have done and seen a few interesting things. We are lucky to meet people on our adventures to continually make them memorable!
