Halloween Event: Caught Red Handed...oops!

I was out early in the evening on Halloween donning my special spiderman costume when I was spotted by some angry and unappreciative humans. I guess they didn't like a little fellow such as myself swiping all the chocolates, so they made an attempt to capture me...

...so I dodged to the left, but humans being persistent in nature, were hard on my heels. Now I know how my racoon buddies feel.

Not to be outsmarted, I cut back to the right in a stunningly evasive move...

...back to where I was first spied. Those funny looking humans are no match for my cunning and agile spider-pants abilities.

I smirk in their general direction as I clamber over the hedge, ta ta silly humans, I ate all your chocolates. Hope you had a Happy Halloween anyway.

Well finally, I managed to get Girly to help me with my blog. Humans are so frustrating and hard to control at times. So anyway, here I am on Christmas morning checking out the prezzies. Please note my festive Christmas apparel.

Hey where's mine? Those darned humans are going to make me search for my goodies. Maybe it's in here? Hmm, apparently not!

Urg, I've have to scale this one and check it out.

Oops, it's like dumpster diving, what fun.

My humans sent me outside to "do something". I think they were trying to get rid of me. So here I am hanging out watching the birds hop around in the bushes overhead. Ho hum, not sure what "to do".

Plunk! I should have known this would happen, rotten little birds, I can hear them laughing and twittering away. I can't stay here of course.

So I decided to make a snowman scarecrow kind of guy to frighten the birds away. Ha, ha, serves them right!

Boy this snowball is getting harder to roll. I'll put my shoulder into it to try and budge it....I can here those birds laughing again...urg...grunt!

Ah, this is shaping up nicely.

A little more molding and I'll be almost done.

P.S. I got Girly for the "falling down the stairs" cunning plan she devised....some how (snicker) she got a case of food poisoning and missed out on her New Year's Eve party. Me and NBF went without her. Ha! Ha! What a shame.

It's finally Christmas morning and I annoyed my humans enough to get them out of bed so we could get this day going. I scampered around the tree to find my presents.

Oh boy, this one's for me.

Look what New Big Friend got me, stylish black rubber boots to keep my feet dry. How thoughtful of him. He knows how I love footwear.

Girly got me something too...roller skates. Ooooooh, this should be fun.
I can zoom around and annoy everyone.

...or not, as I immediately did a face plant.

Hmmm, these things are tricky. I banged into lots of objects, knocked things over and dragged ornaments off the tree in my attempts at being proficient.

I finally got the hang of it and pretty soon I was zooming around...unfortunately, I hadn't got turning or stopping figured out
as I got too close to the top of the stairs. This is all Girly's fault, I bet she arranged this...a cunning plan indeed.

I went hurtling over the edge and bounced my way down the stairs.

Plonk!

It's a good thing I'm soft and woolly, and bounce pretty good, but I'll still get her for this. There better be some chocolates under that tree to make up for this.

A Snow Day for Mr Putty Pants

WOWEEE look at all that snow out there! I thought it would be fun to go outside and romp around so I ordered Girly to get me dressed for such an occasion. This is me all bundled up and ready to go.

Ooh, this is nice. Being as light as a feather I can stand on top of the snow.

I started to explore the backyard but I found myself sinking into the snow. Darn those donuts and cookies.

Pretty soon I was floundering about head first in the snow. Girly, of course, had gone back in the house and could not hear me calling for help. Curse those humans!

I finally managed to right myself after a lot of flailing about.

I tried to make it back to the house but I got caught in a huge drift, succeeding to embed myself in its side like a great woolly mammoth only to be found when the great melt comes. Somehow this is all Girly's fault.

After an ice age of time, I managed to free myself and make it back into the house. I left my cap on a snowdrift to make Girly think I'm lost somewhere in the snow while I'm sitting by a warm furnace vent sipping hot chocolate.

Mr Putty Pants Helps Trim The Tree

One day when my human handlers left me alone, I took it upon myself to add a few more lights to the Christmas tree. I wasn't allowed to help out this time due to "the incident" from last year...humans can be so fussy!

So here I am trying to figure out how to get these darned lights up into the tree...hmmm, maybe if I hold them this way?

I was absorbed in this problem when all of a sudden, Mr Kitty jumped out of the branches above me batting at an expensive decoration...sheesh Mr Kitty, you're gonna get me in trouble if you break something.

I was ordering him down when I slipped and fell off my step stool, landing in a pile on the floor. I got all tangled up and couldn't get undone so I ended up staying there for several hours until my humans came home. There was a lot of finger wagging and thinly disguised laughter. Humans can be so cruel don't you think?

The whole time Mr Kitty was undetected in the branches of the tree. I think I saw him sniggering too. Rotten kitten.

I'm back, sorry for my absence. Girly wouldn't let me near the computer after I spilled hot chocolate all over the keyboard of her precious Mac...sheesh, some humans can be so anal.

So, we, that is myself and my human handlers, stopped by Girly's parents place in the country. My humans had bought me a boat so I could kayak with them (after relentless begging by me of course). But there was snow on the ground, so they thought it would be fun to launch me from the top of the hill and watch me zoom down into the pond at the bottom. I didn't get a say in this as they already had me strapped in. Here I gooooooo!

Onto the pond I went, pretty cool. I know I'm looking very dashing in my woolly cap and mittens as I zoom along the water in my spanking new red kayak.

I managed to get around the pond a few times before the momentum wore off. It seems I'm supposed to do some paddling or something to keep this boat going. I'll have to attach some kind of outboard on this rig so I can side swipe my humans as I zoom past them.

Here I am coming ashore after some exhilarating boating activity. Dodged a few snapping turtles and scared some fish. Can't wait to do more.

Seems my future boating activities will have to wait as the big snows came down by next morning laying thick on the ground at Girly's parents place. A little fellow like me could get lost in that.

Well I'm off for a night of prowling the neighbourhood. I might look cute and fluffy in my bunny outfit but being the weird little fellow that I am, and those that know me will be very aware, it's all a trick. I was messing around outside when I was told we were going on a road trip. Camping and kayaking...oh boy!

The next thing I knew, Mr Kitty was telling me he was coming too. I had to put my foot down and say "no, kittens and water don't mix". Besides road trips are my thing and it's for my, I mean "his" own good.

Being the enterprising fellow that I am, I riffled around in Girly's purse to get her camera. I thought it was time I took a few pictures on this trip of ours.

So without anyone suspecting I got a little snap happy. Here's New Big Friend.

Here are my shoes...oops, looks like I got my thumb in the way.

This is me looking out the window sulking when Girly finally caught me and took the camera away. Rotten humans, I'll get her.

Along the way we encountered some interesting weather. I didn't take this since I no longer had control of the camera...bummer. We eventually arrived and set up camp. My humans wanted to go kayaking right away...don't they ever relax. They should take a page out of my book.

Speaking of bummers, when Girly had her back turned I slipped the camera out of her bag again and took this stunning shot....her best angle of course...ha ha!

Darn that Girly, she caught me again and I was relegated to the car. I got bored so I changed my hat and shoes to entertain myself whilst they went out kayaking. I didn't want to go anyway.

Here's another one, oh so pretty. I could have taken a shot like that too...IF I HAD A CAMERA! and wasn't locked in the car.

They arrived back and let me out and we all sat around the campfire. It was a little chilly so I borrowed New Big Friends jacket. He'll have to freeze, too bad.

Two days later, after more of the same boring human stuff, we went home. I managed to get the camera again and shot this gas stop over. I think my pictures are better than Girly's.

Mr Putty Pants Plays Eight Ball

Me and my New Big Friend thought we'd have a friendly game of eight ball, a bit of manly competition...no girls allowed. After insisting I'd won the coin toss, I got to go first, so I racked up the balls with this handy triangular shaped cookie cutter thingy.

Being short of stature I needed a little aid by way of a stool. Once set, I was ready to shoot.

Ah, good one, I've sunk a few stripes. My turn again...ha, ha!

Hmmm, I thought I'd try this bridge thing-a-ma-bob.

After ten minutes of lining up my shot and a lot of "hurry up" comments from the sidelines, I took my turn.

Urg, my shot was coming up a little short, so I ran down the table to blow on the ball making sure it went into the pocket. I was told that was not allowed and had to put the ball back on the table. Silly human creatures and their rules!

It's New Big Friend's turn now, I wonder if I can distract him by waving my fushia mittens around?

When I was told to "clear off" I snuck around to another side of the table and helped one of my lovely striped balls into an end pocket.

Whilst New Big Friend was busy lining up another shot, I dug around into one of the pockets for some of his solids. He doesn't seem to have as many balls on the table as I do so I thought I'd help him out.

Weee, there's an extra ball to balance the odds in my favour.

The game went back and forth for some time. Being the stellar player that I am, I made sure all my striped balls had been pocketed in one way or another so I'll just bang in this eight ball. Ha ha, I win!

Cirque du Soleil Putty

Since the Cirque's latest show is playing in my neighbourhood, I thought they might appreciate a star performer such as myself, so I donned my best costume and enlisted the help of my kitten "Mr Kitty" and his puppy "Cookie" to work out a dazzling routine.

We crept under the big top to join the troupe and took everyone by storm when we upstaged the star act in the middle of their routine. Unfortunately, we weren't appreciated as we were suddenly given the hook and sent packing. All this was accompanied by a whole lot of fist shaking and yelling in some foreign language I didn't understand. What is it with these humans?

I was looking for something to do one afternoon when I was visiting my childhood homestead and my human handlers, Girly and New Big Friend, had wandered off leaving me up to my own devices. They should know better by now.

I thought I'd try and pump the old well dry but it proved more difficult than I thought...darn. Maybe I'll take a stroll over to the apple trees and climb up one to see if anythings going on.

I managed to get up the tree carrying some binoculars I found, so I could spy on any activity in the area.

It's tricky getting into position. I hope I don't drop these things.

Ah ha! I see some activity down by the pond...let me get my trusty spyglasses into position.

There are several humans over there pointing and looking at something. I"ll need to get a better view to see what they are up to.

Before I could observe them further, I slipped and fell, snagging my foot and hanging myself up on a branch. All the wool rushed to my head making me feel rather dizzy. I better not have scuffed my stylish shoes.

I hung upside down for quite some time before I could disentangle my shoe. I decided it might be safer on the ground, so I crept into the reeds
to stalk the humans. Shhh....there they are...

....it's Girly's parents and New Big Friend. I was trying to creep closer to see what all the excitement was when I was surprised by Girly as she grabbed me from behind and took "their" binoculars away. She then proceeded to carry me around under her arm like some sort of pet, cruel, cruel humans indeed, spoiling a little fellows fun.

My humans and I are off to Pointe au Baril in Ontario's Rainbow Country for a few days R&R. Here I am waiting...waiting...waiting, whilst my slow humans get the kayaks on the car...come on will you, I'm an impatient little fellow you know.

Ah finally, as a punishment for making me wait, Girly will have to sit in the back seat...ha, ha to bad! Being a safety conscious fellow I strapped on my seat belt and off we went.

We've arrived at last after a few stop overs at Tim Hortons. I ended up being relegated to the back seat after asking "Are we there yet?" too many times. Sheesh, humans can be so frustrating.

I scampered up the steps of our little cabin...hurry up slow pokes, open the door.

Once inside I clambered around and checked out the view.

Then I secured the area with a fly swat...

...and had a go on the high wire.

Here I am waiting for something to eat. Hurry up, all this fresh air and activity makes for a hungry fellow.

Since it wasn't dinner time they left a few chocolates on the table for me to hunt down. They were yummy and good for my stunning figure.

After rapidly finishing off my snack I grabbed the iPod and mellowed out to some cool tunes much to the relief of my handlers.

After a while New Big Friend and I had time to kick back and relax while waiting for dinner...come on Girly, chop chop with the grub.

After dinner New Big Friend showed me where we are kayaking tomorrow. Too bad Girly is coming with us, it'll spoil this manly bonding activity.

The next morning before everybody was up I wanted to have a better look at were we were going.

I poured over the map just to be sure.

Still no one's up yet! Do they think they are on vacation or something? So...being me, and that's hard to avoid, I took the car for a spin to check out some launch locations for the kayaks.

I parked the car somewhere to take a look around but forgot were I left it. Lucky for me I found my way back to the cabin where I woke up New Big Friend and made him go out and find it. Apparently I'd parked it on a big rock in the bush...oops.

After some finger shaking and threatening gestures in my direction we managed to get going. I ended up having to paddle with Girly since New Big Friend was mad at me...that's him up ahead.

We stopped for lunch at this rocky place...

...which we shared with this lovely snake. Hummm, I wonder if he's poisonous? Maybe I could put him in Girly's kayak.

We paddled all day and checked out some pretty cool spots. I was still stuck on Girly's kayak, so much for male bonding. We spent the rest of our vacation paddling around and relaxing at our cabin.

All good things shouldn't come to an end but here goes our relaxed state of mind as we head home a few days later...urg!

The city was redoing the sidewalk in front of Girly's house and had just poured some new concrete. They did a lovely job troweling and smoothing the surface creating a perfect canvas for me to doodle on. I was just putting the last stroke on my name when the contractors came back to check on their work. They spotted me instantly and I ran off into the house leaving Girly to placate the irrate workers. (She was working in the front garden and didn't see me doing this, ha, ha!) Too bad for them because the concrete had finished setting and my name was immortalized.

I'm away with my humans again staying at a little B&B called Rose Cottage in Picton. Being the curious little fellow that I am, I rummaged around and checked into everything I could reach. My human handler, New Big Friend, seen here, informed me we would be doing some extreme sports today. What's that? Funny humans!

Not knowing what to wear, I put on my stout boots and dashing cap then settled myself in for breakfast. Come on, chop chop with the grub, there's a hungry fellow here.

I needed to kill some time waiting for the humans to finish eating, so I entertained myself with a small human who was staying here. I tried to get her to move over and share her cool rocker but she was not compliant.

So I put on my best funny face to distract her...

...but I only ended up making her cry. I quickly departed in order to escape the glares of the still eating humans.

Finally we get out of the house and into the countryside. My human handlers have decided to go rock climbing and insist I come with them. I don't think so, look at that, it's straight up.

I protested and refused to budge. There's nothing that can make me move from here.

Those cunning humans, they planted a bag of chocolates up the cliff knowing I can't resist them. So up I clamber...urg...I better not get my mittens dirty!

Extreme Putty on the cliff face, watch out below rocks will be falling. Ha, ha, look at them scurry out of the way.

Ah ha, I've reached the bag of chocolates, this is where I stop...and of course, gobble down some delicious goodies. Yum!

After an exhilarating day on death defying climbing, dropping rocks on my humans and feeling rather well rounded from eating my favourite food, I was ready for dinner. Come on with the food, what's with the service around here.

After dinner New Big Friend and I take a late night stroll down to the river to check out what's going on. Humm, apparently nothing.

So we headed back and fell asleep on the couch watching TV. Oh the life of an extreme adventurer.

Mr Putty Pants On The Loose

In June, my humans and I went on a road trip to Prince Edward County. I stopped to admire the lilacs blooming at the side of the road. That's me, the handsome fellow on the fence.

Not content with viewing from a distance, I managed to clamber up a tree and get cozy with the blossems. Yum, smells good.

After falling out of the tree, I needed to gather my wits and relax a bit. Since I bruise like a peach, I decided I'd better be more careful in future. Perhaps I'll take a nice little stroll across this field.

Feeling exhausted from an invigorating march across the field, I came to another fence...urg...I'm tired but managed to struggle over, pricking my bottom on a branch..ouch. Not sure where to go, I decided to follow the fenceline for a bit.

Hey what's this, a gate? I wished I'd seen this before I heaved myself over that darn fence. My bottom still hurts.

Look at all these signs...opps, I guess I'm in BIG trouble, ha, ha! But being a considerate and thoughtful little fellow, I decided to open the gate so everyone could come and go more easily. Time to go and find my humans, I can hear them calling for me somewhere down the road.
