What better way to customize your shiny new iPad than to create your own wallpaper? I’ve provided a PSD template to make sure everything sizes up once that new Photoshopped masterpiece gets onto your portable canvas.

The PSD contains several layers. The ‘iPad’ folder is where the mockup of the iPad & the lockscreen are located. Inside that folder, there’s a ‘Landscape’ & ‘Portrait’ folder. Its best to have these on one at a time so it does’nt get all cluttered on screen. The wallpaper should go just under the ‘iPad’ folder. The layer beneath my wallpaper there, is simply there to demonstrate the iPad’s wallpaper layout.

This PSD contains elements of the iPad interface PSD from Teehan + Lax & requires Adobe Photoshop or any other software capable of reading & editing PSD format.

Especially if you’re as addicted to RSS feeds as I am. (I’m following over 100!). Recently, while browsing Google Chrome extensions, I came across one called “Feedsquares”. Curious and bored of the old layout, I clicked “Install”.

Clicking the icon brings you to your google reader visually revamped. Squares are laid out in a grid in what seems to be a hot to cold order. Clicking a square goes deeper into the grid & your feeds to the clicked folder scroll across the bottom. Clicking an entry opens a window within the window to view the post. Embedded media loads fast & it also allows you to star the post. Read posts are greyed out & aren’t as visually eye catching as unread posts. This makes for quick ID of new material! The squares are filled with images from the posts or color coded if there are no images. The folders are displayed in a horizontal menu along the top for quick navigation. I’ve been using it for more time than I care to reveal these past few days.

As if that was’nt enough, Feedsquares is also available for Android phones as well. On top of that, its the fastest ( & most appealing ) RSS reader on Android & integrates with your Google Reader account so no need to add the feeds again, or re-read stories already read.
