Sure

Most of the so-called effective drugs for the treatment of lower or upper back pain have a contingent of side effects ready with them. If you are told about the name and the nature of the after effects in advance, you may freeze with horror. And perhaps will never take these drugs on own without consulting a specialist.

On the contrary, the natural and therapeutic therapies such as Acupressure and Massage therapy are the recommended options for seeking back pain relief. Well, these therapies offer you the cure, and cure only, without bothering you further about the side effects.

Acupressure is an ancient therapy which is reported to have a successful history of 5000 years behind it. If any line of treatment has withstood the test of time over such a long period, the system must surely give you good results. And this trust has been confirmed by the recent research findings as well.

The article published in the British Medical Journal has confirmed the efficacy of the acupressure treatment, especially for the lower back pain treatment. Thus the benefits of Acupressure for back pain relief are scientifically established!

The main highlight of the acupressure treatment is the fact that its results are long lasting with no possibility of side effects. It has shown better results as compared to other therapies. After six sessions of acupressure treatment, patients have reported immediate improvements in the pain situation.

Just masking and suppressing the symptoms of pain is no treatment. Most of the over the counter and prescription medications focus on treating symptoms of pain to treat the back pain. This directly invites the lurking danger of side effects such as liver and kidney failure, bleeding gut and cardiac dysfunction.

When the energy flow is blocked within the body, when the metabolism is not proper, illness is the result. Stress and injury are often the cause of these energy disruptions. Acupressure works on highly scientific lines. Pressure on certain specified points, makes the brain to release endorphins, which plays an important role in pain relief, stress reduction, immune function and slowing the aging process.

The end purposes of the acupressure and acupuncture treatment are one and the same. Both concern the same acupoints. But the vital difference in the mode of treatments is that no needles are used in acupressure. The pressure is mostly applied with fingertips on the relevant acupressure points on your skin.

So, acupressure is the most trusted therapy for back pain relief. It delivers the results, the good ones indeed to cure your back pain!

Ashish Jain

http://www.backpaindetails.com/pain/ & Back Pain Treatment website provides detailed information on back pain, back pain treatment, back pain cure and more.

Acupressure will not create any type of headache because this process of treatment is without any side effects. It is friendly to your body mechanism from all the counts.

The procedure for treating the headache through the procedure of acupressure is to convert the simple domestic procedure into a medical skill. Modern technology has come to the assistance of this massage and acupressure therapy with soft music, the agreeable lighting system, and electrical gadgets. It is experience and expertise combined together.

Massage of various parts of your body is the natural outcome that has been in vogue to treat some of the ailments. What exactly happens when you rub any part of your body? The inflamed muscles get relief. Extending the procedure further, the massage technique is also used to heal injuries to cure stiffness of joints, relieve stress and relieve the headache consequently.

Just the prick of a small thorn on the little finger, and the whole body responds with the sensation of pain. The acupressure system works on this principle and hence succeeds in achieving tangible results. The entire body is one unit according to acupressure. If you have headache, the acupressure therapist massages your lower back. At the end of the massage session, you will find remarkable relief for your headache.

Now, come to the second important part of the human mechanism, the network of nervous system and the system situated on the palms and the feet. The related points of each body part are intelligently connected to these parts of the body and the acupressure treatment here gets you relief at the levels required.

So, your headache is not the exclusive property of your head. The whole body owns it. Your weak muscles could also be the cause of your headache and acupressure therapist can pinpoint and treat it. Your modern lifestyle results in the accumulation of toxic chemicals in the blood vessels and other parts of your body. The versatile acupressure therapist recognizes the changes in the relevant point on your palm and treats you accordingly.

Well, with some knowledge of theory related to acupressure along with some practical experiences you can self-treat your headache and other minor ailments. In case of serious headaches, consult the acupressure specialist only.

Ashish Jain

http://www.headacheupdates.com/migraine/ & Headache Relief provides detailed information on headache, natural headache relief, headache treatment and more.

Every living being has a life force, or energy, called qi or chi (pronounced "chee"). When this energy, which runs along meridians, is in balance and flowing freely, the body is in a state of health. Acupoints tap into the the major energy pathways of the body

When this energy is blocked or deficient, illness can result. These energy disruptions are often the result of stress or injury. It is believed that acupressure causes the brain to release endorphins. Endorphins play an important role in immune function, pain relief, stress reduction, and slowing the aging process.

Lower back pain has long been the bain of the modern world not only in lost man hours but also because of the numerous side effects, complications and nuances of lower back pain complaints. Further studies now confirm the benefits of acupressure over physical therapy. Albeit that the studies failed to take into account functional status and disability as recommended by most low back pain researchers the results are still very meaningful and relevant. In February 2006 a randomized controlled trial took place at The National Taiwan University in Taipei.

129 patients with chronic low back pain received acupressure or physical therapy for 1 month. Primary endpoints were self-administered Chinese versions of standard outcome measures for low back pain (Roland and Morris disability questionnaire) at baseline, after treatment, and at 6-month follow-up. After treatment, the mean total Roland and Morris disability questionnaire score was significantly lower in the acupressure group than in the physical therapy group regardless of the difference in absolute score or mean change from baseline.

Compared with physical therapy, acupressure was associated with an 89% reduction in significant disability and that improvement was maintained at 6-month follow-up. Study limitations include a confounding psychological effect of therapy; loss of 15.5% of patients to follow-up at 6 months and effectiveness of any manipulation therapy dependent on the therapist's technique and experience.

Participants were aged 18 to 81 years. Exclusion criteria were pregnancy and contraindication to acupressure. 64 patients were randomized to acupressure and 65 to physical therapy. Conclusive or inconclusive the results still point towards the undeniable and positive aspects of acupressure and holistic healing.

On a more lighter note Acupressure has also been cited as a new aid for sleepy students. 39 student volunteers found that those who were taught to self-administer acupressure to stimulation points on their legs, feet, hands and heads were less likely to drowse during class. The acupressure consisted of light tapping of fingers or using thumbs or forefingers to lightly massage the stimulation points. It was conceded that more study is needed in relation to acupressure and the effect on human alertness.

Looking further into the positives might this self administered acupressure also be a consideration for children with ADHD contra Ritalin!

Martyn Witt

Martyn Witt is the owner of Holistic Works which is a premier resource for holistic and wellness information. for more information, go to http://www.holisticworks.net

It originated in China many years ago and is also used in Japan where it is called shiatsu. It was once used in Great Britain to treat headaches prior to the discovery of aspirin.

The theory of acupressure is based on the Chinese belief that all living things contain a vital energy, which is known as chi. Within the body are invisible paths called meridians that connect all the parts of our body. The chi flows along these paths. There are various points located on the paths, which can be stimulated to relieve pain. The points are named such as Large Intestine 4, Liver 3, and Stomach 36.

For example, Large Intestine 4 is a point located in the web of skin between the thumb and first finger. You can effect headache pain relief by applying pressure to and massaging this point in the direction of the index finger. But if the headache were a migraine, then you would apply the pressure to Colon 4 and Liver 3.

Liver 3 is located between the big toe and second toe in the back of the webbing. Massaging this point will also help relieve stress.

Unlike other massage therapies, acupressure uses no oils or equipment so it is simple to do. There are trained acupuncturists who administer acupressure but you can also learn to do it yourself. However, self-administered acupressure may not be as enjoyable as having someone else do it.

To perform acupressure, you use your thumb, finger or knuckle to apply pressure to a point. The pressure applied should be firm but not painful. The point should be massaged from five to fifteen minutes until the pain subsides. But be careful not to over-stimulate the point, as this will make the pain worse.

The challenge in self-administered acupressure is the correct location of the points. There are many books that have charts of the meridians and points together with complete directions. There are also charts available at various sites on the net.

However, these points are only .5mm in diameter so there isn't much of a margin for error. If you are not feeling any benefit after applying the technique it is probably because you haven't properly located the point. Therefore, you might want to schedule one or two visits to an acupuncturist to have them teach you the technique.

Acupressure has no significant side effects. The points may feel a little sore after a session and some people may experience a temporary feeling of lightheadedness.

Women who are pregnant should not use acupressure without the approval of their doctor. And even with a doctor's approval, they should not self-administer but need to consult a trained acupuncturist. Some of the points are dangerous for pregnant women.

Acupressure should not be applied over any area that is bruised or swollen. It also shouldn't be done over varicose veins.

People who have circulatory problems, osteoporosis, any type of bleeding disorder, a recent fracture or who are using blood thinning medication should only have acupressure administered by a qualified therapist.

Acupressure has been found to be helpful in treating nausea, motion sickness, headaches, muscle tension and stress.

Brenda Williams

Drug Addiction TrendsDrug Abuse Trends

You feel that nothing seems to help you with your pain. Perhaps you should try the Acupressure Chiropractor Service. A chiropractor will consider the proper functioning of the spine is one of the most important things to have a balanced energy flow. The acupressure chiropractor service is actually a combination of two different types of treatment. The professionals will work on different areas called meridians. When different meridians cross each other up and one of them gets blocked, it results in an alignment problem. Acupressure involves the use of hands to provide the healing.

Acupressure Chiropractor Service - a detailed study

Acupressure should not be confused with acupuncture because they are two different alternative approaches. Acupuncture uses very thin needles whereas acupressure involves the use of hands and/or fingers to balance the energy flow and bring about healing. Acupuncture first came into being in China. Acupressure provides wholesome healing which basically means it looks into all problematic areas of the body. As the result, acupressure chiropractor service provides a complete healing to the patient.

Both of these treatments are considered natural healing methods. They're very different compared to the modern medicine approach. This method is not a quick fix to the problem but believes in eradicating the source that caused the problem in the first place. The treatment is based on the fact that all resistance in the body has a direct link with the muscular and skeletal system, specifically the spine. Any imbalance in this system will lead to pain and other physical ailments. The chiropractor will work on the spinal column manually to rectify the problems. Both acupressure and acupuncture work on a deeper level. The biggest benefit of an acupressure chiropractor service is that provides a holistic treatment.

The professional will closely observe the underlying causes of a problem. The specialist will talk about your diet, your emotional stress, etc. and may suggest some herbal remedies too. Acupressure balances the energy level in the body and their flow as well. Many people would have tried the chiropractic treatments have felt better within a couple of sessions. Proving that the natural approach is one of the best options to take when trying to get rid of your diseases.

Sadly, today's medical system depends almost solely on the use of drugs and having an alignment means having to pop all those dreaded pills. These types of heavy drugs are meant to provide only a quick fix to a problem and can have a lot of negative side effects over the long run. Naturally humane methods can ensure your complete well being without having any long-term negative side effects. And in most cases, a natural therapy is a lot more affordable than those expensive medical treatments and pills.

Do yourself a favor and find yourself a quality professional chiropractor to receive holistic, natural health care. This will save you a lot of time and energy instead of running around between the two ends. Using an acupressure chiropractor service will be a great investment for you and your overall health and well-being.

Kerry Ng

Kerry Ng is a successful Webmaster and publisher of The The Chiropractor Info Blog. Acupressure does not involve needles, but instead uses the application of pressure to the pressure points in the body to promote healing.

The pressure points used in acupressure are points in the body that correspond to different parts of the body. These pressure points are also seen as energy points where the basic energy of the universe works within the body. In Chinese this energy is referred to as chi.

The idea of basic acupressure is to balance the chi in the body to help promote health. It is believed that when the chi in the body is balanced and flowing smoothly that a person is healthy and in good condition. If the chi is not balanced or flowing smoothly then that is seen as the reason behind illness and bad health.

A scientific reasoning for how acupressure works is that the stimulation of pressure points releases endogenous opioid analgesics that naturally work to alleviate pain. However, traditional science does not back acupressure’s effectiveness nor recognize it as a viable treatment method.

Some studies have shown the effectiveness of acupressure on certain areas of the body and in certain treatments. It has been found that acupressure treatments for nausea seem to be effect as well as treatments for lower back pain.

Acupressure involves the practioner to be well experienced and knowledgeable about the pressure points in the body. There are numerous pressure points. The practioner needs to understand the way each pressure point relates to the other areas of the body. The amount of pressure applied is also important in administering acupressure treatments.

Acupressure is more than simply pressing on some areas of the body. It is a very well defined area of treatment. Practioners study for many years and practice the techniques to become skilled enough to provide effective acupressure treatments.

Many people choose to use acupressure over acupuncture due to the fact that acupressure does not use needles. The fear of needles is a main reason why many people avoid acupuncture but then easily take to acupressure.

The non-evasive feature of acupressure has helped it to become more mainstream. It was once a strict Chinese method of alternative health treatment, but today it is possible to find acupressure practioners all over the world. That makes it quite easy for anyone, anywhere to get the benefits acupressure has to offer.

Kimarie Hazelbaker

Kimarie Hazelbaker, PhD, is an award-winning speaker, teacher, medical intuitive and hypnotherapist. Acupressure for the face is a new approach that has come on the scene and is worth discussing.

Time takes a toll on our bodies, particularly our faces. There is just no hiding the damage of the sun, wrinkles and so on. Many people look to surgical lifts for a solution. Others, however, are nervous about the invasive nature of the surgery, possible side effects or the cost. A possible alternative for those not needing intensive repair is acupressure.

The results that you will get from an acupressure session are not going to be as dramatic or long lasting as those from traditional surgical options. Acupressure procedures are meant to be a holistic, massage-oriented alternative to having surgery, but are not to be considered on the same level. Acupressure is an ancient Chinese art of applying pressure to specific points on your body. This is believed to allow more blood and energy flow to the area that is pressed, which can correspond to other areas of the body. The results of acupressure have been seen for centuries by those practicing this craft.

Facial acupressure takes advantage of pressing these points on the face, and therefore allowing additional blood and oxygen to flow to these areas. This tightens the areas that are being massaged and pressed, leaving the client with a relaxed, youthful look. The facial area is massaged and stimulated with light pressure, which not only improves the facial circulation, but also helps to clean the facial lymph system. This technique also stimulates the underlying collagen of the face, which allows it to loosen and possibly regenerate faster, making the youthful look you get from the acupressure last.

Having an acupressure facial is not considered a medical procedure, but it is a certified practice by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. It is considered to be more intensive than a traditional facial which is commonly performed by a cosmetician. Some massage therapists will recommend more than one acupressure session to achieve full results, and you will want to consult with your therapist for the best course of action for your face.

Facial procedures are more and more common these days, but there are non-surgical options if you are not ready for the knife just yet. An acupressure session can give you a more youthful glow without surgery or any side effects. You also get the bonus of the relaxing technique of acupressure. It is a 5000 years old Chinese healing method used to cure many common problems. Traditional Chinese medicines view health as the constantly changing flow of vital energy throughout the body. If that flow is affected, it causes illness.

The goal of acupressure is to release the blocked energy and to maintain the proper flow by simulating specific points. These points are called acupoints. Flow of proper energy through the affected body part that is feeling discomfort, enables it to heal itself readily. Energy is not a stagnant thing, and if found stagnant it affects the whole balance, strength, and equilibrium of the body. This is understood in acupressure and therefore the therapy insists and works by finding the energy pockets that are stagnated and distributes it all over the body to give the body a new lease of life.

A treatment last from 15 minutes to an hour depending upon the conditions. Patient has to sit or lie on the massage table during this treatment. The therapist will then locate the acupoints related to the problem and work on that. For example pressing a point on top of the foot may cause the relief in migraine. Each acupoint is pressed for 3 to 10 seconds. The points are pressed and released repeatedly which removes the blockage in energy flow. After the treatment patient feels relaxed but he should not feel pain. Within three to eight hours he will come to know whether treatment is working or not.

There are different types of acupressure. Each practitioner can use different kind of technique like Japanese or Chinese. Patient should choose a therapist with whom he/she is comfortable as it includes massage. It’s better to have a phone conversation with that person before visiting. Once learned, it can be performed on oneself or friend. The acupressure therapy could be done by an individual but there are limitations and warning signs, mainly the points to be noted are, never press any open wound, swollen or inflamed skin, a bruise, surgery scar, or a broken bone and never ever use an area having tumor and for sure the pressure should not be applied directly over lymph nodes and finally, certain points should be avoided during pregnancy.

Sharon Hopkins

Sharon Hopkins is webmaster of sites related to Massage Therapy and Aromatherapy, which provide invaluable information to rejuvenate the mind and body and eliminate stress scientifically.

It was discovered that the derma roller actions were based on the concept of ancient oriental acupuncture. The results were a reduction of the appearance of wrinkles, lines, black heads, and white heads. The derma roller is also proven to remove stretch marks and is one of the best ways for removing acne scars.

The benefits of the roller acupuncture facial are compared to results from laser therapy, chemical peels, and microdermabrasion. While each individual might get slightly different results, everyone experiences some positive benefits from the derma roller facial.

And, the best part using the roller is much less invasive with less risks and complications than the other anti-aging treatments listed above and is much cheaper. This type of acupuncture facial can be done at home, for just pennies a session.

How does it work? The roller has 192 micro-points that opens the pores of the skin which sets off the natural healing process thus causing extra collagen to be produced - up to 1000% more. Another benefit is the maximum absorption of your best face cream if applied right after a session. Studies show that creams are up to 40 times more than without the roller.

What's even better is the derma roller is guaranteed and is FDA approved for skin rejuvenation, as a scar remover, and for stretch mark treatment. You can see the Rachael Ray interview with a leading dermatologist at the link below.

Linda Robsion

See the Rachael Ray Show Clip here.

For more great information and tips on how to tighten and lift the skin, reduce pore size, improve skin tone, and regain the youthful contours of the face -- all done in your own home. He was taken to a hospital and diagnosed with appendicitis. Shortly after, Reston underwent surgery and his appendix was removed, setting off a chain of events that is responsible for the mushrooming interest and acceptance of acupuncture and Chinese medicine in the United States.

Certainly, Chinese medicine wasn't new to the United States in 1971. With the influx of Chinese immigrants who helped build our railroads and worked in the gold fields, Chinese medicine followed. However, it was delegated to the back rooms of China towns in cities across the nation and thought of as something akin to voodoo-that is until James Reston's appendix heated up.

James Reston was a reporter for the New York Times in 1971. He was in China in advance of Dr. Henry Kissinger's famous trip, which would occur a few weeks later. When Reston got sick, he received typical Western-style care in the form of immediate surgery to remove his appendix. However, what happened after surgery are the events that sealed the fate of Chinese medicine in the West. During his recuperation, Reston experienced a great deal of post-operative pain. Rather than immediately giving him standard pain killers, the Chinese doctors performed acupuncture to relieve his pain. To Reston's astonishment, the acupuncture worked!

Reston came home and wrote an article about his experience with acupuncture in the New York Times. Reston who was also an acquaintance of Dr. Kissinger, told Kissinger about his encounter with acupuncture, and Kissinger passed the story on to President Nixon. The President was so impressed with the story that he instituted a program in which traditional Chinese doctors came to the United States to share their medicine, and American doctors were sent to China for the same purpose. In the years following, Chinese medicine in the United States began to take off.

When people say that President Nixon is responsible for the acceptance of Chinese medicine in the United States, it's true. However, the source of the story begins with an inflamed appendix.

Lynn Jaffee

Lynn Jaffee is a licensed acupuncturist in practice at Acupuncture in the Park in Minneapolis, MN. Just the other day, my mother called to tell me "Oprah's talking about acupuncture on her show today!" Despite Oprah's coverage, the questions I hear over and over again about acupuncture tell me that what I do for a living is still not well-understood by everyone. When I was asked to write an article for a local newspaper about acupuncture, I decided that busting common myths about acupuncture would be a good place to start.

Myth #1: Acupuncture needles hurt!

Compared with the needles used to take blood or deliver medicine, acupuncture needles are many times thinner, solid rather than hollow, flexible rather than rigid and rounded at the tip. An acupuncture needle is inserted quickly through the skin's surface until you feel tingling, warmth or pressure in the area of the needle. After a few minutes, these sensations fade away and you are left feeling sleepy and deeply relaxed.

Myth #2: Acupuncture only works if you believe in it.

While keeping a positive attitude will probably help you get well, how and why acupuncture works is not so simple. According to the National Institutes for Health (NIH), studies have shown that acupuncture seems to affect the body's immune reactions, blood pressure regulation, blood flow and temperature, and may aid the activity of endorphins (the body's own painkilling chemicals) and immune cells "at specific sites in the body". While most clinical studies on acupuncture do note that even "sham acupuncture" (in which an needle is not inserted or not inserted into a non-acupuncture point) seems to have a small therapeutic effect on the body, study participants who receive "real" acupuncture treatment consistently do better than those in the control group or those receiving conventional treatment.

Myth #3: Acupuncture is only good for treating pain.

It is true that pain responds very well to acupuncture. Low back pain, sciatica, neck pain, shoulder pain, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, headaches and other kinds of pain may all be treated successfully with acupuncture. But because the aim of acupuncture is to bring balance and harmony to the whole person, it can also be an excellent treatment for insomnia, fatigue, digestive problems, menopause, menstrual disorders, infertility, MS, Lupus, and a supportive treatment for patients with cancer, Hepatitis or HIV.

Myth #4: Acupuncturists aren't licensed medical professionals.

This may have been true 35 years ago when acupuncture first became available in the U.S., but today acupuncture is a licensed, regulated profession. A Google search of "acupuncture in hospitals" reveals acupuncturists on staff at a number of hospitals across the country. To be licensed in most states, acupuncturists must complete a 3 to 4-year graduate program in acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and pass a series of national certification exams. Like other professionals, to maintain our licensure, we must add to our knowledge with continuing education, maintain national board certification and adhere to a strict code of medical ethics.

Myth #5: My insurance won't cover acupuncture, so I can't afford to try it.

Don't be so sure about that! Where I practice, there has been a sudden increase in coverage for acupuncture treatment and there is currently a bill in congress (HR646) that would allow acupuncture to be covered by Medicare. Many acupuncturists offer discounts for seniors, students or for multiple treatments purchased at once. Community Acupuncture, a traditional style of acupuncture treatment that allows patients to receive simple treatments alongside other patients (fully clothed, of course) at a very low cost, $15-$40 per visit.

Christina Wolf

An acupuncture chart will accurately show the location of the14 primary meridians as well as some of the extra points. Most acupuncture charts also show the names and locations of meridian and acupoints on lateral sides of the human body. Normally, they also have the international standard nomenclature and alphanumeric codes.

Some acupuncture charts come in sets that may be further divided into smaller sets that show the acupoints on the whole body surface (i.e. the back, neck, front, back and lateral sides of the human body, as well as the trunk of the body and other parts of the anatomy contained in different layers). There are also charts that show the upper limbs. Other acupuncture charts will show the entire human anatomy while others simply show regions of the human anatomy.

The acupuncture chart first became prevalent during the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644) when the Chinese first printed vernacular literature in great numbers. However, over the ensuing hundreds of years they have become increasingly well known. Acupuncture charts appeared in manuals dealing with Chinese medicine and the purpose was both to instruct and identify the proper location of the acupoints. In addition to the reasons just given acupuncture charts were maintained for Chinese medicine which included reflexology, moxibution, massage and a number of other specialties.

Illustrations Aid in Understanding

Acupuncture charts don't explain how to needle the body but rather are diagrams that show the path of channels or meridian conduits as well as the location of acupuncture points. Because there are a great deal of acupuncture points, the acupuncture charts can only display a fraction of the channels and acupuncture points which are being discussed in the text of the chart. As a result, many acupuncture charts correspond with the specific body part, body function or disorder that needs to be treated.

A few common acupuncture charts are for the ear, foot, head and stomach. Other charts also describe healing methods of hot and cold diseases as well as other ailments.

The bottom line with acupuncture charts is that their primary function is to serve as a visual enhancement to the text and they are not intended to stand alone.

Tip - For more information on Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, check out the links below.

Brian Winkels

Visit traditional chinese medicine or chinese herb or oriental medicine for more information on acupuncture.

With the advancement of medicine, many side effects are becoming more complicated to even think about let alone treating them. With increasing use of poor diets and bad exercise programs, if any, people are grappling with chronic and moderate sicknesses that can solely be blamed on lifestyle and use of ineffective medications. People have sought tablet solutions to weight loss, breaking certain norms and the result is increase in health problems, not just physically but mentally. Acupuncture is a Chinese healing method that started in the Ming dynasty and spread to many parts of the world becoming very popular healing method.

An Acupuncture chart is one of the greatest tools used in the reputable world of Chinese medicine. Most people recognize acupuncture by observing needles being stuck on parts of the body. Acupuncture chart is more than this. The Chinese believed that the body had points of energy flow and that other points are more crucial to target to balance the energy in the body. These points are called acupuncture points. These are the points to target and an acupuncture chart describes them. Due to the very many acupuncture points, an acupuncture chart can only describe the most vital points of the body. They provide a visual guide to people on where the procedure should be performed.

Therefore, an acupuncture chart is a diagram that acts as a guide to achieve the intended intention which is to heal. Once one has decided to go for it, the doctor or attendant must first take the medical history of the client and establish whether they have a history of allergies and other related ailments. Then it will be easier to know the focus points that need to be worked on. It has been recorded that this therapy relieves chronic pains in the body and some report that they have been totally cured of the disease. The reason acupuncture has gained so much popularity is because people have come to realize and appreciate its healing properties. The number of acupuncture points cannot be mentioned one by one but, some of them can be classified.

Transporting points also known as command points, are acupuncture points that are located around the fingers, elbows, knees and feet. They consist of more than 12 locations. Connecting points are said to connect and allow blood circulation in the body tissues. Alarm points are located in the abdomen, chest and other major points in the bast area. It has been documented that some people underwent this form of therapy as a sole anesthesia while they underwent major surgeries. Acupuncture is deeply rooted in tested traditions and has proved itself by standing the test of time. Apart from being adapted in our todays complex world, acupuncture charts will continue to guide us on the path of healing. The treatment ends on a relaxed note while others notice immediate results. Usually a good rub of the muscles ends a session while others feel the results afterwards. If you are one of those people the problem is that you may not be addressing the smoking problem from the best viewpoint. There are really three different fronts in the war on smoking. First, you’ve got to deal with the physical addiction of nicotine. Despite the fact that nicotine is an extremely addictive chemical substance, there are actually some good ways to fight on this front. Most people are familiar with the nicotine patches, gums, and sprays. The basic idea of all of these alternatives is that you replace the nicotine in cigarettes and gradually cut down the amount of nicotine that you consume. As far as your physical health goes, this is really a great alternative because the nicotine substitutes do allow you to stop ingesting the hundreds of harmful chemicals in cigarettes. So, even if it takes you a long time to reduce your nicotine intake you are actually taking a more healthy approach to life. One word of caution about these substitutes is that you should consult with a physician if you are a woman who is either pregnant or breast feeding. An alternative substitute is niacinamide because it has chemical similarities to nicotine. It can be helpful in addition to nicotine substitutes or after discontinuing the use of the substitutes. Niacinamide is the amide of niacin as is known by the common name vitamin B3. Go to a certified nutritionist to determine the proper dose to take.

However, many people start smoking again even though they have tried using the nicotine substitute and/or niacinamide products. So there must be another factor involved in smoking. These factors are psychological and habitual. Basically, it’s the reinforcement that you get by lighting up a cigarette after a meal or during other periods of enjoyment or stress. It’s that “this is a good thing” feeling that gets implanted into your subconscious mind. And therein lies the problem. The struggle is at the subconscious level, Your brain says, “I shouldn’t be doing this.” At the same time the subconscious says that you need to do it, and, in this battle the subconscious wins.

A lot of smokers describe a calming effect that they receive from smoking. That is one of the reasons that the nicotine substitutes by themselves are not so effective. There is an extremely effective protocol for dealing with all types of addiction that has been developed by the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA). This protocol has been extremely effective when used for heroin, cocaine, alcohol, and other addictions, and it is extremely effective for smoking addiction. It involves the use of acupuncture needles in five locations in each ear. The five locations are derived from classical Chinese Medicine theory for the treatment of addiction and involve reinforcing the energy in the lungs, liver, and heart, as well as calming spirit. A skilled NADA certified acupuncturist can insert the acupuncture needles painlessly. Then you just sit and relax for about twenty minutes. This treatment may need to be repeated a few times a week depending on the severity of your smoking addiction. People with addictions report that they feel better both physically and mental after being treated with the NADA protocol. In addition, they report a feeling of calmness that replaces the need for the addictive behavior. You can find a certified NADA practitioner in your area by contacting NADA directly at (360) 245-0186 or NADAOffice@acudetox.com.

The greatest results with the NADA protocol are achieved in conjunction with counseling programs. Ultimately this counseling is directed at the struggle with the sub-conscious mind. This brings up the Law of Attraction. You may be familiar with this term from the movie, “The Secret.” Wikipedia characterizes this as “if you really want something and truly believe it’s possible, you’ll get it.” This really is a mischaracterization of the Law of Attraction as originally taught in 1913 by Charles F. Haanel in his Master Key System. This system is a 24 week course that teaches you how to make the Law of Attraction work for you in your life. Essentially the course teaches that things manifest in your life through the incredible power of the subconscious mind. The conscious mind is the tool for directing the action of the subconscious mind, and one of its most powerful tools is visualization. This is easy to say, but far less easy to implement. The real power of The Master Key System is that during the 24 lessons, one per week, you incorporate the full training into your subconscious mind. You really do learn to direct the subconscious mind.

In the smoker’s battle there are some tools that attempt to deal with the subconscious like hypnosis and audio CDs. Sometimes they work, but often they don’t. What could be better than a tool that teaches you to effectively direct your subconscious mind? That is The Master Key System. For it to work, though, you’ve got to do it, and that means reading about ten pages of text for five days each week and doing a few minutes of exercises. At the end of the week you answer ten questions about that lesson and then get the next lesson. That continues for 24 total weeks, and that’s what makes it really work. There are many versions of The Master Key System on the internet. Be sure you get one that follows the one lesson per week format taught by Charles F. Haanel. If you just get all the lessons and read them, you won’t get much benefit. Be patient. An old Chinese proverb says, “In hurrying there are no sure steps.” Remember that you goal is to give up smoking forever. By the way, you will see that The Master Key System will change your whole life for the better.

So, by combining nicotine substitutes, niacinamide, the NADA protocol, and The Master Key System you will have the tools you need to effectively beat the smoking habit and make positive changes in your life.

Ron Morefield

Yes! Acupuncture is the answer to all your back pain worries. More and more people now a days are depending upon the alternative treatments for curing back pain. Even various physicians and health care professionals are advising their patients to take benefits from the acupuncture treatment and get relief from back pain.

Acupuncture has been used since thousands of year to cure and treat various diseases and disorders. There are many success stories related to treatment of back pain with acupuncture. Since it does not employ the use of any external medication, many people find it an easy and affordable mean of cure.

The treatment of acupuncture runs on a simple theory. We have two thousand energy points on our body. These points are connected with the twenty pathways or the meridians. Wherein, conduction of the chi or qi life forces take place. If any one of the pathways are blocked, back pain comes into play.

Acupuncture treatment involves the clearing of the above mentioned path for the proper conduction of the life forces. The process of acupuncture involves the insertion of anywhere between one to twenty needles into the human body. The number of the needles to be inserted depends on the age, sex and magnitude of pain to the patient.

Besides this, there are different ways of inserting the needles in the body. Some of them are made to rest on the skin surface, while the others are inserted into the skin. The depth of the needles range from one inch to several inches. These needles are then left stationary for about thirty minutes. The needles may be sometimes rotated, depending upon the type of treatment. This is done to free the energy that is blocked in the body. At certain times, the needles, before inserting are warmed or charged electrically to facilitate the process properly.

Apart from this, some acupuncturist also use the method of moxibustion (heat therapy). It is a process in which small amounts of herbs are burnt at the need of the needles to be inserted. These herbs help in encouraging the negative energyb to go away from the body.

Ashish Jain

The author writes about a number of different topics.
