Hey everyone! I appologize for not keeping up with the Amazing Race this past season. As some of you know (those of you who follow my big brother blog), I got married this past June, then we bought a house in Sept., moved in October, and adopted a Golden Retriever puppy...which is like having a baby on paws. ;-) lol

I've been so busy that I didn't even have the chance to tell ya'll that I had to give up blogging (Survivor and Amazing Race) this past year.

With that being said, I think I will stick with Big Brother blogging (July-Sept) every year. If I ever get the urge to blog about Amazing Race, you can bet your bottom dollar that I will come back here!

Hey everyone!! :-D Just a quick note to let ya'll know that I will be blogging again starting Monday November 10th (the day after Amazing Race is on). Episode #4

Hey everyone! As ya'll know, I'm in the process of moving and blogging about Amazing Race (and Survivor) has become too much for me to take on for the next couple of weeks. I'll have to wait until we're settled in our new house before picking up blogging again. :(

Episode #3:

The beginning of Episode 3 showed a bit of a tiff between Starr and Christy. Christy is blaming Starr for throwing (or bumping) Christy's sports bra off of a ledge. Starr didn't.

Since Ken & Tina were 1st to arrive at the last pit stop, they were first to depart at 12:51am.

All teams have to fly to La Paz, Bolivia which is 12,000 feet above sea level and could leave them all breathless..literally.

Once they land, they have to make their way to this statue:

Then they have to go through the morning news paper and look for a classified ad for their next clue.

Ken & Tina said that they have communication problems and they need to stop pushing each others' buttons.

After the teams landed in La Paz, Nick & Starr were in 1st place. Mark & Bill were in 2nd.

The teams arrived late at night and had to camp out in the public with blankets. In the morning, the ladies were putting on makeup and Nick went over to Christy and tried to make peace but the ladies told him they didn't care what people thought about them (like or dislike) and Christy said that she still thinks Starr pushed her sports bra off the edge of their hotel.

As soon as the morning paper arrived, all the teams jumped on them and got a paper. The clue told them to go to a hat shop:

They had to buy a traditional hat in order to get their next clue. Andrew & Dan were first to find the classified ad and go to the hat shop via taxi, except Mark & Bill and Terrence & Sarah..who decided to walk. Mark & Bill had a tough time walking/breathing because of the high altitude.

Andrew & Dan were 1st to arrive to the hat shop.

The clue ended up being a....

DETOUR:

and at the end of the detour is a U-Turn!! (First one this season.) A U-Turn can be used to slow down another team by making that team do BOTH options of the detour. All teams can only use the detour 1 time the entire race.

The clue told all the teams that they had to make their way to one of the detour options BY FOOT ONLY, and some teams didn't read the whole clue and took taxi's!

Terrence tried to tell Sarah that taking a taxi was a huge mistake:

Mark & Bill completed the Detour 1st and decided to NOT use the U-Turn:

The next clue told them to go 8 miles (by taxi) to...

..where they will find their next clue

Next up was a Road Block:

..where 1 team member had to fight a girl! lol They will be taught 6 moves and when they feel that they have learned them all, they have to step inside a ring and fight a girl. The referee will tell them if all 6 moves were completed.

(That's Ken, he was 1st to fight one of the the woman.)

Ken performed all 6 moves successfully, making Ken & Tina the 1st team to get their next clue which told them to go to the pit stop.

1st to arrive was...

Because Mark & Bill took a taxi during the detour, they got hit with a time delay.
They arrived in 8th place and with a 30 minute delay penalty.

Kelly & Christy came in 8th place and were basically saved by Mark & Bill's delay.

The team that was eliminated was...

Mark & Bill

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-(

Ughh!! This season better start switching gears because I can't stand Ken & Tina and now my favorite team was just eliminated.

Episode #2:

Sorry for the delay, everyone! Been busy packing and getting ready to move at the end of the month, so bear with me.

Episode #2:

Since Nick & Starr were 1st to arrive at the last pit stop, they were 1st to leave for the next leg of the race:

All teams had to fly to Fortaleza:

When Ken & Tina got to the airport, there was only 2 seats on 1 plane left and the airline carrier decided to move seats to a bigger plane. Tina took credit for this and made sure that everyone knew and kept telling others (in a joking, but not so joking way) that they all "owe her one". Everyone commented that they don't owe her sh!t. lol :-P

After the plane landed, Terence & Sarah were in 1st place:

..and all teams had to head to Barraca D Manoel. Once there, they had to find a vendor that would give them their next clue.

The clue ended up being a....

DETOUR:

Option 1-Beach it: Physical
Option 2-Docket: Mental

Everybody but Bill & Mark did the Beach It option.

Most of the episode, Terence & Sarah were in 1st place..they were kicking butt and taking names for sure!!

Marisa & Brooke thought that they had to find a "container" after they were done with the Beach It challenge..all because the Docket challenge had the word "container" in it. lol So they started looking by digging in the sand for awhile but eventually gave that up and just got their taxi.

Mark & Bill put their brains to good use and ended up in 1st place after the Detour challenge:

Next up...

ROADBLOCK:

Teams had to find the name of their next destination somewhere on a huge wall of portugese ads. Mark & Bill, again, were in 1st place:

Next, all teams had to make thier way to the pit stop.

The First Team to Arrive:

Ken & Tina

(I think I threw up in my mouth a little when they won. Ughh.)

In 2nd place was Mark & Bill.

The last team to arrive & that was elimated from the race was:

Anthony & Stephanie

I really have no feeling either way on them leaving. They didn't get much camera-time (probably on purpose) so I didn't think either way on them.

At this point, I'm cheering for Mark & Bill. :) I think those 2 truly rock and I believe they will get far in the race.

The next episode will air this Sunday, October 12th. I'll be posting about that episode Monday (so I have pictures to post with my recap). If you like, feel free to come back on Sunday to talk to other Amazing Race fans in the chat room!! :-D

Amazing Race: Episode #1

I wasn't around for Episode #1 so I had to find the episode on YouTube because CBS has like 20 1 min clips and not 1 full clip (why? I have no clue! lol)

Okay, so the teams started off in Los Angeles, California by getting their first clue..

..and had to go to Salvador, Brazil. They had to choose between 2 different flights. When they all got to the airport, Mark & Bill went to the correct American Airlines counter and were first to recieve their boarding passes. Ken & Tina were 2nd.

Nick & Starr and Ken & Tina (aka "Mom & Dad" according to Nick & Starr) decided to form an alliance for the first 2 legs of the race.

The teams that got on the 2nd flight (that lands 3 hours AFTER the 1st flight) are:

Toni & Dallas
Andrew & Dan
Anita & Arthur
Marisa & Brooke
Anthony & Stephanie

When all teams land, they have to take a taxi and find this sandwhich shop:

..and that is where they will all find their next clue!

The 1st flight was delayed so the teams on that flight were only 1 hr 30 mins ahead of the other flight.

When the teams arrive at the sandwich shop, they get a clue saying that they have to pick a vending cart full of candy and go to a popular plaza where they will meet a guy that has their next clue.

Mark & Bill: "This is like driving the worst shopping cart in the world."

It was very hard for each team to navigate the cart without the candy falling off(except Mark & Bill who used their jacket to brace the candy).

And the first team to get their vending cart to the plaza was...

The clue told them to go to a Military Base where they will spend the night in tents. When they arrive, they have to sign-in and that is when they will recieve 1 of 3 departing times.

9:00am Departure:
1st)Terrance & Sarah
2nd) Nick & Starr
3rd) Mark & Bill
4th) Ken & Tina

**At this point, Kelly & Christy still haven't found the sandwhich shop & are in 6th place. Anita & Arthur are in 9th place at this point in the game, with Marisa & Brooke in 10th place.

All teams finally get their vending cart and start to catch up (somewhat). Marisa & Brooke are still in 10th place.

9:30am Departure:
1st) Kelly & Christy
2nd) Andrew & Dan
3rd) Aja & Ty
4th) Andrew & Dan

9:45am Departure:
1st) Toni & Dallas
2nd) Anita & Arthur
3rd) Marisa & Brooke
4th) Anthony & Stephanie

As they depart, they each get a clue telling them to take a taxi to...

..and locate a church that has their next clue.

DETOUR:

Option 1:

Climb up a lot of concrete stairs on their hands & knees and answer correctly a mystery question. If they fail, they will have to do it all over again.

Option 2:

Go to a tall outdoor elevator and climb down a cargo net 240 ft down to the street. Only 3 teams on the cargo net at 1 time. First come, first served!

Everybody did the cargo net, except for Andrew & Dan.

Nick & Starr finished 1st:

From there, they head to the 1st pit stop of the season!

1st Team to Arrive at Pit Stop:

(Anita & Arthur in last place at this point.)

When Andrew & Dan reached the top of the stairs, their mystery question was "How many stairs have you climbed?" and the boys had no idea so they guessed 40 and it was wrong. The correct answer was 53. So the boys climbed back up and counted each step and gave the right answer.

And the first team to be elimated from the Amazing Race Season 13 is..

Anita & Arthur
