"24" May Lose Obama the 2012 Election

I prefer to keep my politics out of my entertainment. Shows like American Dad and whatnot just seem to be a continuation of all the politics and propaganda that is force fed down our throats daily. But 24 is making a compelling argument for our beating the hell out of any suspected terrorist. And they are making it well. As I think back, 24 was always pushing the propaganda that we should use whatever means necessary to get information out of terrorists. But this year has taken it to a whole new level.

For one, they have a woman liberal president, which when they filmed it they probably thought about Hillary Clinton. Not sure when they filmed this puppy, but I'm sure they considered putting her in pants-suits. But anyway, she is saying that we don't torture, and even stopped Bauer from torturing the dude who knew of an attack that was underway. Turns out, had she let Jack continue, they could have prevented about 30 deaths of staffers and Secret Service agents, and now the White House has been taken over by the African terrorists and the Prez herself is a hostage. They even have a Senator who is leading the charge against coerced interrogation.

24 never let the terrorists get this far. They even had a couple attacks with them crashing two airplanes into each other and damn near blowing up a chemical plant. The body count is somewhere around 500 people and the show just got going good. I think if people keep seeing this AND an attack happens on US soil, Obama will probably be impeached, damn the election. Obama's efforts to "save" the economy have sent the Dow BELOW 7000. I can own a share of GE for less money than to buy a GE light bulb. Damn shame. But this terrorist stuff will keep it in people's minds should the Afghan war get worse (which it will). Do you think that Fox with their awesome cache of regular TV shows will keep the propaganda going this hard for another 3 years to eventually get a GOPer back in office? I say yes.

Black History Made on 24

I must blog...

Do not read this message if you have DVR'ed tonight's 24 Episode on FOX and have not seen the episode yet. In addition to 24 making the best case for tossing Barack Obama out of the White House the first chance we get, tonight's episode has been the best moment in TV I've ever seen.

Although I am a capitalist, a fiscal conservative, a Bill Cosbyist, and a sick bastard, I just love some good old fashioned black militancy. Call it the duality of man. And this particular season of 24 is delivering. I have never EVER cheered for the terrorists on 24, until tonight. Throughout 24's existence I have missed all of 5 episodes and I know that they are very multicultural in the nationality of the terrorists: Eastern European, of course Arabs, Mexicans, domestic whites, the government itself, and now Africans from a fictional country. Besides having my favorite bad guy in film and tv (Hakeem Kae-Kazim, in picture) playing a major antagonist, the black African terrorists have made it MUCH FURTHER than any other terrorist in the 24 series.

Tonight, these beautiful black men actually GOT INTO THE WHITE HOUSE, wasted Secret Service agents like crazy, and got a bunch of hostages including staffers, a Senator, the Prez's daughter, and Bill Buchanan. These Nubian kings had all kinds of technology, guns, surveillance, full-proof plans, insider information, probably the most well executed terrorist attack on 24. And it looks like they are in complete control, paying off American traitors with blood diamonds.

And then at the end they not only take the President hostage, General Juma bitch-slapped her Liberal ass and drew blood, and then the show blacked out. I could not have been prouder to be a black man. But these are the images our young black children need to see. Black empowerment. No longer are we the sidekicks and frontmen, being the first guy in the team of terrorists to get gunned down by Jack Bauer when he burst through the door. We are now taking out the damn White House and slapping Presidents. A change gon' come lawd.

Let me say that currently I am reading the book "Roots" by Alex Haley, and I am currently reading a section where the free blacks are telling Chicken George about the various uprisings and revolts by other free blacks, slaves, and Seminoles. I read the book during the commercials, so that may have something to do with my enthusiasm. But the fact that of all the terrorists on 24, the brothas made it to the White House is a watershed moment in television history.

Financial Meltdown is Law of Nature

I know it's been a while since I last posted, but the baby is asleep, so I'm going to give it a shot.

Right now the Presidential race is really fucked up. Polls have Obama winning right now, mostly thanks to the economy. Most Right-wing guys think that McCain had nothing to do with the economic meltdown, yet is being unfairly targeted for it by voters. Problem is, I think the American people are actually thinking for one minute. Anyone who pays ANY attention to American politics knows that Free Market Capitalism and lax government intervention is a Republican Tenet. Let the market do what it will.

And I believe that to a certain extent. The market is actually working just fine in this "crisis". It is correcting itself THANKS TO government intervention rate lowering. I am a big believer in the LAW of NATURE. Everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING has an ebb and flow, an up and down. Weather patterns, hurricane intensity from year to year, mating habits of salmon, number of fans that watch professional wrestling, beer:liquor consumption ratio over time, stock market, dark skinned black men popularity.

Things go up and down. There is an overall trend down or up over time in many cases, but things still go up and down. The Federal Reserve is an entity that tries to DEFY the laws of nature and is thusly doomed to FUCK UP. Under a basic natural market, the Dow would go up and down, but the Fed Reserve will try to keep markets high by lowering interest rates on money during what SHOULD BE bad times. The c-suckers are not letting nature take its course. And like the man said in Jurassic Park, nature always finds a way.

Here's another aspect about the Law of Nature, the more you try to go against the ebb and flow of ANYTHING, the more violent the change is when the change finally does occur. Ask New Orleans about how violent a change in Nature can occur as the try to block off a river which should be flowing down the middle of the state right now. Ask the parents of a teenage girl they kept sheltered, who then goes to college and joins a sex cult. Ask the people of Los Angeles in the 90s when their government was not letting their neighborhoods flourish naturally, and riots ensued. Same thing today. The more you keep the market artificially high, the VIOLENT and DRASTIC the drop will be when it finally comes, and it will come. As a believer in index funds, let me say taht THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS EVERLASTING PROSPERITY! EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING HAS UPS AND DOWNS, GOODS AND BADS. You get drunk, you have a hangover. The yin and the yang. Nature always wins, and we are seeing it right now.

Everyone involved with this meltdown should be shot. And the Fed Res. needs to be dissolved and we should go back to a Gold Standard. Let the market do what it will. Any asshole who invests in a few companies only will get hurt in the long run as individual stock trading is just gambling where the house always wins. We know this. But don't try to use all our money to make up for their mistakes. Let the market flow naturally. Individuals should invest in index funds and mutual funds that cover much if not all the market in some respect. Readjust every couple of years. For the government, keep in regulations so crooks don't come in and rob the people, but as far as trying to raise the market artificially or whatever, it's for the birds.

Let's revisit your favorite rattler and mine, Kwam-A-Kilpatrick. Yall's boy apparently decided to head up to Windsor for some city business, but was did not feel the need to call the court for permission first. Let's not also forget that he is NOW up for charges of assaulting an officer who was serving papers for someone else. We all know what would happen if a large black man who was NOT the mayor would get if he assaulted a police officer. It wouldn't even make it to trial.

I posted on one of the FAMU message boards and on this blog that Kwame should have resigned as soon as the charges were levied. I got a little flak for it, but so far I've been proven right. Let's say Kwame was indeed going to Canadia for city business, the fact that he is UNDER BOND means he cannot leave the country. Therefore, he is supposedly hampered from doing city business, assuming a simple phone call would not cut it for Windsor. If he had simply resigned and maybe served as an advisor to the Deputy Mayor, the other guy could have gone to Windsor for the presentation, and Kwame would not have the stress of running a major metropolitan city and keep his arse out of jail.

Kwame's actions could very well cost us our first black president. Polls show that Michigan is now in play in the election, and they need every negro they can find to vote for Obama. Negros in Michigan like nothing better than some Kwame Kilpatrick. He could have canvassed the city and the smaller towns doing some uber-energizing of the blackfolk, which could give Obama the edge in the electoral votes. Right now, if Kwame mentions Obama's name, you could just pencil in Michigan for McCain. Thanks a lot.

For the good of the race, please resign. We need the entire leadership of Detroit to get behind Obama and help him reel in Michigan. You are NOT HELPING the longer you stay in office.

Better Late than Never

The House is apologizing for Slavery and Jim Crow. That's great. But hopefully this won't put us in some sort of a cycle that talks about reparations again. We all know that we won't be seeing a check in the mail, the logistics alone are beyond a nightmare. But I think this move will bring Obama's campaign down a notch.

Rational: Whitefolk are probably getting a little tired of the Black America/Obama coverage on CNN. This one will probably take the cake as the CRIC takes to the news shows to talk about reparations after the apology. Because after you apologize for something, you agree to make up for it. That also means Obama will have to go on record of whether he believes in reparations. If he says yes, he won't be elected head dogcatcher, bottom line. If he says no, then the black community split on their love for him and he may lose some momentum. Either way, he loses and McCain takes over in the polls. Sneaky move in the House. Cohen set it up, but I wouldn't be surprised if a Republican was the one that got this going. Very Orwellian of you.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The House of Representatives was poised Tuesday to pass a resolution apologizing to African-Americans for slavery and the era of Jim Crow.
The nonbinding resolution, which is expected to pass, was introduced by Rep. Steve Cohen, a white lawmaker who represents a majority black district in Memphis, Tennessee.
While many states have apologized for slavery, it will be first time a branch of the federal government will apologize for slavery if the resolution passes, an aide to Cohen said.
By passing the resolution, the House would also acknowledge the "injustice, cruelty, brutality and inhumanity of slavery and Jim Crow," the period after slavery was abolished in which African-Americans were denied the right to vote and other civil liberties. The resolution states that "the vestiges of Jim Crow continue to this day."

"African-Americans continue to suffer from the consequences of slavery and Jim Crow -- long after both systems were formally abolished -- through enormous damage and loss, both tangible and intangible, including the loss of human dignity and liberty, the frustration of careers and professional lives, and the long-term loss of income and opportunity," the resolution states.
The House would also commit itself to stopping "the occurrence of human rights violations in the future," if it passes the resolution.
The resolution does not address the controversial issue of reparations. Some members of the African-American community have called on lawmakers to give cash payments or other financial benefits to descendents of slaves as compensation for the suffering caused by slavery.

Nothing against Gay people, but names Barons, Bison, Energy, Marshalls, Thunder, and ESPECIALLY WIND have to be the gayest set of names they could have come up with.

Barons: There ain't no Barons of ANYTHING in Oklahoma, gay.

Bison: Probably haven't been bison in OK since the White Man came in with guns, not too mention that that is the mascot for Howard University, which makes it really gay.

Energy: That's so WNBA I don't know what to say, the Energy industry is much more in Houston than in OK City, totally gay.

Marshalls: oh please, just another rip off from Texas' history, cowboys are getting gayer by the day, gay.

Thunder, that's just ridiculous, if you are going to name something after weather, make it something like Tornadoes or something, Thunder sounds like a nickname of a bear in Atlanta (not that I would know anything about that), gay.

And now Wind:

Wind. WIND! What is this, Captain Planet? Where did all these corny intangible object names come from. Why not just call yourselves the Flowergirls or Debutantes? That is just plain stupid and ultra-fem-WNBA. And don't tell me about some durn Wind Farms either, shouts out to T. Boone Pickens.

Oklahoma City needs to be recognized for what they are, a franchise stealer. You almost got New Orleans, and now you somehow got Seattle. What about the OK City Thugs. Or the OK City Swindlers, Carpetbaggers, or something really kickass, the OK City Five Fingers. That would actually sell some f8cking T-shirts baby.

With these corny choices, I would say OK City would be better off nixing the whole nickname idea altogether doing it like the soccer clubs, just call the team "BC Oklahoma City". Basketball Club of Oklahoma City. Or the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Basketball Club, Oklahoma City MBC. The nickname for the club will eventually evolve (maybe from a player or owner or the city), but would never be official. Kind of adds some allure to the whole thing. Or rip of San Fran and take out the whole Oklahoma part, and call it "The City". Come on OK City.

If you are going to with your energy industry, do a Jesse Jackson grab something with some nuts. You've got some petroleum up there, what about the OK City Oilmen, or OK City Black Gold? How about the OK City Roughnecks (although that's getting a little gay again). But I say go with something with some sexual connatations that still deals with petroleum, such as: OK City Drillers, Pipelayers, Penetrators, Plungers, Nightmen, Hands, or my favorite, the OK City Separators (process engineers in the house). The fans would love it.

CNN: Black In America

What's it like to be Black in America, it sucks. It's like an albatross. You carry this feeling of not belonging everyday. But you'll live and succeed if you don't bitch up about it.

I'm not home so I have not seen the newest Black In America, but from the various comments on ireport and other sources, I gather the series is Racist, Much Needed, is just another round of the evening news, and only shows light skinned men as successful while showing dark skinned men as criminals.

I don't know about the first three, but the last one is probably very true. How many times have we seen the members of CRIC talking about black power, and then marrying a woman who is lighter than the Google home page. I don't care who anyone marries, but that sure is a funny trend. Is it any wonder we're still Willie Lynching it up, even in positive forums like Black in America. It's Soledad O'Brien running the damn thing for crying out loud. Love her to death, but I've seen darker skinned people from Norway.

My baby daughter is pretty dark skinned like her mother, and although everyone claims she's the cutest baby they ever seen at 10 months, I know that there will be many blackfolk that will give her hell when she grows up. I also know it's going to take a lot of effort from her mother to keep her father from opening up some arteries on anyone talking about her skintone in a mean way. If its just jokes in good fun and my girl is giving as well as she can take, then its all good (who doesn't love a good racial joke) . But a black person truly debasing her for skintone is just as bad a white person calling her a nigger in my book. NO DIFFERENCE.

I'll take a peak at this Black In America when I get back to the house, but I truly hope we won't see Wil Lynch going on.

Fears of a 'no-fun' Olympics in Beijing

FEARS of a "no fun Olympics" are growing as security restrictions increase and become more bizarre with less than 20 days to go until the opening ceremony.

Beijing police have been visiting bar owners in the popular Sanlitun area and asking them to sign pledges agreeing to not serve black people or Mongolians and ban activities including dancing.

Bar owners said that police have been clamping down on black people and Mongolians, who are sometimes implicated in drug dealing and prostitution, as part of an Olympic clean-up campaign that they and locals fear will make for a secure but sterile Games.

Maggies, Beijing's most notorious expatriate bar, referred to as the "Mongolian embassy" because of its popularity with Mongolian prostitutes and Western men, was shut suddenly about two months ago after a reported murder.

The gay bar Destination has also been ordered to shut down its dance bar until further notice.

The Minister of Culture announced on Thursday that all overseas entertainers who have ever attended activities that "threaten national sovereignty" will be banned. This follows an outburst by Icelandic singer Bjork at a Shanghai concert on March 2, which sparked an official investigation.

Bjork shouted out, "Tibet, Tibet," after performing her song Declare Independence.A notice on the Ministry's website on Thursday said that entertainers who "threaten national unity", "whip up ethnic hatred", "violate religious policy or cultural norms" or "advocate obscenity or feudalism and superstition" will be banned. "Feudalism and superstition" are often code words used by the Chinese Government to refer to Tibetans loyal to the Dalai Lama.

The move follows the detention of several prominent Tibetan singers.Beijing CBD businesses are reporting increasingly bizarre restrictions on couriers. This includes a ban on transporting CD-ROMs through the city, and mobile phones or GPS devices can only be sent if their batteries are delivered separately.

This is on top of postal restrictions on sending liquids and powders.At least six big bars and restaurants inside the Beijing Workers' Stadium compound - where Olympic soccer matches will be held - have been ordered to shut ahead of the Olympics and during Games time.Hundreds of armed checkpoints on the main roads coming into Beijing were introduced two weeks ago, and non-Beijing-registered vehicles have been banned until after the Olympics, a move that is causing massive delays and extra costs for businesses.

Telling Niggers how to live!

Now it comes out that Jesse Jackson used the word "nigger" in his "trash talking" session. Personally, I don't have much of a problem with blackfolk using the "n-word", as I feel there are bigger fish to fry pertaining to the jacked up state of Black America. But Jesse Jackson has just shut him self COMPLETELY out of the credibility game and has taken a little piece of black America's credibility with him. I don't give much slack if someone says hurtful comments out of anger or drunkenness. My philosophy is that in both cases, the person is saying things they that actually feel, as your inhibitions are lowered. But Jackson was not in such a state, or even playing basketball for his "trash talking". He honestly feels that Obama is talking down to black people and is trying to tell niggas how to live.

For the all three of you that read this blog, let me just go on the record and say the JJ is a chump and does not want Obama to win the presidency. Obama has eclipsed everything Jackson has done, and started out in JJ's backyard. But I'm going to go out a small limb and say that MOST if not ALL of the Civil Rights Industrial Complex (CRIC) do NOT want Obama to win the presidency.

Why
1. Elimination of White Guilt. Not that I know that many whitefolk, but I understand a sizeable enough portion of them feel guilty enough to kick a few extra dollars and "favors" our way, scholarships, extra points in college admissions, Diversity and Inclusion Corporate policies, etc. If a black man with an African name were to get elected President with 45% of the white vote, the thought is that many whites will start to cut back on those programs thinking "Problem Solved". D&I programs will be cut back, likely reducing the amount of Negros in the upper echelon of corporate America. Not that there will that many of going to college in the first place. They may even cut back funding to HBCUs. But more importantly to the CRIC, whitefolk will pay even LESS attention and less money to the CRIC. Cut down on the TV interviews, the fancy conventions, the first class travel all over the country. Why do all those things when a black man is President. Black America Web had an opinion piece about a brotha who actually will NOT support Obama b/c of this one theory.

2. Jealousy. Old fashioned green. Many in the CRIC could care less that Obama gave up a big money job on Wall Street to work in the grimiest ghettos in Chicago for several years as a $10K a year community organizer and whatnot. Obama did not get his ass kicked in a lunch counter line in the 60s, he did not even grow up in the hoods of the lower 48, he just came out of the islands (Hawaii and Indonesia) to take the country by storm. How dare he not cut his teeth like the rest of us. Who's to say that Obama even marched against a few corporations for a little bribery money, hello Anheiser-Busch.

3. Inspirations of Self Reliance. That's right. Obama grew up from meager means to be the Presidential nominee to perhaps the Leader of the Free World. Obama has been preaching about dreaded self reliance going backk to that 2o04 DNC speech.

Go into any inner-city neighborhood, and folks will tell you that government alone can't teach kids to learn.
OBAMA: They know that parents have to teach, that children can't achieve unless we raise their expectations and turn off the television sets and eradicate the slander that says a black youth with a book is acting white. They know those things.

That's CRAZY TALK!! If this attitude that WE are more powerful than racism will also eliminate much of the perks of the CRIC. You must always be wary of the man whose job is to put himself OUT of a job, hello Al Gore. Like the man said in the Big Lebowski, always look for the man who benefits. If Black folk stand up for themselves, turn off the coonery on television, and exercise our current rights and opportunities (just like Mexicans do right now), we would be MUCH MUCH closer to the ultimate goal of equality. The CRIC just can't have that.

So there you have it. Jesse Jackson has said that he thinks Obama was talking down to black people and that Jackson should cut off Obama's nuts. Very nice.

And WHAT was Obama saying that was so offensive, things like "any fool can make a baby, but it takes a man to raise that baby." Obama also said something about funding faith based community service, a program that was started by BILL CLINTON! Jackson and the rest of the CRIC just seem to think that Black People are like children, and we don't deserve to have anyone talk to us about personal responsibility. We are a host of lost imbeciles that need Daddy to lead us around and to make sure we don't hurt ourselves.

Jackson needs to get a grip and understand that Blackfolk are not falling for the "victim" line anymore. His days of getting paid for exploiting the black situation is coming to an end, and now he's reaching. I wouldn't be surprised if we see more of this crazy talk from the CRIC as Obama inches closer to the White House. But here's a video response from the Obama camp.

Ben Jealous' Tenure as the head of the NAACP: 24 Months

Jealous is the appropriate last name of this man. He is the new head of the NAACP, a job I don't even think Barack Obama would campaign for. Bill Clinton would not be able to handle running the NAACP. I love what they have done and much of what they continue to do, but how can you run an organization with 64 Members of the Board of Directors. That's right. Not until recently, the NAACP look more like the NCAA March Madness. (March Madness now has 65 teams and ships one of the Black Schools to the play-in game in Daytona. But that's for another post.) That many people on the Board would make it impossible to settle on anything. It reeks of mismanagement and waste. By comparison...

So here we sit. The dude from Verizon could not handle the NAACP and their ways. The NAACP and their 4000 board members could not get with the new sh6t. It ain't just about litigation anymore. I don't have a ranking for the problems that are plaguing black america, but "Black America" should be in the top 3. We are perpetuating white supremacy ourselves now. Just like someone hits you with their car. Sure it sucks they hit you and they should pay for the damages, but YOU personally are the one who has to sweat it out in rehab to walk normally again.

Jealous seems like he may able to throw together a Facebook page and send out some text messages, but it ain't the technology gap that is keeping old heads from being able to work with the new generation. It's just out-and-out CULTURE SHOCK. They have no clue what's going on in the trenches today. Not to mention that they will micromanage Jealous to death. The NAACP did not get the memo that "Boards of Directors" are hands-off positions.

By June 28th, 2010 he will be OUT THE DOOR as head of the NAACP. Either he'll quit, get resigned, or just get fired.

N-word and Double Standards

Think of the Imus and Liz Trotta situations. No they did say the "N-Word", but you gotta love double standards.

You know, I don't care for the "N-Word" so much. If a white person called me that I would probably consider hitting him with a blunt object... like my car going 45 miles per hour. And I'm more conservative and less easily offended than most. I love a good racial joke from time to time, and am a fan of Lisa Lampanelli. As long as you're not being serious and being an equal opportunity offender, I can dig it.

But I am TIRED of hearing whitefolk complain that they cannot use the word "nigger" yet 95% of black people use the word as if its their last name. And here is the reason.

Blacks have felt state sponsored terroirsm and massive oppression for hundreds of years in America alone. And although America is getting its act together, it looks like Europe has regressed to hating on blackfolk. DAMN. I'm sitting here on my days off watching Tiger Woods playing in a playoff going heads up against a man they call Rocco Mediate in the US Open. All throughout I have been pulling for Tiger, but I feel a little conflicted. Here's a guy, Rocco, who had to qualify to get in the tournament, probably wears clothes that HE bought to wear, and got the thumbs up from this three sons. It's probably costing him some dinero to stay an extra day in Cali with the airline costs.

This guys is a bit older and hasn't won jack in terms of majors. He is a joy to watch as he has more personality than Tiger could on 3 shots of whiskey. He reminds me of myself with his fun loving style of getting 'er done. But he's a white guy playing in an historically white sport against the only brotha in the PGA. So I'm pulling for Tiger. And I'm not ashamed to say that I normally take joy when Garcia and Mickelson choke when they are coming to the wire with Tiger, thus meaning Tiger only has to stay consistent and everyone else will fold. I don't care if the white guy on the other side was raised by WOLVES, if he's playing against Tiger, I want Tiger to win and win big.

But this time I feel all conflicted, I mean, deep in my heart am pulling for Tiger due to racial pride, but should I be? The fact that blackfolk were shut out of the PGA for so long means for me that it is a another round of Black History every time Tiger wins, especially a major. But Rocco didn't have anything to do with that history. Should I continue to revel and take joy when/if Rocco chokes? I probably will, but should I be?

So many blackfolk with ANY sense of history typically pull for the black player in the traditionally white position. Head coach in football (there are more black basketball coaches than ever nowadays), Quarterback, golf, tennis, President of the United States. And you know what, I won't look at white folks any worse if they root for a white guy in traditionally black stuff, like the white running back out of LSU. It's just another one of those "double standards" I guess, and speaking of double standards....

So the pedophile loved by black women across the country, R. Kelly, is in the fight of his life in court. The prosecution brought the wood, and now the defense is now trying to make Kelly can keep boning 13 year old black girls on into old age. The defense brings on an expert who had removed the heads of Kelly and minor he boned throughout the video, to show the jury that anyone can remove the heads. He stopped at saying that any idiot at a Best Buy could put on new heads. If this BS works and Kelly is set free, then the education system in America is so jacked up we may as well let China take us over now.

Headless bodies on a video can be done by a 5th grader on a desktop. Putting heads and faces, complete with FLUID FACIAL EXPRESSIONS, EYE MOVEMENTS, BLINKS, SMILES, TONGUE MOVEMENT, EYEBROWS, SHADING BASED ON CONTOURS FROM LIGHT INTERACTION, NOSTRIL MOVEMENT etc, for EACH frame would take EONS of work by a team of professionals. And would likely cost a few million dollars for the equipment alone.

Unless R. Kelly has top secret information about the European Union being in cahoots with Vladimir Putin and Hugo Chavez to destroy the United States buy attracting a golden asteroid with a tractor beam, I doubt anyone would go through all that trouble and cost to set him up. Get the cuff out of here.

I'm 28 Years Old

When I sat in my little room offshore and watched the returns from the South Dakota primary, I just could not believe it. I didn't cry, but I damn sure put my head down for a few minutes. I couldn't help but think that of my age. I'm 28 years old. I still feel like I JUST got out of college. I can vividly remember my hood-arse junior high school experience. Yet it was only 40 years ago that Black people could not vote in half of this country at all without getting killed. That's a good 12 years before I was born. In the course of history of human civilization, 40 years is a blink of an eye. Hell, in the course of American History (1642-2008), 40 years is damn near nothing.

And now we have a black man winning the Demo nomination for President, and leading in most polls for the Presidency. This is something white people cannot understand what this means for black people. I can appreciate that the folks on CNN (I only watch O'reilly on FOX) were speaking in subdued tones of the greatness of this moment.

As I write, I think back to the scene from HBO's John Adams Miniseries (should be required viewing for all school children), where the Founding Fathers officially voted in favor of declaring independence from Britain. They just all kind of sat there quietly, each man thinking his own thoughts. Adams, Jefferson, Franklin, etc. Hell, half of them still spoke with British accents. I imagine this is the same thoughts most black Americans (who give a damn) thought last night. Just like those early Philadelphia meetings, the job was far from done, but dammit they put it on paper. Just like those days, we sit here knowing a true fight is on the way. Just like those days, we are unsure if there is some backlash we do not anticipate.

The best part about this is that Obama did not have the "black vote" in the beginning. For starters, Obama was fighting idiots in our own race who questioned his blackness. "Well he didn't grow up in the hood" "They say he was raised by whitefolk" "He doesn't have any children out of wedlock". The Clinton name easily had the majority of blackfolk, and Hillary was all but assured the nomination. Obama would just be a black version of John Edwards, well spoken dude that women want to sleep with and made men question their heterosexuality. But he earned the black vote the hard way, talking to us and making it plain that he could get 'er done. It also helps that Bill Clinton's words were taken out of context before South Carolina. But whatever. We'll take it baby. Go Obama!

The Trees, by Rush

I'm listening to Walton and Johnson other day, and Mr. Kenneth reads a poem which is actually the song lyrics to "The Trees" By Rush. It was really deep, and I even zipped over to Youtube to hear an acoustic version of the song. W&J of course used it to knock Obama and his proposed tax code, which I do agree with. I mean, when something like 10% of the American people pay 90% of the taxes, yet the tax system is "unfair" according to Obama, it makes me wonder what his definition of "fair" actually is.

But the lyrics make me think about other things, like Civil Rights. I think that if this song were played in the pre-Civil Rights world, would people say that the Black people are naturally inferior and thus deserve less rights and be happy with it? You could say the same thing for women's rights. For once I do not have an answer, but it certainly makes you think. Check out the lyrics.

How Much Foolishness Can a Man Take!

So Obama finally does the right thing and resigns from his Church. I know that had to be a tough decision. I still consider myself a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC, though I haven't visited but maybe 5-6 times since I moved from Charlotte in 1998. But here we stand. I would like to think that Pastor Kimbrough in Charlotte, and Pastor J at Higher Dimension Church (the one we attend in Houston) would be nice enough to keep things on the level while I was running for a major office.

With friends like this you don't need enemies.

To think that we are THIS close having a Black President and it's not his own people, its his own CHURCH that screws him over. Pfleger and Wright need to take a damn nap. They need to realize that they are on the WRONG side of history, as the people who nearly derailed the Obama campaign. Assuming Obama does not win, it will be written in the histories that the "black church" which had been so instrumental in nurtured the Civil Rights Movement has f*cked up what is probably the Ultimate Stretch Goal of the Civil Rights Movement.

Black people have figured out a LONG time ago in this campaign, that Black people and hardcore black issues will need to take it easy for Obama to have a chance. We all knew that we did not want whites to look at Obama as just another Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson when they ran for President. So Blackfolk did pretty much the same thing, we listened to Obama's speeches, look at his past as a Civil Rights guy and a Community organizer and figured "this guy is cool with us". No need for us to put the word "black" in front of words like universal health care, better education, investing in America. Any black person that wanted to know anything about Obama's "black agenda" just had to read his Audacity of Hope book, the chapter on "Race", or go to his website.

Tavis Smiley did not get that. Tom Joyner does not get that. But everyone else seems to have it figured out. Let's all band together to keep this fragile thing going by letting him court the 90% of the population. A black man in the White House (with good politics) would be a great thing for the kids growing up to see. BET and other coonery would still be there, but you cannot deny the positivity of a Black Face in front of the Presidential Seal. Oh it's real.

I'm listening to the idiotic deliberation on whether to count Michigans and Florida's delegates.

They broke the rules and everyone knew going in that these votes would not count. I am supporting Obama for various reasons, but if we come this close to having a Black President just to have the Democratic Party screw him out of the nomination, I will be a Republican. And not just in name. I'm talkin' card carryin' GOP. I would even attend the little Young Repubs meetings and start networking in Houston. Bottom line. This ought to be interesting.

Kwame, Your Time is Up

Kwame, it's time. The man cannot GOVERN anymore. His own city council has said he needs to go in a 7-0 vote. Some conventions have gone elsewhere. And I could care less about his having an affair. For all we know, getting some tang on the side probably helped him govern a little better. Lord knows where is wife was all those times. And who better to sleep with than your own Chief of Staff.

But I hope the tang was good, b/c he has embarassed and screwed over the city he claims to love so much. And it's got to be HARD to embarass Detroit. Especially when you can get a house for a little over 20K. But outside of the infidelity and idiotic text messaging, Kwame messes around and spends city funds to settle a lawsuit so no one would find out. And what was this lawsuit, oh just from the police officers he's fired after they were investigating his foolishness. Nice. And now Detroit is out of a cool $9 million.

Now he's invoking things like lynching and being on a mission from God. First point, Kwame ain't no Medgar Evars or even a Maynard Jackson. He (like many other corrupt black leaders) throw out civil rights as a way to deflect attention from white folks. And white folks want no part of an angry black man. Ask Jeremiah Wright.

And maybe we should start keeping a running tally of dudes that say they are on a Mission from God: George W. Bush, Kwame Kilpatrick, Jerry Falwell, Martin Luther King Jr, David Duke, creators of BET, Ahmadinejad, and Osama Bin Laden. And I'm just getting started. What makes it so bad is that ALL these guys are praying to the same God, yet they are on opposing sides. The Mission from God stuff does not fly (no pun intended) in a post 9-11 world. No one prays to God more than terrorists, and that's real. Once people get convinced they are on God's special mission, it really goes to hell.

Kwame, do your city a favor and do like Judge Mathis said, get out of it. Clear your name if you are so inclined if you can pull it off with a $700 an hour lawyer. I would be surprised myself. Should be fun to watch.

You See Tavis and Tom Why Obama Can't Mess with Y'all

Obama has just done exactly what he did NOT want to do by having a mentor like Pastor Wright. There is a reason Obama had to layoff the State of the Black Union and other heavily black events.

I am more conservative than most black folks I know, but even I know that much of what Jeremiah Wright said is correct in many of his infamous soundbites. As a black man who knows the history, I wish all Black Americans had to deal with in this country was a 7 year Holocaust, or a massive yet only one hour long terrorist attack. Despite how sickening the Holocaust and 9/11 were, that is a drop in the bucket compared to the 400 years of slavery and another 100 years of official oppression and state-sponsored terrorism. That's 500 years of OFFICIAL oppression. Black folk were treated as slaves and second class citizens, and it was as legal as carrying a gun in Texas. We are only 40 years removed from that and many whitefolk somehow believe that after 40 years, it's all good and the oppression and negative feelings have gone away.

However, I am also more optimistic than most black folks. I feel that if we as black folk take full advantage of the opportunities America offers today, then we can get very very close to where black America wants to be. I feel that in 2008, many blacks are now so pessimistic they allow coonery and the CRIC to tell them that they are only helpless victims. No one is going to hang you for learning to read, lynch you for boning a white woman, or stone you if you attend the best universities.

This is a message to Tavis Smiley, do you NOW understand why Obama had to steer clear of the State of the Black Union? This year it was a little calmer, but the SOBU has been a big Blame Whitey Panel Discussion at least since Katrina. Obama may or may not agree with these things, but he knows that he is running for President of ALL America, and the uneducated of White America are not ready yet to see with their own eyes the fury of Black America. It is out-and-out scary. The "Angry Black Man" moniker is not just some pop culture term. The media would take Obama's presence at the SOBU and look for any soundbite of some militant stuff, and play it all day. They will then ask Obama why he did not either confront these comments head on, or walk out of the meeting. Best to leave it alone and fight the 4 million other battles a campaign brings.

Maybe now Tavis and Tom Joyner are aware of what most Black Americans have figured out. We all know that Whites (and I'm generallizing) are not ready to hear any black fury. We know Obama's record in Chicago and his liberal platform, as well as is his statements at Tavis' debate last year. Black Americans (generalizing) are willing to sit this one out and let Obama do his best convincing the rest of America to vote for him, and you can see that in the 90% black vote despite Obama's lack of addressing strictly black issues.

I'm waiting to hear Obama's statements today, and although Obama should have gotten out there earlier in this controversy with some straight talk, he may not be electable at all now. Obama will have trouble getting blue collar white votes in the Democrat primaries, but the Republicans will batter Obama with this one after the Conventions. Unless Obama can put this thing down today, the Democrats may need to consider giving Hillary the nod during the Convention.

Are We Ready for a Black President?

Tupac said somewhere inbetween hating on the East Coast that "We ain't ready for a Black President." He was too busy getting gunned down by Suge Knight to explain that much further but I can see his point.

Black Americans (not recent immigrant Africans) range from skepticism to out-and-out distrust of the government, white people, and each other. 400 years of slavery, and another 100 years of state-sponsored terrorism will do that to ya. But what if a Black Man in 2008 makes it all the way, will it inspire the hope we all think it will in the youth? Will the D-boys stop slangin'? Will Superhead stop giving head? Will rappers actually give a sh!t about the negative images they perpetuate so they and the T.I.'s can get rich? Will it even make BET stop trying to destroy Black People?

The obvious answer to all the questions is a resounding "NO". What's going to happen is that Black folk will likely continue on a path to destruction and prosperity, depending on how much your favorite black guy likes education. Some blacks will see that even with the dream President, we cannot get much, so we should do for ourselves with Education. Others will see Obama's Presidency and the consequent lack of change, and fall deeper into despair. More D-boys on the street, more BET. Ask the guys who believed in the first Million Man March, and how things have gotten worse in the 10 years since. Not that we shouldn't try, but if personal responsibility is not a part of the equation, it will end in shambles. Oh it's real.

Is Geraldine Right?

Wouldn't yah know it, resident angry white woman Geraldine Ferraro is getting beatdown in the media for saying Obama is where he is because he's a black man. How dare she say that Obama is getting so much love and play and free passes in the media because he's black? It defies logic. Are black people voting for Obama out of racial loyalty? Are whitefolk voting for Obama out of white guilt over slavery and Jim Crow?

You know what, I think everyone knows Geraldine is right. Yup, exactly right! Let's face the facts, Obama and Hillary Clinton are in agreement with about 90% of the issues. Quasi-socialist as opposed to straight up Socialist. True Obama is winning states that are as white as the regular Google page, which is why I f*cks with Blackle, but Obama would be taking it up the rear in the delegate count like an Eliot Spitzer prostitute if it weren't for the massive amount of black folks voting for him in Urban centers and the Old Confederacy.

If Barack Obama was Barry Orlovsky, the black vote would either be knee deep in Camp Clinton, or spread out between Edwards, Clinton, and Orlovsky. Obama has inspired millions, and a lot of it has to do with the fact that he is a great orator, has little voting record, and his overall life story. We've got a brotha that grew up broker than broke and on hard drugs, and worked himself in a top Harvard Law graduate, yet had the balls to turn away all those white women to marry a sista.

Geraldine may have been right, but there are many truths folks need to keep to themselves. You don't see men telling their wives they look fat in that dress, nor women telling their husbands to try out a wang enlarger. Geraldine won't affect much in our community, as black folks are voting for Obama 9 to 1 already. But her comments may help Hillary as it will bring Angry Black Folks (cue Quanell X) out of the woodwork, thus scaring white folks in Pennsylvania to vote white, er Clinton. Obama has managed to be black without making people think black. That in and of itself is worth a few more delegates. Oh it's real.
