Dear Sir:

On behalf of the Egyptian people in Egypt and the United States, we extend to you our thanks and gratitude for the great work you do in serving the goals and the interests of the United States of America in the Middle East, and your effort in fighting terrorism. The position you took towards Egypt and its people in getting rid of the tyranny of the Mubarak regime was honorable. During the six years of your presidency, your policy successfully stopped the bleeding of American blood and treasures and improving the image of USA. At the same time, America’s interests were saved because of your wise policies.

On the domestic front, your policies were even better and more effective. Both employment and health care improved tremendously despite all the obstacles. More, US economy is gaining strength and resiliency after the sharp slump on 2008. As the first African American President, your remarkable achievements will be remembered for generations to come.

As you might be aware, the situation in Egypt is far worse than anybody could imagine after the fall of Mubarak regime, because of his criminal actions and corruption. During his 30 years of corruption and crimes, native Egyptians (Kemetian Copts) ended up empty-handed. They suffer severe economic difficulties and total social destruction. Currently, our people face the hardest time in our history and live in the middle of an existential threat.

In the enclosed memo, we bring to your attention as much information as possible that explains the real situation, the specific threats, and suggested peaceful solutions to save our native people in Egypt and to survive in their current existential crisis.

Mr. President:

We would like your help and support for our demands, which we have raised to President Abdul Fatah Al Sisi. These demands are consistent with the all international covenants and treaties of the United Nations.

There are so many peoples and ethnic groups facing existential threat. But currently, native Egyptians are far beyond facing serious existential threat. They are already in the middle of an existential threat.

These threats include economic collapse due to the lack of land ownership; a destroyed culture; a language barely used in prayers. Their native Egyptian heritage such as tombs, artifacts, and the ancient sites of their ancestors are openly and “legally based on Islamic Fatwas”, officials, and Ministry of Antiquities corruption, are looted and destroyed without any intervention from UNESCO, other world institutions, universities, and historians.

Their population drastically decreased by both voluntary and forced migration and displacement. They ultimately were suffocated by the increasing multiplication of the population of the Arab tribes who had been purposely brought to settle on the native lands of the indigenous in order to repress and ethnically cleanse the indigenous Egyptians of Upper Egypt, from the southern border in Aswan to the Pyramids in Al Giza.

Geographically, these tribes are occupying both sides of the Nile Valley in the whole of Upper Egypt. At the same time they encircle almost all villages and cities in Upper Egypt.

The main occupation of these tribes is repressing local natives by seizing and settling most of the land that is supposed to be owned by aboriginal Egyptians. The main source of finance for these Arab tribes is arms and drug trading; and illegally digging, smuggling, and selling looted artifacts, treasure, and antiquities. In other words, they make their money through land theft and cultural expropriation.

These Arab tribes enjoy semi-autonomous status and have their own laws: they are a state within a state. The places they occupy are named after their original tribal names in the Arabian Peninsula. Fortunately, however, they reject Egyptian culture, which has resulted in them not assimilating into indigenous Egyptian culture and society.

Their religion of course is the Wahabbi extremist version of Islam. The status of Lower Egypt is no better than Upper Egypt’s native Egyptians are stranded by Arab tribes.

Arab tribes and clans were brought in as a paramilitary to suppress the local population over the course of Egypt’s history under imperialist occupation. First, tribes came with the early Arab Muslim conquest and during Fatimid Dynasty and the Crusades. Second, Arab tribes were brought by the British occupation of Egypt to repress the native revolt in Upper Egypt, particularly in Suhaj, eastern provinces in the north, Dmni-hur, and other areas. In fact, the British occupation caused most of the indigenous Egyptians of Suhaj to leave their land and settle in other parts of the country. The same thing took place in the eastern provinces and Dmni-hur in the North.

The British viewed the native Egyptians as a race to be ruled, contrasted with the Anglo-Saxons who they believed to be a governing race. This is how the British justified their occupation of Egypt. British policies created prosperity for the tiny, foreign elite but impoverished the native Egyptian masses with high levels of indebtedness. The British turned Egypt into their own personal cotton plantation. They supported the elite landowners, most of whom were foreign, against the landless native peasants.

England also is responsible for the modern ethnic cleansing and suppressing native Egyptian culture. Creating and supporting terrorist Islamist organizations was a forte of the British. Reviving Arabization and Islamization was Britain’s way of repressing the indigenous national and cultural identity of Egypt.

The ultimate tragedy of this genocide has been undertaken by the USA over the last 60 years. American support of Nasser, Sadat, and Mubarak had the devastating effect of breaking the back of Egyptian culture and identity as well as allowing the continuation of the ethnic cleansing, land confiscation, and the economic destruction of the Egyptians. American support for the regimes occupying Egypt resulted in both physical and cultural genocide of the Egyptians.

Throughout the history of imperial occupation, occupiers left colonies on lands they occupied. This was the case in occupied Egypt for Greek, Romans, Turks, French, and English. However, the Arab occupation of Egypt and native Egyptians still exists. The time has come to end this captivity of our people.

Saudi Arabia, England and the USA are responsible for this cultural and physical genocide. This means they are also responsible for providing the solution.

Over the last 80 years, these Arab tribes became the demographic reservoir for all terrorist Islamic organizations, not only in Egypt, but in all of the countries in the Middle East and North Africa. The power of the Muslim Brotherhood is rooted in these tribes. They were able to sweep all elections after the 2011 revolution because of huge tribal support.

Saudi Arabia, the mother of all Arabs, is responsible for all these crimes committed by the tribes against Egyptians and reparations must be paid to the native Egyptian victims.

The world, through the UN, the USA, and England, should pressure Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States to call in their own people and give them citizenship , and other incentives. Egypt can no longer afford food, housing, education and healthcare for the descendants of occupiers.

Egyptian Copts seek and request a Russian role in releasing and freeing our people from this historic captivity. The importance of a Russian role is to have some semblance of a balance of power, because the USA, England, Saudi Arabia, and Israel have great and strong relationships with the Arab Sunni Islamic countries, including Egypt as Sunni-majority country.

Such problems and solutions have been implemented in some countries in the region. Kuwait eventually offered its “Elbudoun” citizenship to Comoros Island in order to relocate them to a different homeland. Elbudoun are Arabs but belong to a different tribe.

In Sudan, millions of Arab Northerners moved away from the southern area. In Egypt, Arab tribes should go back to their original homeland and leave the aboriginal Egyptians alone.

The USA helped and supported the Arab military coup of 1952 until the fall of Mubarak. Mubarak targeted native Egyptians, committing crimes against humanity, economic strangulation, ethnic cleansing, killing, abduction, attacking houses of worship, and forcing displacement and migration.

The native Egyptians are left alone without any allies or support. They lack any kind of defense force or political representation. Moreover, they live in ghettos surrounded by tribes that were supported by the successive Arab Muslim governments in Egypt. Despite all odds, Egyptian Copts were able to revolt against the oppression of Mubarak regime and his Islamists allies. They played a main role in the two revolutions of 2011 and 2013, removing both Mubarak and Muslim Brotherhood from government. They strive to survive their captivity until the present in order to get their freedom.

Ending the captivity of Egyptian Copts must be based on restoring their natural and human rights. The current government must legislate laws to reverse this cultural genocide. The first, and foremost is teaching the Middle Egyptian language in all levels of education, which is the only way to protect, and preserve Egyptian culture. It is the natural language of the land of Egypt, which will stop and reverse extermination of Egyptian culture and identity. The new regime must prove that they are really Egyptian and have the interests of Egyptians at heart by approving and legislating this natural right for all Egyptians.

There is no demand to abandon the Arabic language that was imposed on all Egyptians during the course of the Arab Islamic occupation. Restoring the native Egyptian language is not unprecedented. Iran, which is an Islamic country with an Islamic system, still retains the ancient Persian language, and Arabic language. In parts of North Africa, Arabic and the native Berber languages are the official languages. A similar system can be adopted in Egypt.

Lift the siege imposed on Egyptians communities by the Arab tribes in all regions of Egypt, especially the most affected regions in Upper Egypt, from Cairo to Aswan. Throughout history, these tribes have killed, ethnically cleansed, stole, and smuggled ancient artifacts and antiquities. They have also stolen the land of the indigenous inhabitants.

Return all agricultural lands to the native Egyptians in Upper Egypt that was stolen from them by occupation and terrorism, and all the lands that were confiscated in Lower Egypt by Arab governments in the last 60 years.

These demands are vital for natives to survive and to live on the land of the earliest cradle of civilization. Thus, it’s the duty of President Abdul Fatah Al Sisi and his government, whom have the legislative power to pass the proper laws, to start a “CULTURAL REVOLUTION” in Egypt, which is the way out of the current culture of hatred and imperialism in Egypt.

The proposed Cultural Revolution in Egypt would end the hatred towards others and will spread to all corners of the Middle East and start a whole fresh new era in the region.

This Cultural Revolution must have international and regional support. It is not the responsibility of Egypt’s government alone; it’s also responsibility of all parties that caused and participated in that Great Captivity of Egyptians.

In this regard we, the American Coptic Union, demand a re-conciliatory process based on the above natural and human rights, similar to that of Nelson Mandela in South Africa. Reconciliation must take place before any parliamentary elections in Egypt. Any election before reconciliation will produce results similar to Mubarak’s fake parliaments.

The American Coptic Union has sent such demands to President AlSisi during his visit to UN General Assembly on Sept. 2014. A copy is enclosed to this memo.

Open Letter to the Egyptian President Abdul Fattah AlSisi

On behalf of the American Coptic Union and the Egyptian-American Community, we offer our congratulations to your victory in the Presidential election and the love and support of the Egyptian people. We write this letter to you to bring to your attention and consideration the historical repression and oppression of Egyptian Copts (Kemetians) in their native land of Egypt.

First we would like to express our sincerest appreciation for your great effort and courage in curbing the more than 40 years of bloodshed and massacres of Egyptian Copts by Islamists and Arab Islamic regimes in Egypt.

We are confident that you are aware of what Coptic Egyptians have been going through. We have faced injustice, oppression, massacres, kidnappings, and the seizure of property. The most dangerous is what we are face now: displacement and ethnic cleansing as a result of the policies of economic strangulation and demographic suffocation that will inevitably lead to the extinction of our people from their aboriginal homeland. We extend and display to you through this letter the most important and serious problems facing us today which must be solved quickly:

Disastrous economic strangulation against our people, which began in 1952 and increased during the reigns of Sadat and Mubarak, was a result of the acquisition of territory and the theft and distribution of land without compensation. We urge you to return all the lands that have been nationalized and that were owned by Coptic Egyptians and redistribute them to the poor, farmers, and Coptic people. These lands were given to the Arab tribes, who are colonial settlers on the land of Egypt, and other non-Egyptians who were brought in by regimes that have ruled Egypt. We also demand that the priority of the new distribution of land be to the locals of the indigenous people of the country.
Disastrous demographic suffocation of the indigenous Egyptians by the Arab tribes and clans, particularly in Upper Egypt. Their numbers have increased to a point that cannot be tolerated. As a result, Coptic Egyptians are under siege and there is no possible outlet for their growth and development. In addition, a huge flood of Arab populations (settler colonialism) from the Delta to Upper Egypt have dominated all sources of wealth, land, and almost all natural resources. Moreover, most of these tribes and groups turned into ticking time bombs through Islamization. They became strong supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood and Jihad. The main jobs of these tribes and clans are the illegal arms trade, drugs, and organized crime at the expense of the indigenous population. Furthermore, these tribes enjoy autonomy, given to them by Arab Islamic governments and even the British Empire. They do not recognize Egyptian identity and use their own law, which is called Councils of Arabs. They engage in the theft and excavation of the ancient tombs of our ancestors, in addition to many other unaccountable crimes. They believe in the dangerous terrorist ideology of Wahhabism. Most of them join and promote the Muslim Brotherhood and the Salafists, both of which have committed the worst crimes against native Egyptians and humanity throughout history, particularly during the last 60 years. Their numbers have been quite evident in all elections that took place after the January 25 Revolution, which confirms our prior and current statements.
We are asking you to stop this cultural genocide against Egyptian Copts and to reconsider the usage of the mother language of the country, which is the Egyptian language. The State must adopt a program to revive our language at all educational levels. This will be the first step to stop the ethnic and cultural genocide. The native Egyptians deserve this because they are indigenous people of Egypt and because it is guaranteed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
We appeal to you to not to release Mubarak and his aides because of the crimes they committed against the Egyptian people, both Christian and Muslim. In this regard, we would like to point that the American Coptic Union has filed several complains to the UN Human Rights Council, which received attention from US President Barack Obama. We would like to express our disagreement regarding the Mubarak current trial that ignored his crimes against our people. We seek your support for a fair trial that delivers bonafide justice to the victims and their families.

Mr. President:

These demands are consistent with the requirements of the international laws of human rights as they meet the consent of all the states. Our demands are an integral part of the fight against terrorism in Egypt and the region in general. We raise these historical and current injustices before you, hoping for favorable consideration and support for the legitimate rights of the indigenous people of Egypt. We look forward to an era of President Sisi that delivers Egypt from the brink and into better days.

Islamists and Salafists, Responsible for Sinai and Eilat Attacks

US Foreign Policy Shares Responsibility by Encouraging Islamists-Jihadists in Egypt

Attacks on Israel’s Port of Eilat last week succeeded in distracting the world from Egypt’s problems and tried to delegitimize the peaceful revolution of the Egyptians against oppression. This attack is aiming to open the way for Salafists and Islamists to seize power in Egypt in the coming months, and provoking, and dragging Israel and Egypt to confrontation.

Islamists from Sinai crossed the Israeli border and assaulted the port. Conveniently enough, Israeli officials overlooked that fact and did not attack the Islamists assailants. Instead, members of Egyptian police, and Army were killed.

This is nothing new. Terrorists groups have been supported by foreign regimes. The United States, Israel, rich Arab states, and most European states provided political, financial, and military support to the Muslim Brotherhood and terrorist factions inside Egypt. This support included illegally transferred money and pressure on the Egyptian Supreme Military Council to help the Muslim Brotherhood in imposing Islamic Law despite opposition from the overwhelming majority of Egyptians.

To abort the revolution, Islamists and the Muslim Brotherhood protested around the Israeli Embassy for days, seeking distraction from the revolution’s demands to abroad. Their call for an Egyptian-Israeli confrontation, and cutting relation, failed because they are a minority and the majority no longer trusts them. Make no mistake; the Islamists’ protest was a game. They hoped by protesting the Israelis, they would win the majority over. This was not the case.

The Islamists and Salafis declared Sinai an “Islamic Emirate.” They initiated huge terror attacks on police precincts and other government offices in Alarish, the capital city of Northern Sinai. At the same time, they took over Tahrir Square in a show off day, on July 29, 2011.

United States, Israel, European Countries, and Arab Gulf States must follow ACU and the majority of Egyptians condemn all Islamists groups and Parties for their threats of violence in establishing a theocratic state in Egypt, and their continuous attempts to impose Shariaa Laws.

However, if the United States and Israel still insist on supporting the Islamists and Muslim Brotherhood, then the majority of Egyptians will insist on opposing the United States and Israel.

It’s in the interests of both Egypt and Israel to secure Sinai and the border from being taken over by terrorists. The Egyptians and Israelis must find a way to secure Sinai as well as drastically reform the Camp David Accords of 1979.

The Camp David Accords of 1979, were bad example, and have failed to attract other countries like Syria, and Iran. After more than 30 years of “peace” between Israel and Egypt, there have been many negative outcomes. This treaty resulted in tyranny, corruption, persecution, killing, and economic strangulation on most Egyptians.

Despite repeated calls on President Obama and the US government, and Congress to use its political capital to improve human rights in Egypt, the United States has been very reluctant to do so. Even after the revolution of January 25, the Supreme Military Council has shown little support for Coptic demands such as the removal of the 2^nd Amendment to the Constitution, which imposed Islamic Laws on the populace. The Council must establish Egyptian Language, along with Arabic, as the official languages of Egypt; prosecute those who committed crimes against Coptic Christians; compensate victims; and settle all other human rights violations.

The backwards foreign policy of the United States must change. Their continued support for the Muslim Brotherhood and Salafis is a threat to the Copts, the majority of Egyptian people, and the interest of US in the Middle East.

USA Must Start A Rescue Mission For Egypt Now and show strong Support to Millions of Protesting Copts in the Heart of Cairo!!

American Coptic Union is sending this urgent message to President Barack Obama, US State Department, and US Congress.

Saudi Arabia and its Wahabbi regime are setting fire in Egypt in general, and to Egyptian Copts in particular.

First we would like to share President Obama, and American people the rejoice of killing Usama Ben Laden the head of Al-Qaeda. In addition, we also would like to express our appreciation to the President Obama, and the great people of America for their stand and support for our long time demand removing the dictator of Egypt, Mubarak.

Despite the importance of Ben Laden’s killing, this incomplete victory should not hold US back from achieving the ultimate goal of USA in eradicating Al-Qaeda from the Middle East and especially in Egypt.

Although the repeated call to USA officials paying attention, during the dictatorship era of Mubarak regime, for the growing danger of terror organization and network in Egypt, these calls have not taken seriously.

Mubarak regime had adopted a very dangerous policy by embracing the Islamic organizations for decades to scare the US, Israel, and EU from even thinking in supporting any kind of change in Egypt. Therefore, the ousted regime recruit, protect, and finance Al-Jama’at Al Eslamiya, Islamic Jihad, and Muslim Brotherhood, in addition to the support of Saudi Arabia regime.

Since the fall of Mubarak, Al-Jama’at Al Islamiya, and Islamic Jihad have changed their name to Salafists. They intended to elude the World that their previous crimes against humanity are forgotten. Now Salafists with support of Muslim Brotherhood are trying to hijacking the peaceful and civilized revolution to replace Mubarak regime to rule Egypt by same terror means, committing crimes against humanity, especially against Egyptian Copts, and moderate Muslims.

Over the course of 100 days only, Al-Qaeda network in Egypt have launched more than 50 attacks on Christian Churches and communities, including massacres in which hundreds killed, and injured, and many others disappeared and kidnapped.

To be honest United States and the West have supported the policy of the former regime under the banner of “stability”. It’s clear now that what was called stability proved to be fake and led to the spread of terror and established a safe haven to Al-Qaeda in Egypt, where tens of thousands of its members are enjoying the freedom to be a spike on the back of the Egypt and Israel at the same time.

Last Month, Jihadists –Salafists and Arab Tribes declared their first Islamic State (Emirate) in Qena in Upper Egypt. Raising the Saudi Flags, cutting the only Railways that connect Upper Egypt to its Lower, blocking the Highways, and erecting a terrorist Sheikh as ruler to that Islamic Emirate.

In the recent attacks on Coptic Churches in Embabah, the Army, and police force did not interfere to stop the killing of more than 60 innocent unarmed Christian under their watch. Not only this, the Army arrested many injured Copts and victims accusing them with false charges, some of them arrest while receiving treatment of their wounds.

It’s clear fact that the Army does not want and capable for going after and facing the huge Al-Qaeda network, and its branches including its infrastructures, because, first the Army is so small that can’t clean up Egypt from this cancer, and secondly, the Army is lacking the support of the US, and the west to do this mission particularly they are not trained to Cities and Guerilla warfare. Adding to that, security weakness due to the absence of strong police force.

Finally, we would like to address the following point to be considered by President Obama, and US Congress:

United States must discuss and pressure the Supreme Military Council in Egypt to destroy and exterminate all Salafists-Jihadists of Al-Qaeda and its infrastructure in Egypt.
Because of Egypt’s Army is not ready and trained for such mission, United States must join the Egyptian Army in this humanitarian mission with EU participation covered by UN approval.
We are certain that this mission will be supported by millions of Muslims and Christian, because both of them have fed up of the Salafists barbarian actions even against Muslim people and institutions.

Finally, time is running out, and acting immediately before is too late is highly recommended. Please remember that that action would permanently change the Middle East to a better peaceful place for every and all people live in this flammable region.

ACU and peace loving people, Human Right Activists, and freedom of religion supporters are shocked and disturb with the White House invitation to Mubarak and his son for the direct peace talks between Israel and Palestinians. It is obvious and clear that Mubarak has no interest in achieving a successful peace between the parties.

This invitation is a wrong message to all of us on the light of the presence of his son who is planning to inherits his father position as if it were a real estate issue. This invitation to both of them is a slap on the face for those who believe in your position on promoting democracy in Egypt. His participation with his son is truly the opposite rather that their presence is a real obstacles for the intended peace.

Mubarak, his son and others officials in the regime are partners in the Anti-Christians movement in the Middle East and in the USA. Their crimes against Humanity has been reported to the UN Human Rights in a complain submitted by ACU, on Aug, 18, 2010.

Hosting Gamal Mubarak in the White House is a clear message that United States of America is a clear support for his plan to steal the election which is already will be cheated for his favor. Other candidates, Dr. ElBaradie, and Dr. Ayman Nour should not be punished because they believe in democratic free election.

More, hosting Mubarak and his son is a clear negative message, at this particular time, that US is supporting the Anti-Christians of which Mubarak and his son are active member in that movement, in addition to their violating freedom of religion against Egyptian Coptic Christians, who are facing genocide and terror of that vicious regime.

The American Coptic Union (ACU) Submits a Complaint to United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights

On August 17, 2010, the ACU issued a complaint on behalf of the oppressed Coptic Christians of Egypt to the OHCHR. This complaint was filed against President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt; Interior Minister Muhammed Habib AlAdley; Chairman of Committee of Policies of the NDP (ruling party) Gamal Mubarak; Speaker of Parliament Fat’hey Suror; and Speaker of Shura Council Safwat ElSherif. They are accused for their criminal policies and practice of crimes against humanity and genocide against Coptic Christians in Egypt. The crimes include:

Islamization in America is a serious and dangerous matter, more so than the financial crisis America is facing right now. This is not to confuse Islamization with regular Muslims. Islamists spread along with anti-Christian ideology of hatred, racism, sexism, and encourage Sharia (Islamic) law in society. Muslims are just regular followers of the religion of Islam. There is no doubt that Muslims in America, like Christians and Jews, have the constitutional right to build a place of worship.

They still have the same right to build a Mosque in Ground Zero as long as

New York City’s Mayor and authority approve the project despite sensitivity and hurting Americans’ feeling. The question puzzling us as American Christians is why New York City Council, and Mayor were quick to approve immediately to build Cordoba mosque in Ground Zero location, while they suspiciously showed procrastination to permit re-building the Greek Orthodox Church that destroyed in 9/11 attacks and was already stand at that location, also they did not seriously investigate a fire in a Catholic church in the Bronx which served the people of this Community?

However, that Mosque was not built for the sole purpose of worship. No, it was built by Islamists to pursue an anti-Christian agenda in the United States. Even the name of the Mosque, Cordoba, is symbolic of historical anti-Christian sentiment. The name Cordoba indicates an anti-Christian alliance was formed in the Spanish province of Andalucía and was a main cause for the Crusades. This Andalucía alliance also burned numerous churches in Egypt and Palestine, including the Resurrection Church in Jerusalem, shortly after the Fatimid took control of Egypt.

Why there is such a fervent propaganda campaign against the Cordoba Mosque while the number of Mosques and Islamic centers has quadrupled since 9/11, while Muslim population did not increased at the same rate? And why Islamists picked that particular location?

Some numbers are helpful in answering this important question. The number of Mosques and Islamic centers in 2001 were about 1500. Now, there are more than 6000. While Catholic churches, schools, and hospitals are going bankrupt and closing down, Islamic places of worship increased tremendously in the last decade.

There are reasons why Islamists want to build the Cordoba Mosque in New York City. First, Islamists already acquitted before American’s public opinion from the 9/11 attacks. Second, since New York City is home to quite a number of Jews, the Cordoba Mosque is a gesture of peace from the Islamists. This is a reminder to them of their past cooperation in Andalucía during the Arab occupation of Spain.

This reckless resolution taken by the authorities of New York City, that we all love, and our hearts go out to those who lost loved on the attack. The resolution is a reward and sanitization for the Islamists that committed this heinous crime against 3000 Americans -- mostly Christians. It also represents a victory for Osama bin Laden, the most wanted terrorist in the world; he is still out of the hands of American justice. Also, the permit at this particular place would save and clean the image of Islamists and Jihadists.

As American Christians, we welcome peace between Muslims and Jews. However, our main concern is a religious-based alliance and ideology. The current situation of Middle Eastern Christians made us alert the American people of this legitimate concern.

Allowing political Islamization and anti-Christian policy to spread in the United States would result in religious and cultural wars that would destroy the Western world and culture.

We have no intention of hurting the feelings of Muslims. Our main concern is politicizing Islam in a way that divides American society by creating religious alliances. Studying the Islamization of the Middle East over the last 30 years is a must and a national security issue for the United States. Christian communities in countries such as Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq, and the former Yugoslavia face their worst period in history because of political Islamization and anti-Christian agendas. There is an anti-Christian crusade on Christians and Western culture.

The anti-Christian movement is gaining more influence every day, helping Islamists at the expense of Christianity. In Europe, numerous incidents show Muslims being “persecuted” by depriving them from building Minarets in Switzerland and wearing the Burqa (veil) in France. At the same time, Mosques are being built and Islamic centers are expanding services to convert Christians. Legislation and court orders are issues to limit Christian culture and practices in Christian countries in order to avoid hurting the feelings of Islamists.

In England, for instance, the Bishop of Canterbury, the origin of British and American Christianity, supports Sharia law for Muslims instead of British common law. Despite hundreds of Mosques across England, the Bishop allows Muslims to use churches for prayer. In Italy, the crucifix is now banned in Italian schools to destroy Catholic Christianity.

In America, anti-Christian sentiment is booming. The Catholic Church is facing an existential threat. The Coptic Orthodox church is under severe pressure from the Mubarak regime’s intelligence agency, a main partner in the anti-Christian alliance. Other Christian denominations are infiltrated by anti-Christians as well.

Even some churches are helping the anti-Christian movement by generating sympathy for Islamists. They depict Muslims as being deprived from freedom of religion and persecuted. This is designed to fool the American people into sympathizing with Islamists. For instance, a church in Gainesville, Florida decided to burn the Quran, the book of Islam. This is not Christian practice to burn any book. Churches during the pagan and heretic periods of history did not even do this. The Gainesville church also gave the al-Azhar institute a chance to condemn Christians and show that Muslims are persecuted. The church in Gainesville must cancel its plan immediately.

Anti-Christian policy is evident even in domestic issues such as immigration. The anti-Christian movement in America is targeting Catholic immigrants from Central and South America trying to escape the capitalist-imposed poverty in their respective countries. According to the 2004 Kennedy-McCain Immigration Bill, approximately 700,000 illegal immigrants enter the United States annually. On the other hand, thousands of international flights land every day with people from the Middle East and Asia staying illegally in the US after their Visas expire.

Anti-Christians have had tremendous success in helping Islamization destroy Christianity in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. Although it is widely known and documented that Saudi Arabia and Egypt perpetrated the 9/11 attacks, US foreign policy considers these countries to be “strong allies” and “close friends.” They allow them to expand Islam but hurt Christianity under the banner of “peace in the Middle East.” No one seems to hold 9/11 against these countries. Instead, they are rewarded without impunity. September 11 conspiracy is not over yet.

Mubarak’s Regime Continues to Raid and Loot the Tombs of the ancient Egyptians, the ancestors of the Copts.

Dear Madam,

The recent events directed at the Coptic Christians of Egypt are not only despicable, but contribute to the cultural genocide of Egypt and its sons. The Copts face genocide, ethnic cleansing, rape, and kidnapping on a daily basis. Hundreds of Coptic businesses and churches are also destroyed every year, further condemning the Copts to dictatorship and leaving them defenseless against oppression. Since the Copts cannot defend their rights, the government under President Hosni Mubarak continues to raid and loot the tombs of the ancient Egyptians, the ancestors of the Copts.

Recent months featured the unearthing of dozens of tombs of ancient Egyptian pharaohs, including 57 burial places discovered in Al-Fayoum. But what is to say that these archaeologists are not hired by the Mubarak regime rather than an independent organization? Reports from the New York Sun and Huffington Post indicate that several ancient Egyptian artifacts and art were stolen from tombs. The Mubarak regime continues to excavate in upper Egypt and refuses to explain the sudden disappearance of these ancient artifacts. Yet, the international community continues to ignore these cultural crimes because they have regional and political interests with Egypt.

The Mubarak regime also employs the policy of eminent domain, or the taking of private property, for its own use. The government seizes Coptic graveyards in one of the oldest cemeteries in Akhmim, and Luxor in Upper Egypt, They remove tombs and caskets without regard for the Copts’ rights to property. The graveyards are then sold to foreign investors and corporations.

The American Coptic Union (ACU) asks UNESCO to do the following:

Condemn the actions of the Mubarak regime regarding ancient artifacts and property owned by the Copts.
Demand the return of the stolen artifacts and property back to the Coptic people.
Implement policies and regulations designed to prevent further looting and corruption by the government in the ancient tombs.

ElBaradei is the Only Hope for True Democracy in Egypt

Egypt is now preparing for a presidential election that will determine the status of democracy in

that country for at least another generation. For a similar period, it will affect US interests and

policies in the Middle East, as well the prospects for peace in that most dangerous region. The

survival of Egyptian Copts, an estimated 15 million out of an mostly Muslim population of more

than 80 million, is also at stake. For most of the past 30 years, the regime of Hosni Mubarak has

retained power through election fraud and suppression of the international norms of an open,

democratic society. In the 2005 presidential election, the opposition candidate, Dr. Ayman Nour,

was imprisoned and sentenced to 5 years at hard labor and banned from ever holding public

office. Independent observers agree unanimously that this was a fraud. Now a new potential

opposition candidate with impeccable credentials is being proposed. Mohamed ElBaradei is a

Nobel Peace Prize winner and the former director of the International Atomic Energy Agency

(IAEA), a United Nations body. He is expected to form a coalition of disparate opposition

elements that include Copts The Muslim Brotherhood as well as other opposition parties. He is

just starting a carefully managed tour in the US to gather political, financial and media support.

Meanwhile, the Mubarak regime is attempting to pass the office to one of Mubarak’s sons. That

effort is reinforced by election laws, passed by the Mubarak controlled legislators, that many

observers believe will prevent ElBaradei from even getting on the ballot. But, the Muslim

Brotherhood, despite being officially banned and definitely no friend to Mubarak, openly

controls a significant number of the Parliamentary votes that the Egyptian constitution requires

for a place on the presidential ballot. Together with Coptic and other minority support, the

candidacy of ElBaradei begins to appear Possible, but is admittedly a real long shot, especially

absent pressure from the USA.

Copts are Members of one of the world’s oldest Christian churches, founded AD 42, at

least a dozen years before the Roman Catholic Church in Rome. In modern times, they have

become the target of such wide-spread assaults in Egypt that their numbers are declining. Human

rights organizations Reports there have been tens of thousands of forced conversions to Islam.

Some say that that there appears to be a campaign of kidnapping, rape and forced marriage of

young Coptic girls and women to those who kidnapped them.

Others cite widespread destruction of their schools and entire communities. For their

part, the Muslim Brotherhood presents itself as opposed to sectarian violence and in fact has its

own history of being persecuted by the Mubarak regime. The BBC and other media have

regularly reported mass arrests and secret imprisoning. However, there have been few reports of

violence by, or against the Muslim Brotherhood similar to those regarding the Coptic minority.

Meanwhile, the US State Department is playing a dangerous game of trying to appear as

a neutral ally, but not so neutral as to upset the Mubarak regime. So we recently had the recent

said spectacle of the US Department of State quoted in Foreign Policy Magazine as

acknowledging the “anti-Christian” campaign but declining to urge the Mubarak regime to clean

up its dismal and dangerous repression of Copts or to call for genuine, open and fair democratic

elections.

This systemic unwillingness to confront the human rights record of our alleged

international “friends” only does us harm. We are exposed as hypocritical to the one moral

position to which we might lay claim. The violators take support from our silence, for that’s what

silence in the face of repression is. That silence only comforts and encourages even more

repression, and persecution.

Yet, like all hypocritical positions, we gain nothing from it but the dubious loyalty of less than

genuine friends.

As long as an ElBaradei or any other democratic candidate is kept off the ballot, as long

as Coptic innocents are put to the sword of conversion, as long as the USA declines to speak

truth on these subjects, we lose the respect and forfeit the trust of those who would be our

genuine allies. All the forces and factors in that explosive region are noting our cynical approach

of wanting friends at any cost to our self-respect. They surely recognize that every day of USA’s

tacit approval of the status quo in Egypt is one step closer to the day we will again regret having

supported a repressive regime. That’s how we got where we are in Iraq. It is at the foundation of

our situation in Afghanistan. It was at the core of Vietnam. Proponents of that kind of

“diplomacy” claims it is realistic and practical. But what could ever be more realistic and

practical than supporting genuine, open, democratic elections in Egypt?

Dear Madam;

Thank you for your reply to our remarks and concern regarding Ms. Chapman’s statement to the Egyptian Al Masry Alyoum newspaper.

First, we apologize for our error in Ms. Nicole’s name and title. We have corrected our records.

Secondly, despite the welcome comment that US is not against ElBaradei, it unfortunately continues, by omission, to imply US support for Mubarak. Further, we wish to point out that a vague support for “reform” is seriously inadequate in addressing the outrages and human rights violations that continue under his regime against an innocent population who’s only “offense” is their Christian faith.

Silence is complicity. Mubarak understands that what you do not oppose, you accept; what you do not criticize, you approve. You owe the Egyptian people, more than your tacit approval.

Thirdly, your most recent reply ignored the crisis of Egyptian Copts. Ms. Chapman minimized the officially sanctioned attacks on them as “intimidating.” That would be an appropriate word for a threat. But the crimes against innocent people are reality. There is a physical, religious and cultural genocide underway.

In 1938, at the Evian Conference, the US walked away from the impending holocaust with the same complicit attitudes that now abandon Egyptian Copts. Recently, the US condemned atrocities 95 years ago in another middle-eastern country that are all too similar to those now underway in Egypt.

We strongly suggest that a position more worthy of the United States of America would be proactive public and private objection specific to the crimes and unequivocal in its aversion to the perpetrators. That alone will avoid the need for another too-late apology decades after the complicity.

We respectfully urge the USA to openly acknowledge the plain fact of the Mubarak regime’s anti-Christian policy and actions. We ask that your office issue a public statement condemning the genocide of Egyptian Copts. Finally, we ask that a corrective statement be made that clarifies that the US neither opposes El Baradei’s presidential candidacy nor does it support the candidacy of Mubarak.

ElBaradei’s Policy Is Right To Engage Muslim Brotherhood

In recent months, many newspapers and members of the US media showed no sympathy for the people of Egypt, who desperately seek freedom and dignity. Some of these newspapers insulted and falsely accused Dr. Ayman Nour, former Egyptian presidential candidate, of being anti-Semitic. A recent report by Foreign Policy Magazine expressed support for the Mubarak regime despite the regime’s crimes against humanity and anti-Christian sentiment. They also criticize ElBaradei for his campaign of freedom and dignity for all Egyptians.

Foreign Policy’s statement of ElBaradei joining main stream Islamists is not true. He reached out to opposition groups, activists, and the Coptic community in Egypt and abroad. He is a supporter of Coptic human rights in Egypt and calls for an end to the genocide and ethnic cleansing against the Copts.

ElBaradei’s primary goal is to change the Egyptian Constitution that favors Mubarak and his son’s desire to continue that dictatorship.

It is strange and hypocritical for a respected foreign policy publication to recognize, but without critical comment, a despotic constitution such as Mubarak’s that denies basic human rights according to international law.

The magazine disparages ElBaradei, claiming he lacks a constituency. Such statements by their editors merely parrot the official line of the regime, designed to lower his appeal to the people of Egypt and make the American people reluctant to support him. The lack of a past incumbency and the lack of a constituency are not the same thing at all. Despite blatant repression, a great many Egyptians are widely known to support the democratic policies that ElBaradei proposes.

Although the American Coptic Union (ACU) disagrees with the Muslim Brotherhood on many issues, comparing them to the Mubarak regime is unfair. The ACU supports ElBaradei’s policy of inclusion. He knows they cannot be ignored. They are a political force in Egypt. The US government has held negotiations with the Brotherhood and supports their 20% role in the People’s Council (Parliament). ElBaradei wants the Brotherhood to work within the public spectrum, not as an underground movement. Some of the effective governments in the world are based on a live and functioning coalition such as ElBaradei proposes. In fact, it might be said that many of the political stagnation in the USA today is the lack of functioning bipartisanship that has effectively suffocated balanced governance.

It cannot be denied or ignored that the Mubarak regime, not the Muslim Brotherhood, is responsible for deliberate crimes in Egypt against humanity, ethnic cleansing, genocide, kidnapping and raping of the Copts. The Mubarak regime is, on the face of it, far more dangerous to Egyptians of all religious and political persuasions than the Brotherhood.

While US Department of State Egyptian Desk Director Nicole Chapman acknowledged anti-Christian sentiment in Egypt, the Foreign Policy overlooks it. While US media criticize Iran for its harsh treatment, and poor record in Human Rights, FP Magazine, and others are continue to praise and support the Mubarak regime, despite their obvious but undeclared agenda, which is in most cases against US interest in the Middle East. Some media outlets cry for women’s rights in Afghanistan. While that is wholly justified and laudable, it is careless and irresponsible to ignore the crimes against 500,000 Coptic women who have been kidnapped, raped and forced to convert and marry with Muslim perpetrators.

We call on the American people, the America Media and the American Government, through the US State Department, to support ElBaradei’s freedom movement in Egypt. We ask that all media, print and electronic, demand just for all Egyptians. American Coptic Union speaks again, responsibly and forthrightly, demanding justice for all Egyptians, as well as for Egyptian Copts.

American Coptic Union Calls for Equal US Respect for Egyptian Presidential Candidates

The American Coptic Union (ACU) protests the recent statement by US Department of State Egyptian Desk Director Nicole Chapman regarding the current Egyptian political spectrum. Chapman said, “[her] country would not support Mohamed ElBaradei if he decided to run in Egyptian presidential elections slated for next year.”

This apparent washing of the hands in the name of dubious impartiality is actually an endorsement of a regime that maintains its power through intimidation, violence, and genocide. A claim of “non-interference”, when the issue is justice and human rights, should be exposed as the endorsement of repression that it really is.

Chapman also told US reporters that the US was not concerned with “specific personalities.” However, she singles out ElBaradei, but does not say the same about Mubarak.

At the same time Chapman stated that the US would not support ElBaradei, she failed to say that the US would not support Mubarak in the presidential election. This clearly demonstrates US hypocrisy and favoritism regarding Mubarak and the Coptic genocide in Egypt.

Coptic Christians, as well as Muslims, see ElBaradei as the only hope to end Mubarak’s “reign of terror” for crimes against humanity, ethnic cleansing, and genocide against the Copts.

The Egyptian people see the United States of America as the last great hope of the world, the symbol of freedom, liberty, and democracy. However, with the current statement, the US has narrowed its interests to fit the interests of Mubarak’s despotic regime and his family, while the needs of the Egyptian people are ignored.

We would like to offer Ms. Chapman a small thanks for acknowledging anti-Christian sentiment in Egypt. However, she then went on to say, “What happens to the Copts is intimidating.”

That is very soft language for an outrageous and violent repression of human rights. The Mubarak regime kidnapped and raped Coptic girls, raided villages, killed innocent Copts, and burned Coptic homes, businesses, and churches. Her mild criticism is not even a slap on the wrist and that actually facilitates Mubarak’s campaign of terror and genocide.

Coptic Christians wish to hear the US Department of State speak on behalf of releasing the Coptic blogger, Hany Nazeir, who has been imprisoned for more than three years and is being tortured in attempts to convert him to Islam. Mr. Nazeir’s ominous fate has never been mentioned in any official US statements. How is such repression in Egypt any different from the often protested repressions of similar individuals in China, Russia, Myanmar and other dictatorships?

The ACU is looking for Ms. Chapman and the US Department of State to correct her recent statements and to fairly readdress the election issues by affirming that the US will treat all presidential candidates equally. Furthermore, the ACU and the Coptic Community in the US, Egypt, and abroad hope that the US Department of State will demand an immediate end to genocide against the Copts and end its own policy of silence that tacitly approves continued human rights violations in Egypt.

The American Coptic Union (ACU) and the Coptic community in the United States of America demand the expulsion of Sameh Fahmy, Egypt’s ambassador to the United States.

Mr. Fahmy’s recent incendiary comments and involvement in controversial activities would result in retaliation by Islamists and terrorists against the defenseless Coptic Christians of Egypt. More massacres, rape, and kidnappings will surely follow.

On Saturday, March 13, 2010, he informed an Arabic newspaper, Alquds, of his discussion of some Egyptian dissidents without any pretexts. This will inflame and intensify the genocide, ethnic cleansing, and crimes against humanity against the Copts.

The Ambassador expressed undesired and unrequested issues regarding the Copts, such as “autonomy separation” and the hiring of Blackwater Security forces for protection. Blackwater, notorious for its war crimes in Iraq, is hated in the Middle East. If they “protect” the Copts, terrorists will surely target more Coptic people and villages. The Copts cannot even pray in their own homes, let alone ask for security. Mr. Fahmy wants to portray the Copts as traitors and separatists.

The issues of autonomy and protection are excuses for the Mubarak regime to continue committing crimes against Copts. They will incite Islamists and terrorists to kill more Copts, raid more villages, and kidnap and rape more women. The regime’s survival is based on Coptic genocide to distract the general public from government actions, or lack thereof.

The regime is also using the Coptic situation to take attention away from independent presidential candidate Dr. Mohamed El Baradei. He is set to challenge widely unpopular incumbent President Mubarak, or his son, Gamal Mubarak.

The regime is painting Dr. Baradei as a Coptic sympathizer in order to stump his popularity. Last week, Islamists and Mubarak’s National Democratic Party (NDP) sabotaged a rally in Al Fayum City, accusing Dr. Baradei of supporting Copts instead of his own country.

The United States’ interests in the Middle East are already in jeopardy. Continuing to deal with Mr. Fahmy, and Mubarak regime will result in more instability in Egypt and would further jeopardize US interests.

Therefore, the American Coptic Union is seeking the following:

The immediate expulsion of Mr. Fahmy from United States.
Despite our repeated request for the US Congress to take serious actions against the regime for its violations of human rights, our calls are go unheard. Therefore, we request the US Congress to reconsider relations with the Mubarak regime and put US interests first. The US Coptic community is frustrated because of US foreign policies of “Anti-Christianity” and “Anti-Copts,” and seeks the reversal of treating Copts as if they were “Al-Qaeda”.
We still see President Obama as the most serious defender of human rights. Thus, we call upon him to interfere on our behalf and put an end to the violation of human rights by the Mubarak regime.

The American Coptic Union (ACU) would like to thank United States President Barack Obama for his support for Coptic Christian human rights in Egypt.

Recently, the United Nations Human Rights Council reviewed the status of human rights and freedom of religion in Egypt. No recommendations or resolutions arose from the UN to make the Mubarak regime to comply with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other human rights treaties. The ACU and the Coptic community in the United States still hope President Obama, Congress, and the United States government will help ease the genocide and ethnic cleansing against the Coptic Christians in Egypt.

Mubarak, however, continues to defy these human rights treaties. He did not delete the second amendment of the Egyptian Constitution, which rules the government through Sharia, or Islamic, law. He did not nullify the laws that do not criminalize terrorists for massacres on Coptic villages. On January 6, 2010, Islamic extremists opened fire on a Coptic church in Nag Hammadi, killing six Copts and wounding dozens more. Although the Egyptian government brought the terrorists to trial, the “justice” quickly ended. The police arrested, tortured, and killed dozens of Copts who witnessed the massacre. This is a blatant violation of civil, political, and human rights.

After the Nag Hammadi massacre, American delegates from several human rights commissions visited Egypt and met with government officials regarding the Coptic situation. Until now, however, no comprehensive report of their findings was sent to the Department of State and no necessary action was taken to curb the oppression against the Copts. The regime showed no intention to improve the situation nor amend current laws that systematically persecute Copts.

The ACU and the Coptic community in the United States requests the following from the White House:

President Obama speak on behalf of the voiceless victims to restore their unalienable rights and to demand the return of more than 500,000 Coptic girls kidnapped by terrorists under the cover of the regime.
White House address the anti-Christian movement in the Middle East. Take necessary measures to stop illegal actions against Christians in the Middle East. United States go to the UN to protect Christian rights and pressure countries to pass laws criminalizing those who commit anti-Christian crimes.
Adjust or change foreign policy and curb anti-Christian movements in the Middle East.

We hope the White House takes these requests into consideration to end the oppression against the Copts, the native people of Egypt. Thanks and God Bless.

Egypt: "The Disappearance, Forced Conversions, and Forced Marriages of Coptic Christian Women in Egypt"

The American Coptic Union (ACU), since 1997, has called for a UN investigation regarding crimes against humanity against Coptic women committed by the Mubarak regime and its terrorist militants. The ACU calls upon the UN Human Rights Council to adopt this report and send it to the International Criminal Court (ICC) to prosecute the perpetrators, including Egyptian Interior Ministers, SSI directors, officers, and the head of the regime.

"Reports of Muslim men abducting and forcibly marrying and converting Coptic Christian women and girls have filtered out of Egypt with increasing frequency over the past decade. The emergingpatterns of force, fraud and coercion correspond to definitions of human trafficking used by the United Nations and the U.S. Department of State., with the UN identifying it as a 'crime against humanity'.1 These violations of fundamental human rights appear to be encouraged by the prevalence of cultural norms in Egypt - often rooted in Islamic traditions – that legitimize violence against women and non-Muslims. They appear to be further abetted by the tacit complicity of the government as evidenced by its lack of willingness to thoroughly investigate allegations of rape, abduction and abuse or to reinstate policies designed to protect Egyptians from coerced conversion by educating potential converts of the full implications of conversion."

"Details of trafficking cases involving Copts often reach the West through desperately worried relatives of victims. When the Egyptian police fail to find and return (or often even search for) victims of abduction, forced marriage and conversion, some relatives summon the courage to release information and photos to Coptic human rights organizations in the diaspora."

"The violent abuse of Coptic women and girls in connection with forced marriage and conversion is not altogether new. The Patriarch of the Coptic Orthodox Church, Pope Shenouda III, protested against this phenomenon in 1976, declaring: 'There is pressure being practiced to convert Coptic girls to Islam and marry them under terror to Muslim husbands.'2 But the issue has now reached boiling point within Egypt's Coptic community."

"As the prestigious Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram Weekly recently noted:

'It is the question of the alleged conversion and forced marriage of Coptic girls to Muslim men that elicits the greatest passions. In July [2009] alone three separate incidents received much publicity in the press. Pharmaceuticals student Rania Tawfik Asaad was ostensibly abducted in Giza and forced to marry a Muslim. Two other cases, those of Marian Bishai, Amira Morgan and Injy Basta, also hit the headlines.'3 "

"Despite the accumulation of substantial evidence and the expressions of concern by the most senior leader of the Coptic community, this aspect of human trafficking has scarcely been acknowledged by the world’s most powerful human rights institutions, including those dedicated to the issue of trafficking in persons. The Coptic Foundation for Human Rights and Christian Solidarity International (CSI) therefore commissioned an anti-trafficking specialist, Michele Clark, and a Coptic women's rights advocate, Nadia Ghaly, to undertake an investigation of allegations surrounding the abductions and forced marriages and conversions to Islam in Egypt. They performed outstanding pioneering work, interviewing victims, their relatives, lawyers, priests and other Coptic community leaders."

"This report documents dozens of specific cases and demonstrates consistent patterns used by the perpetrators, their victims, government and law enforcement, and members of Egypt's faith communities. The report concludes with a valuable set of practical and critical recommendations for the Coptic community, the Government of Egypt and the international community. The findings of Ms. Ghaly and Ms. Clark are deeply disturbing, and should challenge human rights activists and institutions, especially those whose mandate includes women’s rights and trafficking in persons, to undertake, as a matter of urgency, further research into this form of gender and religious based violence against Coptic women and girls in Egypt."

Mubarak Regime Prohibits Opposition Leader from Traveling

On November 3, 2009, President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt issued an executive order banning Dr. Ayman Nour from traveling. Nour, the opposition leader to the Mubarak regime running in the presidential election in 2011, was put on the regime’s watch list. Nour is scheduled to come to the United States on November 21, 2009 to meet with a coalition of Egyptian organizations to discuss the cruxes of his campaign: freedom of religion, human rights, an end to oppression, and anti-succession. While Gamal Mubarak and Fat’hi Suror, the speaker of Parliament, will visit the United States on November 8, 2009, Nour is banned because he shows opposition to the status quo.

The American Coptic Union asks the White House and President Barack Obama to strongly condemn and denounce this illegal executive action against the civil rights of Dr. Nour. We seek President Obama’s help and intervention in cancelling this order so Dr. Nour can visit the United States as planned. We also request that the President not meet with Gamal Mubarak and Fat’hi Suror.

The American Coptic Union would like to congratulate President Barack Obama for winning the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize. Your human rights-based foreign policy inspired and brought hope to millions of oppressed people around the world, especially the Copts of Egypt.

When you gave your address in Egypt on June 4, 2009, you mentioned that human rights must be “upheld […] for […] the Copts in Egypt.” This was the first time a United States President acknowledged the Coptic struggle. Our people are killed, raped, kidnapped, and forced to convert to Islam every day. The fact that you are dedicated to human rights for the Copts gives us a glimmer of hope during a time of darkness.

On behalf of the Copts, the American Coptic Union hopes you that you continue your efforts to bring peace and liberty not only to the Copts, but to people all over the world who need it the most. You are the only hope in the present times. Congratulations on winning the Nobel Peace Prize and may you succeed in your efforts to bring peace to the world. God bless.

Economic Strangulation Against the Copts must stop Immediately

Economic barriers placed in front of the Copts are the main reason for forced conversion to Islam. It is very difficult for Copts to run businesses in Egypt for fear of pressure from the Mubarak regime. Those who do have businesses, however, face severe government pressure and lose their businesses because of their religion. Many Copts are forced to convert to Islam to save their businesses and support their families.

The recent decision by the Mubarak regime to kill all the pigs in Egypt to prevent the H1N1 flu has crippled many Coptic farmers who depend on the pigs for their farms. It has been proven that the pigs are not the cause of the H1N1 flu; the government decided to kill the pigs to economically decimate the Copts. Many Coptic families now are not able to support themselves and have resorted to prostitution and conversion to Islam.

This treatment is unacceptable and against international law. The Mubarak regime is discriminating against the Copts because they are Christian. This economic strangulation must be halted immediately. The United States must pressure Egypt to halt all economic strangulation and cut off all economic aid if this persists.

All Kidnapped Coptic Women Must be Returned to their Families Immediately

Ever since Hosni Mubarak became President of Egypt in 1981, over 500,000 Coptic girls and women have been kidnapped, drugged, and raped by their Muslim captors. A large portion of those kidnapped women were stripped of their kidneys and other internal organs. Those organs were then used to treat Muslim patients.

Economic strangulation placed upon the Copts by the Mubarak Regime has forced many women to become prostitutes or convert to Islam to support their families. Many who refuse are kidnapped, raped, drugged, and murdered. The Mubarak Regime continues to downplay these claims as “false.”

Many of the churches attended by the kidnapped women are attacked and burned to the ground. The churches of those who speak out against the oppression of the Copts are also destroyed.

The American Coptic Union demands that all kidnapped Coptic women must be returned to their respective families immediately. We call upon the United States and the Obama Administration to also demand the release of the kidnapped women.

Copts, in a show of strength, reject Shenouda’s call to cancel Protest

Dr. Ashraf Ramllah, leader of the Coptic organization Voice of the Copts, has rejected Pope Shenouda’s call to cancel the protest against President Hosni Mubarak.

Led by the Coptic Coalition and other Coptic Organizations, the protest lands on the day President Mubarak is scheduled to meet with President Barack Obama. The Copts are protesting the Mubarak Regime’s raping and kidnapping of women, economic strangulation placed upon the Copts, killing of pigs, burning of churches, raids on Coptic villages, and massacres of the Coptic population.

Shenouda, Mubarak’s “greatest ally,” has called on the Copts to cancel the protest and “welcome” Mubarak to the United States. Why should the Copts welcome a man who has oppressed them for 28 years?

Shenouda’s call to cancel the protest is entirely against the interests of the Copts. The Copts are protesting to defend their rights as the native people of Egypt. Shenouda, the “supposed” leader of the Copts, rejects the protest. This protest will help raise awareness about the situation of the Copts and will allow the Obama Administration to take action against the Mubarak Regime. Shenouda, by rejecting the protest, does have the interests of the Copts at heart.

More Treachery: Shenouda asks Copts not to Protest

In his most recent betrayal of the Coptic community, Pope Shenouda has asked the Copts to cancel the protest against President Hosni Mubarak. Mubarak is scheduled to meet with President Barack Obama on Tuesday, August 18, 2009. The protest, led by the Coptic Coalition, is against the Mubarak Regime’s persecution and genocide of the Coptic Christians, the native people of Egypt.

Shenouda’s call to cancel the protest comes weeks after he expressed his support for Gamal Mubarak to succeed his father as President. In a recent interview, he has suggested that Gamal Mubarak would be the “perfect candidate” for the job.

Shenouda’s opposition to the protest signifies his opposition to Coptic interests as a whole. By asking Copts to cancel the protest, he is showing his true colors. He does not support the Coptic people and sees nothing wrong with the status quo. He does not denounce the violence against the Coptic people, the kidnapping and raping of Coptic women, the killing of pigs, the burning of churches, the raids on Coptic villages, and the massacres against the Coptic population. So why does he ask the Copts to cancel a protest in favor of their own interests?

His recent comments reveal that he is not loyal to the Coptic Christians; rather, he is supportive of Mubarak’s terrorism against the Copts. Shenouda must stop this rhetoric at once. The protest will still go on.
