I love to blog, but I also love time and I don't have hardly enough of the latter.

So, expect The American Kiser to be updated much less often than before. I know, it was never updated that often anyway.

But do not fret! I have really, really great news. I've been offered to blog at RFC Radio. The guys running RFC have been great friends of mine for a while. Duane Lester and Andrew Riley run not only RFCradio.com but the most wonderful blog I've ever seen (and actually got me to start blogging) All American Blogger. You should pay both sites a visit and comment on the articles I (and others, but mostly mine) post to RFC.

No, this is not satire. Florida is so cold right now that the non-native iguanas that have been introduced there freeze up into a hibernation state and fall from their treetop perches. Really. Here's a video:

I just know that when liberals hear this they'll exclaim, "climate instability isn't about the weather, it's about the long term climate!" But when do weather trends become climate? Something doesn't add up.

MIchael Barone Gets It Right. The Public Sector Chokes the Private Sector

In his most recent opinion editorial, Michael Barone outlines just why 2009 was a great year to be working for the government.

It looks like a happy new year for you -- if you're a public employee.

That's the takeaway from a recent Rasmussen poll that shows that 46 percent of government employees say the economy is getting better, while just 31 percent say it's getting worse. In contrast, 32 percent of those with private-sector jobs say the economy is getting better, while 49 percent say it is getting worse.

Private-sector employment peaked at 115.8 million in December 2007, when the recession officially began. It was down to 108.5 million last November. That's a 6 percent decline.

Public-sector employment peaked at 22.6 million in August 2008. It fell a bit in 2009, then rebounded back to 22.5 million in November. That's less than a 1 percent decline.

This is not an accident -- it is the result of deliberate public policy. About one-third of the $787 million stimulus package passed in February 2009 was directed at state and local governments, which have been facing declining revenues and are, mostly, required to balance their budgets.

From Hawaii, president Obama made further remarks regarding the attempted bombing of flight 253 by a Nigerian terrorist. When talking about the increased security measures, Obama said:

When our government has information on a known extremist and that information is not shared and acted on as it should have been a systemic failure has occurred, and I consider that unacceptable.”

Thank you. Now, fix it.

Who Wants to See Ben Bernanke Get Grilled?

Senator Jim Bunning is eclectic in many ways. He was the only Senator who refused to vote on health care "reform" on Christmas Eve morning and instead went home to family. Yet, he's also one of the toughest critics against Alan Greenspan and his successor Ben Bernanke. During Bernanke's confirmation hearing not too long ago, Bunning gave Bernanke a swift right hook:

Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) Bunning was essentially forced into retirement after the NRSC told him he wouldn't be able to win in 2010 and they refused to support him. Today we have KY Secretary of State Trey Grayson and Ron Paul's son Rand running as Republicans for his seat. On the Democratic side, Attorney General Jack Conway and Lt. Governor Daniel Mongiardo are running for the seat.

I still am not certain who I support.

Merry Christmas - With A Declaration

For those of you who have been under a rock for roughly 2000 years, today and tomorrow is Christmas Eve and Christmas Day respectively. A time of joy, love and hope for a multitude of reasons. With that in mind I give my best wishes to you, your family and your friends. It is a truly great world and nation we live in, despite all it's problems.

And speaking of those very problems, this Christmas Eve morning at about a quarter 'til 8 the Senate passed a monstrosity of a health care "reform" bill that undermines the very cornerstone of the American Constitution and the American nation as well as the base that this great nation was placed upon: individual freedom, the right to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness and the natural laws of God and nature.

It is with this in mind that we must pledge amongst ourselves a new Declaration of Independence. We the People must break from "the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them."

From this point forward every patriot from sea to shining sea must again "for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor."

The war is not yet over, and perhaps not even the battle.

The Health Care "Reform" Bill is Unconstitutional - Here's Why

It's truly amazing how far a pocket constitution and some Google searches can get you nowadays. That's all I used to come up with this explanation of the unconstitutionality of the ridiculous "reform" bill currently making its way through Congress.

When Democrats got their 60 votes for cloture, passage of the "reform" bill seemed imminent. However, if the bill does pass, they have quite a few challenges coming their way. Click the "Read More" button below to discover just some of those challenges.

Unconstitutional Bribes:

But how did they get to the 60 votes they needed? Mostly by Back room bribes like when they offered Sen. Ben Nelson (D) millions in extra money for Nebraska's Medicaid fund. That in and of itself is unconstitutional. Here's why:

Article 1 Section 8 of the United States Constitution says:

The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States. [Emphasis Added]

When Harry Reid struck a deal with Nelson to take money from the other 49 states and give it to Nebraska he defied the Constitution because those duties, imposts or excises are NOT uniform. Heritage is reporting that the Attorneys General of Alabama, Colorado, Michigan, North Dakota, South Carolina, Texas and Washington state are investigating Ben Nelson's kickback to see if special treatment has been given to one state at the expense of the others.

Mandates Not in Congress' Enumerated Powers:

Also in Section 8 of the Constitution is the list of enumerated powers Congress holds, none of which include health care mandates or anything related to it.

Former Chief Justice John Marshall stated, so America would hopefully never forget,: “The powers of the legislature are defined and limited; and that those limits may not be mistaken, or forgotten, the constitution is written."

But there's more. When the Constitution was ratified, James Madison proposed 10 amendments to pacify those who supported states' rights. Among them, was the tenth amendment:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

So, if anything "universal health care," "public options" and "health care reform" should be up to the respective states if the are even permissive under the state constitutions.

Violation of the 5th Amendment:

The fifth amendment states:

“No person shall … be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.”

By requiring citizens to spend their property (their money) they are being deprived of something that is rightfully theirs. Government cannot come into your home, steal your wallet, take out enough money for health care premiums and go out and spend it for you, so why can they do it this way?

In Conclusion:

If or when this monstrosity of a health care "reform" bill passes it will likely be on a party line vote. When we the people bring up not only the constitutionality of the bill but the cost, the vast expansion of government and the heretofore unheard of encroachment of individual liberty, those who voted to pass it will probably wish they hadn't.

In case you haven't heard, Mitch McConnell has brokered a deal with Reid to make the vote on health care "reform" several hours earlier on Christmas Eve at around 8am rather than in the evening. This way, Senators and staffers can get out of DC before an ice storm and get home to their families (which is understandable).

But when you read what we conservatives had been telling McConnell and other "leaders" all along, you have to wonder why all this is necessary:
RedState:

The Senate Republican Leadership under Mitch McConnell and Lamar Alexander told us to trust them.
They were going to offer a series of “messaging amendments” to point out all the flaws in the health care legislation. The rest of us said no — force a vote on the legislation while the Dems did not have 60 votes.
They ignored us.
Then we said drag out the legislation as long as possible. They ignored us until votes were scheduled, making the dragging out impossible. When the scheduled time for the votes came, it did not matter if the bill was being read, the votes would happen.
Along the way, McConnell and Alexander pooh-poohed anyone who suggested the messaging strategy was doomed to failure.

Well played, Mitch McConnell. Well played indeed. At 8:00 a.m. on Christmas Eve, 60 Democrats will pass legislation that prohibits its own future repeal, then Mitch McConnell will hop a flight to Kentucky, smiling that he and his good friend Harry Reid negotiated a Republican surrender to get out of Washington before an ice storm struck.

I'll give you this isn't even a vote on the final bill, but McConnell needs to speak out more and ask why we are even considering having a vote on Christmas Eve in the first place. What are they hiding ( we know, but it'll look good on the news)?

Speaking of the news, this morning vote means this bill that's already sour in the public eye will be covered on a day when most are off work.

Downside? I have to wake up early now.

Giuliani to Stay Out of NY Senate Race - And Out of Politics Forever

Really, Giuliani? Grow a pair.
Not only was this Giuliani's likely last chance for a spot on the national stage, it's a shame the star power conservatives will be losing with this one.
Not that that seat isn't winnable by conservatives, but this was a missed opportunity for the mayor.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has ruled out a run for the Senate in 2010, NewsCore has learned.
The seat is currently held by Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., who was appointed by Gov. David Paterson when Sen. Hillary Clinton joined the Obama administration as secretary of state.
One source close to the former mayor says that instead of running for office, he will be pursuing other business opportunities in the private sector, noting that after his 2008 presidential run the mayor still has the status within the party and the platform from which “to engage on national issues that are important to him.”
Giuliani is also expected to announce his intention to revive his Solutions America PAC as a vehicle to promote Republican party candidates in 2010, the source said.

Harry Reid Calls $1.2 Billion in Sweetheart Deals “Compromises”

Harry Reid barely got the 60 votes he needed to get cloture on the Senate Health Care Reform bill by giving out special deals to Democrats still holding out. Among the deals were extra money for Ben Nelson's state of Nebraska (to be paid for by other the other 49 states), $250 million more for Vermont's Medicaid fund, as well $300 million for Louisiana - and much more.

To many, those deals were essentially bribes meant to buy votes using other state's money. Harry Reid, who negotiated the deals, disagrees and calls them "compromises."

The Hill:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Monday dismissed criticism his chamber’s healthcare bill was riddled with “sweetheart deals” designed to win skeptical senators’ votes.
Those alleged deals are “compromises” that are commonplace in any piece of legislation, no matter who controls Congress or sponsors the bill in question, Reid told reporters.

No word yet if Reid considers these "compromises" as historic and worthy as the great compromises of the past: three-fifths, Missouri, and 1850.

“Rock the Vote” Has No Dignity - And Thinks You're a Gullible Idiot

What you're about to watch is the equivalent of “Rock the Vote” telling you that "gullible" is written on the ceiling. And they actually think you'll look.

I've never seen anything like this. Sex as a weapon? Riiight. That'll work.

In honor of their (apparently) favorite son, Indonesia has unveiled a statue of a youthful Obama in a park in Jakarta. He's wearing shorts, a t-shirt, and... a Nobel Peace Price. Which is fitting, since he had accomplished as much then as today.

I guess butterflies are a fan, too. Also fitting, butterflies are pretty big on Kool-aid.

To Win or Not to Win, The Answer is Obvious

For years, the so-called "nation" of Afghanistan has been called the "Graveyard of Empires." Today, the American military occupies the vast country in response to a terrorist attack on our soil some 8 years ago. We responded, and we responded with force. A heavy blow was dealt and our enemy has yet to respond in kind.

But that does not mean they no longer can, or don't intend to do so again.

After violence escalated in Afghanistan over the past year, Americans began to doubt our ability to succeed. The current President has decided to send 30,000 more troops to the country to fight the same breed of terrorists who killed 2,996 innocent men and women on September 11th. He has also stated that he intends to stop fighting the war in 2011. Therein lies the problem.

America has, beyond a doubt, the greatest military in the history of Earth. Our troops defeated a Japanese Empire that struck in a way similar to 9/11 - with surprise and malice. At that point in history we did not say that we would fight for 2 years and then submit to defeat if we had not succeeded and it is a mistake to do so today. We fought to the finish to defeat the perpetrators of a heinous act.

What America needs to succeed in the War in Afghanistan is not "exit-ramps" or "end games". Our military needs the power to use the resources they need, in the manner they need them to destroy the threat our peaceful nation is facing.

Do not allow the Taliban and Al Qaeda to wait us out, Mr. President. Our security and the fate of the War on terror depends on it.

The Famous "Hockey Stick" Graph With Actual Data

When you take the excluded data and put it in place of the falsified data the results are quite shocking. Below is the original "hockey stick" graph:

Election Day - Here's How I See It

This is officially the last election day I'll ever have to suffer through without being eligible to vote, but it's OK because out here, we don't have any elections going on. There is, however some heavily contested elections going on in select parts of the country. I'm gonna do my best to break them down and make some predictions.

Virginia Gubernatorial ^[1] Race

This one is pretty easy to call. Deeds has been getting a serious spanking in the polls as of late and frankly, for much of the race. The RCP average has his Republican challenger up 13.4% an insurmountable lead even if you count fake ballots and margin of error in a state that has gotten indigestion from the Kool-Aid.

Joe Scarborough comments on the race and the liberal spin after Obama won Virginia by mocking his colleague Keith Olbermann, and it's worth a peek.

New Jersey Gubernatorial Race

The apparently awesome-named chubby Chris Christie (R)has been trudging along lately in a hotly contested race against the (conceitedly svelte, yet ugly bearded) incumbent Jon Corzine (D). There's a spoiler independent named Dagget in the race but really, his support is lagging and his turnout will likely be low on account of Christie being Dagget supporters second choice.

My call is a Corzine win. I'd love to see Christie win (still, were there no alternatives?) but the race is too close in a democratic ACORN corrupt state for a Republican to pull it off.

NY-23 Conservative vs. GOP Candidate Endorsed Democrat

Sarah Palin said it best earlier in her reply on Facebook to Biden's criticism to her "energy policy" when she said "Hoffman, Baby, Hoffman!" Every right-minded conservative out there should be and is rooting for this third party, conservative candidate against the SEIU, ACORN supported Owens. The polls are scattered but I'm calling it for Hoffman - as any hopeful, thinking conservative would.

TIME's Joe Klein: Fox "Spreads Seditious Lies"

Joe Klein writes a regular column for TIME magazine (which I subscribe to) and it's never very pleasing to the conservative eye or ear. For example, read this snip from one of his blogs:

"I don’t understand why the White House would give such poisonous helium balloons as Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity the opportunity for still greater spasms of self-inflation by declaring war on Fox.

If the problem is that stories bloated far beyond their actual importance—ACORN’s corruption, Van Jones’s radical past—are in danger of leaching out of the Fox hothouse into the general media, then perhaps the Administration should be a bit more diligent about whom it hires and whom it funds.
If the problem is broader—that Fox News spreads seditious lies to its demographic sliver of an audience—the Administration should probably be stoic: the wingnuts will always be with us. The best antidote to their garbage is elegant, intelligent governance."

What I see here isn't a legitimate point. I see fear. As I'm sure Klein's mother told him, name calling doesn't get you anywhere, unless of course you need to polarize your audience toward your side. Just look at this one line: "I don’t understand why the White House would give such poisonous helium balloons as Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity the opportunity for still greater spasms of self-inflation..." It was pretty air-headed move. Then Klein calls what is coming out of Fox News "seditious" and that;s just a lie.

What's more, read this from Say Anything:

Sedition is defined as “Conduct or language inciting rebellion against the authority of a state.” And, in an earlier time in this nation’s history, it was also defined as “false, scandalous, and malicious writing against the government or its officials” in the Sedition Act passed under the John Adams administration.
Adams and his Federalists were afraid of the growing power of the anti-Federalist “republicans” led by Thomas Jefferson and passed the Sedition Act (along with acts to deport immigrant supporters of Jefferson) to silence critics of Federalists.

Klein wants to silence anyone who speaks out against his darling white House and President Obama. But is it so wrong that commentators want what is best for this country? Dissent is still the highest form of patriotism, and conservatives and Fox News alike stand by that.
