I was born in 1985. My father walked out on us when I was a small child, leaving my mother to raise my brother and I. She had help from her parents and brothers, but it was far from easy. I remember standing in line for food stamps. Yes, back when you had to actually go to a building and stand in line to get a booklet of papers about the size of dollar bills that read "U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Coupon." For much of my childhood my mother was a single mom. Eventually my stepfather came into my life.

You know, back when it was embarrassing to use them because it wasn't put on a debit card that you swipe at the register just like a bank debit card or credit card.

My Grandpa worked for Caterpillar's Tow Motor until they shipped their jobs overseas and then drove truck for an electric motor repair company until he retired. My stepfather drove truck for Coca-Cola and Pepsi, and currently is a tech for Pepsi's machines (fountain dispensers and soda bottle/can dispensers). My uncles both work in machine shops. My mom has worked various jobs from a factory that made parts for a vacuum cleaner to working as a medical assistant.

So yes, I was raised by a blue collar factory and I have a blue collar mentality. I've stocked shelves at a grocery store, unloaded trailers and stocked shelves at Target, did everything but manage at a BP station, worked at a Kia dealership as a porter, worked at an Advance America, and currently work at a Volvo dealership as a porter. I am also going to school for welding. I get up at 6:30 AM every day Monday-Friday, I work from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and then I have class from 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM. Those are long, hard days. There is nothing easy about them. I bust my ass.

Between Advance America and the Volvo dealership, I was unemployed. I received unemployment benefits during that time, but I also busted my ass looking for a job. I know it's hard out there, but people need to take what's available. I went from $9.75/hour to $8.50/hour.

So that's enough background.

The American Dream is a national ethos of the United States, a set of ideals in which freedom includes the opportunity for prosperity and success, and an upward social mobilityachieved through hard work. In the definition of the American Dream by James Truslow Adams in 1931, "life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement" regardless of social class or circumstances of birth. The idea of the American Dream is rooted in the United States Declaration of Independence which proclaims that "all men are created equal" and that they are "endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights" including "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

The American Dream is only achieved through hard work. It is not guaranteed to anyone. It is not a handout. It's something that is earned. However, we live in a country today where people think they are entitled to certain things in which they are not. They feel that they are entitled to free money, given to them by the government which comes out of the taxes of the hard working people. They feel they are entitled to free housing, while I bust my ass every day to pay my rent.

"I think when you spread the wealth around it's good for everyone." - Barack Obama

Yes, those are the words of the President of this country. And that people, is the opposite of the American Dream. It's telling people that it's okay to not earn a thing, that instead thing swill be provided for you, off of the hard work of someone else. that is NOT the American Dream, that is Socialism if not Communism. You cannot build wealth for someone by taking from someone who earned it and giving it to someone who has not.

I love by a blue collar belief. I believe that hard work, and only hard work will get you to where you want to be. I believe that you have to earn things. I just wish the leader of this country believed in working hard to achieve your goals, no matter your background....instead of just handing it to people. You respect things more when you have to earn them. I don't believe that anyone is entitled to a damn thing because they were born into hardship. That if these people are just handed the things that others have to earn, they'll have less respect for it, and maybe none at all.

Working in fast food, doesn't entitle you to a higher minimum wage. It doesn't entitle you to make the same wage as someone who took the time to go to school and learn a skill that pays them that higher wage. I can't tell you how many times I have gotten fast food and have had to go back to get the correct order. If you can't even put a burger or chicken sandwich together correctly, a rather simple task, you don't deserve more money.

In the end, the American Dream is something that is supposed to be earned. If you don't agree with that, then you are what's wrong with this country.
He will no longer be the mayor of a great metropolis. This is a man who's goal in life is to disarm the civilians of the United States of America.

New York City has some of the most strict gun laws in the nation. A lot of that is in thanks to Bloomberg. He has put a lot of his own personal wealth, something he has a whole lot of, into disarming the "average Joe."

However, there is something that's going to make his different from any other civilian of New York City tomorrow. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is that he's going to be protected by a firearm. Now I couldn't tell you if it's one bodyguard with a handgun or multiple bodyguards...anyone who "poses a threat" to Mr. Bloomberg will be met with a firearm. That's something that most citizens of New York City are unable to do, because of how difficult it is to obtain a license to carry concealed in the city. And open carry is prohibited for a standard civilian.

Michael Bloomberg is not the only anti-gun politician who is protected by a firearm while preaching that ordinary citizens should not be allowed to protect themselves with a firearm, or extremely limit what they can use for self defense.

President Obama is a big, big anti-gun politician. He is constantly surrounded by many armed men to protect him. As are his kids and wife. Congress is also highly protected, even those who don't want us to have those same protections.

If we aren't supposed to be able to protect ourselves with a firearm, according to their thinking, then they should demand to not be protected with firearms other than the local police. What makes them so special?

My biggest issues with the anti-gun legislation that so many of these politicians want to pass are as follow:

They are aimed to restrict the typical law abiding citizen. Felons are already not allowed to possess a firearm. These laws aren't aimed at those who have a criminal background. However, the laws that are there to protect us from these people are not being enforced as they should be. I should not be told that I cannot carry a large caliber handgun if I choose to. I should not be told how many rounds my semi-automatic rifle can hold for defense if my home or my country.

They don't focus on what the real problem in this country, mental illness. I have no problem restricting a person who is mentally ill and may do harm to him/herself or others. But I feel this should only be temporary and a doctor with no government affiliation should be the one deeming someone fit or unfit. Just because you've been prescribed anti-depression or anti-anxiety medication doesn't mean you're unfit to carry or own a firearm. Not everyone prescribed these medications is homicidal or suicidal. But these politicians would say if you've ever been prescribed a medication for these, you should never be able to possess a firearm.

These people, even if they won't say it, want the Constitution thrown out. They don't like the Second Amendment. They don't believe in the values that built this country. We were given the Second Amendment not for hunting, but to fight against tyrants if they ever try to take over this country. President Obama himself has said that, “Our Founders designed a system that makes it more difficult to bring about change than I would like sometimes.”

These politicians are nothing but hypocrites. As the new year comes upon us, many of these people are wanting to restrict our Second Amendment rights even more than what they already have been. We have to fight this. Write letters to your politicians telling them that you oppose these restrictions. Remember, they work for us!

-The Angry American

The Constitution of the Unites States of America has a Bill of Rights. The very first amendment in this Bill of Rights focuses on religion, right to free speech, the right of the people to peaceably assemble, and the right to petition the government:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or
prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of
speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to
assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The government of the United States of America shall make no law that will put one single religion above another. This is a country that was partially founded on freedom of religion, the right to practice any religion you want, within reason, without prosecution for it.

Now this doesn't mean you're allowed to rape or kill just because the religion you follow says you can. You still have to follow the laws of the land in the practice of your religion. You don't have to practice a religion at all if you don't want to. It's left up to you.

However, if Sharia Law were to be put on the books here in the United States, you could throw the First Amendment in the trash. Doing so would make the United States of America essentially an Islamic state:

Sharia Law allows anyone who converts to Islam or is born a Muslim full citizenship in an Islamic state. In this country we have people who are Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Agnostic, Atheist, Muslim, and many other religions. Those that do not follow Islam could have their citizenship revoked. That sounds like a type of prosecution based on religion.

Sharia Law says that it is a sin and religious crime to leave Islam. Once considered a Muslim, by birth of religious conversion, you cannot leave Islam for another religion or to believe no religion at all. It is punishable by death, however you are given one chance to convert back to Islam and avoid being killed. Sounds like religious prosecution to me.

If you're not a Muslim, which is a person who follows Islam, you are allowed to live in an Islamic state, however you do not have equal rights, and your rights are extremely limited. Sounds like religious prosecution to me.

Some one who is not Muslim and is a kafir (infidel), Sharia demands that he or she be given the choice to convert to Islam, and if refused he or she shall be killed, enslaved (which would counter another Amendment to the Constitution), or ransomed if captured (which would make the kidnapping of a non-Muslim legal).

Sharia Law does not allow for religious freedom. It's plain and simple. I don't care what religion someone practices, because you have the right to practice your religion. However, I don't believe you have the right to force Sharia Law on me. It conflicts with many of the rights we have as citizens of the United States of America and is therefore unconstitutional. However, there are parts of the Muslim community that wants Sharia Law to be law in this country.

Under Sharia Law, women have very limited rights:

Many believe that Sharia Law advocates violence against women when a husband suspects nushuz (disobedience, disloyalty, rebellion, ill conduct). It's what is considered punishment for those acts. However, many Muslim men are allowed to be disloyal to their wife and sleep with other single women with no punishment to them for doing so.

In courts of Sharia Law, a woman's testimony is worth half of a man's testimony.

While rape is considered illegal, a man who rapes a woman can avoid prosecution under Sharia Law by marrying the victim. Also, many women who file a complaint who are married are often prosecuted under Sharia crime for Zina (adultery). In the United States, adultery is not a crime, it holds no jail time, however is legal grounds for a divorce to be granted.

In the United States, it's illegal to beat your domestic partner for any reason. If the United States were to follow the rule of Sharia Law, you couldn't arrest a Muslim man for it. However, a person that follows any other religion would be able to be arrested and prosecuted for it.

Sharia Law is in direct conflict with so many laws that are currently on the books in the United States on a federal and state level. It would, at the least, allow for different laws for the Muslim community compared to the rest of the citizens of the United States of America, and that isn't right. No religious law is higher than the laws of this country. Hence the separation of church and state.

In 2009, a family court in New Jersey denied a woman a restraining order against her husband who is Muslim who had testified that her husband had raped her. Judge Joseph Charles Jr. ruled that he did not believe the man "had a criminal desire or intent to sexually assault" his wife because he was acting in a way that was "consistent with his practices."

So this judge ruled that a Muslim man can rape his wife because it's consistent with the practices of Sharia Law. Luckily an appeals court reversed his decision.

If his decision were to have stood, who knows where it could have led. Could a Muslim man then be allowed to rape someone who is not his wife? If one did so, would the woman who made the complaint only be allowed to be half believed? If the woman was married, would she then be considered an adulterer, charged with that as a crime under Sharia Law, and then her complaint of rape discredited?

The only laws that should be considered by the courts of the United States of America are the ones on the books in this country. Sharia Law has no room in this country when it conflicts with the laws of the United States. I don't care of Muslim men require their women to cover their bodies, nor do I care if a Muslim woman chooses to do so herself. It may not be the norm in this country, but they have every right to do that as a non-Muslim woman has to walk around in short shorts and a bikini top in the summer.

However, I should not be allowed to be prosecuted for being Christian. I shouldn't have limited civil rights due to it. And that is what Sharia Law calls for.

Don't get me wrong. I am not against Muslims. I know quite a few, and they are peaceful and we are friendly. They have every right to practice their religion in this country. But their laws are foreign to the laws of the United States and therefore Sharia Law has no room in this country. If the Muslim community does not like this, they are free to go and move to a country governed by Sharia Law. But any Muslim person who moves here from one of those countries, or any American citizen born Muslim or who converts, are bound by the laws of the United States of America. Plain and simple.

Why I Am An Angry American

I felt like today, on the twelve year anniversary of the 9/11/2001 attacks on the United States of America, was a good day to start my first ever political blog.

Today is a day of mourning for America as we remember the lives that were lost, and the lives that were forever changed, on that fateful day. Innocent men and women were attacked by cowards who flew planes into three of our country's most recognized buildings. A fourth crashed into a field in Pennsylvania after some brave Americans decided to attempt to overtake the attackers. They saved countless American lives by doing that, because nobody truly knows where that plane was headed.

I am angry because we have an Administration that is hellbent on turning this country into a socialist state. They don't listen to the American people, they don't even follow the Constitution of the United States of America.

Obamacare is a train wreck. It's going to do nothing but raise the national debt due to how expensive it will be to implement, that's if the government can ever figure out to do so. It's going to cause people to lose jobs. It's going to cause smaller medical practices, especially the ones that help the low income population, to close their doors. It's causing, and shall continue to cause, the price of medical insurance to rise. All it is, is one really big tax.

I am angry because Congress has chosen to opt themselves out of the wreck that is Obamacare, however we do not have that option. What they are doing is unconstitutional, because the twenty-eighth amendment says that Congress shall not pass any law that does not apply to them but applies to the people, nor shall they pass any law that applies to them and not to the people. When are the courts either going to rule Obamacare unconstitutional or force Congress to follow the law that they passed.

I am angry because the Obama Administration is bent on gun control, when in reality they don't want to look at the facts. Chicago has the strictest gun control laws in the country, yet they're on pace to have the most murder for 2013. Why? Because the liberals are fixated on restricting the rights of law abiding citizens that already follow the current laws on the books that regulate firearms; the people that just want to protect themselves, their property, and their country if need be. They want to trample the Second Amendment, and that makes me angry. They should instead focus their fear on the criminals who aren't supposed to have guns. Those people are the real problem. And it doesn't matter what gun control laws are passed, criminals don't follow the law, hence why they are criminals.

I am angry because the National Security Administration is spying on American citizens. President Obama does not like his detractors. We are not being spied on for "national security," but because the President wants the dirt on what is being said about him. He wants to know who opposes him, because he is insecure. He's afraid, because he knows that he is angering a nation and he wants to be able to know who's angry.

I am angry because President Obama had his IRS cronies go after Tea Party associations because they oppose him. He hates opposition, and he wants to weaken them. This is not right. This is an abuse of his power. I may not agree with everything the Tea Party represents, however they don't deserve what has happened to them.

I am angry that one year ago today at the United States Embassy in Benghazi, Lybia; there was an attack on the American citizens working at the location and there were four American citizens killed on what is considered "American soil." President Obama took no action to save these American lives. He had a chance to save them, and he didn't take it. He let them be murdered. And then, President Obama and his Administration attempted to cover it up. We still don't have the answers, and as long as President Obama has his way, we never will.

The President however, wants to take action in the civil war in Syria for an alleged chemical weapon attack. However, there has yet to be substantial proof that the Syrian government used chemical weapons on the "rebels," and it is very possible that the "rebels" used the chemical weapons themselves. Also, these "rebels" are tied to AL-Qauida, the terrorist organization responsible for the 9-11-2001 attacks on this nation. The President wants to help the enemy, those that hate this country and what it stands for.

President Obama, in my honest opinion, is the worst President in the history of the United States of America. There are many other reasons why I feel this way, but to list them all would just take way to long.

It's my first amendment right to speak my mind, and that is what I am going to do. And I better start doing it now, because that very well might be the next amendment that him and his cronies try to trample on.
