Siberian squill is quickly recognized as one of the first blooms in the spring. It is a small bulb that quickly naturalizes from seed, providing great shows of color when most other plants are just beginning to emerge from hibernation. By May, the squill is finished blooming, and disappears into the ground, allowing other plants to show their stuff for the rest of the season. You can find siberian squill growing throughout our gardens, especially in the herb garden. kjhas;dkfja’ skf——————————-

This is the last weekend to go on a fall tour and see the live birds of prey presentation. The “raptor show” will not be returning in the 2011 season. We plan to offer another wildlife program in it’s place. To see it for the final time at The Arboretum, come on out.

Fall colors have passed their peak at The Arboretum. It is still sunny and peaceful and a tour will provide you with plenty of information about the history of The Arboretum, interesting facts about the Colorado Plateau, trees and shrubs of the region.

If you come on Sunday, the final day of the 2010 season, bring a non-perishable food item per person and receive free admission. Food drive donations go to St. Mary’s Food Bank.
