2015-04-01T12:34:00.000-04:00

Here are the some of the renders from V-ray.
My responsibilities: Modeling/ Sculpting/ Texturing. Took me about 2 and half weeks everything from the scratch till end results.

Technical Art

These are the examples, I did for the production. EMB and EDT workflow can be found from here
EMB+EDT Tuts

N.B: Open the image in separate browser tab to view in it's larger mode.

I didn't create the model. I just baked them using X-Normal.

Basemesh: Simply the basic form/shape with reasonable polycounts, good for production.

Diffuse ( emb+edt+ao): This is the most efficient one. Such technique are widely used in mobile gaming too.
Note that these emd and edt are exported in X-Normal from the Normal map baked previously.

Normal: Rendered using Normal map only.

Diff+Bump: Diffuse map is the same as above . Bump is created using the Normal map and 50% grey color

Diff+Bump+Nrm: This is another great techinque for rendering purposes without compromising the overall details.Normal map and Bump Map helps to achieve the cinematic shots without the help of Displacement map.

N.B: Displacement map are great for money shot and they are highly expensive rendering wise. One should use it wisely for the specific shot. Displacement map enhanced the overall shape including the physical shadowcasting whereas Normal map is more like a fake shadow, though it still retains the details. Great map for real-time rendering.
