The Boston Tea Party

The Boston Tea Party

Nibblefest this month is "Tea Time" so for me to paint the Boston Tea party seemed almost a little too obvious.

In this painting, Lola (our inherited Boston Terrier) and Mr. Wiggles are reunited for a little tea party!

The Boston Tea Party

This painting is 8x10 (I'm making an effort to work larger this year) and is oil on canvas.

Here's a link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/-/231665069721?

As with all Nibblefest entries, this one starts at just 99¢, no reserve! This is just a 3 day auction, it ends on Thursday, August 27.

The People's Art Contest! February theme - Eggs!

Attention artists! You might be interested in this art contest my friend Christine has started. Here's a copy/paste of the brief description:

The People's Art Contest

For this month I'm entering a painting I did in 2009, I probably posted it here back then:

Major Wuss

Major Wuss

3x3

Oil on Wood Panel

For painting #29 I decided to try another more realistic painting. This is Buttercup/Kevin/Carl, now most commonly known as "Major Wuss." He's our largest cat, and is the biggest wuss you'd ever want to see. He has a perpetual look of alarm on his face and is always ready to run off in terror. There are other things too but I don't feel like writing a story.

30/30 Challenge, Day Twenty Eight: Baby Cornelius

The Monster at the Window

Sparky heard something tapping at the window and was afraid it was a monster! Luckily(?) it was "only" the squid.

For this painting I decided to piggyback on one of DPW's (Daily Paintworks) challenges which featured a tuxedo cat looking out the window. I thought this was an excellent opportunity to bring Sparky into the challenge, with of course his nemesis, the squid.

No clever story here for painting #16, just a manatee on his way to a an undersea birthday party. He's a little apprehensive, perhaps he's concerned about the nature of whatever sea creatures await him at said party.

This is a little forest creature, based off of a tiny glass animal I have with this look. Now I know this little guy doesn't look particularly "mysterious", but the mystery lies in what kind of a creature he even is!! Is it a deer? Is it a dog? A forest giraffe? No idea.

Maybe this is the famous"Little Red Hen" or maybe it's a rooster? The wooden figure which inspired it looked much more like a rooster, but this one seemed a little girlier. Maybe I've brought out his feminine side!

This is painting #8 in the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge. As much as I love painting, this is really taking a toll on my time, and we're only at day eight!
