Boy it's been forever!

I MisssssssYOU ALL

So very much!!! I swear it!

I know most have been wandering what happened to her?

We hope she didn't quit blogging, & what's next for

this artsygirl and the blog...All great questions,

I am going to attempt to answer..

So much has happened in the last year. I know a lot of my closer bloggy friends
have been able to keep up with me through various social media networks
(ie: facebook, instagram and even via twitter), so it's been nice to not loose touch
of the world I know here, and how much beauty lies in the friendships
I have with the wonderful ladies all around..

I can't believe how long it's been, but I DO believe I miss my space and
coming back today feels SO fulfilling and wonderful.. Thanks for all the
wonderful encouragementsthat I have received over time. It's been
a long journey of self discovery, and adjustments,
but the timing is right so here I am..

WHERE HAVE I BEEN!?!?
I've been busy snapping away! I'm beyond grateful for my photography
business and all the amazing clients, and friends I've made within the last year.
It's been a beautiful picturesque journey that I can't describe/put into words
much more than HAPPINESS and pure fulfilment on every beautiful
level I imagined.. You can see more of my work via my
FACEBOOK / INSTAGRAM / MY SITE .
(All your thoughts are welcomed, I'd love to know
what you think so far of my snaps!)

MY STRUGGLES WITH BLOGGING

Over the last year or so, I've found it really hard to maintain my blog, I haven't
had time to post anything that meant much to me, or create for that matter
to share in happiness. I've struggled with giving up on blogging as a whole
to focus more on my life, career moves and most of all trying to fit in
writing alongside our busy household.. It all just became too
overwhelming and as hard as I tried to keep up!

I had to let go for a while and allow myself to focus away for a bit; until my
heart was back here and I could share freely and enjoy the things I
actually shared about with you all.. I lost touch of that a while ago, I felt
out of place blogging, and almost felt as if I was always under a fire drill
to come up with posts, or create for that matter, things that I wasn't
into, or loved, simply to keep afloat with here.

I really hated that feeling, and eventually it all caught up to me walking away
and taking this long break I embarked upon a few months ago.. I can't express
enough apologies for walking off, I hope everyone that has been a reader,
but most of all a FRIEND can return and join me once again..

Trying To Move Back In...
I'm back in blog land.. With no promises, no gimmicks, but with hope, with fun
aspirations of growth, and with the excitement to get to once again connect,
and share with you all freely with no time agenda's, and most of all having
FUN while at it.. I'm certain I will at least blog once a week, I'm certain
you will see more photo shoot and picture stories along the way than
regular crafty posts; I can guarantee melt downs, lend me your ear's,
and how do you's(?), BUT most of all, some laughter and
sharing from the depths of my heart...

I hope you all can jump in with me for some new thrill's and fun times ahead.

Another week has flown by. We had a complete fake out Spring day Monday.

It was a gorgeous, sunny day with temps in the low 80s. Sadly, the weekend is

bringing us cooler weather and more rain. I guess this means another

weekend will go by without my planting a garden.

awesome. I am truly inspired each week by your projects.

The features this week are ones that are just close to my heart...things I would totally

do in a heartbeat if I could. I hope you take the time to check out the projects,

The first feature is an idea I totally wish I would have thought of. After my ill-fated

attempt at cake pops, I think I may have to start making

As someone who has sensitivities and allergies to chemicals used in cleaning

products, I really love it when someone spreads the word about making

your own cleaners! Sweet Parrish Place shares some

"Back to Basics" with using vinegar around the house.

Our final feature for the week is ChicBy Tab's Mint dresser. I'm loving the

mint and white combo! It's totally fresh and gives

a very dated piece a great new look.

Did the month come in like a lamb or a lion for you? It was a lamb with a bad temper for us but I'm still hoping that it means we'll be getting spring and SOON. I've chosen my plants for the this year's garden and am hoping to get my city farm up and running soon. Cabin fever has truly set in. We've been treating ourselves to a fair amount of treat including this one that I'll be sharing tomorrow.

Did you happen to check out all the amazing things that my fellow

hostesses have been up to? Micki wowed me with her adorable Easter Hat

Christine (who I'm ACTUALLY going to meet next week) was

beyond fab with her Apricot Canapes. I want these RIGHT now.

AND Marilyn's blog has been a little quiet lately but if you follow her on instagram

(and why wouldn't you?) you will have seen that her photography has gone well beyond the hobby stage and now she's in the pro category. You truly need to check out her amazing pics.

I know, right?! Thank you so much for all of you that joined last week. It is just such a treat to

see your amazing projects. We truly appreciate you taking the time out to do so. Did

you have a chance to visit lots of folks? I think I made it to everyone and totally

fell in love with: Half Baked Harvests, Sweet Potato Parmesan Tater Tots.

I made the mistake of first eyeing them when I was at work

and just about starved the rest of the day.

Crystelle Boutique had a lovely Sock Monkey tutorial and a

gorgeous message for us all to keep in mind too.

And did you not also love 'Preparing For Your First Tattoo' by Our Mini Family?

Even if you don't have one or would ever have a tattoo I guarantee you will have this conversation with a young person in your life at some point. GREAT advice and a great resource to hang

onto. I teach grade eight and know I'll be pulling this article out often. Not only are you

Pin'Inspirational Thursday

I'm in a bit of a winter slump. There's not much to look forward to over the next couple of weeks. But then, it gets crazy. So much will go on in the space of three weeks I can hardly believe it. Like what?

I'll be meeting a bloggy friend for reals. Her name is Jane and she kind of rocks. Do you know her?
My in-laws are visiting from the UK.
Spring Break begins.
My brother and his family will visit.
The hubs and I will go on a little getaway to San Fran.
Spring Break ends.
We hold an Easter Egg Hunt and celebrate spring with an Easter Dinner.
J turns 5.

Yes, all of that will happen in the span of 3 weeks. So you can see why things feel a little blah right now. I want to get a move on with all the fun and instead I'm just sitting here with nothing to do but type (which reminds me, I'd better spend some time pre-typing for that crazy 3 weeks coming up when I won't have time to breathe, let alone write). To get over my blahs I'm focusing on some excitingly easy side dishes. The idea is that I can make a lazy dinner (throw some chicken breasts in the oven, maybe steam some broccoli) and put more energy into one interesting side dish to add pizzaz to dinner and hopefully lift my slump. So my side dishes will help chase away the blahs. What else will do the trick?

Jane's grapefruit marmalade (yeah, she made that and then put it into cute jars herself. And then she turned it into a pie. See. I told you: She rocks.
Micki's Iron Chef Mom Nutella challenge. Seriously, if you have a Nutealla recipe to share, you must go link up. Now. If you don't have a recipe to share, you must go there and drool at other people's recipes. Now.

And then of course there are the amazing Pin'Inspiration you all linked up to use last week. Here are three of my faves: A Real Blah-Buster: How To Invite Spring Into Your Kitchen from Meeha Meeha Nothing says Spring like Robin's Eggs. And it would totally unslump me to finally try my hand at making marshmallows. The two come together for these adorable Marshmallow Robin's Eggs by Twigg Studios. The coolest thing is that dish full of flour is indented using an egg. These indents are then used as the mould for the marshmallows. Awesome, right? And finally, an extra excitingly easy side dish to add to my unblahing repertoire: Balsamic Red Potatoes by Made In A Day. And now it's time to open up another Pin'Inpirational Link Party. Hello lovely friends stopping in tonight..

Life has been so hectic around here lately! We are in the middle of some

really awesome projects around the house, plus my oldest son is receiving

his Life badge in scouts tonight. We are very proud of him!

Revisit ~ Strawberry Sweethearts....{Valentine Shakes}

Hope everyone is staying warm and fuzzy in doors, as in my case :)).

This awesome shake totally hit the SPOT! Cozy, Warm & Yummy!

Strawberry Sweetheart Shakes❤

Speaking of warm and fuzzy, the kids spent a lot of time out today playing

and shoveling SNOW. T'was a lot of fun and they did such an amazing job that

I had to reward them with something amazing, warm and soothing.. What I made?

Some strawberry sweetheart shakes. YUM.. These treats where GONE in minutes!!

Here's how to cozy up with some of your very own... Amazingly awesome!!

Artsy Ingredients Needed

4 Tablespoons butter

1/2 Cup Sugar

1 Pint Strawberry Ice Cream

4 Cups Water

Whipped Cream

1 Cup Mini Chocolate Chips

Red Sprinkles

Chocolate Hershey Hearts

*LeTS ShAKe It UP!*

To begin, melt your chocolate chips and dip the top of your mugs or serving cups

into it. Cover the rims by dipping and set aside to harden.

In a medium pot, whisk together the butter, ice cream, sugar and set on medium high heat

until it's all melted while whisking together lightly. When mixture is melted together,

carefully whisk in your cups of water ONE at a time until you get to your desired texture.

You might not need all four cups, it's solely up to you how thick you want your shake.

Continue to heat until mixture steam's for a minute and it's ready.

Pour your shake into your chocolate rimmed mugs, garnish with whipping cream,

sprinkles and your chocoalte hershey hearts.. Serve warm or place in fridge to

cool for cold shakes! Your kitchen should smell heavenly awesome right now!

Mine still does.. YUM! These shakes can serve as a quick fix Valentine sweet

warming delights for your little ones, mine surely enjoyed every drop..Me Too!

Are You Living A Purpose Driven Life !?

What's It Even All About?!?

For the past year, I've been struggling with a few elements that have lead

me to better understand the basis of "who" I am. As a mother, as a friend, as a partner,

a co-worker, and just as ME, the ME I live with daily. It's been a huge blessing in

disguise as I first thought, OH NO, is this what "mid-life crisis is all about..? I really

felt depressed about a lot of things~ ie "Financial struggles, finding a perfect

niche per say to compliment who I thought I wanted to be, trying to fit in,

and simply doing everything I can to polish my outside looking in to those

who mattered the LEAST!. The biggest fear of all for me, was not

being "there" (that place I felt I needed to be at my age for

years" - WHERE is that place for YOU!?!

HITTING ROAD BLOCKS

I finally hit a road block that really hindered a lot of my self confidence. I felt

very LOST. I felt as if I needed to now find other ways to try to define myself and

reinvent the ME I loved so much way before. I needed guidance, I sought patience

with myself, understanding and taking a moment to cater to myself in a way I

hardly ever did before. I took a moment to write the LONGEST list ever.

................ ..... .....................

This list consisted of rows of highs and lows. The things that mattered most to me.

It had trivial things like "my reading time, which I saw less and less of over the years

- I LOVE to read". My craft time, not so much to craft to share, but to craft happily

and enjoy it JUST BECAUSE!. One on one time with God, nature hikes,

meditation, reaching little personal health goals, re-energizing my faith and

rejuvenating my inner self. All of which, I hardly made time for any more.

................ ..... .....................

My next list consisted of "Time Cheats". Where in my life today can I fit in and

meaningfully MAKE the time I need to cheat on the daily for myself..? How can I be

selfish within my life at least a few hours a week to make for self ends meet..? That's

where the fun begun! I realized, I put so much time and emphasis in places that didn't

necessarily need it, and could possibly mandate some extra time for me

and make things work. It's JUST what I did..

TIME CHEAT TO MAKE

UP FOR "SELF ENDS MEET"

The first BEST time cheat I figured out for some ME time was negotiating and

incorporating my family into reaching an individual self goal within our home. YES!

It really was hard for about a week, but thereafter, we all kinda LOVED the idea.

TAKING A MOMENT TO BREATH! After school, it's almost like a zoo within

our home. The day's load of complaint's, the needing help with this, and that, dinner,

talk time, bath, getting ready for the next day of daily events-----just CHAOS!.

We agreed upon a rule to pick our least busiest days of the week, no after school

programs, or extra curricular happenings, and spend an HOUR each to completely

indulge in the one thing we REALLY love and focus on for our personal time. This

hour really came in handy. Sia spends it usually catching a show, coloring or joining

in on something I don't mind her joining in on (painting our nails, finishing a

project of mine, laying down and catching a quick rerun of something)

BUT it focuses on MY TIME and what I want to do with it..

Driving. . . . To catch up on reading, we decided to take turns with driving.

My fiance drives to and I drive from, and we have quiet time to either read,

talk, or one gets to watch something on the ipad or the likes. Its a long

drive for us each morning and we usually use it to now catch up on TV

shows we don't get to watch over the week sparingly..

Extra-Curricular Days ..... I now bring a book or two to catch up on reading

during sports activities. While I wait, I catch a glimpse here and there and continue

to enjoy my reads, as the kids sport it out and have their time..

Get Your Girls Involved.... We almost now ALL have children. We had to cut

to the chase as friends and be honest about "our time". Unless we can all find sitters,

we've made a rule to simply either have kid-related play dates where we can all

get together, feed the kids LOTS of food and get to watch some movies

together and enjoy each other's company alongside..

Devotion To Your Partner... Although your perfect day's are WITH your spouse

and being able to reconnect and enjoy each other, it doesn't hurt to MAKE him a date

with his guy friends and send them all off for some MAN time together. This helps a

lot to be able to flip things up and go on girl "adult" dates with your own friends without

anyone feeling left out. As hard as it might be to find a sitter, try to make it a goal to

find one as best as you can to at least once a month to have some spousal alone time

together.. If it doesn't work, stay up late, skip the normal dinner time and have

a candle lit dinner after hours when the kids are fast asleep.

BREATH..... The WILL be day's when none of this will work. The key

for me is to figure out HOW I can MAKE it work without loosing my marbles. When

I can't go to the gym by myself, I take the kids out with me. A healthy family is the

BEST well rounded family. We go for runs with the stroller and enjoy some fresh

air together. Read with them, make them take turns reading to YOU. Compromise

on some moments alone (time in the bathroom, shutting your door for a moment

to catch a moment to take in your day.). The magic is in respect. I've learned

that, when I respect, take time to be patient with my children in

understanding THEIR TIME, they are rather very positive

in compromising for MY TIME to myself.

In closing, there's NO such thing as being a mom with a clear vision of "your

ideal purpose driven life". It's about well rounding your responsibilities,

creating goals, and mastering ways to get around the busy daily struggle

of finding time to make ends meet for YOURSELF...

What goal's and personal insider's do you have to "getting there"?! I'd LOVE

to hear opinions from you all on how you strive to live your idea of

a well rounded purpose driven and fulfilling life for YOU..

I've seen a dramatic improvement in ME as a whole lately. I am

climbing out of the "funk", enjoying myself and learning more fun self discoveries

about myself. It's a daily movement, and with all the road blocks that WILL and

DO hit from time to time, I always resort back to my list, and make the BEST

of my days, to simply be able to smile and feel fulfilled when I get to bed.

Hello lovely

friends stopping in..

Hope your week is off to an amazing start.. I am not one

for resolutions, but this year, I'm starting a bit of a trend.

Marking off my to-do lists gradually at my own pace, and spending time

reflecting, indulging in the chaos that is my home and putting

more into the things I love the most.

I really want to spend more time getting better at photography.

I finally opened up a little space of my own to feature more of my work,

and allow for me to spend time enjoying it more than just a hobby. My website is

Hi lovely friends, hope you are having

an amazing Christmas / holiday season so far. I've been rather

busy and excitedly shooting away this season. I did a winter shoot for

an old friend of mine. It was soo exciting how great the photo's turned out

considering it was a rainy and just awfully cold day out, and our original

plans had to be fully cancelled! We ended up doing it all within my living room

and things got really simple and fun, which all in all was just perfect! Here

....I've been personally so devastated about the loss in Newton, CT.

So much so that I can't get through a read on the net about the story

without crying and feeling so much for the parents and families

that this unexplainable terrible tragedy occurred to this week.

We mourn with you, we hurt for you, we hold you close

in our prayers and remain saddened in sorrow as we try to make

sense of what's to come.. I wrote this poem today, just words

and feelings I can't even imagine will make a slight impact

on how you feel within these moments..

Please

Make Me

Feel Your Love

When the cold night falls

and the constant calls stop....

When their days turn to years,

and these times seem rather stale...

Your little finger prints,

your smile, your spirit,

every little beautiful detail of you

your intricate birthmarks,

the sound of your voice

your teeny bright eyes,

your days of drools and coo,

the sound of your heartbeat, your kicks,

silly years of musical laughter,

watching you soundly sleep

our every days,

this suddenly taken moment

my tears for years to come,

my days of emptiness and sorrow

I hold you in the depths of my heart

and pray that we can share so much in spirit,

from little moments to come, millions of reminders

your smell, your memories, so much of you still here
