This piece was VERY fun to do. I've never been so into these water colors. It was a very lengthy process. The inks are some of my favorite. That style of inking while it takes quite a bit to complete, it's very relaxing. Tedious, but relaxing. I also think the end result just shows how much work goes into it!

I have here three different versions of this piece. You'll see the water color piece here at the left. Then below you'll find the black and white line art, as well as a digitally colored piece. I'll have to say personally my traditional colors blow my digital stuff out of the water. Looks like I'll have to learn from my traditional work and incorporate that back into the digital work. I took what I learned digitally and applied that to my traditional works... but it looks like I need to revisit my digital work theories.

If anyone is wondering if I'm taking commissions for pieces like this. I
am indeed. It'll be a bit before I can get to yours as I have some
other work in between. I will keep you in the loop and let you know when the commissions are started by showing step by steps via Twitter, Facebook, and email.

The pieces are $175 + $10 shipping for the U.S. and $18 for Int'l customers∞. All inquiries about these can be made at Jeremy@JeremyTreece.com

∞Additional colorations such as the digital colored piece are an additional charge.

Cerebus the Aardvark is © and ™Dave Sim.

J. Went a different route on Han Solo here. Pencils and watercolors. I think this technique is quite stylish. I will have to play more with this and develop it. I want to tailor it to the lines more. I always saw Han as the cowboy of the group so I added the high noonish back drop to his image.
Oh Lando... you are such a dip. I love your funky 70s style yet I hate that you turned over Han. Did you make up for it? I say it was a gesture a little too late.
What a ugly creepy looking alien. I don't think I'd like to get stuck in a room with this dude. He looks like someone I'd also not like to bump into in Nocturne Alley. Spiked toothed slimey looking cretin. I guess you gotta be that way to be the right hand man of Jabba the Hut. Thought I'd do a not so cure Twi'lek to go with yesterday's post of Aayla Secura.

$15 - http://crisishour.bigcartel.com/product/sw-sketch-06-bib-fortuna

J. Aayla Secura brings us back into the fray with my quick lead undersketching, and then my inks on top. I always liked sketching her out. She's a super serious character and I never seem to draw her that way. It's always smiley or easy going. Maybe I'll have to do a bigger piece to show what a warrior she is.

$15 - http://crisishour.bigcartel.com/product/sw-sketch-05-aayla-secura

And if you are wondering where I'm at, trying to catch a break with the internet is becoming something of a spectacle. I'm thinking of switching providers to get a more secure connection. I'll hopefully be back in action full force then.

J. Thought I'd play around with watercolors on this one but I liked the inks more than I thought. So I just left it B&W. I am having a blast with textures and a contrast of textured, and smooth/clean.
Darth Maul is one of my favorites to draw. I love his tribal tattoo look. I have a horrible love for the color combination of Red, and Black. Something about it is very appealing to me. I tied to do something different with the inks and watercolors on this one. I'll be playing around with this idea in the next ones to come.
Also requested was the Ewok. This one was really fun to do as I got to create some kind of fuzzy looking creature. Not everyday when I get to do some cute looking teddy bear looking art.
Starting off a little late in 2012. But no matter it'll still be a great year.

The first illustration from Star Wars is from the extended universe. Someone suggested I take a look at the character and this is what came of it. I never knew this character. I am assuming from the ref that this character was created for the Old Republic game. Not knowing a lot about a character and trying to get their likeness down is pretty rough. I think I took this character for a spin with my own style. What do you guys think?
I know that I said I'd go hero/villain/hero/villain and so forth, but I just had to end off this project on a Christmas-y note. I thought the best way to end it off would be with a Mr. Freeze and wearing some Santa garb. Something about seeing the hat through the dome was funny to me so I wanted to include that.
Coming in at #24 of 25 we have the Joker. I was intending the Joker to be the last of the series because he is absolutely my favorite to draw from the DCU. Halfway through this project it hit me. The better idea. I'll be posting that tomorrow. Come by... or buy *laugh* and see the conclusion of the project and I hope you all are having a GREAT Christmas! Or if you don't do Christmas I hope you are enjoying that too *grin*.
Here is #22 of 25. Have to say that this one was a blast to do. Don't know too much about this characters history, but his design is pretty fun. Anyone want to fill me in more about his character and where I should read, I mean to say any good trades or anything from this character?
I have this old landlord that keeps harassing me for money. I made a deal with him to break a lease so we could move to California. I had a guy that was going to be our business manager out there pay what we owed for rent. I told him we'd get him one more month to call it even. It's this dead that I haven't been able to uphold. This is the reason I'm being harassed. It's more than looking for money. It's being a bully, it's being downright violent in words, and intimidating. This is the email I just received word for word.

When we lived out in California, he would drunk dial a couple times, and talk. About how hard stuff is. About life, and how cool we were as people and how he knew that this deal with the Californian businessman was not a good deal and we should run away from it.

Dead to rights from the moment we decided to move to California haven't been in a financially stable job since. Freelancing is all I got. I basically live off commission. I have $80 to my name at any given time. Bills come and go. I hold off until I absolutely have to pay to avoid a shut off. Rent is usually 1 to 2 months late, and I make it work by whatever strings, and support I get from fans.

I really do not know what to say about this. I really do feel like this is crossing a line that doesn't need to be crossed. I'd thought I would post this up just in case some bad stuff went down. Also to show that I'm not afraid.

Any advice on what I should do about this guy? I would have assumed if it was about the money he would have sued me and then that would be it already. But he's trying to bully/harass/force me to pay him money I don't have for him at this time. Anything on the subject would be helpful. Thanks guys!!
Wanted to just go for a more watercolor look on this piece. I'm really feeling like this experiment made me embrace the medium! Gotta get more illustration work with watercolors!

With the Penguin I wanted to do his squinty eyed monocle faced, cigarette holder self. In my head this character will always look like this. Danny Devito (While fun in it's own disquise) was not really the penguin for me. Sorry Timmy!
As soon as I decided that I wanted to do 25 DC characters for this month, I told myself that I NEEDED to draw Alfred Pennyworth. I don't see to many people draw Alfred and give him the fan art treatment. I may have to do more later on with him, but he is (like yesterdays post.) a breath of fresh air in a world full of meta-humans and aliens.
Just got finished with this new painting. Man I'm really feeling the watercolors. As much as it matters on the quality of paints, the paper makes the most of them. So get some good paper to paint on with your tools of choice.

This features the characters Brobee, Plex, Mudo, and DJ Lance Rock from the popular kids program Yo Gabba Gabba! on Nickelodeon.
So I wasn't going to do this, but I opted out of one of my picks for a character for one someone requested. This is Detective Chimp. Now I had a super hero in mind and this just screamed fun. It is nice to take a break from the hero/villain types for a bit and do something little more off the beaten path.

As always 9x12 bristol board in water color and pencil.
Here she is. I couldn't resist the Brooklyn accented companion only to the Joker. I had to do something fun and sassy with her, so I decided to give her a large lollipop. Something only Harley would own. Coming in at #18 in no particular order, if I was going to rate her in the world of DC characters that I like to draw she'd be at the top!
Thought I'd do an old school lantern. I had Green Lantern requested many times. Some just said Green Lantern, some said Hal Jordan, Kyle Rayner, and Alan Scott. I chose Scott as I've never drawn him before.
Coming in at #16 of 25 we have Captain Cold. I chose to do his new outfit rather than get him in his parka. I always thought he was lame as characters come, but I've recently been informed by some of my fans throughout the years that he's actually kind of a serious threat. Half Mole Man, and half Mr. Freeze. That was my inspiration behind this particular drawing.

Right after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt. 2 was released in theaters I told myself that I would do a set of cards featuring Harry along his story. I picked some key notes in his life and wanted to illustrate it in a card set. After watching the last film (which you can read a rushed review on my blog) I decided to draw up the set. I have been asked a couple of times what I'm doing with these pieces, and I have now decided to sell them.

If you wish to purchase the piece you can find the set at my store - http://crisishour.bigcartel.com/product/harry-potter-7-pc-card-set

Sorcerer's Stone was just an introductory piece. Harry with new clothes, wand, broom, and can't forget fluffy, I thought this pretty much summed up an good start to the set.

For Chamber of Secrets I wanted to use Riddle's Diary, and a shot of some of the messages on the wall that Ginny had scribed. Only to be accentuated by the basilisk shadow that isn't REALLY there.

Prisoner of Azkaban was all about the Marauder's Map and the existence of 'Wormtail'. How the story unfolds to Harry was such a turning point in the series.

Goblet of Fire. I chose this shot as I wanted to inject a little humor into the set. So much grim and dark images to pull from all the stories. After the nice intro image I felt we needed a nice change of pace so he wasn't singled out in the group.

The Prophecy in the Order of the Phoenix is the main character here. Harry learns what he must do. Kill of be killed.

For the Half Blood Prince I chose Harry learning the Sectum Sempra spell from Snape's Advanced Potion Making text only for the sheer want to draw Harry learning magic.

And last but not least! Ever since reading Deathly Hallows, I've had the image of Harry touching lips to the snitch and whispering "I am about to die." I feel this is one of the greatest images in my head from the series, and I'm glad I got it out.

Hope you enjoy my insight on what I was thinking while drawing these pieces.

This one was a bit fun. Wanted to end this water color set with a bang! I tried to use as few lines as possible in the piece to give room for colors to form the shapes rather than harsh blocks of blacks or lines. I also tried to do a different composition on this piece and I am not sure how I feel about it. I'll be revisiting this idea soon enough.
Coming in at #14 is Big Barda! I love this character. I wish I were requested to draw her more often. Something about the jagged edges feels so comfortable in my style. Dirty fighting, super actiony empowered woman, those are my favorite characters. I'll have to rectify my never doing a full pinup, and in digital color for Barda.

I usually kick around Batman with some swooping pose, or cape flapping in the wind. I just kinda wanted to do a detective dressed up in a costume. Big ol' magnifying glass and all. I also wanted to amplify in the BG what he found on the clue he is observing.

UPDATE - SOLD!
