Prologue
Having been a seeker, searcher, sojourner, student of esoteric studies, christian, agnostic, atheist, philosopher, pilgrim, disciple, spiritual teacher and psychologist…and that is just in THIS lifetime, I have practiced just about every form of “discipline” known to mankind.

In other lifetimes, I was a monk, prostitute and witch…just to name a few incarnations. I have spent thousands of dollars on books, classes, seminars and workshops trying to discover Truth with a capital T.

Since Truth with a capital T is always unfolding as science and spirituality continue to evolve, my truth with a small t is presented in this book as a result of ongoing research, experimental analyses, personal testing and examination of life through living.

My Theories of Personality Psychology class in college required a paper and class presentation on “The Nature of Man”…meaning mankind. The three natures of man defined at that time were: born neutral, born good, or born bad. I wrote the paper and presented it in front of the class. I stated in my presentation that we are born with a neutral nature…having within us the capacity to become good or bad as a result of our environmental factors influencing us throughout life. Further, I announced to my professor and the class that I would someday present my own unique “theory of personality” regarding the true nature of mankind. Forty years later, here it is, Dr. Dye!

About the Author
Michelle Mills is a pen name for purposes of this book.  The Author received Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degrees in Psychology.

She trained at Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California, The Laos House in Austin, Texas and participated in numerous personal growth workshops throughout the years. Her position as Staff Psychologist at various facilities of the Texas State Department of Mental Health directed her path to include spiritual healing for holistic benefits.

During her career, she was Assistant Facilitator, Counselor and Workshop Leader for the Unity of Truth Center in Austin, Texas. Her extensive experience with psychological issues, addictions, woundedness, and the soul‟s misalignment offers varied therapeutic modalities to assist people on their personal life journey.

The Austin Resource Center for the Homeless (ARCH) serves as the first point of entry into the homeless service system for many of Austin’s adults experiencing homelessness for the first time, as well as those who have been living on the streets for years.

The ARCH is designed to assess client needs, provide information on how and where to access services, and meet the basic emergency needs of homeless adults, as well as provide a place for homeless people to rest and get out of the elements during the day.

Nearly 9,000 homeless men and women utilized the ARCH in 2008-09, including an average of approximately 500 individuals each day.

The building, which opened in 2004, includes a large common-use room, showers and locker rooms, laundry facilities, a computer room, an art studio, and offices for various nonprofit organizations that serve the homeless.

A clinic, located on the first floor, provides health services. The second floor houses a large commercial kitchen and dining room. Located on the third floor is the 100-bed overnight shelter. The sleeping area’s rooftop terrace opens up to panoramic views of the city.

Numerous co-located agencies make the ARCH a one-stop shop where clients can receive support for mental health, medical, legal, employment and other needs, all under one roof. Clients are encouraged to enroll in transitional services focused on helping them move from homelessness to affordable housing.
