The Transfer Station Technician will be responsible for understanding all operational functions at the Base facility involving the transfer and transportation of liquid products.  

Very physical work that requires working outside in all tempertures and conditions.



DUTIES

Receive and unload railcars 
*Ability to read temperatures of railcars. 
*Wash trailers, totes &amp;amp; loading equipment  
*Load trailers, totes &amp;amp; drums 
*Understand &amp;amp; follow Good Manufacturing Practices
*Understand and follow established operating procedures
*Understand and follow established safety rules
*Must demonstrate the ability to make decision while working with minimum supervision 
*Ability to keep detailed records and documentation
*Ability to perform Quality Assurance functions as required
*Ability to operate a sit down forklift
*Understand customer requirements &amp;amp; product specifications
*Ability to perform equipment assembly &amp;amp; disassembly as required to perform normal job duties (truck filters, hoses, pumps,)
*Perform plant &amp;amp; equipment sanitation functions 
*Will be trained to drive tanker trucks on property


QUALIFICATIONS

General PC &amp;amp; Data Entry Skills 
*Understand &amp;amp; demonstrate EQ Skills 
*Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and withstand exposure to bees
*Knowledge and experience of all Base positions and how they will fit into the team environment.
*Ability to climb on top of railcars and tankers 
*Willingness to work outside in all inclement weather conditions 
*Willingness to work extended shifts when necessary.

Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.



QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
Current CDL from the state Department of 
Transportation.  

Tanker Endorsement

Minimum of 2 - 5 years experience driving tanker trailers

The ability to work with others as part of a team. 

The ability to follow written and oral procedures 
 and instructions.  

The ability to perform simple calculations as required 
in reading packaging and recording daily 
information.  

Must acquire a fork lift certification at Bama.

*Carry out work plans for maintenance needs and coordinate appropriately with Operations and QA.  Identify additional needs for input into, or adjustment to, current and future work plans.
*Excellent troubleshooting skills.
*Participate in providing technical support to the Emergency Response Team for their shift including the provision of facility knowledge, drawings, plans, and their interpretation should the need arise.
*Critical thinking skills including the ability to: 1) raise vital questions and problems and formulate them clearly and precisely; 2) gather and assess data and information and use abstract ideas to interpret it effectively, 3) come to well-reasoned conclusions and solutions, testing them against relevant criteria and standards; 4) think open-minded about alternatives while recognizing and assessing their inherent assumptions, implications, and practical consequences; and 5) communicate effectively with others in figuring out solutions to complex problems

QUALIFICATIONS

-PLC troubleshooting
-Maintenance  and repair of motor controls, general  industrial wiring and hardware, and electrical troubleshooting.
-Maintenance and repair of AC inverters, DC controllers and servos.
-Maintenance and repair of mechanical systems including pneumatics, bearings, seals, gears, chains, sprockets, pipe fitting, and appropriate lubrication of mechanical systems.
-Basic Mig and Tig welding for repair purposes
-The use of shop machinery including mills, lathes, drill presses and normal industrial tools for repair purposes
*Understands Predictive Maintenance concepts and can interpret PdM findings to ensure appropriate repair are planned and executed
*Available for occasional travel to support technical development or other company needs
*Available for working any shift in a 24/7 food manufacturing operation

Preferred Qualifications:
*2 years electrical, electronics, or HVAC degree or equivalent training / experience
*5 years Maintenance experience in manufacturing, preferably in the food industry
*Able to defuse conflict in emotionally charged situations
*Six Sigma Greenbelt
*First Class Stationary Engineers License.  Must be able to obtain within 3 years.

     * Maintenance and repair of plant support systems including boilers, air compressors, high pressure hot water, plumbing and equipment movers
- Must be proficient in at least 3 of the following areas and have basic knowledge of the others:
