This type of thinking is called by some people, spiritual or the freedom of the human spirit. It implies a state beyond the physical or perhaps constraint by the physical. This kind of thinking allowed many people to survive restrictions of physical freedom, for example the holocaust.

Please, tell me what freedom means to you? Are you free? Are you feeling controlled by economical or other power system or by another person? Is that a physical restriction or a psychological or self-imposed restriction?

Are you free and yet are you feeling lost? Are you growing your understanding about the responsibilities of being free? Because being free is not easy. Former prisoners sometimes commit minor crimes to go back to the structured system that had just released them. Erich Fromm said "Man achieve freedom from--without yet having achieved freedom to--to be himself, to be productive, to be fully awake." Where are you? Are you reclaiming your freedom to be you?
Read more:

What is freedom and why are people willing to die for it?

Dance and Smile!

A new day
A cup of water when we are thirsty
Courage: the ability to conquer our personal battles to continue living a meaningful life without being afraid of the circumstances surrounding us...
Gratitude: To be thankful for life, our families, our health, etc.,
Openness: To be willing to see someone else point of view, to put ourselves in someone else's shoes, to really listen to others independently of whether we agree or disagree with their views.
Tenderness: the capacity to see the child and the vulnerable person there is inside of every single human even those who are in power and more so those who are disempower or still very young and vulnerable such as children.

It is the way we learn naturally. Mentors do help their disciples or students to fast track their learning curve and thus to acquire knowledge rapidly and using efficient ways.

Finally, as Jack Canfield (video provided) suggests that you do not give up in your dreams of finding a good mentor. He says that you shall ask questions and follow their steps and suggestions. You also need to correspond and help your mentor-- and be thankful for their help. Besides that I would ask that you listen to your own insights too. If a person tells you constantly that you are a failure, don't follow them, because, they do not know how to guide you. They may think they have good intentions, yet they are putting you down and down with 'their good intentions'. Those people even if they have been given the role of mentor/or have successfully mentored someone else--are not a good match for you. Know that everybody has a gift, and you are not an exception.

This is a useful method to learn to speak in public even if we are afraid. It is also a good program to easy other ways of learning such as to facilitate learning a second language or learning to read fast. It is helpful for students who need to read a lot of content.
"Nothing splendid was ever achieved except by those who dare believe that something inside of them was superior to circumstance." Bruce Barton

"I will study and prepare myself, and someday my chance will come." Abraham Lincoln.
This means that you don't need to be a genius. You can start with nothing. If you dedicate yourself to learn, practice, and master the skills you need to achieve that for which you have set your mind and you persevere, eventually, even if you fail in between.... you'll get there. You also need to find people that can support you or be your partners. These are some of Napoleon Hills Principles.

To the previous quote Brian Tracy added, "Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity." He said that 90% of the fortunes are still made by ordinary business people who sell ordinary products and services in local markets to regular customer [for which they did not needed a PhD]. Book: Create your Own Future, p. 59
Ted Talks selected him for his genius, for being a person whose ''perspectives and surreal stories find the profound hopes and foibles of history (and modern New York) preserved in objects like light switches and signs."

I here paraphrase two of the stories as I understood them. Keep in mind that you may understand something different so please watch the video and feel free to post a comment, even if you are going to tell me that I am very very wrong!

Story 1: Switches [The lack of connections is intentional]

Thomas Edison tried many thousand times until he finally come out with the light bulb that worked properly.

Architects spend an incredible amount of time and money to design buildings-- and even to design the outside cover of the switches.

A designer would then select where the lamps and yet more switches would be located...

Yet, the sound of the switch turning on/off reminds has not been change. It still reminds us of a dirty bathroom....

All these years since Edison and his colleagues,

We have done nothing to modify the sound of a switch On/Off.

Story 2: The size of the lap (perspectives, memories, ego, beauty, and more.)

Here Katchor said that we must be careful...We must avoid paying attention to all architectural ideas, because some of the designs have no place in the world. He gives us reasons to consider the mental health of an architect before hiring him. Yet, keep in mind that any genius needs to keep that wonder of childhood to produce innovations. Great architects, as great scientists, or great artists need to be able to stretch the envelope of conventions...He did reminded us of that too. More importantly, he also reminded us of how humans see architecture...the body architecture. Teens are very aware of the beauty of architectural proportions... they are aware of the relevance of their appearances.
To be able to see the world from a different perspective requires certain willingness to lose control, or to be wrong, or even to be considered a lunatic... To be a genius requires the same. Keep in mind that there is a fine line between geniuses and schizophrenics.

Lesson 1: What his task is. (From The Beautiful Way, 1902, Rev. JS. Kirthley and Dr. Henry Hopkins (Eds.); Ch 1. by David Starr Jordan)

The first object of life is not wealth or fame, but the development of character. It is not what a man has but what he is that makes a man." Samuel B Cakus

It is thus the task of a person to grow and become the best he/she can be. It is the person task to be a man or a woman, to live and enjoy his or her life.
