2020… 2021… 2022… FINALLY, the SummerSesh is coming to Birmingham!

And we’re making the most of the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend

Full details of our plans are below – as always, these are the places where we plan to head for these times, if there are other places you’d rather visit, feel free to do so, but this is where Martin and Steve will be found…

#SummerSesh Day 1 – Friday 3 June

We’re heading to Stirchley to visit two of the most talked about tap rooms in the UK right now. From 1400 we’ll be at Glasshouse and then from 1800 we’ll be at Attic. Spaces have been reserved at both sites so you’ll be able to join us for a few (easy) beers

#SummerSesh Day 2 – Saturday 4 June

We’ll be starting at 1200 at Burning Soul Brewery, before taking a short walk to The Wolf where we’ll be from 1400

The next stop will be The Wellington which is a 15 minute walk and we’re planning on being there for 1545, before moving onto The Colmore Tap at 1700 for #ALLTHECASKJAIPUR cask beers and an opportunity for sustenance/soakage with their pizza offerings

Once we’ve refuelled we’ll be heading to the Post Office Vaults for 1915 before finishing at Tilt from 2030 onwards

We hope that’ll you’ll join us and we’re looking forward to having a few beers with you all!

We’re coming to Manchester and Crimbo Crawl Eve is now A Thing.

This year the Crimbo Crawl heads North again to one of the undisputed heavyweights of the UK beer scene.

Over the past few Crimbo Crawl’s we’ve seen more people arriving to our chosen city the night before and last year in Bristol, Crimbo Crawl Eve was born, so we’ll be continuing that tradition this year.

Full details of our plans are below – as always, these are the places where we plan to head for these times, if there are other places you’d rather visit, feel free to do so, but this is where Martin and Steve will be found (assuming Steve doesn’t wander off again)…

#CrimboCrawlEve – Friday 6 December

From 1700 we will be at the amazing Beer Nouveau, where owner Steve will be around to talk all things beer, brewing, beer, history and beer.

#CrimboCrawl19 – Saturday 7 December

We’ll be starting at 1100 at The Marble Arch, who are opening one hour early exclusively for the Crimbo Crawl. Places for this early opening are now full but feel free to join us from opening at 1200

From here it’s around a 25 minute walk (or short cab ride) to our next venue, where from 1400 we will be hosted at Cloudwater Unit 9. Plans are still being finalised but there may be an opportunity to have a beer with some of the Cloudwater team and for those who are interested to have a little look around the brewery. Plus there’ll be an opportunity to try all of the tasty Track Brewing offerings.

We’ll then move onto Port Street Beer House at 1600, Beatnikz NQ at 1800 before finishing the Crimbo Crawl at Cafe Beermoth from 2030 onwards

Some of you will have noticed this is a much smaller route than in previous years – we’ve taken on feedback over time and this year are trying to spend more time in fewer places rather than rushing to get from venue to venue for a quick beer before moving on

We hope that’ll you’ll join us for some (or all) of the events and we’re looking forward to having a few beers with you all

Here we go again. It’s time to dig into the back of the cupboard cellar to see what wonders you have to enjoy over the festive period.

Into it’s 6th year, the original #12BeersofXmas is a way of enjoying a few special beers over the festive period. It all started off as something that I’d do to celebrate finishing work until the start of the New Year and it’s great that loads of folk now get involved in their own way.

And that’s what the #12BeersofXmas is all about – doing things your way. There’s no prescribed way of doing it, no set beers for set days, just choose a beer, drink the beer and share your thoughts about the beer on your preferred form of social media. Some folk write a blog, some post their thoughts on Twitter or Instagram, and some just check in beer on Untappd. Whatever you’re doing, make sure to use #12BeersofXmas so we can all join in the fun.

I’m not going to list my beers ahead of time this year, but will highlight a few days that are already earmarked. I’ll be starting on Thursday 20 December with Marble Brewery’s annual releases of ‘Decadence’ stout and Barley Wine 2018.

On Sunday 23 December I’ll be opening the #BeerySecretSanta that I’ve been sent and on Christmas Day I’ll be drinking my beer of the year 2018.

All the other days are up for grabs and I’ll be posting my thoughts daily on Instagram. I’m looking forward to seeing what you’re all enjoying this year, Merry Christmas and best wishes for the New Year!

Starting at 1100 at Lost & Grounded, we are going to be treated to a tour of their Krones Brewhouse, before a tutored tasting and chat with Co-Founder and Head Brewer Alex Troncoso

PLEASE NOTE: Please note, the tour & tasting is now full, but you’re welcome to join us at the taproom for a few beers!

From Lost & Grounded we’ve a 30 min walk to The Barley Mow (1330) before moving on to another special little event at Moor’s Taproom (1430) and then heading back into town via The Cornubia (1615)

Another good walk will take us to Wild Beer at Wapping Wharf (1730), The Three Tuns (1845), The Famous Royal Navy Volunteer (1945) before heading to Small Bar for around 2030 until finish
