Mahir, you’re going to your villages today, aren’t you? Why don’t you stay days more in Dhaka city?

Mahir : Oh, no I do not feel comfort in Dhaka city. It’s totally boring.

Sayed : What are the things of city life you do not like?

Mahir : I think life in the city is very artificial. It’s full of business and separation. People lead a very busy life in polluted area. They wake up from sleep in the morning hearing the sounds of motor vehicles,
machines and factories.

Sayed : You are right. But there are many modern facilities you can have in city life. In cities there are many good educational institutions, hospitals and clinics. There’re also many recreational places in the city. It’s often easier to find work here.

Mahir : That’s true, but I think life in the village is far better than of city
life. Village life is quite natural and the people in the village lead a very simple life. They wake up from sleep in the morning hearing the melodious songs birds. They can take fresh food, fruits, fishes, meat and vegetable. Similarly, the villagers are cooperative as well as helpful. The environment of the village is totally pollution free. You can get the scenery of green field and meadows.

Once there lived a poor wood cutter. He used to cut trees in the woods. One day he was cutting wood on the bank of a river. His axe fell down into the river. The river was deep. He could not take his axe out. He sat on the bank and began to weep. Mercury, the god of water appeared. He asked the reason of his weeping. The wood cutter told the whole story. Mercury dived into the water and brought a golden axe. The wood cutter refused to take it. Mercury again dived and brought a silver axe. The wood cutter did not take it either. Internet is one of the most important inventions in history. It is a network of millions of computers around the world, connected by phone lines, satellites or cables. Millions of people from all over the world use it every day. Internet has made the world a real global village which permits us to travel, pay bills or do the shopping without going out from our houses. We can read newspapers, play games or even plan our holidays. A huge merit of Internet is a possibility to download music and films in no time. We can also communicate with other people from all over the world by means of programs like IRC, ICQ or GG. We can join a newsgroup and share our special interests with each other. A very useful thing is an electronic mail, because it is faster than regular post and even air mail. Internet offers a lot of information from every branch of knowledge. So we can find everything for our schoolwork or job there, or just find more about our hobbies. There are some demerits of internet also. Some web sites are not suitable for children, for example sites about violence or sects. In conclusion, Internet has more good sides than bad ones, and I think that it’s improving all the time, so in the future it will be still better.

Earthquake is a sudden movement of a part of the earth’s surface caused by deep crack in the earth or by volcanic eruption. It causes great disaster. Some regions of the earth are prone to earthquake while others are comparatively safe from this natural disaster. It is now frequently felt in Bangladesh. But most of our people are not aware of the gravity of its loss. Because of the recurrence of earthquakes, experts have given more attention to this issue in recent times. Some countries like Japan, Iran etc. are frequently hit by earthquake. Houses and bridges in these countries are built shock-proof. Forecast regarding the occurrence of earthquake is not possible. A severe earthquake causes widespread destruction of houses, and properties. People are crushed under the broken houses. Often several quakes hit a place at short intervals. So after a quake people live in tents in the open field. When a severe quake hits a populous city thousands of people are killed and injured. Many people get trapped in the broken houses and it takes age to rescue them. The only way to get rid o the ravages of this natural disaster is to build houses, bridges and roads in such a way that they can resist the tremors.

Climate change is burning question nowadays. It is now the most unpredictable threat to our planet. The earth’s climate has changed over the last century. There is stronger evidence that most of the warming observed the last 50 years is due to human activities. Because of gas emissions, temperatures should continue to rise over the 21st century. Its impact will be severely negative for both mankind and nature. Human activities that contribute to climate change include in particular the burning of fossil fuels, agriculture and land-use changes like deforestation. These causes emissions of carbon dioxide [co2], the main gas responsible for climate change . And for this possibly many catastrophic changes will be inevitable. The more the greenhouse gasses are emitted, the higher the tendency will be for the earth to warm. It will widespread the melting of snow and ice. Serious consequences will be a rise in sea levels, which will endanger coastal areas and small islands. Therefore, only reducing emissions of greenhouse gasses should reduce the risk of the adverse effects.Many options for emission reduction is available. But the whole world needs to be concerned to remove this fatal threat.

Education is the backbone of a nation. The prosperity of a country mainly depends on the education of her population. About fifty percent of the total population of a country is female. A country cannot expect her prosperity avoiding this large part of population. A man or women without education leads the life of a lower animal.

It is not possible to do everything in life only men. They need the help of women. in that case, female education is necessary in any ways. Firstly, women have some special task and duties. Education is very necessary to do there duties properly. Without education all there prospective faculties will be crippled. Secondly, every woman is a potential mother. Education of a child greatly depends upon its mother. In the case, an educated mother would able to bring up better than an uneducated mother. Thirdly, social responsibilities should also be shared between men and woman. In conjugal life a women can help her husband. For this purpose a women has to be educated. Otherwise she would not be able o understand her responsibilities of family. Besides, women of present society are much neglected women should be educated.

There are some people who are strongly opposed to the female education. They think that women’s only duty is to do household affairs, rearing children and ministering to the comforts of there male partners. For this reason they say it is useless to educate women.

We cannot think of the progress of our country avoiding our female. So all necessary steps should be taken to encourage female education for the survival of our country. It is a matter of joy that our government has already taken different steps for the expansion of female education.

The process of making a friend is a very unique one. It depends on the person. Generally, everyone is trying to become friend with others. Making friendship depends on one's gender and age but most importantly it depends on one's personality. Naturally, every individual is different and how they make friends differs just as greatly. The way I make friends depends heavily on my personality. As an introverted person, I tend to first meet with possible friends through what I call forced association. After the initial meeting, I calculate them and determine whether or not I think they should be my friend. Bonding, specifically male bonding follows and acceptance is the final stage. Before I can investigate into the sometimes mysterious process of becoming friends with someone, I have to tell some personal information. I am a great believer in personality typing: the theory that a great majority of people fall into one personality type or another. It is to say that I am very introverted. This does not mean I am anti-social, it merely means that new and non-routine communication with others duties my energy. The process of making a new friend may be different from others.

factory. Especially the children like it because of

some biscuits, artificial juice, jam, jelly,
chanachur are some of the junk foods. These are
often prepared in unhygienic environment and
they lose vitamin and other food values while
preparing, because they are often fried
excessively and added chemicals to increase
taste. As these kinds of food do not have
vitamins and other minerals, the people in the
habit of eating such kind of food suffer from
vitamin deficiency. As a result they are attacked
by teeth and skin diseases. The chemicals used
for flavour and preservatives also harm our teeth
and skin. So we should avoid junk food and take
home made food. We should take balance food
having proportioned carbohydrate, protein,
vitamins, minerals, and water. We should prepare
food in a way so that it does not lose vitamins
because some vitamins are resolved in water and
might be washed away and others are destroyed
in heat. So we must be cautious about preparing
and taking food.

Smoking is a very bad habit . It is a very dangerous habit, too. It is so dangerous that it may cause cancer, heart-attack, high blood pressure, chronic pulmonary troubles and others serious diseases. Smoking tobacco products is a major health hazard. It is found that one puff of cigarette smoke contains fifteen billion particles of matter inducing nicotine, methyl alcohol, carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, arsenic, Benzedrine and several other acids. These are all really very fatal and injurious to our health. Nicotine constricts the size of blood-vessels which obstructs the normal flow of blood and oxygen in the body. It causes the heart beat faster. Benzedrine, arsenic and tobacco tar are cancer-causing agents in animals and human beings. Tobacco tar forms a brown sticky mass inside the lungs and it hinders the easy flow of blood. The presence of carbon monoxide in the tobacco tar drives out the oxygen from the blood and it is also dangerous. Besides, smoking can cause irritation in the eye, offend the rose and unsettle the mind. After all, the dangers of smoking are quite unlimited and all should avoid it to live a happy and peaceful life.

The difference between sick and ill

To most people, both sick and ill more or less mean the same thing, that you are not in a healthy condition.
Sick is less formal than ill and usually describes short-term ailments or diseases (like a cold or cough). Sick can also refer to feeling nauseous. In British English, to be sick can mean to vomit.
Ill is often for more serious health problems (like cancer or pneumonia) but can also be used for short-term ones.
Illness (noun) refers to a medical condition. Sickness (noun) refers to how you feel.

The difference between ache and pain:
ACHE is a continuous or prolonged dull pain in a part of the body. It can often be a throbbing sensation that covers more than one point. You can sometimes try and ignore an ache.
PAIN is physical suffering or discomfort caused by illness or injury. It is usually a sharp sensation in a specific part of the body and hurts more than an ache.
