I have been using Rank Tracker for quite some time and I have to say it works like a charm and I am always up to date on where I rank in the Search Engines for all the keywords that I care about ranking.

Even though Rank Tracker is a great tool I have found that unless you know what you are doing it can cause warnings from the big G and also run slowly if you are querying many Search Engines for hundreds of keywords. Of course there are ways to set the preferences in the tool using proxies and captcha solving to circumvent the blocks but they significantly slow down the whole process.

Don't get me wrong here, Rank Tracker is, as far as I'm concerned, the best rank tracking tool out there and I am not complaining about its effectiveness.
I highly recommend Rank Tracker.

Trusted Proxies

The site is Trusted Proxies and after a week or so running Rank Tracker I am about to sign up.

The service is very easy to implement and once you've set it up you'll notice that it is blistering fast, I mean blistering!

In one of my databases for Rank Tracker, specifically the one I use for this blog, query exactly 500 search terms in Google, Bing and Yahoo. This process usually took hours to run. Now it takes about 15 - 20 minutes which to me is absolutely amazing. It is incredibly fast.

The people at Trusted Proxies are really accommodating when it comes to setting up a free trial and will work with you and help out any way they can.

I will be doing some more testing over the next few days and will post my conclusions here.

Wordpress Plugin For Keyword Optimization

One of the best Content Management Systems around has to be WordPress. Not only is WordPress great for blogging, it's great for building a website and with all the WordPress Plugins available, you can really get some great SEO right out of the box.

This blog is about the best seo software for mac and I'm sure there are many many Mac users that use Wordpress like I do. So I wanted to alert you about what this plugin can do. And just for the sake of disclosure, I own Keyword Winner 3.0 and I am in their affiliate program.

I'm sure you need to know who is linking to you, what the PR of the linking page is, and the anchor text. There is so much in-depth information featured in SEO SpyGlass, it will soon become your secret weapon.

SEO Software For Mac | Seoquake For Safari 5.0 | SEO Plugin

Using a Macintosh computer with OS X has obvious benefits and the OS comes packed with great software including Safari. However, anyone that develops websites or blogs has probably used Firefox because of the great SEO Add-ons available. You may have asked yourself - Where are all the SEO Extensions for Safari? I know I have.

If you are involved with Internet Marketing, you'll understand that these add-ons for Firefox are essential SEO Tools for Mac.

I don't know about you - I would much prefer to use Safari and I do as my main browser when using my MacBook Pro. Luckily enough, there's a new SEO Extension For Safari that works great and every Mac User interested in SEO should use it.

UPDATE | June 28th, 2011

I have just discovered that the direct link to the SeoQuake extension for Safari did not work and I have changed that link to point to the SeoQuake home page.

I sent support an email informing them of the problem to which they quickly responded saying they have temporarily suspended development of the Safari extension.

They also indicated they are planning to upgrade a complete SEOQuake Safari Extension.

So check back here for updates and for now I suggest anyone wishing to use this excellent plugin, you can download it here for use with Firefox.

Seoquake has an Excellent SEO Plugin that's been used in Firefox for quite some time and is the #1 Firefox Add-on. It's also available for Google Chrome and Now it's available for Safari 5.0.

You can Download New Seoquake For Safari 5.0 and spend more time using your favourite Web Browser with all the functionality that Seoquake for Safari offers. You'll need to make sure you update Safari to 5.0 for this extension to work.

I have been using this SEO Extension for Safari 5.0 for a few days and it works perfectly. Go ahead and give it a try and cut down on your Firefox usage. ; )

Safari Backlinks (Yahoo PageLinks)

I've also been using another free Safari extension that shows a sites backlinks in Yahoo Site Explorer - Safari Backlinks 0.3.

This extension doesn't show every incoming link to a site and is not a complete solution but it can certainly give you a snapshot of who is linking out to a competitors site or your own site.

The whole process of SEO revolves around Keywords. I'm sure this comes as no surprise to anyone that's been operating online for awhile and has done any amount of Keyword Research.

Keyword Optimization involves finding and using the proper search terms that will effectively drive the appropriate search traffic to your site - organic search engine traffic that does what you want them to do.

How each keyword performs can only be decided when you are actually ranking for the keyword and getting traffic. Everything up till that point in time is nothing more than a guess.

Many Keyword Tools are not software which resides on your hard drive, they are Software As A Service (SAAS) which is delivered from the cloud. You pay a monthly subscription for the service and it can get very expensive.

Keyword Research using the Google Adwords Free Keyword Tool won't give you exact results across all search engines, but it's a great tool and can give you a great place to start.

The Wordtracker FREE Keyword Suggestion Tool

If you want to break-out your search data for a daily search volume, The Wordtracker FREE Keyword Suggestion Tool is a great place to go. The data is not as thorough as Google but if you are just looking for search quantity you'll find it there

I use the tool to see how the numbers compare with Google. One of the cool things in Wordtrackers Free Keyword Suggestion Tool is that you will find Long Tail Keyword Phrases that you may have missed in the Adwords Tool.

This is a great feature because when you are just starting the planning phase of a website or blog, it can be very informative to see these long tail searches.

Keyword Research is obviously very important for finding what people are searching for and how they are searching. If you use the Free SEO Tools, you must be highly organized and have a method to keep your research together and easily accessible.

Keyword Elite for Mac is now available in a 2.0 Beta version. That's right!

I did a post August 27, 2009 on Keyword Elite 2.0 Ignores Mac Users where I stated I thought it was short sighted that any developer of SEO software would leave out a Mac version.

Well, I am now officially impressed that an effort has been made to get Keyword Elite 2.0 to run natively on Mac OS X.

I have not tried this software yet but I will be trying it out later on this week, but I did sign-up for the affiliate program and it looks like they have a very good one.

Keyword Elite has been around for quite awhile and I am sure that it has all the bells and whistles but before I recommend it I am going to buy it and try it. It's a tool for Keyword Research which makes it another SEO Tool I may use.

One of the most important things you can do with a website or a blog is to track everything. I don't just track search engine rank, I look at every keyword phrase used by someone to get to one of my pages, posts, websites, or blogs.

You may wonder about my title for this post - SEO Elite for Mac | Keyword Elite for Mac | Real SEO Software For Mac.

Let me explain...

An interesting thing is happening with regard to this blog - THE BEST SEO SOFTWARE FOR MAC. Even a cursory glance should tell anyone what the site is about - SEO Software for Macs. Simple isn't it. One would think so.

I am getting quite a few searches lately for the following terms. (I've copied them from statcounter)

is keyword elite good on macs
SEO Elite 4.0 mac

is keyword elite available for mac

If you consider my post about why Keyword Elite 2.0 Ignores Mac Users, the activity is quite understandable, but it raises a question.

If someone is using a Mac running the best Operating System you can buy and has paid a premium to get it, why would they want to run Windows software on that platform?

It is a testament to Apple that you can actually do this on a Mac, without hacking up your system software, but come on, why junk-up your system by running an unnecessary OS, with bloated code to boot, just so you can use software which the developer hasn't taken the time and effort to be inclusive of other operating systems.

Simply put, I want to use SEO Software that's built by Professionals Developers who have done their due diligence - that is - designed SEO Software to run on each platform.

That diligence alone shows me that the authors of the software have covered all the bases. This fact alone should highlight in the mind of any consumer, that they have paid attention to every detail. And believe me, the details make all the difference.

This is the main reason why I promote SEO PowerSuite and its components on this site almost exclusively.

I know, you're an Internet Marketer and you need Windows to use all the software available, and of course, don't forget Internet Explorer.

Anyway, I refuse to run Windows on any of my Macs so I have a ThinkPad for the exact above mentioned purpose. I only paid $500 for it so it's no big deal. It's a P4 M running at 1.8 Gz with 1Gb RAM. I recently cleaned the whole system and turned off a bunch of system functions running in the background, so, it is not bad running XP.

But make no mistake about it, I hate using it... it's U G L Y ! I have flirted with the idea of running Linux on it but I may get another cheap laptop for that purpose.

But I digress...

When it comes to the SEO Elite or Keyword Elite, I would never install Windows on my Mac just to run these apps. Having said that, it's my opinion and that's all it is.

If you want to use these SEO Tools, you can do it on your Mac if you have Windows installed. I won't, but I have a Windows machine and, if I so desired I could run SEO Elite or Keyword Elite.

The crux of the matter is which product provides you with the best SEO Tools. If you ask me, it's SEO PowerSuite.

There are thousands of little pokey items that webmasters obsess over when they try to tweak a site so it will rank well in the SERPs.

If you have a website or a blog you've probably spent hours researching keywords and trying to rank for them. You've written posts and even traded links with some other blogs in your niche but still can't seem to get near the first page in the big G. So your hopes of getting to the first position start to seem like pie in the sky!

If you are an Internet Marketer, you are probably in lots of different Niche Markets. Finding the keywords that bring in a truck load of targeted traffic is very important.

Obviously, your goal is to convert that traffic into money in your pocket, but finding the search terms that'll bring traffic to your site is the starting point.

So, aside from using the Free Keyword Suggestion Tools from Google, Wordtracker, and Keyword Discovery, how do you really know which keywords to target in your Niche Marketing efforts?

The free tools are only going to give you an estimate and if you compare the results you get from each one, you'll realize how unreliable they are.

Just as an example, I've checked out the broad returns from each tool for the search term "SEO Specialist" and here are the results:

So as you can clearly see, there are differences. This is not only confusing, but how do you know where the sweet spot is - you don't - it's a guessing game.

Now I ask you, if you knew this about each competitor, would that help you? In order to get this depth of info from Market Samurai you would spend days on just one competitor. And in 2 weeks have to do it all over again.

With SEO Spyglass you can either run it for a keyword, or a competitors domain and save it and keep comparing it to the newest info you collect anytime you want to collect. This will tell you exactly what effort the competition is expending on their site and where they are doing the work.

If you want a good keyword research tool - get Market Samurai.

But for a link building strategy, SEO Spyglass will get you crucial information, right off you competitors site, that - if used correctly, will enable you to overtake them in rank.

You also have to remember - Great tools are useless if you don't know how to use them properly.

I just recently ran this software on a site ranked in the top three of a niche that is so competitive you'd think it would take years to even get to the first page. I found a search term I had never even thought of and didn't, as a result, look for in my research.

This long tail keyword phrase never once showed up in any Keyword Suggestion Tool and it's the main term this site is getting the majority of traffic for and probably the glue in the whole effort. However, you'd never know it unless you were told, or you had other methods.

Oh, and if you think any Firefox Plugin is going to show you this, your dreaming cause they don't. You need to crawl the site and follow every link.

I've been on blogs where the blogger actually believes the keywords they rank for won't be found. Ya... if you have this software you'll know what they had for breakfast. You'll be able to target the exact anchor text they are getting the backlinks for and in the exact percentages that has gotten them to the top.

Keyword Elite 2.0 Ignores Mac Users

OK. I am constantly looking for the Best SEO Software to use on my MacBook Pro. Why? Face it! I love using my Mac and who would'nt.

As I've said before on this blog, I've got a Thinkpad but I'd prefer not to even boot the thing up but sometimes I have to. Anyway, in my concerted effort to keep that at a minimum I want all the SEO software I can get for the Apple.

I don't know about you, but the sheer amount of email I've been receiving from the marketing gurus over the last week or so pimping Brad Callens' new version of Keyword Elite had me paying close attention to see if a Mac version was included. Foiled Again - No Mac version.

Oh well - wtf - what's wrong with this picture?

UPDATE - March 29th, 2010
In the Interest of keeping up with the latest developments in SEO Software for Mac, Brad Callen has now made a native version of Keyword Elite 2.0 for the Mac. Keyword Elite 2.0 for Mac OS X is Now Available....

I'm not going to go into convulsions or anything over it, but why wouldn't Brad Callen port this Software to the Mac OS. Is it too difficult to do, or is there so few users that it would be unprofitable? I'd love for someone to answer that question? I won't hold my breath!

I suppose the Market Samurai people love it, cause they are really the only game in town unless you do the Software As A Service option. Oh sure there are a couple of others but I prefer not to denigrate them here now, that's for another party!

The whole No-Mac-Version-Keyword-Elite-2.0 fiasco got me thinking today regarding the whole keyword-research thing to begin with!

I have realized for quite some time now that the majority of keyword research I do is done using the Google and Wordtracker free tools. There are lots of other free keyword research tools if you look around, but are they accurate? Any of them? Not for my money!

I am a crazy guy though, and I always break my own rules, so I bought Market Samurai. But I don't use it for keyword research.

Google and wordtracker is as good as it's going to get, but I wouldn't bet the farm on them, so you need to take the numbers, from everyone, with a truckload of salt.

The major reason I don't believe the numbers in any of these keyword research tools is because I've spent a considerable amount of money running PPC campaigns in Google and Yahoo.

My campaigns have all been about making money selling various products in the real world and believe me, it is not for the faint of heart or for anyone without the financial resources to fail. Risk is the order of the day!

My PPC activity made me realize - that in any of the various Adwords campaigns or Yahoo Search Campaigns I've run, the numbers obtained through the free research tools never show a reliable or even a predictable indication of traffic. It's actually scary when the reality strikes you!

So why would I want to buy a keyword research tool? If I want to know for sure, I could just run an Adwords campaign on the keyword and related keywords to find out what impressions get delivered. It only costs you when they are clicked so what the hell, why not. But you have to be very very careful.

It's not like I'm interested in getting a great quality score or converting the traffic into opt-ins or affiliate sales, I just want to KNOW what traffic is on the first results page for a given keyword. Simple stuff. If it costs ten bucks to find out the keywords you want to develop are junk, it's worth it. You might find a diamond in all that rubble!

If I'm already in the market and have a website, landing page, mini-site, blog or whatever, I'll find out the potential of the keywords I have chosen and I can then adjust them accordingly. It's about the only way I know to find out for sure what approximate traffic there is for a particular keyword in a search engine.

But there is one more way, and I use it every day, to find out which keywords I should chase.

The Conficker Worm | Not On My Mac

This post doesn't have anything to do with SEO Software and is an observation of a few developments that I find a bit disconcerting.

The Conficker Worm computer virus continues infecting Windows-based computers all over the world and has experts confused as how they can protect those precious platforms. The Conficker Worm, Not on my Mac though!

Not available on a Mac. Now there's a bit of software I'm glad not to have.

But on a more somber bit of news, it seems that Microsoft has acquired majority control over Novell and is now the de-facto holder of the copyright of UNIX. This is surely not good news for the open source community. Who know what effect it will have on the Mac OS.

It seems some days are diamonds and dogs, depending on your point of view, all at the same time.

I for one hate the idea of using any Microsoft product on my Mac and considering the now hold the copyright on Unix is scary, to say the least.

As a Mac User, I will just continue to enjoy the great experience the Mac OS provides and try to keep the unsavory thoughts of MS out of my head. I wouldn't want to be Red Hat or Canonical (Ubuntu) at this time. I'm sure the MS bunch will be throwing up as many roadblocks as possible to any wider distributions in the future.

Maybe it will be good for Mac, although anything hindering an open environment for computing is bad for the whole community... Who knows for sure!

New SEO Software For Mac

There's New SEO Software For Mac and it's available in Beta. I've tried it out and it's a bit buggy but I'm sure they'll get it figured out.

SEOLab For Mac OS X Leopard is mainly used as a competition comparison tool. As such they've done a pretty good job and navigation is very simple which is a big plus.

Top Titles
Related Keywords
Top SERPs Comparison

It's an interesting exercise to compare the Domain Name, URL, and the Title in one workspace so you can see how each piece of the on page optimization is integrated for each of your competitors. You can see for each keyword which url within a domain is getting or giving the juice. Being able to study how the title compares is also pretty cool.

For the keywords SEO Software in the Related Keywords tool I got over 400 keywords returned and I was also able to search each individual related term by right-clicking in either of the 3 Search Engines. Nice feature.

Overall I think SEOLab For Mac is a pretty light weight tool but still needs work. Most Keyword research requires, at least, search volume results and other key information. Some additional features would give this software a bit more substance but is a useful tool for the features mentioned above.

Most people that try to Make Money Online all want to use the Best SEO Software.

Why?

To preform the many tasks involved in Search Engine Optimization you must go through many complicated tasks and do mountains of research, all to get to the first page, and hopefully the #1 position, of the search engines results pages(SERPs) for their target keywords. And let me tell you, the competition is fierce.

Fortunately there is a plethora of Software Solutions for SEO available online to help people out. SEO Software helps cut down on the manual labor necessary to win in any given niche that a person is working.

The sole purpose of SEO, in the first place, is to help you solve how to drive traffic to your blog or website.

But most of these solutions are designed for Windows Users. As a matter of fact, most of the Internet Marketing Software around is for Windows. Unless it's a PDF file, almost every piece of software targeted to web masters, bloggers, and email marketers is all Windows Friendly and as a result is Macintosh Unfriendly.

So if you are are a Macintosh User like me, your screwed. I am always inventing little tricks to to avoid having to break out the IBM Thinkpad. Hey, the laptop is a good machine, but I hate Windows and will go to any extreme not to use it.

Sometimes I am shit out of luck and have to cave-in. Ever tried to Rebrand an ebook without using a program specifically for that purpose. It's easier to fire up the windows machine.

Although there is lots of Windows based software around, there is also some great SEO Solutions that are Firefox Plugins that I use all the time. Some are great and some are junk, so be careful.

I have looked everywhere for SEO Software that will make my life easier without putting me in the poorhouse and I have found some free stuff that I won't talk about here because most of it is crappy.

I will post about the great stuff out there and promote it on this blog. And be warned, I do have my favorites and if you are living the Maclife like me, you'll love the stuff I recommend too.

It doesn't matter which task you are trying to accomplish, from Keyword Research to Tracking your rank in the search engines, you need great SEO Software.

Safari is a cute browser, but if you are serious about Internet Marketing, Firefox is the best. It's as solid as a rock and will let you access specific content online that Safari can't access.

it still amazes me that people still use Internet Explorer, considering how horrible it is, but it is the default browser on every Windows based machine out there!

One of these days maybe these platforms will get closer and adopt the Open Standards that will make the Internet a much more usable environment no matter what OS you are using. But that is not the case now.

As this is my first post, I am not going to try and stuff anything down your throat, but I will later. LOL!

I am going to share my experiences with you about the paticular challenges that arise when using a Mac.

I'll also give you the opportunity to get the Best SEO Software on the Mac.
