Over a decade ago Gari Cave got a call that her mother-in-law was found walking down the road in the middle of the night with her clothes flung over her arm. Doctors determined after extensive tests that Gari’s loved one had Alzheimer’s Disease. Although the news was grim, at that moment a dream was born. Gari saw that there was no safe facility at that time for Alzheimer’s patients in San Luis Obispo County and started Garden House. Last week Garden House celebrated its 10th Anniversary as the area’s only non-profit facility for residents with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Listen to Gari’s inspiring story of a mid-life dream fulfilled, and you’ll realize that you’re never too old to start something new!

Over a decade ago Gari Cave got a call that her mother-in-law was found walking down the road in the middle of the night with her clothes flung over her arm. Doctors determined after extensive tests that Gari's loved one had Alzheimer's Disease. Although the news was grim, at that moment a dream was born. Gari saw that there was no safe facility at that time for Alzheimer's patients in San Luis Obispo County and started Garden House. Last week Garden House celebrated its 10th Anniversary as the area's only non-profit facility for residents with Alzheimer's and other dementias. Listen to Gari's inspiring story of a mid-life dream fulfilled, and you'll realize that you're never too old to start something new!
