Today I responded to the pretribulational objection that Matthew 24 does not contain “rapture” language. Pretribulationists repeatedly commit what is called the “word-concept” fallacy. I explained that Jesus does in fact use two “rapture” terms in Matthew 24. Not that these terms carry any technical sense in themselves, because context determines meaning. However, there is biblical precedent for Jesus to speak about the rapture in Matthew 24. Listen to the program to find out what these two terms are!

Today, I responded to the often-heard pretribulational argument that because the word “church” (ekklēsia) is not mentioned in Revelation 4–21, this must mean the church will be raptured before the events in these chapters.

I explain that this argument is based on a very common word fallacy which everyone needs to be aware of. I describe the proper approach to doing a “word” study. I also point out the absurdity of this pretribulational argument by being absurd.
