Psalm 139:13-24

13 You created every part of me; you put me together in my mother's womb. 14 I praise you because you are to be feared; all you do is strange and wonderful. I know it with all my heart. 15When my bones were being formed, carefully put together in my mother's womb, when I was growing there in secret, you knew that I was there - 16 you saw me before I was born. The days allotted to me had all been recorded in your book, before any of them ever began. 17 O God, how difficult I find your thoughts; how many of them there are! 18 If I counted them, they would be more than the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you. 19 O God, how I wish you would kill the wicked! How I wish violent people would leave me alone! 20 They say wicked things about you; they speak evil things against your name. 21 O Lord, how I hate those who hate you! How I despise those who rebel against you! 22 I hate them with a total hatred; I regard them as my enemies. 23 Examine me, O God, and know my mind; test me, and discover my thoughts. 24 Find out if there is any evil in me and guide me in the everlasting way.

New Developments:

There have been numerous new developments at the shop and at home over the past few weeks. I now have my Van from Dish and am officially a "remote". I am going to do my best to be one of the best remotes that I can be. With that said I am still green and I know I am not as quick as many of the people out there that have been doing the same thing for years. I am finishing 2 or 3 jobs a day and some of them are finishing 7 or 8. Some of my coworkers are selling hundreds of dollars in Home Services things like sound bars, TV Mounts and even screen cleaner while I am not really selling any at all. These things will change with consistently applying myself, learning more and more about the products and services and with more and more customer contact.

One thing however that has been constant is that the Bicycle Shop is just not cutting it. Unfortunately he cost of operations is far and away more than the income generated. Based on the performance of the shop and the financial situation which I find myself in at this time I see no reason to keep it open and many reasons to close the shop down. The "rent" is paid until October 1, 2014.

If anyone would like to buy out the inventory, I would be happy to discuss that possibility.. Jim Soos owns about 1/2 of the inventory and I own the other 1/2. . The specialized bicycle tools I will likely keep to work on my own bikes, so basically you would be buying the inventory which includes new and used bikes, lubes, cleaners, tires, tubes, various type of accessories. Bike storage racks and other bike related equipment is included.I also have several "boneyard" bikes I use to get parts from when someone wants to save on parts by using used parts.

I am also fairly sure that Jim would give you a good deal on rent of the space if you would like to keep it right where it is at. Send me an email at bodymindgoals@hotmail.com or give me a call at 229-921-0072 if you are interested.

I am going to try to get by the shop and post some photos of the stuff in the shop including the bikes in a blog post in the next few days. I work for Dish Saturday and have Sunday off, so maybe I can get some photos Sunday after the Couch to 40 K meeting.

Couch to 40K bicycle training program:

The Couch to 40K bicycle training program will start up again Sunday August 24, 2014. We will meet at the bicycle trail parking lot on Lower Meigs Road, just off South Main, here in Moultrie. Everyone is welcome to join us for a ride each Sunday at 3:00 PM.

The program is a ministry of Heritage Church here in Moultrie. This session will meet each Sunday until the weekend before Thanksgiving then start up again after January 1, 2014. There will very likely be at the very least a prayer before each ride and someone may want to discuss some biblical or current event, or even how some current event could be linked to the bible.

We will begin with a short ride and the ride will get longer each week. By the end of the "session" we will be riding approximately 26 miles or about 40 Kilometers. Routes will vary each week. Ther is no charge, but you must have your own bicycle and helmet. Everyone must wear a helmet. Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult ( over 18) .

If you need repairs done on your bike or things such as tubes, tires etc, let me know a few days before the ride and we will do our best to get those issues taken care of forou.

Come join us if you can.

Internet Marketing

I have pretty much at this point stopped doing any sort of Internet Marketing. I just do not have enough time to do that and get other work and family stuff done.

Have a great day

Bible Verse from Daily Devotional:

¹My God, whom I praise,
    do not remain silent,
²for people who are wicked and deceitful
    have opened their mouths against me;
they have spoken against me with lying tongues.
³With words of hatred they surround me;
    they attack me without cause.
⁴In return for my friendship they accuse me,
but I am a man of prayer.
⁵They repay me evil for good,
    and hatred for my friendship.

⁶Appoint someone evil to oppose my enemy;
let an accuser stand at his right hand.
⁷When he is tried, let him be found guilty,
and may his prayers condemn him.
⁸May his days be few;
may another take his place of leadership.
⁹May his children be fatherless
    and his wife a widow.
¹⁰May his children be wandering beggars;
may they be driven^[a] from their ruined homes.
¹¹May a creditor seize all he has;
may strangers plunder the fruits of his labor.
¹²May no one extend kindness to him
or take pity on his fatherless children.
¹³May his descendants be cut off,
their names blotted out from the next generation.

More Training:

Today was my second day with my trainer in Valdsota, everything went pretty smooth. Day 1, we were in Hahira and di two installs. I was allowed to do all the outside work, my trainer stayed with me on day 1 to help me with stuff. I put the "Dish" together and installed it. Day 1 both of our installs were at places where Dish had been previously installed.

Both of those dishes were installed using Western Arc Satellites, this area now uses almost all Eastern Arc Satellites, so we had to change these out and point and peek the new dish. I am at this point only allowed to install up to the Ground Block, and my trainer is allowing me to do that. I think I am improving at least somewhat with each install. I do forget a few things but the more I do it the more comfortable I feel and I think I will get much better at it.

Each day after the work is done, I meet with the trainer and the FSM and we talk about how the day went, what I can do to improve and what they can do to help me improve. In 2 days I (with the help of my trainer) have built and set up 4 Dishes, Installed them on actually 4 different types of mounts and point and peaked them.

The QAS guy came by today at our first job and was asking about a lot of different stuff, then he checked the wiring and the signals on the Dish and said that I was doing great, that he had not seen that high of signal strength across the board on that particular satellite group before, he seemed very impressed. The trainer really helped me and form what I hear he is still helping previous students. He gets calls all the time asking him about stuff and he always does help them.

The trainers also seemed very impressed when I made a suggestion that worked out great for both us and the client. It saved a lot of time and crawling under the house, and actually looked really good while staying well within regulations. The QAS guy was even out there taking pictures.

At this point I am really enjoying the training. I have 2 days left this week. Friday and Saturday. This week has been almost 100% OJT (on the job training). I drive to all the customers homes, I introduce us and verify what the customer has ordered, then the trainer and I go out and do a site survey. We look for good places to locate the dish, then check for line of site with the inclinometer. Once that is done I put together a Dish and install it, then point and peak it and run a scan on it. I use a small meter called a super buddy to check the signal.

If you know me you know I do try to be organized and try to keep whatever tools I might need safe and well within reach. I am having a minor problem with some of the small tools like drill bits and sockets. At Marrietta they have these small "tool tubes" that they use to keep that stuff in, but I did not get one at Valdosta so I stopped at Home Depot and picked up some small zippered tool bags, which I will use to keep some of these small tools organized.

Week 3 will start Monday the 14th and go through Friday the 18th in Marietta, which will be about 60% video and 40% hands on if it works like week 1 did.

Week 4 starts the 23rd and is back in Valdosta, since I am currently only allowed to install up to the ground block, I assume that during this week I will have been sufficiently trained to do entire installations from start to finish. Hope I am right, because the next week I go out on my own, though I really can call for help any time I need it, so it is not like I am totally alone.

Bike Shop:

Nick nor myself were in the Bike Shop today, but if you needed stuff you could just go to the bookstore and pay for it at their register. Until further notice there will be no one manning the Bike Shop on Thursday, however Nick mentioned that he would be in on Saturdays. We used to be closed on Saturday, I am hoping someone being there on Saturday may be a great thing for us.

If all works out Nick said he would not mind doing some clinics like how to change a tire, how to adjust a derailleur etc. and those will likely be done Saturdays. I think people would like that really well and it may help bring in business to the shop.

The Shop now has it's own phone number 229-891-3010. You can still call my cell at 229-921-0072 but when I am on the clock for Dish, I will not be able to answer so you will have to leave a message and I will return the call as soon as I can.

Have a great day

Truck Break in and other news

Bible Verse from Daily Devotional

33 He turned rivers into a desert, flowing springs into thirsty ground, 34 and fruitful land into a salt waste, because of the wickedness of those who lived there. 35 He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs; 36 there he brought the hungry to live, and they founded a city where they could settle. 37 They sowed fields and planted vineyards that yielded a fruitful harvest; 38 he blessed them, and their numbers greatly increased, and he did not let their herds diminish. 39 Then their numbers decreased, and they were humbled by oppression, calamity and sorrow; 40 he who pours contempt on nobles made them wander in a trackless waste. 41 But he lifted the needy out of their affliction and increased their families like flocks. 42 The upright see and rejoice, but all the wicked shut their mouths. 43 Whoever is wise, let him heed these things and consider the great love of the LORD.

Truck Broken into:

I headed off to the bike shop yesterday morning and when I got in then truck to drive out there noticed there was a big hole in the dash where the ashtray used to be. I used my ashtray to throw loose change into. I haven't smoked for many years and do not allow others to smoke in my truck.

There was probably 3.00 or less in the ashtray and some magnet things that Jason and Kevin play with now and then. A bag of the magnets were also in the glove compartment, so they can still play with them. I looked around the neighborhood to see if the ashtray may have been thrown away after the money was removed but did not see it anywhere.

My neighbor across the street had his car also broken into and some change stolen, both of us had left our driver door unlocked.

Tomorrow 7-9-14 will be my first day of "hands on" training for Dish. Wed thru Sat. I will be working with a trainer in Valdosta Georgia actually going on calls with an experienced Technician.

Monday the 14th I will be taking a 4 hour drive to Marietta, Georgia for Week 3, and the second week of classroom instruction, along with a written assessment. Nick is operating the bike shop when I am gone and so far he has done a great job.

If you get to Moultrie do check out the shop and do stop and meet Nick. After the end of training I will only be at the shop 2 days a week, right now that looks like it will be Monday and Tuesday, but that could change.

If all works out I should be done with "training" on the 26th and get my territory and van on the 30th. I am looking forward to that, but right now am doing my best to learn as much as I can from the training.

Hope everyone reading this has a wonderful day

Bible Verse from Devotional:

¹⁷Some became fools through their rebellious ways
and suffered affliction because of their iniquities.
¹⁸They loathed all food
and drew near the gates of death.
¹⁹Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
and he saved them from their distress.
²⁰He sent out his word and healed them;
he rescued them from the grave.
²¹Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love
and his wonderful deeds for mankind.
²²Let them sacrifice thank offerings
and tell of his works with songs of joy.

²³Some went out on the sea in ships;
they were merchants on the mighty waters.
²⁴They saw the works of the Lord,
his wonderful deeds in the deep.
²⁵For he spoke and stirred up a tempest
    that lifted high the waves.
²⁶They mounted up to the heavens and went down to the depths;
in their peril their courage melted away.
²⁷They reeled and staggered like drunkards;
they were at their wits’ end.
²⁸Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble,
and he brought them out of their distress.
²⁹He stilled the storm to a whisper;
the waves of the sea^[b] were hushed.
³⁰They were glad when it grew calm,
and he guided them to their desired haven.
³¹Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love
and his wonderful deeds for mankind.
³²Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people
and praise him in the council of the elders.

Bike Shop and Personal News:

In my last Blog I asked everyone to Pray for their Pastor and ours. I think today we seen the results of those prayers. He seemed to be much more comfortable on stage and presented n excellent sermon regarding Truth and Grace. Hopefully your pastor was equally touched by your prayers.

As many of you know I have taken a position with Dish Network as a remote Installer. I will be working this week Wednesday through Saturday probably 10-12 hour days. This means that I will not be around the Bike Shop on those days.

Nick (the new bike shop manager/mechanic) will be operating the store each day except Thursday. Neither Nick nor myself will be there Thursdays, however you can still purchase tubes, accessories and in stock bicycles, leave a bike off for repair, or pick up a repaired bike, just pay for anything at the Book Store Register.

At this point that looks like it will stay that way for some time too come. Nick and I will often both be there Monday and Tuesday, and Nick will be there other days with the exception of Thursday. The phone number now to call is 229-891-3010 and will not be answered right now if Nick or myself is not in the shop. You can also call my cell phone at 229-92-0072 and leave a message, I will return your call as soon as I can which may be later that day or I may leave the message for Nick to call you back the next day.

Training seems to be going quite well for the new job. I expect to work Wednesday through Saturday then head back up to Marietta Sunday. Class will start Monday at noon in Marietta, and this week we will be going the full 5 days, returning Friday from Marietta. Should probably arrive in Moultrie around supper time Friday.

Bible Verse from Daily Devotional

1 Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
for his steadfast love endures forever!
2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,
whom he has redeemed from trouble
3 and gathered in from the lands,
from the east and from the west,
from the north and from the south.

4 Some wandered in desert wastes,
finding no way to a city to dwell in;
5 hungry and thirsty,
their soul fainted within them.
6 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress.
7 He led them by a straight way
till they reached a city to dwell in.
8 Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love,
for his wondrous works to the children of man!
9 For he satisfies the longing soul,
and the hungry soul he fills with good things.

10 Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death,
prisoners in affliction and in irons,
11 for they had rebelled against the words of God,
and spurned the counsel of the Most High.
12 So he bowed their hearts down with hard labor;
they fell down, with none to help.
13 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress.
14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death,
and burst their bonds apart.
15 Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love,
for his wondrous works to the children of man!
16 For he shatters the doors of bronze
and cuts in two the bars of iron.

Personal and Bike Shop News

It has been over a week since I blogged, and it has been a really busy week. June 29th I left the house about 5:30 to drive to Marietta Georgia. I would get to the hotel about 9:30 PM and meet my roommate. I had met him in Valdosta for a few seconds when I did my last interview with Daniel.

Monday morning I wanted to get in a workout, and I did sort of. The big problem is the Hotel's fitness center is 2 treadmills, 1 stepper and 1 recumbent stationary bike, and I really wanted to do some resistance training, but anything is better than nothing so I spent about 10 minutes on each machine, then went to breakfast.

The hotel furnishes a Free Continental Breakfast, which actually is pretty good. They have biscuits and gravy each day, plenty of Apple and Orange Juice, House blend coffee and Decaf. Cereal, eggs, milk bagels, muffins, bacon and sausage and a pancake machine, so everyone is able to find something to fill up on.

On Monday morning Bobby ( my roommate) and I drove over to the training center. Training started promptly at 10 Am and I think it ended about 6 PM. The trainer really knows his stuff, he has been in the industry for many years and is very professional. We got our tools, PPE, uniforms etc. and set through a bunch of training videos and got to do a little hands on training.

Lunch was at a Blimpies' right down the street. The company furnishes each of us 36.00 on a debit card for our food while we are in training. Each day the card starts out with 36.00 and is cleared each night, then reloaded the next day.

Bobby said he was in the mood for steak and shrimp so we asked the very nice young lady at the front desk about where we could find that and she told us the Marietta Diner and gave me directions. We missed the turn and ended up at Fuddruckers. Had Buffalo Burgers and then went to Schlotkys for desert. When we had took 75 south coming back from the training center there was what appeared to be an accident on 75 North so we did not want to get back on 75 North and the young lady at Schlotzkys told us how to get back to the hotel without going on 75, which was helpful.

Tuesday morning we started class at 0730, more videos, and more videos, but also a lot of hands on training, we built satellite dishes and we did some other stuff, it was a vey full day and we again got back to the hotel close to 1830. Bobby had a friend near there and he went to meet her, I went to Cracker Barrel, they give you quite a bit of food for the money and it is acceptable quality, about what I have found in every Cracker Barrel where I have eaten. Service there is pretty slow, so glad I was not in a hurry.

Wednesday 0730 back in class, more videos, and a lot more hands on, building dishes, doing installs, and even learning the correct ways to go up and down ladders and carry ladders, it was a really a busy day but a very good learning experience. Got off even a little later than the days before but not that much. Bobby and I drove to Applebees where Bobby and his friend had went the night before, he had gotten his steak and shrimp finally.

Our week of training was cut short one day due to the 4th of July Holiday. We still had to get all the training that a class would get in the full 5 days. That can be a 2 edged sword since we were also what I understand is a fairly large class. 11 students as opposed to a normal sized class of 6-8.

After eating at Applebees I still needed to get clothes cleaned, I had one long sleeve uniform shirt clean and one pair of uniform shorts. I really did not want to wear a long sleeve shirt with shorts on Thursday and I also did not want to take a whole lot of dirty clothes back for Ruth to have to wash, so I went to the hotel "laundry" and washed clothes. The washer took about an hour to wash the clothes, I then put them in the dryer and waited another 45 minutes and when I took then out of the dryer many of the clothes were still damp, so I left them lie out over a chair while I got some sleep and the next morning I had enough dry to wear to class. I still ended up bringing Ruth a bunch to dry.

Thursday Morning class again started at 0730 and we did a bunch of stuff, mostly hands on and a few more videos on driving the van, various company policies etc. It was a pretty full day but we were able to leave about 2:00 PM and I got back to Moultrie at about 6:PM. Funny on the way back just about 20 miles south of Perry. One of my bike shop customers called saying he was having trouble with a chainsaw and wanting me to take a look at it. I told him to leave it at the store and I would take a look at it when I got back. I did get to check it and get his problem taken care of after I ate supper with the family.

Friday and Saturday the Bike Shop and the Book store were both closed. Both will reopen Monday July 7 at 10 AM. I spent those days with the family, Friday night we went to Albany to watch the fireworks. Saturday we all went swimming in the backyard pool, dug a bunch of junk out from under the house and just enjoyed the day. If everything works out as planned we will go to church in the morning, possibly have a little picnic tomorrow afternoon and maybe get a bike ride in. After the last week, just need a couple days of R & R.

Monday and Tuesday I expect to be in the bike shop quite a bit. then Wednesday I am heading to Valdosta Georgia to work with a trainer on the van. I will be working with someone that has done this for years and is trained to train others, I am so looking forward to this aspect of training. My understanding is that each week builds on the past week, so the trainer will be working with me to improve my skills and efficiency at many of the things we learned in class, like pointing and peaking, using the inclinometer, and doing installs.

Nick will be at the Bike shop everyday except Thursday. I will be in Valdosta Thursday, so you can still get tubes, bikes and anything in stock, but you will not be able to speak to one of the mechanics on Thursday. That will likely be from now on, as Nick goes to the VA each Thursday, I will be working most Thursdays from now on.

Don't forget that the shop has new phone number 229-891-3010 which rings directly into the shop. At this point there is no message machine or voice mail attached to that line, but I will hopefully get that done soon. If Nick or I are there we will answer that number, If there is no answer then we are very likely not there. Of course there is the possibility that we were not able to get to the phone, but if you let it ring maybe 6 or 7 times and we don't answer then we are probably not there. If you have an "emergency" you can call me on my personal cell phone at 229-921-0072. You should leave a message there if I don't answer because when I am in training I am not able to answer the phone until after I sign out or when I am off the clock.

Special Request;

Last Sunday morning our preacher who is a person that I respect very much. I would do absolutely anything that ZI possibly could for this man. He just about had a complete breakdown when he tried to preach. It has been a rough few weeks for him and for the church as a whole. Each week for the past few weeks there had been some very special events especially some weddings, and each week there had also been funerals, 4 year old dying of Cancer, a member of the church that had been a mainstay in many church functions also passed away, 3 deaths in less than 3 weeks that he had the dubious honor of doing the funeral.

I thought to myself that our preacher really right now needs us to pray for him. I want to ask everyone that is reading this to pray for your preacher. I can't imagine the stress most preachers are under. I don't think many people can.

When I returned from my training my wife showed me an article in the paper, a 14 year old young man from the church we attend had committed suicide and our preacher would be doing the funeral services, so really 4 deaths in 4 weeks and 2 of them children. I don't know about others but I do know that would be a very difficult emotional problem for me. I think anyone with even the slightest amount of compassion would have a great deal of emotional strife having to officiate 4 funerals in a month especially when 2 of these are children, and one is a dear friend.

So please pray for your pastor and ours, I know there are plenty of other pastors that need our prayers also, and that most people never really think about praying for their pastor.

Marketing:

I have not given up on marketing or setting up the sporting goods website or any of that stuff. I have really put everything like that on the back burner so I can concentrate 100% of my efforts on the new position. Tonight I started recopying the notes I got from the last week over to a word document. I was trying so hard to keep up that there are a number of places where I can't even read my own writing, so I am often have to go back to the printed material we were given to make sense of the notes.

I hope to have everything copied over to the word document before I go to Valdosta on Wednesday.
If all works out as planned I should have a really nice well organized space inside my 10X16 portable building for the supplies I will need as a remote installer FSS1 for the company before I get my van. which should be somewhere close to August 1st.

Everyone Please do pray for your Pastor

Have a great day

New Phone Line and a new Bike shop Manager

2014-06-25T17:02:00.002-07:00

June 25, 2014

Personal and Bike Shop News:

Today we had a land line phone installed in the bike shop. The number is 229-891-3010.

Many of you know that I have taken a full time position with Dish Network as an installer. It comes with a good benefits package, quite a bit more per hour than my part time Home Depot job and I really think I am going to like it. I will be working 4 days on 3 days off each week, with my 4 days being 10-12 hours a day.

Because of this new schedule I worked out an arrangement with Nick. Nick is an Army Veteran. He was a diesel mechanic in the Army and knows about bicycles. Nick will be managing the bike shop for a while and possibly quite a while. We have even talked about the possibility that he could sometime in the future take it over altogether or could become a partner in the shop. Those are things that only time will tell.

Anyway if you get to Moultrie, stop by BMG Cycles Plus 1612 1st Ave. SE here in Moultrie and meet Nick..

We have couple of new bikes that are ready to go. one is a full suspension older Wal Mart bike that has new shifters, new freewheel and a whole bunch of other stuff. It was a repair that has been abandoned the bill on it is 132.00, which is what we are asking, but make an offer and we will consider it. I will probably post some pictures in my next blog.

We also have a really nice Genesis MTB bike with Front Disc brakes and a really beefy frame. Really nice bike for the price, asking 119.00 but will take any reasonable offer, has a brand new rear derailleur, new chain and just finished a complete tune up. I will post a picture of it in the next blog also.

The third and last bike I will mention today is a Mongoose 21 Speed, that has upgraded shifters and is in great shape. 115.00 OBO. All three bikes are covered under our special program. When you buy a used bike from us we provide a FREE 30 day check up and 2 Free Tune Ups over the next 2 years. The tune ups can be used as the buyer sees fit. We want to be your bike shop for life, not just a one time sale.

Bible Verse from Devotional:

He makes springs pour water into the ravines;
    it flows between the mountains.
¹¹They give water to all the beasts of the field;
the wild donkeys quench their thirst.
¹²The birds of the sky nest by the waters;
    they sing among the branches.
¹³He waters the mountains from his upper chambers;
the land is satisfied by the fruit of his work.
¹⁴He makes grass grow for the cattle,
and plants for people to cultivate—
bringing forth food from the earth:
¹⁵wine that gladdens human hearts,
oil to make their faces shine,
and bread that sustains their hearts.
¹⁶The trees of the Lord are well watered,
the cedars of Lebanon that he planted.
¹⁷There the birds make their nests;
the stork has its home in the junipers.
¹⁸The high mountains belong to the wild goats;
the crags are a refuge for the hyrax.

¹⁹He made the moon to mark the seasons,
and the sun knows when to go down.
²⁰You bring darkness, it becomes night,
and all the beasts of the forest prowl.
²¹The lions roar for their prey
and seek their food from God.
²²The sun rises, and they steal away;
they return and lie down in their dens.
²³Then people go out to their work,
    to their labor until evening.

Marketing:

Yes I am still doing Internet Marketing, however at this point I am working much harder at getting everything done that I need to do to get set up with my new employer so have sort of put all of my IM stuff on the back burner. I am at this point working toward opening a sporting goods store under the name of BMG Cycles Plus on the Internet. This will be done over the next couple of months and the progress will be documented here on this blog.

At this point I have the URL for the sporting goods store http://www.bmgcyclesplus.combut really have not began setting everything up, I plan to work on that some while I am in my hotel room after I get done with training, but not sure how much time I will have in the evenings. I am guessing it will take several hours but not sure at this point.

Have a great day

Personal News

Yesterday I went to Valdosta and did my e-verify/I-9 forms which kind of "seals the deal" on the new job. The plan right now is that on June 30th I will head to Marietta Georgia for the first week of training. Dish Network will be providing a hotel room, meals and uniforms and the training of course.

Last week I turned in my letter of resignation at Home Depot, I will miss that job. The people there were great and I really d like the job, but Dish has a lot of benefits over Home Depot that I just could not pass up. Dish is full time, THD is part time, Dish offers a "benefits package" that THD does not. Dish is 40 plus hours a week, THD is 20-30 Hours per week, and Dish pays more per hour.

Also I think I will really like working at Dish, I have always had a strong interest in Electronics and have an Associates Degree in Computer Robotics Technology. Also have in the past repaired computers, VCR's and even printers on a part time basis. Many years back even installed a Satellite TV system for a Doctor in Nogales, AZ when I lived in Tucson. I also installed a computer network system about the same time at The Women's Center in Nogales and built computers for other doctors and for several people that would come over from Mexico to get their computers. I even worked with the French Ambassador to Mexico around that time to get him a special Atari Computer.

My understanding is that I will be working the Omega Georgia territory as an installer, however could have installs, repairs, etc. anywhere in a 60 mile radius. The company furnishes uniforms, tools, van, gas and pays well, so I am quite excited about the new job.

I have to work on cleaning out my shed in the next month, so I can store all my "supplies" at the house, It has been needing it anyway. Ruth and I have already started that. That may mean the Storehouse at Heritage is in for a big donation, and much of that stuff has been in there since about 2006 when we bought the 10 X 16 portable barn with loft. I am probably going to turn it into a workshop/Dish Storage area. Or depending on the amount of storage needed may get another portable building that can be used just for the Dish Products.

Dish does have some really neat products like the Hopper and the Tailgater, and I have heard a lot of really good things in the area about their service and products. They even offer a special Glass Cleaner for electronics that is made by disabled veterans, pretty neat way of helping the vets.

I work today at Home Depot so will see about getting some prices on shelving or wood to make shelving that will fit the boxes of Satellite products the Daniel showed me yesterday.

Bike Shop News

With the new job, I am not going to have a lot of time to work on bikes which is sort of depressing but I am not going to just stop altogether. Last week I posted on Facebook about needing some help and received several very good replies.

A young veteran by the name of Nick came by and we have talked a couple of times. Nick was a Diesel Mechanic in the Army and was recently discharged. He knows some stuff about bikes already and is willing to learn more. He and I are trying to work out an agreement to where he could operate the shop when I am not able to be there.

He will be there Monday the 23rd and will work most of the day with me to see how things work out and if we can come to an arrangement then he will be working there for sure during the training period and probably after that also. If your are in the area, stop by and meet Nick.

We will have to get a new phone specifically for the bike shop, I have been using my cell phone for it, but with Nick being there we will get a regular business phone that is specifically for the bike shop. I called Windstream last week and got prices etc, will probably have that installed this week.

Monday Nick will learn how to replace a crank and cut and install a chain as well as adjust a rear derailleur . I will try to show him other stuff, but already know the bikes for both those projects are in the shop now.

The job at Dish is 4 days on and 3 days off with the possibility of overtime on extra days. I plan to be available to help Nick with the shop and anything as much as possible. Right now the consensus is that I will probably be working Wednesday through Saturday as my 4 days during training. I do not know if that will carry through after I receive my van or not.

Bible Verse from Devotional

Psalm 102:18-28

New International Version (NIV)

¹⁸Let this be written for a future generation,
that a people not yet created may praise the Lord:
¹⁹“The Lord looked down from his sanctuary on high,
from heaven he viewed the earth,
²⁰to hear the groans of the prisoners
and release those condemned to death.”
²¹So the name of the Lord will be declared in Zion
    and his praise in Jerusalem
²²when the peoples and the kingdoms
    assemble to worship the Lord.

²³In the course of my life^[a] he broke my strength;
    he cut short my days.
²⁴So I said:
“Do not take me away, my God, in the midst of my days;
your years go on through all generations.
²⁵In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.
²⁶They will perish, but you remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.
Like clothing you will change them
    and they will be discarded.
²⁷But you remain the same,
and your years will never end.
²⁸The children of your servants will live in your presence;
their descendants will be established before you.”

Bible verse from devotional

1 Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. 3 For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods. 4 In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. 5 The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. 6 Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker; 7 for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Today, if you hear his voice, 8 do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah, as you did that day at Massah in the desert, 9 where your fathers tested and tried me, though they had seen what I did. 10 For forty years I was angry with that generation; I said, "They are a people whose hearts go astray, and they have not known my ways." 11 So I declared on oath in my anger, "They shall never enter my rest."

Bike shop and personal news:

Worked today from 8-5 at Home Depot in Moultrie. I worked as a Plumbing Associate which is where I have been most since I started there. I actually like the job and the work, most of the associates are very friendly and helpful and want to do their best. The manager Scott is a really nice man, was really sorry to hear he was off today sick.

I turned my resignation in and my last day there will be the 24th, we have to take Chris to see the Neurologist on the 25th and I decided to take a couple days off before staring my training at the new job.

I also want to make sure the bike shop is all in order before I leave. I am a little behind on my paperwork there and I want to make sure if I hire someone to run it while I am gone that they are also "trained" well enough.

If the right person comes along, I may even be willing to either hire them permanently or sell them the shop altogether. I have heard from numerous people but have not made any sort of decision as yet. I have 2 people that stand out so far, 1 male and 1 female. I am hoping to actually meet with a few of those that contacted me by phone at the shop tomorrow.

Selling the shop is something that I really just thought about. With me working 4 days a week at 10 hours plus per day I have been thinking about many different things and that is just one of them. Just the month I will be training I will be working a lot of hours and will likely be too tired to really do a good job with the bike shop.

If I were able to sell the shop I would then be able to concentrate more on training for the Golden Olympics, and I could still do things like have bicycle repair clinics and get some more rides in. I may even be willing to finance the sale for the right person. and with a reasonable down payment.

I had a customer come in yesterday that needed a tube and had seen my ad on the Internet, found us by doing a google search, at least that ad is pulling some business. If someone would buy the shop they would also get the benefit of that ad until October.

Internet Marketing;

Yes I am still doing some Internet Marketing, which will now include having a complete sporting goods store on the Internet. It is not up and running yet, but I expect it will be before I head off to Marietta on the 30th of June. When I get it set up the readers of my blog will be the first to hear about it. If all works right there will be reviews of many of the products and those will be listed here as well.

One thing some of you may not know is that I have been listed as an "Expert" allexperts.com in cycling and Weightlifting & Exercise . I have been listed as an expert in both categories for many years and have maintained very high ratings. If you do need questions asked about these things, do not hesitate to ask.

Have a great day

New Job and some other thoughts

2014-06-11T12:54:00.001-07:00

June 11, 2014

Bible Verse from Devotional,

12 Blessed is the man you discipline, O LORD, the man you teach from your law; 13 you grant him relief from days of trouble, till a pit is dug for the wicked. 14 For the LORD will not reject his people; he will never forsake his inheritance. 15 Judgment will again be founded on righteousness, and all the upright in heart will follow it. 16 Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will take a stand for me against evildoers? 17 Unless the LORD had given me help, I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death. 18 When I said, "My foot is slipping," your love, O LORD, supported me. 19 When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul. 20 Can a corrupt throne be allied with you-- one that brings on misery by its decrees? 21 They band together against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death. 22 But the LORD has become my fortress, and my God the rock in whom I take refuge. 23 He will repay them for their sins and destroy them for their wickedness; the LORD our God will destroy them.

New Job;

Well I have a new job. I start training June 30, 2014. I will be driving to Marietta Georgia for the training and will be staying there for my first week of training. The second week I will be in the field with a certified trainer. The third week will be back in Marietta and the fourth week back in Valdosta which will then qualify me as an installer and I should then receive my van, tools and supplies to work my territory which I am told will be Omega Georgia.

Funny how that works. I originally applied for the Omega position as there was no Moultrie position being advertised. When the 1st lady from the company called she said that they had a position in Moultrie and was going to put me in for that if it was OK with me. I said sure and went through the entire process thinking I was being considered for Moultrie.. Yesterday another rep from the company called and said I was being offered the position in Omega. I am definitely OK with that.

We plan to head to Valdosta Sunday to pick up some new work boots. I have a good pair of Wolverine boots but they are Brown and black, the company says they only accept plain black boots. I can handle that too. The company will be supplying uniforms, PPE and equipment, tools, van etc. I guess I can get a pair of boots.

The training and the schedule of the new job is going to be hard on the bike shop as I am not going to be there much. I have been trying to figure out how to keep it open while I train and even afterward. My schedule should be 4 days on 3 days off, but one of those 3 days I will have to go to the warehouse and load up for the next week, so that will mean really I only have 2 days off to work on bikes. I have been thinking of "hiring" someone to run the bike shop while I am gone and possibly after I return, and have already heard from one person that is interested in this possibility.

I am searching for a person that enjoys cycling and likes bikes, is not afraid to get a little dirty. This person would also have to be good at dealing with people as he/she would be dealing directly with walk in customers. This person would also have to be willing to learn and operate the software I have recently purchased to run the website and would have to be willing to post to blogs, run ads, post to groups etc and make sure the software works correctly. He/she may have to place ads and do other stuff, basically they need to be me while I am gone. I will be available after my "training" shift by phone and will have to be consulted before they can make any major financial decisions for the business.

The pay is not much I will pay a per hour wage plus a commission of a portion of the profit, probably 50% of any actual profit made. At this point the shop has never actually shown a profit, so it may turn out to be a 5.00 or less per hour job. That is actually more than I have ever made at the shop. I have a person that is suppose to call me later this evening and if all works out I could possibly have her in to work with me a day or 2 next week or the week after, before I leave for Marietta.

I guess we will find out more tonight, if she calls.

Internet Marketing:

As you know I do some Network Marketing in addition to the bike shop and so far I am not really doing that well with the Network Marketing model. I am really considering doing just the bicycle shop with a website and forgetting all MLM/Network Marketing. I have had some minor success with one called Feeder Matrix and it only costs 6.75 to get started right.

If you get to Moultrie, do give me a buzz and if possible we can meet at the bike shop and talk bikes or whatever.

Hope you all have a great day

The Eternal Reign of the Lord

1 The LORD reigns, he is robed in majesty; the LORD is robed in majesty and is armed with strength. The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved. 2 Your throne was established long ago; you are from all eternity. 3 The seas have lifted up, O LORD, the seas have lifted up their voice; the seas have lifted up their pounding waves. 4 Mightier than the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea-- the LORD on high is mighty. 5 Your statutes stand firm; holiness adorns your house for endless days, O LORD.

Today is really the first day "off" I have had in a while, so you would think I would rest and enjoy it, right? I went to the shop and moved some weight training equipment back to the house, helped Ruth clean out one of the big tents, burnt a lot of paper trash and did some other work around the house.

I have to work 8-5 Monday and Tuesday at my Part time job, I have Wednesday off there but already have a bike to upgrade on Wednesday. The bike shop is picking up a little as I had 4 repairs last week and a couple of small sales for things like pedals and chains.

I am still waiting to hear from a job I interviewed for about 2 weeks back which pays almost double what the part time job I have now. The interview seemed to go quite well, and they asked me to take a Urine Drug Screen, which I did. The lady that took the drug screen said that the company would have the results in 48 hours.

I am hoping to hear from them sometime this week. The job would be working outside and working 10 hour days, 4 days a week. I would have to store a weeks worth of product here at the house, but that is not a major problem. Of course that is part of the reason we were cleaning out our storage areas and moving stuff around. We were trying to make more room for any product and tools I would need to store.

Unfortunately because I had to work Saturday so I missed the Wiregrass Bike to Farm Tour in Tifon. I really did want to go this year, but just could not make it. Bret Wagenhorst helps put this educational bicycle ride together and it is always a great ride.

Maybe I will get to ride and learn more about the plants and special types of farming, while getting in a great bike ride.

Past Revisited:

A friend sent this picture of me over facebook today. I think it is from about 2002 or early 2003. I had picked up the National Guard Lanyard at the Southwest Expo in Moultrie a few months before this. It appears to have been taken in the Hematology Department at Tift Regional Medical Center. My glasses have gotten much smaller since then and I have of course some more years on me I was probably 50 or 51 in the photo. I guess time really does fly.

I had a very good interview for another Part Time Job on Friday and am waiting on what I expect to be good news from a full time position I interviewed for 2 weeks ago.

Internet Marketing:

There are a couple of Network Marketing programs that I am working with, and while I have my bicycle shop online I am planning on expanding the amount of online marketing for the bike shop. In fact I plan to set up an entire sports store online, not just a bicycle shop. I should have most of it ready in the next 2 weeks, and will post the links here and you will be able to buy not only bicycle supplies but also bicycles, sports shoes, sports clothing and much more.

If you are in need of a really inexpensive program ( 6.75) that can bring in a lot of money then PM me on facebook and I will send you a link to a great inexpensive program. Here is a link to the BMG Cycles Plus Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/BmcCyclesAndFitness go there, like the page and send me a PM, I will be happy to send you a link that will help you make money.

Bike Shop

I just got on a Kulana Bicycle, 26"cruiser with whitewall tires. It had been left sitting in a moist place for sometime, The chain is completely rusted, the cables are all. rusted and the tires were both flat. I put new tubes in it and that has the ties fixed. The cables for front and rear brakes are rusted too badly to use, so ths will be replaced. The twist grip shifter is also pretty much toast so I will repalce that with a thumbshifter and a little clean up work she will be as good as new.

This bike is a 7 speed and probably ran about 145.00 new several years ago. The person that brought it in is having foot problems and the doctor has prescribed cycling to get her off her feet but to keep her moving. That sounds like a great idea to me. I should have it redy for her Monday morning so she can pick it up. I will have to go to the shop this weekend to get it done, but I really don't mnd that.

A very good used bike that I have pretty much rebuilt is at the shop also and it will be for sale tomorrow, it has been abandoned and I will sell it for the repair charge. It has new shifters, new freewheel, new cables, and even new deraileurs. I have a repair bill on it of 132.00, come in and make me an offer. It has been sitting in the shop for 60 plus days now.

Also I am working on nice Genesis that had been wrecked but there was no frame damage so I put it back together with new parts and it should be ready early next week. I want to test it first before I sell it.

Beliefnet

I don't usually take much stock in Astrology but foud this interesting.

I was born May 21, 1952 so my sign is a Gemni. Have you ever looked at what people write about the various signs? Have you ever seen the things you have read in yourself? I got the following information from the beliefnet site and for the most part I tend to agree with their opinion at least for myself, I can't really say for other Gemini's I don't really ever ask people what sign they were born under, if they want to tell me I will listen, but if not it is no big deal I try to like and get along with everyone, unless they make it impossible, then I simply back off and walk away.

Astrology Insights Into Gemini

The Gemini nature is as mercurial as the planet with which it is associated. Hungry for experience and interested in everything, Gemini is quick and adaptable, and reluctant to be tied down. Their adaptability makes them excellent actors and they are excellent mimics. With a facility for languages, Gemini can the ultimate communicator. The symbol for Gemini is the twins, and there is usually a light side and a dark side to Gemini, and they can often switch between the two with a startling suddenness. This changeability is their strength as well as their downfall. Here is the information you need to get to know the Gemini in your life!

Element and Quality of Gemini

Gemini is an Air sign, and is ruled by Mercury, the planet that governs all aspects of communications. Since Air is the element of communication and the mental realms, Gemini is the sign most concerned with the processing of information. Gemini is a mutable sign – the quality of adaptation and flexibility and while Gemini can adapt to just about every situation, they need nearly constant stimulation and do not respond well to restrictions and pressure to make commitments.

Gemini in Love

Gemini is curious about everything, and wants to try on lots of different personalities and lifestyles. Without a lot of earth and water in their chart, Gemini will be late to commit and even then may resist the idea of fidelity. Their flexibility extends to their moral compass, and they prefer to make judgments on a case-by-case basis than live by any firm moral code. Gemini loves to talk and they are usually good kissers! They are not sentimental by nature and are not likely to fulfill romantic fantasies. Their changing moods may pose a problem, and despite their intellectual abilities they will usually have no idea what is going on within them. They will not enjoy long discussions over the purpose of the relationship, but they will be great companions and endlessly entertaining.

Gemini at Work

There is a bit of attention deficit in every Gemini. Because of the constant need for stimulation and change, they need a variety of tasks to perform throughout their day. By nature they are not well-suited to leadership positions; for them the idea of a hierarchy of power is ludicrous. But because their minds are always racing, they can be tremendously creative especially in fields where communication is important. The Gemini employee needs a liberal vacation policy, since at a moment's whim they will need a change of place. The rare Gemini boss will welcome the opinion of everyone around them but may be hard to pin down when it comes time for that raise.

The Gemini Friend

Your Gemini friend will be a fascinating conversationalist and adept with a joke. They may sometimes be a bit unreliable if something exciting comes up that they just have to try, but they'll always be glad for you to tag along to try something new. Your Gemini friend will want to try the latest restaurant, the new theater, or a party where there is brilliant conversation. While he will enjoy staying in with you to discuss the latest gossip or political situation (to Gemini there isn't really a difference between them!) he is easily bored and may suddenly decide he is ready to move on to the next event.

What Inspires Gemini

Gemini is excited about new experiences that expand the mind and inspire the imagination. They are inspired by new ideas and ways of thinking, and by sharing those ideas with others. They do not like looking back at the past but prefer to look forwards to the options that lie ahead. While they are hungry to learn about life's mysteries, they keep an open mind about what is true and what is not. All information has relevance, and for Gemini the experience of the divine comes through understanding and wisdom.

Actually sometimes I enjoy looking back at the past, but for the most part I look to the future and how I can make it better for my family if possible.

The Body and Health of Gemini

Gemini rules the arms, shoulders, the lungs including bronchi, thymus, upper ribs, and hands. The processes of the body over which Gemini presides are the circulation and oxygenation of blood, disruption of the nerves. Gemini is susceptible to bronchitis, nervous diseases, pneumonia, fractures of shoulders and arms, anemia, asthma and allergies, as well as a general sense of restlessness and nervous tension. Physical activity will help to ground Gemini and keep the nervous system more balanced.

Maybe that is why I seem to feel much better when I workout or get in some cycling.

Metals, Colors and Gems of Gemini

The colors of Gemini are yellow, to stimulate the mind, and pale blue the color of the sky to calm the mind. Gemini looks forward to the future rather than the past, and yellow provides the optimism and promise while the pale blue stabilizes the nervous system. Gemini's gems are agate, for integrating the emotions and protection from bad dreams, and topaz, for purification, empathy and and understanding.

Occupations Ruled by Gemini

Gemini are well-suited for any occupation that requires good language and communication skills, such as acting, writing, journalism, teaching, interpreting, sales. They are happiest in jobs where they they have a great deal of flexibility in the tasks that they perform and the hours that they work. They are good entrepreneurs and adapt easily to a wide variety of situations.

Lessons for Gemini to Learn and Teach

Gemini can teach a great deal about flexibility and the need to adjust to a variety of circumstances. However, with their tendency to become a jack of all trades and master of none, they can learn a great deal from their polar opposite, Sagittarius, for whom life's adventure is a means to find the Truth that underlies all of life.

My wife Ruth is a Sagittarius, we have been together now 43 years, will be 44 in September.

An Apology

2014-05-30T19:02:00.000-07:00

May 30, 2014

First I want to apologize to the current owner of the space where I "rent" for the bike shop.

I mentioned in my last blog that I was considering moving the bike shop to a more suitable location and some reasons why I felt that might be a good idea. After re-reading what I had written I realize that I probably should have worded it differently.

By the way I also considered the possibility of finding someone to run the bike shop part time on the days I am working and leaving it right where it is at. I have considered buying a portable building and moving the stuff from the shop into that. I have considered many things and will keep trying to figure out what is the best way to go. It is probably going to be a rather difficult transition to go from being able to just run out to the shop anytime I want to having a full time job that takes up 40 plus hours per week. It has even been rough with working around my current work schedule but so far we have made it work. It will take some effort but we will get through it if it is meant to be.

You see I do really enjoy working on the bikes, I enjoy talking with the people about the bikes, I enjoy helping people solve their bike problems and I do enjoy running the bike shop. I even had a lot of fun putting that Chinese Bicycle Motor on a bike and making it go, which is one reason I mentioned a more open space. The smell of the gasoline from the Gasoline Motor and the smell from various cleaners and such that I use can get pretty intense so working outside or in a more open area could be advantageous.

One good thing I found out from this though is that at least one person actually reads the blog, I was kind of wondering about that.

Bible Verse from Devotional:

1 I will sing of the LORD's great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations. 2 I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you established your faithfulness in heaven itself. 3 You said, "I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David my servant, 4 'I will establish your line forever and make your throne firm through all generations.' " "Selah" 5 The heavens praise your wonders, O LORD, your faithfulness too, in the assembly of the holy ones. 6 For who in the skies above can compare with the LORD? Who is like the LORD among the heavenly beings? 7 In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared; he is more awesome than all who surround him. 8 O LORD God Almighty, who is like you? You are mighty, O LORD, and your faithfulness surrounds you. 9 You rule over the surging sea; when its waves mount up, you still them. 10 You crushed Rahab like one of the slain; with your strong arm you scattered your enemies.

Great Personal News and Animal Activism

2014-05-28T18:55:00.001-07:00

May 28, 2014

Today I received some great news. I have been attempting to find a full time job for a while now, one with a benefit package and of course a full time income. I had a very good interview last week and have been very impatiently waiting for the call telling me to go get a drug screen. I received that call today.

Tomorrow after I finish work at Home Depot I will drive to Valdosta to have my tox screen done. I will have to put in a notice at Home Depot that I will be leaving there to take another position with full time hours and benefits. Ruth and I are going to have to decide what we are going to do with the bike shop also. Not only that but I have also been asked to interview with a hospital as a Medical Technolgist part time for the weekends.

I am leaning toward trying to find a more suitable location for the bike shop, hiring someone part time to run it while I am gone and keeping it open, but that comes with a pretty large initial investment of funds which I am not sure I can come up with at this point. The current location is very low traffic, and really not a great location for that type of business. Some space closer to downtown or the bike trail would be more likely to draw more customers, also if I could find somewhere that was more open, like a garage, that also would be more beneficial.

The next couple of weeks should be very interesting for our family. After I accept the position I will have to go to Atlanta for 5 days for classroom training. That should be fairly easy since I have a background in this type of work, but since I haven't worked in it for years I am not sure what to expect. Once I get back from Atlanta there will be 4 days with a field coach in Valdosta, then another week in Atlanta and another 4 days in Valdosta. Once the training is completed I should receive my van, tools, and a weeks worth of "product" . I should also after 30 days be able to have my cable at the house disconnected as I will be getting satellite TV as part of my package, not sure about Internet, may get that also.

The company will be furnishing uniforms, a van, gas, PPE , tools and scheduling my appointments. 4 days on 3 days off actually sounds pretty good. Not having to use my own Truck or Van sounds quite good also. I hope this will be my last full time job until I officially retire.

Bible Verse from Devotional:

8 You have taken from me my closest friends and have made me repulsive to them. I am confined and cannot escape; 9 my eyes are dim with grief. I call to you, O LORD, every day; I spread out my hands to you. 10 Do you show your wonders to the dead? Do those who are dead rise up and praise you? "Selah" 11 Is your love declared in the grave, your faithfulness in Destruction ? 12 Are your wonders known in the place of darkness, or your righteous deeds in the land of oblivion? 13 But I cry to you for help, O LORD; in the morning my prayer comes before you. 14 Why, O LORD, do you reject me and hide your face from me? 15 From my youth I have been afflicted and close to death; I have suffered your terrors and am in despair. 16 Your wrath has swept over me; your terrors have destroyed me. 17 All day long they surround me like a flood; they have completely engulfed me. 18 You have taken my companions and loved ones from me; the darkness is my closest friend.

Special note to animal acivists;

Let me first say that I do understand, I too enjoy the company of our pets and consider our dogs to be more than just furry little friends, they are part of the family. I would protect them with my life and I know they would do the same for me.

With that said though I have no problem downing a cheeseburger, eating a chicken sandwich or having ham and eggs or bacon and eggs for a meal. I do enjoy going to the zoo, seeing and learning about animals, and I would never harm an animal unless there was simply no other choice. I would not put my family in danger for an animal. By that I mean if a Deer, dog or a any other animal runs in front of my car, I won't swerve to miss it and lose control of my car or truck.

You may wonder why I am writing this and what difference it makes. It is sort of personal and I won't name any names but this recently became a big problem between two of my friends. I have known both of these people since High School, but have not seen either of them except for our 43rd High School Reunion back in October of 2013.

So here is what I am told happened. One of these people posted something on Facebook about exotic foods and somehow the food "Blut" came up. If you are Asian or ever spent time in the Asian countries like Viet Nam you knw what a blut is, you may have even ate them, with or without knowing what they are. For those that don't know I am going to leave it to you to look up.

One of these friends posted something about exotic foods and mentioned blut. The other friend is married to a person a Asian Decent. One friend decided that they had a problem with exactly what a blut is, now I am sure this person has never eaten one but decided on only what it is that it was not good and felt that it was terrible to treat any animal that way.

I am not saying it is right or wrong but I can say for sure that we don't exactly treat cattle kindly when we kill and butcher them, most people would throw up if they ever saw the way hot dogs or sausage is prepared, and my son who works in a chicken plant will tell you in a heartbeat that chickens ready to be processed are not exactly treated like pets.

Anyway one of the 2 asked me for my opinion and I sent this email back to them. I know there are plenty of people that will disagree, but I am sure there are also plenty that will agree.

My first taste (of Blut) was at Fort Campbell Kentucky. I was there with the Ohio National Guard 1/148th HHC which was at the time a "sister" company to the 101st Airborne (Screamin Eagles), since that was about 1978 there were many Viet Nam Vets there and some had brought back brides from that country that prepared bluts.

I did not like the taste, but then I don't care for the taste of lobster or squid either.

My friend that I worked with at Adel and at Tifton for the past several years is from the Philippines and she loves bluts.

If most people seen how Hot Dogs are made or sausage for that matter they would never eat it again, and what about caviar? Taking the eggs from a pregnant fish? Ever been to a slaughter house where they kill and butcher cows, not exactly Humane.

I love animals too, I very much enjoy our dogs, Peanut and Dixie, but I can't get up in arms about how any culture prepares animals they consider food. That is their culture.

When I lived in Tucson I was fortunate to have worked with the Papago , Now called the Tohono Odam. Once I remember one of the Chiefs telling me that all the "Indians" were getting fat and lazy because of the "Circle K Diet" that was common there. He went on to tell me how the forefathers would eat the bugs and insects and run miles at a time to take messages from tribe to tribe. many of these bugs and insects were eaten whole and alive.

Anyway I think he (one friend) is making a big deal out of nothing. If I got all upset every time someone does not like a post of mine, I would stay upset all the time. You may not be able to control what happens or how someone reacts to what you say or do, but you can control your own reaction in any situation.

Keep smiling, have a great day.

Getting The Exercise Part, Now need to work on the Diet

2014-05-27T11:57:00.001-07:00

May 27 2014

My training for the Golden Olympics has officially started and my riding program has began to take shape. I am going to start being more careful with my diet beginning June 1. My riding schedule may soon have to change from riding early in the morning to riding later in the evening due to the possibility of changing jobs. I will of course cross that bridge when I come to it. I am expecting to know something today (Tuesday).

I am at this point rather excited about the possibility of a new job which is full time, has benefits and pays quite a bit more than my current position at Home Depot, hoping to hear more later today. Even if I don't hear until tomorrow that will be fine.

I did receive a call today from another prospective employer. This position would be PRN and probably every other weekend, so the may be a way to take both the full time job and this part time job. If I do then I will very likely have to do one of 2 things I will have to hire someone to run the bike shop or I will have to close it up altogether. Both the full time job and this PRN job will pay more than the bike shop does. I would still probably do some repairs and such on the side even if I close up shop altogether.

I do enjoy so much working with and on the bicycles, but there comes a time when you have to do what is best for your family and at this point earning money to take care of them is the what I feel is necessary. Of course I am also going to keep working the Internet Marketing thing and hopefully that will start earning more and more each month, in fact I am sure it will with Spinding.

Bible Verse from Devotional

1 O LORD, the God who saves me, day and night I cry out before you. 2 May my prayer come before you; turn your ear to my cry. 3 For my soul is full of trouble and my life draws near the grave. 4 I am counted among those who go down to the pit; I am like a man without strength. 5 I am set apart with the dead, like the slain who lie in the grave, whom you remember no more, who are cut off from your care. 6 You have put me in the lowest pit, in the darkest depths. 7 Your wrath lies heavily upon me; you have overwhelmed me with all your waves. "Selah" 8 You have taken from me my closest friends and have made me repulsive to them. I am confined and cannot escape; 9 my eyes are dim with grief. I call to you, O LORD, every day; I spread out my hands to you.

Internet Marketing

Internet Marketing is a great way to make some extra money or even make a living if you are so inclined. It is cheap to start up compared to a brick and mortar business. With Internet Marketing you can start out as an affiliate with a company like Clickbank or some other affiliate program for free. And you can use articles, blogs, facebook, and at least a hundred FREE places to advertise your products or services. You can make your own product with just a little research and you can use forums, social networks, safelists and other methods of free advertising.

With that said I would like to introduce you to a program that I feel is one of the best out there, and it is pretty cheap to get involved with it is called SpinDing. If you have any interest in the possibility of starting your own business then you should check out this link http://www.spinding.com/jgoodwin31768

The company just announced a new comp program that will go into effect June 1, 2014 and should help all associates increase their earnings. I know it will make a big difference in my own income. I expect that within a year or two at the most my income from Spindidng will be more than my income from my "job".

New Job? New Bikes!

2014-05-24T08:04:00.001-07:00

May 24, 2014

I can't say 100% sure that I have a new job, but the signs are looking very good. I received an email from the same company I interviewed with last week and it is very encouraging. According to the email they want to move on in the interview/hiring process and will be calling me back Monday or Tuesday of next week. Checking my schedule with The Home Depot I see that I am working 5-9 PM on both Monday and Tuesday so I should be available all day to take their call. This would be a full time 40 hour week, 4 days on 3 days off and would pay quite a bit more per hour, so I am rather excited about it.

My hopes and prayers right now are that they are doing my background check and will be sending me for a drug screen next week. That would be the ideal scenario. If that happens then I will have to put in my resignation at Home Depot. I do enjoy working there. and I may ask if they could use someone to work part time on the 3 days I have off, but not sure because I also very much enjoy being with the family and especially with the grandchildren, so will probably just work the new job. Since it is full time it comes with benefits such as health insurance, Dental and vision, and a 401K Plan. The new job also offers incentive bonuses for meeting and exceeding goals, which I really like.

When I find out for sure and assuming that it is positive I will post some pictures of me in the new uniform.

Bike Shop Stuff

I am considering offering some bicycle maintenance courses either at the store or possibly at the Y or some other venue. These very basic like how to fix a flat, how to clean and lube your drivetrain, how to wash your bike etc. As soon as I find out a schedule for what I hope will be my new job I will be setting up times, dates and locations for this. Right now the Tiftarea YMCA has offered space for doing the classes and we could have classes in Moultrie at the Bicycle Shop, so the locations are pretty well set. I am also going to speak with some of the Tifton Riders about putting on a bike rodeo for children her in Moultrie. Possibly the Home Depot would like to have that at their location, I know they have done that in the past.

At the store we now have a really nice Mongoose Mountain bike that has upgraded shifters on it, really clean and in great shape, I have went over it and it does need the rear wheel trued, so I will take care of that probably Monday and it will be for sale for 119.00 OBO. It probably ran about 170-180 new and the upgraded shifters ran about 100.00. 115.00 is an excellent price, also when you purchase a used bicycle from us, we do a 30 day check up, and furnish 2 tune-ups over the next 2 years.

We also offer bikes on consignment and we have 3 right now that are great bikes at great price points. I will put photos of all 3 of them in a future blog. The 3 consignment bikes are a Giant Hybrid, a Schwinn Mountain Bike and a 3 speed cruiser bike. All are in great shape. Drop by the shop if you are in the area and take a look.

We also have a few new bikes, 4 New Free Agent BMX 20" Bikes and a 24" BMX Cruiser. There are a few used children's bikes and one Mountain Bike that as of June 1, 2014 will be sold for the repair charge. I will be putting a photo of that here soon also.

Some new items are being added an should be in next week. I will be carrying some more small parts like chain master links and half links, as some customers like to do their own repairs and save the labor charge. I have some of these in stock now but will soon be adding some more of these repair parts and also some specialty bicycle tools.

Bible verse from Devotional:
1 Hear, O LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy. 2 Guard my life, for I am devoted to you. You are my God; save your servant who trusts in you. 3 Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I call to you all day long. 4 Bring joy to your servant, for to you, O Lord, I lift up my soul. 5 You are forgiving and good, O Lord, abounding in love to all who call to you. 6 Hear my prayer, O LORD; listen to my cry for mercy. 7 In the day of my trouble I will call to you, for you will answer me. 8 Among the gods there is none like you, O Lord; no deeds can compare with yours. 9 All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, O Lord; they will bring glory to your name. 10 For you are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God.

Internet Marketing

Yes I am still doing Internet Marketing and Spinding I still my main program. I like spinding for several reasons. The main reason is that once you have paid your monthly fees then you cycle pretty much daily and so even if you are not really active with recruiting you still can get a check and as long as you make sure the monthly fees are paid ( you can have that done automatically with your earnings) you earn a commission. You may not make quite enough the first month to pay everything unless you are really active at recruiting but by the second month you should be making a profit even if you don't do much of anything. Then it will keep growing and now starting June 1,2014 the cycling should really take off due to the new matrix add on that was approved earlier this month.

One person though told me they simply could not afford to pay the 30.00 for themselves, and 30.00 for 2 others so they could get the benefit of cycling. I understand this perfectly as I myself have been in that position. So here is what I suggest they do and if you are one of these people then this is for you also.

First join the feeder matrix for 1.75 and upgrade for 5.00 so total out of pocket is 6.75 use this link http://www.feedermatrix.com/?ref=jgoodwin31768

Once you have Purchased the feeder matrix system and are in my downline send me an email at bodymindgoals @hotmail.com with the subject FEEDER Matrix, as soon as I receive it I will send you 6.75 by paypal.

I will send you links and suggestions on how to promote the feeder matrix, most will be free or very low cost methods of advertising. When you have an income from Feeder Matrix of 100.00 or month or more which may take a couple of months, use the funds from the feeder matrix to join spinding using my spinding link here http://www.spinding.com/jgoodwin31768 This way you have 0.00 of your own money invested and now you have 2 sources of income.

Once you are making enough money from Spinding to pay its monthly fees from your earnings you will want to start advertising it more and really build that business. at the end of a year using this plan you should be earning in excess of 1000.00 per month in residual income, you can choose to keep promoting and make a full time income, which is what I plan to do.

Join me in this and I will help you all I can, that does not mean I will do it for you, but I will be sending emails to you to help you build your business and that will help me build mine, so everyone wins.

Have a great day

Job Inteview and more

2014-05-22T18:41:00.000-07:00

May 22, 2014

I have been running the bike shop and working part time for Home Depot since February. Today I drove to Valdosta and Interviewed for a full time job. The interview started about 30 minutes late, but once it got started I felt it went very well. We talked a lot about various experiences and about why I felt the job would be something I would like. We also talked about the company benefits and the more we talked the more the interviewer and I seemed to be on the same page. It was a great interview and when I left there I was feeling that I had a very good chance at the job.

After the interview I stopped by The Valdosta Bike Center to pick up a couple of spokes for a bike I am fixing up to sell. A really nice Genesis bike. I will have it in the shop for 110.00 within the next couple of days. I am also working on a nice Mongoose that will be selling in that same price range after I put on a new brake noodle tomorrow.

After leaving the bike shop I headed over to the VA Medical Clinic and picked up the paperwork to apply to the VA for medical assistance, I may not need it if I get the job, but thought I should apply anyway just in case. With all the bad news about the VA in the news lately I sort of wonder if I even should apply. Anyway got the paperwork and will fill it out, more to get VA ID Card than anything else.

Once I got back to Moultrie I changed clothes and went to the bike shop. One 20" bike had sold while I was gone and a person picked up a repair. While I was putting the spokes on the Genesis a customer that had brought me a scooter yesterday for repair came in and picked that up, so all in all it was a pretty good day. I am still trying to get the Tandem going. I searched my junk pile for a 24" rear wheel with coaster brakes, found 2 26" coaster brake bikes and 1 3 speed hub bike but unfortunately no 24" coaster brake wheels. I did find plenty of 24" front wheels though. Guess I will have to order a 24" rear wheel from Hawley or KHS.

I received a junk bike yesterday that was a frame for 26" wheels but has 24" wheels on it and the rear wheel is shot, I have plenty of 26" wheels so I will see if this bike is worth repairing to sell. If the front and rear derailleur are any good it can probably be repaired and sold.

I have this great Giant Bicycle at the store for only 300.00 used. Excellent condition. It is on consignment, so we would really like to sell it. The owner is also motivated so make an offer.

Bible verse from Devotional:

1 How lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD Almighty! 2 My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. 3 Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young-- a place near your altar, O LORD Almighty, my King and my God. 4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you. "Selah" 5 Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage. 6 As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. 7 They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion. 8 Hear my prayer, O LORD God Almighty; listen to me, O God of Jacob. "Selah" 9 Look upon our shield, O God; look with favor on your anointed one. 10 Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked. 11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless. 12 O LORD Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in you.

Termites or ants?

2014-05-21T19:37:00.000-07:00

May 21, 2014

Today is my birthday, I am 62 years of age. We decided that instead of having a big party, we would have a family pizza party tomorrow evening. Ruth and I are both hoping that will be also a "celebration" of a new full time job. I interview for a full time 40 hour a week job that pays quite a bit more than my current part time position and does offer benefits. It would be wonderful to have a full time job again.

Today we also found out we have termites, Ruth and I went to the grocery this morning and when we come back there were small bugs all over the kitchen floor, they were small winged bugs and I was not sure if they were carpenter ants or termites. We called Terminix and they confirmed that they were termites. The cost to get rid of them would be about 1500.00, which we simply cannot afford, but we also don't want to allow them to destroy our house, especially since we recently paid quite a bit of money to get the floors and stuff fixed. Anyone know of a way to get rid of termites cheap. I expect we will have the treatments done at some point but need to find some sort of interim treatment until we can get the full treatment.

Bible Verse from Devotional:

9 Do to them as you did to Midian, as you did to Sisera and Jabin at the river Kishon, 10 who perished at Endor and became like refuse on the ground. 11 Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna, 12 who said, "Let us take possession of the pasturelands of God." 13 Make them like tumbleweed, O my God, like chaff before the wind. 14 As fire consumes the forest or a flame sets the mountains ablaze, 15 so pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your storm. 16 Cover their faces with shame so that men will seek your name, O LORD. 17 May they ever be ashamed and dismayed; may they perish in disgrace. 18 Let them know that you, whose name is the LORD-- that you alone are the Most High over all the earth.

Bike shop stuff

While we are not a big bike shop we are doing some business, probably about as much as can be expected in Moultrie, Georgia. I sold a used Roadmaster bicycle today, and another person that had put 10.00 down on another used bike came in and picked up that bike which sure helps a lot. Yesterday a man came in and picked up 3 master links for single speed chains and 2 other people picked up repairs, so business is beginning to pick up. The spring and summer is usually pretty decent.

I know most everyone knows that I am now putting gasoline engines on bikes for those that want them. If you want I will be happy to put one on for you. Here is how I have decided to do these motorized bicycles. The base price for motor and install will be 300.00 that includes the motor, installation and a 2 gallon can of properly mixed gas/oil mixture that should last through the break-in period. I also suggest that the customer purchase a cycle computer of some sort, preferably wireless, but at least some way to keep track of how fast and how far you are going. The computer is not included in the 300.00. The 300.00 is paid in advance before I order the engine. At this point I have very few replacement parts for the engines, however that is gradually changing, and the more engines I sell and install the more replacement parts I will carry.

One thing I have noticed is that I really need better ventilation in the shop when working on the Gas Powered bikes. I have looked into the possibility of getting a portable building that I can have placed outside near the door and use that for working on the gas powered bikes. Bishop's has a nice 12X24 with a light, receptacles and windows a entrance door and an overhead door 1X 24 size for 140.00 a month and 85.00 delivers, that could be an option sometime in the future.

The 80 CC gasoline powered bicycle engine is really not hard to work on, is pretty simple and unfortunately not of real high quality, when they are received the first thing you really need to do is throw away most of the nuts and bolts in favor of American made threaded rod, and better quality hardware. Then get a higher quality spark plug and purchase an extra chain. The chain that comes with it is of questionable quality, you can usually buy a much better Roller Chain in the proper size at your local hardware store like ACE.

Anyway the cost for a Gasoline Powered 80 CC the engine and installation is 300.00. That is for a standard V frame bike with 26 MM tubes. If your bike is not a standard V frame with 26MM tubes then the cost will go up depending on the bike.

This bike is NOT a standard V frame nor does it have 26 MM tubes, a Bike like this would definitely run over 300.00 to purchase and install the engine. Also the bikes should be a frame that takes a 26" or 700 wheel.

After I met with the Treminex man about the Termites I drove back out to the store and finished a bike I had worked on most of the day. It had been left set out in the rain, the shifter, chain and brakes were all rusted so badly that they had to be replaced.

Internet Marketing,

While I am not yet a big success in Internet marketing , I am finding it to be at least slightly profitable and am thinking that within a few years it may very well be at a point where I don't need to work any longer.

One program that I am having very good luck with so far is SpinDing. SpinDing is a Free app that you download to your phone, then you "spin" and when you do you get whatever you land on. This can be anywhere from a sandwich to a car. Never know what you might "win". If you join with me as a Spinding dealer you will get bonuses and paid cycles. To see what I am talking about check out http://www.spinding.com/jgoodwin31768

Check out this link then get back to me, I believe in paying it forward, so you may very well get in free.

Have a great day

Golden Olympics and other stuff

2014-05-20T10:06:00.000-07:00

May 20, 2014

Tomorrow I will celebrate my 62nd birthday. I have been racing my bike in the Golden Olympics since I was 54 and have done OK. I would however like to do better and I know that is going to take a lot of training and effort. The plan right now is to set up a training program that I can do daily and begin riding and cross training to get as fast and strong as I possibly can.

I have access to plenty of equipment including a road bike, a mountain bike, a trainer and weight training equipment, so that will not be a problem. I am only working part time right now however that may soon change. I have an interview in Valdosta for a full time position which I am really excited about. It sounds like exactly the position I have been looking for and it is doing something that I really think I will enjoy.

I started adding some extra riding in last week and have began getting up each morning at 5 to ride about 6-10 miles before breakfast.. I plan to have that up to 20-25 miles before September 1, 2014.

If I do get the full time position I am going to have to adjust my riding schedule for that, so will probably be riding in the evening instead of the morning. The new "job" will be Monday through Friday mostly days with some weekends and some Holidays, but for the most part it will be a 9-5 type work schedule. It will also be about 90% outdoors which is what I really like about it. I go Friday at 10:30 in Valdosta for my interview. I have already had a phone interview and a written 'test" to see if I was a fit for the job and passed those, so this should e the final hurdle as far as getting hired. At this point I am not sure if I will be able to keep the part time position I have now, but if so then I probably will do both at least for a while.

Of course either way I plan to keep running the bike shop on a part time basis, and if things work out I may hire someone to work there to take care of customers while I work elsewhere.

Bible verse from devotional

1 O God, do not remain quiet ; Do not be silent and, O God, do not be still. 2 For behold, Your enemies make an uproar, And those who hate You have exalted themselves. 3 They make shrewd plans against Your people, And conspire together against Your treasured ones. 4 They have said, "Come, and let us wipe them out as a nation, That the name of Israel be remembered no more." 5 For they have conspired together with one mind ; Against You they make a covenant : 6 The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites ; 7 Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre ; 8 Assyria also has joined with them; They have become a help to the children of Lot. Selah.

Everyone probably knows by now that I am promoting a program known as Spinding. They just announced an improvement in the compensation plan which will take place June 1, 2014 and will help many of us make even bigger commissions. You should take a look at spinding as soon as you get a chance. here is the link http://www.spinding.com/jgoodwin31768

All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them. ~Walt Disney

BMG Cycles Plus,

Most everyone that reads this blog knows that I operate a small bicycle shop in Moultrie Georgia. Many of you know also that I provide SAG support for the Tour de Tifton/Ilse Boyette Memorial Bicycle Ride. Bret Wagenhorst is the Event Director for the Tour de Tifton. This year we had absolutely fantastic weather as well as a great turnout. Below is a picture of Darian Peavey the Tiftarea Y Director handing a check to Mandy the representative of the Isle Boyette Scholarship Fund. The money made for the ride is divided at 90% for the YMCA underprivileged children programs and 10& goes to the Ilse Boyette Scholarship fund. Ilse was a nurse at Tift Regional Medical Center that lost her battle with Cancer about 2 years back. She was also an avid bicycle rider and one of the organizers of the Tour de Tifton.

This year the YMCA received about 10,000.00 and the Scholarship fund received 1000.00. I believe that is the best year we have had so far. I expect that Bret (wearing the blue shirt and Cap) in the photo below is already making some arrangements toward next years ride. If I am able I will provide SAG again next year.

Bret mentioned at this meeting that there will be a short ride on June 7 as the Wiregrass Farm Tour is to be held in Tifton that day. I will be providing more details is future blogs.

If you ever get to Moultrie and have time, stop by the bike shop, at least give me a call. We may go out and get a cup of coffee or something like that.

Have you ever seen or had one of those Chinese Bicycle engines for a bicycle? I put one on for a client a few weeks back and we are learning a LOT about them. I am also finding out that there are others that have shared some of their experiences and I have tried to learn from both their and my experiences with the motor kit.

If you ever decide to buy one of those 80 cc Chinese bicycle motor kits their are several things you should do. Many of them can be done right away and many have to be done as you go (maintenance). The instruction book that comes with the motor is poorly written and sometimes hard to understand, so I am actually going to write up a report and make a video on how to put one together. Not sure how soon it will be done, keep reading my blog and you will know when I get it done.

I will also be doing some videos on basic bicycle maintenance along with written reports to go with the videos. These will be videos of the classes that I will be providing at my shop and at the YMCA in the next few months.

Bible Verse from Daily Devotional,

10 Then I thought, "To this I will appeal: the years of the right hand of the Most High." 11 I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. 12 I will meditate on all your works and consider all your mighty deeds. 13 Your ways, O God, are holy. What god is so great as our God? 14 You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples. 15 With your mighty arm you redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph. "Selah" 16 The waters saw you, O God, the waters saw you and writhed; the very depths were convulsed. 17 The clouds poured down water, the skies resounded with thunder; your arrows flashed back and forth. 18 Your thunder was heard in the whirlwind, your lightning lit up the world; the earth trembled and quaked. 19 Your path led through the sea, your way through the mighty waters, though your footprints were not seen. 20 You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

Internet Marketing

I really enjoy running the bike shop, repairing the bikes and talking with the riders etc, but we live in a very small town so there is just not enough bike business to make a living, so I work part time at The Home Depot and I do some Internet Marketing.

I have over the years been in several "programs" that were suppose to make fantastic money. I still haven't found and do NOT expect to find the program that you can join, do nothing and within a month or so be making enough to quit your job. I have had some success with affiliate marketing and am very excited about a new program called SpinDing.

The first questions I get from most people is "What is SpinDing and How much Money can I make with it"

What is Spin Ding

You can look at it more closely at this link http://www.spinding.com/jgoodwin31768/

How Much Money can you make?

If you follow the directions and the people you bring in follow the directions then you should be making about 14,000.00 a month before too terribly long. You should be making 5-10,000 per month in the first 6-8 months, but even so you are the ONLY one that can decide how much you wish to make and you are the only one that can make it happen.

I will tell you this. I was able to make back my initial investment in less than a month. I fully expect that withing 6 months I will be earning substantially more using spinding than I do working at Home Depot or the bike shop.

Network Marketing and The Internet.

Many Network marketers have made fortunes by combining what is now known as Network Marketing with Internet Marketing. It is a combination that makes sense and works very well, but it is does take effort and work, so if you are not willing to roll up your sleeves and put in some time and effort then you are far better off going to your "JOB" every day and not even trying this type of business venture.

If however you are willing to do a few hours work daily and willing to follow simple directions hen there is a good chance you will be a success at Network Marketing especially when you combine that with the power of the Internet.

Today I am going to show you two different Network Marketing companies, and how one or both can help you make lots of money by combining Network Marketing with Internet Marketing. There are a couple of videos that you can watch to help you understand the companies and their pay plan.

I have found the main thing when choosing a Network Marketing Company is do you like their products, would you use their products and do you see other people using their products. Have you ever watched Shark Tank? Do you hear Mr Wonderful saying over and over that it is all about the money? He is absolutely correct. It is all about the money, but it is also about helping others. If the product or service the company offers is no good or is not something people will use or get excited about then don't invest your time or money into it.

A friend recently asked me to join a program called Wake Up Now. It is a 4 year old "Financial Wellness" program. I really love the Tax Bot program in it and can see others love it also. They also offer discounts on just about everything and some of those discounts are huge. So I joined. The compensation plan is good and the support like through video training etc. is excellent. Here is a link to find out more about the program.

I feel strongly enough about the program that if you join through my link I will refund your first months payment of 100.00. The only thing I ask is that you be willing to do the same for 3 people you sponsor in. Watch this video and you will understand better how it all works. I really feel that this is a program that is going to make a LOT of People a LOT of money.

Bicycle Shop

I just received my new Bike Mechanic Shirt. They were selling these on the Internet so I bought a short sleeve and a long sleeve shirt. They were very reasonably priced, My wife took this photo by my truck this morning.

Also received the Park Tool School books and am planning a couple of beginners courses for cyclists in the area. With luck I will be able to get a videographer for the sessions and be able to load the videos on youtube and vimeo for anyone that wants that information. The courses will be free to the public, however there will be items at the venue like tubes, pumps, tools, books etc that people can purchase. I will be announcing the dates soon. The target dates will be to have one session in Tifton and one in Moultrie in June, July and August of this year. If it works out may try to make it an annual thing.

Bible Verse from Devotional

1 In you, O LORD, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame. 2 Rescue me and deliver me in your righteousness; turn your ear to me and save me. 3 Be my rock of refuge, to which I can always go; give the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress. 4 Deliver me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the grasp of evil and cruel men. 5 For you have been my hope, O Sovereign LORD, my confidence since my youth. 6 From birth I have relied on you; you brought me forth from my mother's womb. I will ever praise you. 7 I have become like a portentto many, but you are my strong refuge. 8 My mouth is filled with your praise, declaring your splendor all day long. 9 Do not cast me away when I am old; do not forsake me when my strength is gone. 10 For my enemies speak against me; those who wait to kill me conspire together. 11They say, "God has forsaken him; pursue him and seize him, for no one will rescue him." 12 Be not far from me, O God; come quickly, O my God, to help me. 13 May my accusers perish in shame; may those who want to harm me be covered with scorn and disgrace.

If you are not willing to risk the usual you will have to settle for the ordinary. ~Jim Rohn

Wake Up Now

Do you need any of the following:

• Develop an income that allows you to leave your current
employment or business—how much income will it take
monthly?
• Develop residual income for retirement—how much do
you need?
• A new car—what is the make, model, color?
• A new home—can you describe it?
• Become debt-free—when and how?
• Grow personally—what skills and characteristics do you
want to develop?

If so then you need to look at this .

Bike Shop Stuff

This is an old Western Flyer Tandem Bike that has really been let go. I picked it up for 100.00, which really was more than it is worth, but I can fix it up to look great. It is really not worth much even if I restore it to new condition. I checked Western Flyers on Ebay and there really is very little market for them. If it was a Schwinn it would be worth 500.00 in the same condition.

I am probably not going to "restore" it like I would if it were a Schwinn or other high profile bike, but I will change out the tires, saddles, and pedals to start with, just putting new or good used in place of the worn out stuff. Then I will removes the chrome parts and everything off the frame and either paint it or have it painted. If I can find someone that does it cheap enough I will have it powder coated. I have to check at Home Depot and see if we have some stuff called Metal Restore. It is suppose to be great at removing rust and this bike has plenty to be removed.

Once I have everything cleaned up, lubed and the stuff that is worn out replaced I will decide whether or not to paint or do powder coating.

Park Tool School

Have not decided on the dates yet, but I will soon be setting up some special bicycle training programs that are based on the Park Tool School Curriculum. The YMCA in Tifton has agreed to be one of our "sites" for these and I am hoping to have some at the bike shop also.

Bible Verse from Devotional

2 May the table set before them become a snare; may it become retribution and a trap. 23 May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent forever. 24 Pour out your wrath on them; let your fierce anger overtake them. 25 May their place be deserted; let there be no one to dwell in their tents. 26 For they persecute those you wound and talk about the pain of those you hurt. 27 Charge them with crime upon crime; do not let them share in your salvation. 28May they be blotted out of the book of life and not be listed with the righteous. 29 I am in pain and distress; may your salvation, O God, protect me. 30 I will praise God's name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving. 31 This will please the LORD more than an ox, more than a bull with its horns and hoofs. 32 The poor will see and be glad-- you who seek God, may your hearts live! 33The LORD hears the needy and does not despise his captive people. 34 Let heaven and earth praise him, the seas and all that move in them, 35 for God will save Zion and rebuild the cities of Judah. Then people will settle there and possess it; 36 the children of his servants will inherit it,and those who love his name will dwell there.

Hope you all have a great day

A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him. ~David Brinkley

I changed the name and description of the blog today. I renamed the blog the same as my business. The web address will remain the same, and really so will the contents of the blog. I am also going to format it so that the bicycle stuff is in one part and the business is in a second part. If that becomes to much of a hassle I will probably just start having 2 blogs, one for business and one for bikes.

Until I see what the followings are for each I will keep them both here. Comment on the blog below and let me know your preference.

Cycling and the bike shop

The plan right now is that this week will start my training for the Golden Olympics. I have already started setting up routes for the morning rides. I set the clock for 0530 and will Begin first thing in the morning. I will ride at a slow steady pace to Highway 319 then back. At this point I am not trying to speed though I will probably get in a few sprints. I need to get back to the house by 7 to help Ruth with Scot, while she takes care of Chris. My plan will be to set up different routes that add up to 20 or more miles and ride them each day, trying to take minutes off my time each day. I will also be doing my best to find as many hills as possible. The terrain in Grovania is rolling hills and some can get quite steep, so I need a lot of hill training. In addition to that I plan to use the Gym at the store for some cross training doing resistance exercise 2 or 3 times per week. This morning was a cool 52 degrees, I did my ride and rode for about 45 minutes, my hands are very cold still as I type this. Average speed today was right at 12 MPH, and I lost the magnet off my crankarm that keeps track of cadence, though that really is not that important at this point. I will put a new one on my next parts order. After we get our 2 sons on the van we Ruth and I will take another ride together, then I have a bike to repair on location before I head to the shop.

I will be placing things like my speeds, distance, cadence etc on the blog for those of you that find that stuff interesting. If all works out well I will be in Grovania racing my bicycle on our 44th wedding anniversary. It would be fantastic to pick up my first Gold Medal on that day.

Some of you have been following my progress with the "Motor" Bike. If so hen you know that I completed it, delivered it and it was running like a top. You also know that the owner somehow screwed up the engine within about 4 hours. He said he loaned it to a friend that screwed it up. We have got it back to where the clutch is catching but it is still not starting. I have ordered another coil/magneto unit as I think that is probably the problem. I should have that by Wednesday and will replace that unit and we will try again to start it. If that doesn't fix it I am not sure it can be fixed. He or his friend may have completely ruined the engine.

Anyway the engine kits do work and I have had numerous people ask about them. Here is what I would recommend when it comes to them though. The book that comes with the engine is very poor to he point of be very close to useless, but I did find a couple of good suggestions in it, it is just not a good assembly manual, nor does it help fix anything. If you buy one of these kits from an ebay dealer go to youtube and watch the videos there. There are some reasonably good videos, and some that suck. If you decide to get one you may want to subscribe to the BMG Cycles Plus as I am planning to add the good videos in there and make some of my own that goes into more detail where those are lacking.

I have had several people ask me about adding these motors to their bike, so what I may do is offer a complete package which would include engine and installation for 300.00. That is to install it on their bike as Long as it is a straight V frame with 25-26MM tubes. If it is a bike like the one pictured here with the extra large tubes then they would have to pay extra for the modifications needed to make the kit fit.

I have been repairing bicycles for several years and have acquired a number of specialty bicycle tool, such as Bottom Bracket pullers, Pedal wrenches, cone wrenches and even crown race pullers. I thought I had a pretty good tool collection, Last week though I had a bike come in which had a standard their piece Bottom bracket that is used on many of the cheaper department store bikes, I have worked on a considerable number of these. This one though was stuck and I could not loosen it with my regular tools as I had done with hundreds of others. I tried drilling it out, but the drill slipped and went right into my other hand. I have a hole there where the bit went in. It has began to heal, but I still hadn't got the piece to loosen, so I called Jt at Hawley. Jt said that there was indeed a special tool that is made by park tool for that, so I had to order one, hopefully I will be able to get that loose when the tool comes.

Internet Marketing

I have been around Internet Marketing for years and Network Marketing as well, several years ago when we lived in Silver City NM I did fairly well as a distributor with Yurika Foods. That has been a long time ago, but I did learn something from that company and from that time in my life that I try to remember any time I promote and Internet or Network Marketing company. Network marketing is not just about making money, if you want to be successful you are going to have to build a relationship with your distributors/dealers etc. Basically you have to have people in your down line that Know you, Like You and Trust you. If you don't build that sort of relationship then you will have a really rough time building a group or a team or a down line.

With a face to face type business like Yurika was back then when really there was no Internet around 1985, it is really easy for people to know you, like you and trust you as they see you each day and some come to your home, some are your neighbors, people you work with etc. It is quite a bit different on the Internet. There are a lot of great programs and people on the Internet, and a few scam artists. I think the honest ones outnumber the scammers but it only takes one scammer to bleed you dry.

You will want to build a list of people that know you, like you and trust you. It si not always a real fat process, but it is an important step. The most common way to do this is to give away something, can be an ebook, a video a lesson of a course you are selling, even a 30 minute phone consultation. The important thing is that it is something that the person getting it will consider it to have value.

So after you decide what you want to promote then you want to find or make something that you can give away, preferably something that is in your chosen niche. If you are promoting a course on golf don't have your free report on flowers, instead something like a free report on how to take 5 strokes off your golf score would be more in order. The free report is given to anyone that gives you their name and email. For that you will need a landing page that you can send traffic too and an autoresponder to send the reports out as soon as the person verifies their email. If your using one of the good AR's like Aweber, GVO, GetResponse etc then they will keep track of your new subscriber. You then send followup emails that provide news and offer products and services that the people you have on your list may want.

There are a number of great Autoresponders out there I have only named a few so far. One that has come on the market recently that not only is an autoresponder but is also a complete business opportunity is the M and G Autorepsonder for information on this click here This program not only provides you with a full function Autoresponder but also provides you with guaranteed leads daily. Watch the video see what you think.

If you join through my link here, I will help you build your business. I won't do it for you but I will help and I will be here if you need any questions answered. You will have my cell phone whee you can call or text me when you have a problem.

Bible Verse from Devotional

13 But I pray to you, O LORD, in the time of your favor; in your great love, O God, answer me with your sure salvation. 14 Rescue me from the mire, do not let me sink; deliver me from those who hate me, from the deep waters. 15 Do not let the floodwaters engulf me or the depths swallow me up or the pit close its mouth over me. 16 Answer me, O LORD, out of the goodness of your love;in your great mercy turn to me. 17 Do not hide your face from your servant; answer me quickly, for I am in trouble. 18 Come near and rescue me; redeem me because of my foes. 19 You know how I am scorned, disgraced and shamed; all my enemies are before you. 20 Scorn has broken my heart and has left me helpless; I looked for sympathy, but there was none, for comforters, but I found none. 21 They put gall in my food and gave me vinegar for my thirst.

All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them. ~Walt Disney

BMG Cycles Plus- Moultrie, Georgia USA

You notice the name of my business is BMG Cycles Plus. I am sure you know by now that the BMG Cycles part is a bicycle shop. In the bike shop I repair virtually all styles, brands and types of bicycles. I have even been known to put motors on bicycles turning them into a sort of Moped. In addition to repairing bicycles we sell Fuji,SE, Free Agent, KHS and Manhattan Bikes.

So you may be wondering what the "Plus" is. We have a small workout room in the bicycle shop where people can work out or I can train them. I was Certified as Personal Trainer actuallyy before I started the Bicycle Shop. So that is one "plus".

I also do some Internet/Network Marketing. I have searched and been involved with many Network Marketing Programs over the years and have found that there are a LOT of great programs out there. I have had to limit what I take on simply because it takes time and money to get them set up and to promote them. The great thing about Network Marketing is the residual income, build once and get paid forever. If that sounds good to you then I invite you to take a serious look at this opportunity by clicking here

After you check out the WUN website, send me and email or PM me on facebook, you an even just comment on this blog that you want me to contact you and leave your contact info. I will be happy to do that. If you're are serious about making money in a solid Network Marketing Company. I will even help you get started.

If you don't believe you can afford the fees associated with WUN, then check out this link where your upfront cost can be as little as 1.75 and in a few short weeks, you will have enough to join WUN, so check it out simple and cheap. Just click here

Do comment below on the blog, let me know what you think. I will soon be adding some articles that should help with any business. If you send me a write up for your business I may even allow some guest posts .

Bible Verse from Devotional,

1 Save me, O God, for the waters have come up to my neck. 2 I sink in the miry depths, where there is no foothold. I have come into the deep waters; the floods engulf me. 3 I am worn out calling for help; my throat is parched. My eyes fail, looking for my God. 4 Those who hate me without reason outnumber the hairs of my head; many are my enemies without cause, those who seek to destroy me. I am forced to restore what I did not steal. 5 You know my folly, O God; my guilt is not hidden from you. 6 May those who hope in you not be disgraced because of me, O Lord, the LORD Almighty; may those who seek you not be put to shame because of me, O God of Israel. 7 For I endure scorn for your sake, and shame covers my face. 8 I am a stranger to my brothers, an alien to my own mother's sons; 9 for zeal for your house consumes me, and the insults of those who insult you fall on me. 10 When I weep and fast, I must endure scorn; 11 when I put on sackcloth, people make sport of me. 12 Those who sit at the gate mock me, and I am the song of the drunkards.

Hope Everyone had a Fantastic Easter

Bike Shop

As many of you know I am not only a bicycle shop owner/bicycle mechanic I also do some Internet and Network Marketing in fact if I did not do Internet Marketing I would probably have to close up the bike shop. Moultrie is a small town and there just is not enough bicycle business to keep a full scale shop open. I enjoy the shop and I really enjoy the people coming in and telling me their bicycle problems. I enjoy being the one they come to with these questions and I usually have the answers. I also enjoy researching and finding the answers I don't know.

A couple weeks ago a man came into the shop with a pedal from a small John Deere Toy farm tractor. The Ertl Tractors do not use a bicycle pedal, but I was able to find a place that sells nothing but new and used toy tractor parts on the Internet. I gave the man the information and he was able to order the parts he needed to fix the John Deere for his grandson. I was happy to help the man and happy that his grandson would have a good toy.

Last weekend was the Tour de Tifton, and I provided SAG for the ride and provided the water bottles for the riders also. Of course the water bottles have our name on them and are advertising expense, but providing SAG was a great opportunity to network with cyclists from all over the area.

A friend from California introduced me to a program recently. This program helps people save on lots of products and services and even has a special service that helps save money on your taxes. If you think you would be interested in saving and making some extra money or possibly replacing your current job with a more secure income then this may be just what you have been looking for. This is not one of those "ground floor" opportunities where the company starts up, sounds great and then goes out of business before they pay anyone. This company has been around since 2010 and is financially sound. Watch the video by clicking here. If you feel like it may be for you that is great, if you don't then it is no big deal.

The one thing I do know though is that if you want to change things in your life you have to make the changes. You are the only one that can change your future and to do that you need to take action. so watch the video and make a decision or don't, it is totally your choice.

Bible Verse from Devotional
1 May God arise, may his enemies be scattered; may his foes flee before him. 2 As smoke is blown away by the wind, may you blow them away; as wax melts before the fire, may the wicked perish before God. 3 But may the righteous be glad and rejoice before God; may they be happy and joyful. 4 Sing to God, sing praise to his name, extol him who rides on the clouds -- his name is the LORD-- and rejoice before him. 5 A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. 6 God sets the lonely in families, he leads forth the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land. 7 When you went out before your people, O God, when you marched through the wasteland, "Selah" 8 the earth shook, the heavens poured down rain, before God, the One of Sinai, before God, the God of Israel. 9 You gave abundant showers, O God; you refreshed your weary inheritance. 10 Your people settled in it, and from your bounty, O God, you provided for the poor.

Chiseled Faith

Several months back I became involved in a company called Chiseled Faith. This is a faith based fitness and health program. The program targets Christians and Christian Churches. It can be a fundraiser for the church and at the same time be a fitness and health program for the church members and supporters. At the current time I am the "Regional Relationship Director" for Chiseled Faith.

At one time I was a Certified Personal Trainer with the NAHF. That agency went out of business and I did not get re certified right away. Recently I have decided to get certified again and chose the Fitour certification since I could do it online.

There is now a small workout room at the bike shop where people can come to workout. If you take a chiseled faith course through us, using the workout area is included in the fee.

I guess that is all for today, have to go remove a bottom bracket from a bike at the shop so I can replace the bearings.

Have a great day

Chiseled Faith
I Corinthians 6:19-20 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

Tour de Tifton

Last evening I received this very nice letter from Dr. Bret Wagenhorst who is the event director for the Tour de Tifton/Ilse Boyette Memorial Ride

Ilse Boyette was a remarkable lady: dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, nurse, church volunteer, and cyclist. On Saturday, April 12, beneath blue skies and bright sunshine, a number of people paid tribute to her memory and helped raise money for the Tiftarea YMCA by bicycling the scenic south Georgia roads she so loved to ride. A portion of the event proceeds will also go towards a book fund for nurses at TRMC in her memory. The fifth annual Tour de Tifton / Ilse Boyette Memorial Bike Ride was a success due to the contributions of numerous people, whom we would like to take a moment to recognize and thank.
A big thanks to all our sponsors, including: GOLD LEVEL: Roger Barlow, DMD, The Stafford Companies, Douglas Vascular Center, Bret Wagenhorst, M.D., Stella and the Bunco Babes, South Georgia Surgical Clinic, The Howard Diet Center. SILVER LEVEL: Affinity Express Care, BMG Cycles Plus, Georgia Sports Medicine, Central Plumbing, Dr. Shah - the Oncology Center, Jones Construction, Kiwanis Club of Tifton, Lon Kemeness, Attorney at Law, Tifton Rotary Club, Kunes Real Estate and Appraisal, BRONZE LEVEL: Ameris Bank, APB Wealthcare Advisors, Golden Environmental, Dr. Wesley Walker, South Georgia Physicians for Women, Flowers Financial Group, Kunes Real Estate and Appraisals, and Tiftarea Greenways Association.
The staff of the Tiftarea YMCA, including Darian Peavy, Jason Bishoff, Rick Hawkins, Rick Shoniker, Priscilla Bell, and Penelope______ all were incredibly helpful with set up, registration, and general logistics. We are appreciative of Y board members Butch Davis, Beth Bernard, and Jonathan Jones for helping out. Thanks go out to Marion Curry and Penny Peters for organizing a slew of great volunteers for the rest stops. Nelson Kunes, Joe Wilson deserve applause for planning a great spaghetti meal, which was prepared or served by Jimmy Dill, Beth Bernard, Jean Courson and________. And thanks to Merchants Food Service, Melba Knight, and Ruby Tuesdays for helping supply the food. We are grateful to Jerry Goodwin for providing SAG support and event water bottles. Kudos to Roger Barlow, Sharon Petzel, Steve Wright, Paul Horst, and Yale Leiden for helping to accurately mark the 242 miles of course routes! Cheers to Faye Brannen for speaking about Ilse and to Angie Carr, for singing a magnificent Star Spangled Banner to start the event off. Thanks to Hannah?, Dillon, and Wishum for taking photos of the riders and the event. Thanks to Plant Telecommunications for creating a YouTube video for the event. Many thanks to all the folks who helped out providing refreshments to the riders at the various rest stops including: Melinda Anderson, the Bunco Babes (Donna Webb, Marlene Mathis, Faye Brannen, ), Trey Nixon and the cub scouts, Dave Groff, Jimmy Ballenger, Terry Harwood, Rick Lester, members of the Tifton and Tift Co. Rotary Clubs (Jo Windom, Marion Holland, Vicki Horst, Jeff Gibbs, Jean Courson, and Syd Blackmarr), the folks from Diversified Enterprise and members of Bethel Baptist Church and members of Chula First Baptist Church.
The food and drink you provided the riders helped sustain them on their journey. And we are grateful to the local churches, businesses, and individuals that let us use their facilities for the event, including Shingler UMC, Bethel Baptist Church, Dairy Queen in Ashburn, Divya’s Convenience Store in Rebecca, Dan and Ellen Corrie, and Chula First Baptist Church.
Thanks also to Claire Moon and Renata Elad for helping with all the numerous details that needed to be done Friday afternoon to get ready for Saturday. The Tift Co. Sheriff's Dept. deserve recognition for providing deputies and officers to help keep the riders safe on the roads by stopping traffic at the start of the event. Ernest Lang of Lang Printing did a great job with the event maps and posters and Montgomery Printing did a fine job with the event t-shirts and decals.
And of course, we are thankful to all the riders who came out to spin their wheels for charity. We had about 150 riders complete either the 11/24/45/62/100 mile routes, including riders from as far away as Knoxville, TN, Augusta and Atlanta, GA and Tampa, FL. All totaled these riders logged several thousand miles in Tift and surrounding counties that day. Cheers to all for making the event a big success. I imagine Ilse is smiling up in Heaven.

Sincerely,
The Tour de Tifton / Ilse Boyette Memorial Bike Ride planning committee
