Liz is the founder of the Center for Networking Excellence which develops products, programs and seminars to help professionals and entrepreneurs attract new clients through networking.  I first met Liz through Twitter, the wildly popular micro-blogging service that is connecting millions of people worldwide.  So, that gives you a first hand example of how well she knows networking in this connected world.

What inspired you to write the book?

When I started speaking and writing about networking five years ago, online networking was very nascent. But my focus from the very beginning was always about networking smarter, not harder, and I applied that thinking strictly to in-person activities. Now we have tools that can take the “smarter not harder” mantra one step further. And while a lot has been written, and still continues to be written, about the tools themselves, I think what most people really want to know about the tools is not about every feature, but about how it can help them speed up, reduce or eliminate steps in the networking process. I thought it was time for a book that brought those two worlds together into one cohesive package.

The first step is to signup for Twitter.   Most people will choose to use their real name as their nickname or some other variation.  This can help establish yourself as an expert in your niche.  Next fill out your profile.  It is best to complete your profile, with a picture, before you start following other people.  This will make it more likely that someone will follow you back.

Once you have your profile complete it is time to start following.   Just go to the search function and search on a topic of interest.   Browse a couple of the users to get familiar with their interests.  When you find someone of interest, just click the follow button.  Their updates or “tweets” as they are known in the Twitter world, will start showing up on your home page.

You can also find an authority in your niche and start following their followers.  This way you know that they are interested in similar topics.  Start watching the tweets and get a feel for some of the topics discussed.  Reply to a few and get involved in the conversation.  This will go a long way in attracting followers.

Support will be the number one consideration for people when choosing a web host. It will be obvious that traditional advertising will become less and less effective. Most people would rather opt for the web host based on things that they see and hear. Also based on the recommendations by those who have tried them and have proved to be a successful.

How does one become a successful affiliate in the niche markets using web hosting?

Always remember that when choosing a web host, choose the one that is known for its fantastic customer support. There are also many hosting affiliate programs. Residual affiliate program is also being hosted. This is the program wherein you get paid a percentage every month for a client that you refer. This can allow you to have a steady source of income. With perseverance, you can even be quite successful in this field.

There are a lot of niche markets out there just waiting for the right affiliate to penetrate to them and make that dollars dream come true. Knowing which one to get into is being confident enough of your potentials and the good results you will be getting.

It will be a tough road ahead to try and unseat Google at the top of the search engine market.   Many have tried before, but none have come even close to capturing the market share.  Somehow I don’t think that Google will be losing any sleep over it.
