9 Reasons Promotional Products WORK For Your Business

2013-04-02T11:35:00.001-07:00

Promotional products raise the bar when it comes to their ability to attract new clients, dramatically increase brand awareness and ultimately grow your business. I mean we all have to "spend money to make money" right? Right. But the question is, just what are we supposed to spend our money on that will deliver these results? Well I'll tell you what, Promotional Products! They are a proven self-sufficient way of marketing your company to a large scale audience while doing minimal work to do so. Sounds like a good idea does it not?

Of course if your new to the idea of promotional products, I can understand you might be a little hesitant towards the whole idea. Well despite your fears, I strongly suggest you continue reading on and find out what promotional products can do for your company. Ready? Here we go.

1. Opening Lines of Communication
The old saying, "give and you shall receive comes into play

More often than not, giving an individual a gift promotes a feeling that he/she must return the kind gesture. And when it comes to giving a promotional product, giving a gift will make him/her more likely to do business with you. YES! L.J. Market Research did a study that found 52% of participants given a promotional item, ultimately do business with that company. The remaining 48% of participants said they would be more likely to do business in the future because of their kind gesture.

Promotional product giveaways are also an excellent way to start conversation with a potential client. Look at it as something that will allow you to "break the ice" and engage in conversation. And, because you gave them something they are more likely to listen to what you have to say.

2. Drawing Attention
"Hey, Look over here!"

Correct me if I'm wrong, but everyone wants to be the center of attention at the trade show right? We all want attention for our companies and brands and guess what? Promotional products are a great way to attract that attention! There is no more powerful word in the world of marketing than the word "FREE", so why not offer free stuff? You already know that promotional products can help open lines of communication, but they can also get people to you all their own!

Your trade show booth can only be seen but so far, so what do you do to reach those on the other side of the convention center? Send a promotional item their way! Easy. The recipient will most likely be wandering around the trade show where others will see them. That will strike up conversation similar to the following:

"Where did you get that awesome bobble
head?" "Really?!" [Your Compnay] is just giving them away? I'm on my way!"

"Oh shoot, I lost my pen..oh how convenient, this booth is giving out [Your Company] pens!"

And just to show you that these are not just outrageous claims, we turned to Exhibit Surveys, Inc. who did a study that determined that there was a 176% increase in trade show traffic to a booth that gave out promotional items. How do ya like that?

3. They Stick Around for a Long Time
"Wow, I still have this thing"

Conventional advertisements generally run for a set period of time. Tv ads mighy run for a couple of weeks, billboards a few months and so on. Promotional products are unique in that they could potentially advertise to new markets for an unlimited period of time. Think about the promotional products that are generally inexpensive: pens, t-shirts, key chains etc. These items are simply useful and easily used in every day life, making them susceptible to long term exposure.

Then you have other promotional products such as custom bobbleheads or personlized tote bags and coffee mugs. These are unique items that make lasting impressions and increase brand awareness. Every time a person sits at their office desk or takes another sip of that coffee, they remember your company. The number of impressions with traditional advertising stops when an as stops running on TV or in the paper. Promotional products never stop collecting impressions because they are always in use or being passed from one person to another. Alas, the cost per impression using a promotinal item is considerably less than that of traditional advertising. Can't argue with more impressions at a lesser cost!

4. Dramatically Increase Brand Recognition
       "Repeat, Repeat, Repeat!"

Brand recognition requires repeated exposure to the brand name, slogan, and logo. One of the best ways to remember something is seeing it over and over and that's when good ol' promotional products shine. Customers are more likely to remember your company if they have been exposed to it hundreds, or even thousands of times. A promotional product has the ability to show off your brand on a daily, hourly and even minute to mintute basis. In fact, according to Schreber & Associates, 39% of all people who have received a promotional product in the last 6 months can remember the name of the company associated with it. How awesome is that?!

5. You Want Brand Exposure, You Got It
Expand beyond your view and think outside the box.

So, you don't think your getting enough brand exposure with traditional advertising methods? Promotional products to the rescue! Promotional items have an uncanny ability to reach an audience far beyond your targeted boundaries. Here are a few examples of how this can be accomplished.

T-shirts: Think of them as walking, moving, breathing billboards for your company. Promotional tees are often worn in the gym or simply while out on the town exposing themselves to hundreds, even thousands of people each trip.

Pens: These change hands at an alarming rate. People are constantly taking notes, jotting down this and that or writing reports using pens, but most importantly, they're shared. This allows your branded pen to reach an astronomical number of demographics during its life cycle.

Custom Bobbleheads: These pretty much speak for themselves. Bobbleheads have been around for years and are great for laughs and cheering people up. Now you can have the custom made to your specifications and include everything from mascots and logos, to custom lettering and more. These are being used more and more for trade show events, corporate giveaways and other special events.

6. Promoting a Favorable Image
       Pssst! Guess what? I'm awesome!

Brand reputation can oftentimes take a lifetime to develop into one that is particularly positive. Why not go ahead and cut down that time by using promotional items? Here's a fun little fact for you: 71% of participants in a study done by Louisiana State University could remember the company's name that gave it to them. You can count on these people having a favorable impression of the company a well, simply because of their gesture of goodwill. Promotional items can also be given to employees to reward goals met, accomplishments or good work ethic. More than likely, that employee will then continue to work hard at an equal or greater level because of the feeling of appreciation they received because of your generous gift.

7. The Gift That Keeps On Giving
This was great. Now I want to share it with you!

I know what your thinking. Re-gifting is a forbidden practice. The thought of someone passing on a well thought out personal gift to someone generally promotes blood boiling anger but not in the case of a promotional product. If this product is passed along, you should be elated!

People share. People share stories, emotions, and most importantly, people share stuff. Recipients of promotional items are more likely to pass them along to someone else and this is exactly what we should hope for! In other words, the more a promotional product is passed along, the greater total audience it sees, the smaller our cost per impression gets and the bigger our smiles become. It's a known fact (thanks to the Advertising Specialty Institute) that 62% of those who receive a promotional products will give that item away before throwing it out.

Think of it this way:
1 person is given a promotional product.
That 1 person exposes that product to 100 people.
If you give out 100 promotional items and each of those items was passed around 100 times by its recipients, you will have gained 1,000,000 impressions with just 100 items!
That’s what we in the business call incredibly effective advertising.

8. Why Limit Yourself To Just a Target Audience?
More impressions = more business generated, period.

We've all heard, been taught, or thought about a target audience. What we don't think about however is the possibility that our perfect customer is outside of our current targeting boundaries. That's where promotional products come in handy!

Promotional products have no geographic or demographic limitations and because of their mobility, items such as USB drivers, t-shirts and pens have the ability to reach a vast number of people you may never have gotten the chance to advertise to.

9. Sell More, Make More

A simple bobblehead could be the reason for your largest client.

The whole purpose of advertising is to generate revenue for your company. What's great about a promotional item is, that's exactly what they're designed to do! Baylor University did a study that concluded, companies whose sales people utilized promotional products did 22% more business than those people who didn't.

Due to high exposure rates, promotional items create a positive affiliation with your company and can help to generate sales at an alarmingly rapid pace. Meaning? Your going to be recommended more often than a company who did not use promotional items because of your giving reputation and that's a great feeling!

Expand Your Company

What are you waiting for?

You've seen the evidence; you've seen the examples, now its time for you to make a move. Promotional products are an extremely effective and efficient form of advertising and they can do absolute wonders for your business. Of course, its understandable if your still a bit cautious about diving into uncharted waters but if you believe in your company and your product, there is nothing to be concerned about.

Online digital marketing is emerging as the basis for future marketing efforts but that doesn't mean we should abandon past, proven tactics. Learn from the past, embrace promotional products, and enjoy the ROI that comes with them.

Why Custom Bobblehead Dolls?

Why Custom Bobble Head Dolls?

With every person I meet they always ask the same question, "what made you get into that type of business?" Well my original plan was to start a business selling comic book and movie related merchandise. But one day I sat down and thought, "wouldn't it be cool to have a product that was made based on the actual face of a person." You see celebrities like Arnold Schwarzenegger portraying characters that have their own dolls so why can't we have something to sort of immortalize ourselves and get a few good laughs at the same time? I thought it would be great to have someone actually take the time to sculpt a personalized figure of a person. So after months of planning and talking to the right people Face It Figures was created which for those of you wondering means your face on a figurine.

A custom bobble head is an ace in the hole when you've given every possible gift you can think of and you want to give something that will be enjoyed for years. Let's face it, many gifts nowadays are so impersonal with no real thought behind it. But I challenge you to find one person who wouldn't get a kick out of seeing a caricature figure of them self with an over sized bobbling head sporting a big cheesy grin on the face! And each one is unique to that person so no two are ever alike. You can capture the personality and personal features of a person simply by adding that mole to the cheek or adding the jersey of a team that that person loves. It's not just a gag gift, but with the amount of thought and creativity put into it, it can have a real sentimental personal feeling behind it. To me that says so much more than just going out and buying your average gift. That's going the extra mile.

Bobble of me as a football player

Honestly, I have always been a kid at heart. I still read comic books (Spider-man being a personal favorite) from time to time and yes I enjoy and good cartoon once in a awhile so don't laugh! I guess my product is sort of a reflection of who I am. I enjoy a good laugh and try to uplift people during hard times. Life can be very stressful and we need things that bring joy into our lives and help us maintain, even the simplest of things. I wanted a product that I could be truly proud of. A product that would allow someone to use their imagination and actually put thought behind its creation. Yes we have master artists that spend vigorous hours sculpting these bobble heads, but they wouldn't exist without your ideas and creativity. It's like each bobble head produced has it's own personality and story behind it. That's what makes them so much fun to me. Each client has a new idea for a custom bobble head and you eagerly anticipate the outcome every time.

One of the most rewarding things about this business is the responses I get when a client receives the product proofs. It's a great feeling to see the shock and excitement when they see an image of the sculpt for the first time. That's why even though these are meant to be funny caricature type figurines of a person, I want our artists to capture as many facial features as possible working with different photos. Yes it can be quite difficult capturing the facial features working with a digital photo but to not carry any likeness at all would be unacceptable. I want the customers to be eager and excited about the project as I am. Giving my own personal ideas and concepts in addition to the customer's requests not only allows me to get involved on a more personal level, but will help to ensure a unique quality product every time.

Custom bobble heads continue to increase in popularity but many people still have never heard of them. It's a response of sheer surprise every time I mention to someone what it is I do. I love the fact that we can carry a unique product that can be created in almost limitless ways. A product based on a person's creativity and imagination. They're miniature works of art that are not just mass produced and sold but actual thought is put into each and every one. Most importantly, my products make people happy and bring smiles to the faces of their recipients. If I can contribute just a little bit of happiness in life to otherwise stressful and sometimes disappointing times, then its a great day for me. I truly believe in my custom products and what they can do for people.
