I'm going to start by saying I purchased the paperback and its better for gripping than the hardback..LOL!! I sped literally through this book as it's got the kind of storyline that has you on edge and tense for most of the book. I loved it!! I googled to see what it was about. I thought it sounded similar to the movie, ''The Village'', with Bryce Dallas Howard. Upon reading the book it does have for part of the book that feel of what is out there , outside of the fences. But that's where it stops!! Mary just wants to see the ocean. The forest has been her home and the home of the villagers for many many years. The "Unconsecrated'', are the zombie like , once human, now flesheaters who moan and groan and claw at the fences trying to get to the villagers. Unfortunately some are family members no doubt of the villagers. I won't give the story away as it is fast paced and tense read. A couple of The Sisterhood, in my eye, needed a good reality slap. The fences are the only things that will save you and your ability to out run. Lordy I would have been caught in a heartbeat..LOL!! and unfortunately would have been looking very fugly, no doubt hankering for your flesh and moaning. Travis is the lad I most liked in this book. Its primarily a book about survival with love under the worst conditions thrown in. Does Mary make it to the ocean?...well read :D

I'll warn you Carrie Ryan does not hold back on her writing . An awesome friend of mine didn't have the sequel ready to read once she finished TFOHT. I did!! I spent the next week texting her about how fantastic ''The Dead Tossed Waves'' ( sequel) was. Hint!!! Have both books before starting as you will be hankering to read ''The Dead Tossed Waves'', immediately!!!

A very thrilling/tense read.

Ok...... So I had quite a few people tell me..."You have to read the Wicked Lovely Series. It's great and you wont be disappointed". So after reading through a lot of other books in my book stack, I decided it was time to give it a go. I am very fortunate to have an awesome friend who bought me the first 3 books of the series for my birthday (Thanks Twinny!!).

Away I went, sinking my eyeballs into book 1 - Wicked Lovely. WOW!!! Melissa Marr can certainly create an amazing faerie world. Getting your head around the rules, laws and hierarchy of faerie courts is continual throughout the whole book and sometimes feels as if it is taking over the story. The characters are a wonderful mix of smexi, ruthless, tough and generally lovable.

And then there is Keenan........Summer Court "kingling"! Some may love him.... I loathe him. Seth is a modern day (& pierced) knight in shining armour who I longed to read more about.

By the end of the book I was screaming out for more Seth and wanting to banish Keenan to the Dark Court to be punished.....
As long as you persevere with the faerie knowledge bestowed upon you as a reader, you will have begun to read a very magical and creatively written series of books.
The next book in the series is Ink Exchange.

HOURGLASS by Claudia Gray ( Evernight Series #3)

You are now knee deep in the series, aren't you? You have got hold of Hourglass and you will not be disappointed.
No storyline spoiler here...just read..read!!!
Two words for you, 'diving board'..are you up for that scene? Claudia will shock you...POW!! you...and make you wanna take Vic and Ranulf home to meet your mum. You could even cry...I don't even have to tell you to read, you are way ahead of me now.

Like myself when you finish Hourglass you will be ..AAAGGGHHHH!!!! as you don't have ''Afterlife'' to grip firmly and start reading. YES!! that is the fourth book, release date is currently 1st March 2011.
With a sad face ( trust me it's sad), I wait patiently for Afterlife , waiting to continue the adventure/ride that Claudia takes the reader on.

P.S I told you you wouldn't be disappointed:D

Now you have read Evernight..it is time for Stargazer.
You will not be disappointed...POWS!!..Nummy Num Num's. By now you will understand a Nummy Num Num..aptly named I thought. Vic and Ranulf the gorgeous duo..ya gotta love them.
Again I will not spoil the storyline with my ranting..I will say one word 'Óbservatory'..hold on to your seats!!!!
Read and tell me if I was wrong..I dare you:D

Oh do I love this book!!!!!
If you read nothing this year..nothing at all...read the Evernight series. I could spoil and talk about the 'POWS' , ( these are unexpected twists/turns in plot)
I could talk about the Nummy Num Nums = ( read and you will understand )...I could talk about the Nummy Num Num POWS!!!!!! = ( read and you will understand + twists/turns).
Claudia takes the reader on an adventure in all 3 books to date. You will love Vic ( I do)..you will have discussions with your friends about are you Team Balthazar or Team Lucas.

These books are story of love, betrayal, friendship that could be more ..but ..... I could rant about the storyline as I love to rant about a book I just adore, but, the POWS!! and Nummy Num Nums will be spoilt.
All my friends nearly fell off the bed reading one particular POW!!..again sshhhh!! I cant say anything..just read and tell me if I was wrong..I dare you:D

WARNING!!, WARNING!!..Please get your hands on the other 2 books to date, Stargazer and Hourglass before commencing Evernight or else you will be AAAGGGGHHHH!!!! if you don't have the sequels to go on with straight away. Once you grip the book firmly and open , you will fly through the series.
