John only wears jeans

John would only wear blue jeans.

Not pants, not shorts, and not any other color but blue!

And not just any pair of jeans, he always wants to wear 'cool' jeans, i.e., jeans with bold designs, logos, and patches.

It was OK with Wifey since she has a lot of patience with him, heck, with everybody. However, on the day when I'm (supposedly) in charge, I run into conflicts with him.

Finally I just come out and ask him why?

"Because I want to be like you!"

Me, I ask?

"Dad, you always wear jeans. And your jeans are 'cool'"

They are?

"You never wear other pants and you don't wear shorts."

I have tried to explain to him that I wear jeans when I work out of UniMatrix Zero-1, but wear dress pants when I leave the house, and I don't wear shorts very often as i only have less than 5-pair. To no avail.

Now I have to wear business-casual pants in the house instead of jeans, and purchase more shorts for the summer.

However, I am NOT dressing business casual with shorts. Ever!

I watched CSI: Miami the other day for the 1st time, and what I saw prompted me to watch CSI and CSI: New York to verify that I wasn't dreaming!

Forensic technicians packin' heat?

Just like they are sworn officers of the law?

One name came to mind immediately.

Dennis Fung

Yes, Dennis Fung!

He of the OJ Simpson murder trial.

The guy who botched the forensic evidence. Reportedly.

Can you imagine Dennis Fung, or even the coroner of Los Angeles County talking to former LAPD detective Mark Fuhrman in the same way the CSI droids talk to actual police officers?

Fuhrman, or any sworn police officer, would not, and should not hesitate to shoot those punks immediately!

Couldn't f-ing believe what I was watching!

When we were compiling our respective Christmas lists, I asked Wifey for a Segway, and blogged about it here.

To allay her fears, I also wished for the Segway Centaur concept.

When we were at CES, one of the attendees purchased a Segway.

After showing her this pic of me longing after one, she sends me this picture, telling me that, "If I want it, I got it! Immediately, too."

I have the feeling I'm being dissed. In a major-league way, too!!!

Driving to Red Bluff tomorrow

Dayton, Ohio, to Red Bluff, California.

This is going to be, by about 600 miles, my longest solo trip. Total about 2900 miles.

The good thing about this trip, is that it is only a one-way trip.

The moronic car transport company could not get us a combined car transport from Mobile, Alabama, our former home, where my other vehicle is, and Dayton, where we had spent Christmas.

Also, the house we had rented had to be let go, because our Realtor took one look at it, remembered about Trez (John III), and said, "No. No way!". The house has a 70' beach leading to the Sacramento River, and no retaining wall.

I have to thank her very well: Kris Tucker, Accent Properties of Red Bluff. We will only buy from her!

Last day in Mobile

Today is our last day in Mobile, Alabama.

My project had been completed and submitted to the client. Who is extremely pleased with the results. (Hopefully, that extends to the final bill.)

We have put our house up for sale, rented a new place in California, pending the building of our own home, and are saying our bye-byes.

We have made some friends here: Basil Oigbokie, Dr. Roy Smith & family, Nakila Hall & family, Dr. Egie Emovon & family (since moved to Charleston, SC), Chantal & Family, Juliette Pierce & Family, among a host of others. They will be missed.

We will be leaving in the early am mañana for Dayton, where we sill spend the next four weeks.

The owners (Paschal & Isi & Ifi & Emeka) don't know this, but their house is now our winter home!

Let me go pack.

I'm driving to Dayton with the family.
