Boston Celtics beat the Heat of Miami's Threesome

Congratulations Boston! The Celtics deservedly won at home and did a great job in holding of the superstars of Miami, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh in the NBA Opening Night matchup.

Rajon Rondo served a game-high 17 assists with dishes galore all over the floor. Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce were their usual magnificent selves and they carried the team's offensive load. Allen hit a 5 of 8 threes and one important trey with 49.8 seconds to play to put the Celtics up 86-80, and they kept it up for the win.

Meanwhile it's nice to see the new Celtics roster of Shaq with little Nate Robinson too.
The other O'Neal, Jermaine was on the bench and I can't wait to see him play more minutes.

Celtics cut Rasheed Wallace from the roster

It's time to waive Rasheed Wallace. Bye bye sheed, the Celtics aren't going to need you anymore. Although you did pretty good in spurts last season and in the playoffs, the addition of Shaq and Jermaine means you're surplus.

The C's will still pay for his remaining contract but get nothing in return.

We didn't even get a draft pick or anything for him isn't that a total waste? So...

Shaquille Rashaun O'Neal is gonna be a C! Once he joins the Celtics this NBA season we will totally tear apart all other teams!

With Kendrick Perkins out with an injury, the coming of Shaq is a blessing. Now imagine Shaq the big Leprechaun paired up with Jermaine O'Neal. What a beautiful sight to see! All the other teams will be green with envy as they can alternate, play at the same time just for fun, and also be part of either unit.

We've got a powerhouse team that keeps improving!
And if you look at my post more than a few weeks ago, Shaq just may be our lucky charm.

I can dunk over Dwight Howard!

Rajon Rondo is the most versatile point guard in the NBA right now. He's got the length with his wide reach, speed thats uncanny, he steals the ball in every game, he chases the ball with hustle and rebounds it like a forward or center, out leaping taller players inside, all this while he shoots in the paint and enjoys dancing around defenders.

He's unselfish and assists his teammates well, in fact he has broken Bob Cousy's franchise record for assists in a single season. Rondo is a young point guard who has much learning and improvement to come in the next few years.

He's got passion for the game and one time refused to get substituted for foul trouble, he's grown in confidence while playing with the big three all-stars around him, Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce.

Heading into this season, he's got a lot of motivation to reclaim the championship after losing out to the Lakers in the Finals. He now has a new center to play with in Jermaine O' Neal, and another season full of experience in the playoffs under his belt. This coming season will be an exciting one as the Eastern conference has become stronger with multiple player movement including...
a move for LeBron James to the Miami Heat.

It's gonna be a battle to win the East and I can see some challenging games ahead to get to the Playoffs. A good lineup has returned to give it another shot and Rajon Rondo now has a secure Nate Robinson to back him up.

Rondo has the hops as seen in the photo here where he dunks in front of centers like Dwight Howard fearlessly!

Did you hear about that Turkish Center the Boston Celtics signed? Semih Erden is a 7-foot, 240-pound center.

He was the 60th pick in the 2008 NBA Draft. He won Turkish League championship and averaged 8.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. More after the jump break >

Erden shot an impressive 62.4 percent from the field during the 42 Turkish League games that he played in last season.

The Boston Celtics have re-signed guard/forward Marquis Daniels.

Daniels, a 6-foot-6 guard/forward, appeared in 51 games for the Celtics last season averaging 5.6 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 18.4 minutes per game.

He shot a career-best 49.8 percent from the field.

We are the champions again! After beating the Lakers in 6 games, the Celtics are the best team in the NBA. The C's crushed the Lakers from the start and were out to win it.

Celtics vs. Lakers Game 1

The Finals just like I predicted features the Celtics vs. the Lakers. Now that game is done and the Celtics have won it, it's time to look forward to Game 2 and how the Lakers can try to make the game closer.

Firstly Paul Pierce was hot from downtown, and PJ Brown was a monster on the boards. Those two were the standouts for me in the first game of the series.

Lakers have to try to contain all of the Big Three to make this series close otherwise say goodbye to L.A..

Boston has a new veteran center. "The Celtics agreed to terms with free agent forward/center Scot Pollard. The 6-foot-11-inch, 265-pound Pollard got a one-year deal believed to be worth the veteran minimum ($1.2 million for 10 years service). He adds a much-needed big man to the Celtics' frontcourt and raises the number of players under contract to 12, one shy of the league minimum."

Great news for Celtic fans, Kevin Garnett has moved to Boston in exchange for 7 players (5 players and 2 draft picks) in one of the biggest NBA trades for 1 person.

The blockbuster trade saw the Boston Celtics send Gerald Green, Al Jefferson, Ryan Gomes, Theo Ratliff and Sebastian Telfair to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Kevin Garnett.

Paul Pierce said he was very happy about this trade which adds to the recent signing of Ray Allen from the Seattle Supersonics. Last year the Celtics had the 2nd worst record in the NBA, and were snubbed on TV. This year they have become one of the favorites to win the East and will have more media coverage after the NBA and TV networks changed the game schedules.
